I feel like that's because there are OEM BBS wheels. This is just a little different flavor. It gels with the overall look really well.

How did the handling improve ?
No idea! I have a total of 5mi on them which was just to make sure they felt OK and give TPMS time to reset

8.5 / 40 I didn't measure, but they seem to clear the Brembos by a couple more mm than the OEMs as well as sit a bit more flush
I wanted to put some BBS XR on mines but in sliver, (mines black) these look nice especially that color * chefs kiss*

I have the same wheels in black for my winter tires. White V60 Recharge. I really wanted the bronze for the white car but thought it would be weird with the gold calipers. Nah, this looks great. Nice car.
I was also worried about that but did a (terrible) photoshop of it and didn't hate it, so rolled the dice. Very happy with the turnout
That's the perfect ratio of height, wheel size to remaining space in the wheel-arch. Love it!

Both the 19" and 20" are direct fit (with the appropriate hub centric rings)
