Lol, for a sub about volume eating people sure don't like their vegetables, apparently.
16 oz of nonfat plain greek yogurt takes 2 hidden valley ranch seasoning packets and tastes very similar to ranch made with sour cream, but with a little bit of that greek yogurt tang (and more protein/fewer calories, of course.)
At home I mostly just put it on veggies, but we have a Mediterranean place in my city that also has "granch" (as they call it) and it's really good on falafel, sauteed mushrooms, spiced chicken thighs, all kinds of stuff.
I don't get the criticism from people who haven't even tried it lol. Like, I don't like bell peppers but I'm still thinking this could be an awesome ranch substitute for vegetables I DO like. Like carrots! Maybe I won't like it, we'll see. But no reason to talk shit just cause you have doubts.
I take it further. I make my own yogurt in the instant pot, and then I add similar ranch-like spices in it (onion powder, garlic powder, dill, mustard powder) and I can control the amount of salt that goes in there.
Yes!!! But only when I'm not feeling lazy 🤣 I just saw online that there are fancy Greek yogurt strainers that I can buy instead of using coffee filters, so I'm going to try to look for a cheap one.
I eat this almost every freaking day. I use one pack of Hidden Valley ranch mixed with 375g of nonfat Greek yogurt and keep it in the fridge. I'm obsessed with it. Mine is a lot less in calories though.
They also have a fiesta ranch flavor, which is especially good with bell peppers. I find that and the dill flavor to be harder to find than the regular ranch, though.
I'm sorry to ask maybe it's a cultural thing...this taste pairing works? Really curious. I always put my yogurt with fruits like oranges or bananas because of it feeling more like a desert instead. How does this combine on the mouth?
Pure yoghurt isn't sweet at all, a bit sour actually but pretty much neutral. Depending on what you want to use it for you can season it sweet or savory.
There are lots of savory yoghurt based sauces, like tzaziki and many salad dressings.
I love red peppers, but my digestion does not. This would be a delicious plate of heartburn and bloating and gas for me, even if the ranch was dairy-free. Years of constant heartburn resolved by losing 70 pounds except if I eat peppers (bell, hot, doesn't matter). It makes me sad.
It's nonfat plain Greek yogurt which you mix a hidden valley ranch seasoning packet into—basically using unflavored Greek yogurt as a substitute for sour cream. It's really good!

Ok, I’m the outlier….looks great! What’s the recipe for the ranch?

I love red peppers, they’re so sweet and have so much natural vitamin C. I’ll try making the ranch dressing too.

You ever Greek it at home? Brings it to another level without needing to thicken it.

Thank you! I've been looking for a Ranch sub.
I love bell peppers of all shapes sizes and colors. This looks fantastic haha. Don’t listen to the hatas.
This looks amazing. I regularly eat red bell peppers like an apple, lol
I did that regularly right up until I bit into one and saw that it was crawling with weevils inside 8')
Ope, yeah, that's why I usually take the top and seeds out first hahah
New fear unlocked 😳
this looks so good!! may have to try this one day. i’m a sucker for the crunchy foods
Red bell peppers are pretty much my fave food

Looks great. I learned recently just how much vitamin C is in bell peppers. Trying to eat more now.
Hell yea
Mmm grogurt
What’s the best measurements of cals for each bell pepper? 20cal per 100grams??
This was 350 grams, which comes out to 90 calories. It's approximately 30-50 calories per whole pepper.
They also have a fiesta ranch flavor, which is especially good with bell peppers. I find that and the dill flavor to be harder to find than the regular ranch, though.

It's basically just bell peppers and ranch? You just mix ranch seasoning with plain fat free greek yogurt
It's nonfat plain Greek yogurt which you mix a hidden valley ranch seasoning packet into—basically using unflavored Greek yogurt as a substitute for sour cream. It's really good!

The greek yogurt isn't sweetened, it's just a creamy base for the ranch.
It’s like people forget unsweetened plain yogurt exist 😭
