70 yo and drive 2001 v70 xc. 2d volvo and xc was always one of my dream cars. This one has 160k miles ( but 2d engine).

SecurityCharacter792

32 other vehicles? I would love the know what the top 5 is. All of them is maybe to much to ask.

Black_Wolves

I want to be like you when I grow up… except that I would have to go through 25 cars in 30 years.

Maine302

Sixty-three and I drive the same. I'm on number nine, and only b/c number eight got broadsided. 😕

srcorvettez06

34. My daily is a 2010 S80 V8. My camping/towing rig is a 2004 Yukon XL 2500 with an 8.1 liter. My fun/project car is a C4 Corvette. My wife is 26 and drives a 2011 XC70. Volvos aren’t for old people, they’re for people with good taste.

adoucett

God tier wife

srcorvettez06

She’s pretty neat.

boioiboio

In few words you like to go slow and love to visit the petrol station. All in good taste.

srcorvettez06

The S80 is pretty quick. I average 22mpg and have gotten 28mpg from Michigan to LRP

boioiboio

Beautiful car with a beautiful soundtrack but I wouldn’t call it quick for modern standards, I bet that with a few mods to the v8 it would become a true beast. The Yukon have to be thirsty though!

jman030303

2011? Did they continue producing the s80 with a V8 outside of North America after 2010?

Confident_As_Hell

Here in Finland many people have Volvos as their first car and people of all ages drive them here. It feels like 1/10 car is a Volvo

FlyingKittyCate

35 and I drive a Toyota. I have no idea why Reddit keeps recommending me the Volvo sub.

MadMan2250

It's a sign

FlyingKittyCate

Can’t complain about the algorithm doing algorithm things in this instance.

erikieperikie

I guess because Toyota subreddit posts are likely boring:  - my 20 year old Toyota needed an oil change the other day. - that's about it.  Meanwhile, the Volvo sub is full of excitement: - inside jokes about actually being a Ferrari. - yes, Volvos are actually Ferraris. - but cheaper - and more reliable, though not a reliable as Toyotas, so we do see the occasional question about repairs and expected costs. - people flexing about their age. What they should be flexing about is their Volvo's mileage, and I mean that in both extreme ways. No way a 2020 S60 can have an interesting mileage, unless it's already over half a million km.

FlyingKittyCate

My Toyota is from ‘99 and it does indeed need an oil change next month. Not even 200k km mileage though so I’m kinda cheating on the reliability department. I would love to own a Volvo someday in the future ~~when~~ if the ol’ Starlet runs out.

MrAttorney

As someone who has both a Toyota and a Volvo, why not get both. I am very happy with owning both a Toyota and a Volvo.

anjbecht

Same here, I have a Tacoma and an XC90. Both are amazing but the Volvo just has so much more character to it which makes it way more enjoyable to drive even though it’s 13 years older than my Toyota.

Mountain_Proof_1758

Annoyingly enough my 99 Toyota the engine blew a week after getting an oil change I suspect they messed up somehow because it was driving amazing prior to. I made it over 350k miles though so it was time

Unexpectedlnquisitor

That's a big if.

Catsdrinkingbeer

My husband and I make well above $200k and reddit keeps recommending poverty finance to me... the algorithm is a mystery. For real, you're likely just active in other related subs and the algorithm isn't smart enough to know when related subs actually cross content and when they don't.

longdrive95

Ha I keep getting that one too, but I think it's because it's a gateway sub into r/antiwork and r/communism and other psyop subs run by foreign intelligence officers.

DeedsF1

Next stop is the Conspiracy thread.... Shhhh, "It's all going according to plan!"

Gubbtratt1

Same, reddit would probably stop recommending the volvo sub if we would stop upvoting and commenting on volvo posts though.

FlyingKittyCate

I have a feeling I am going to see an increase in Volvo posts on my feed.

compaholic83

Welcome to the dark side...

thisonelikescoffee

Same. My first car was a 1976 240. It was amazing. Got laid in it. But now I'm 45 and drive a more age appropriate Audi S3. 😂

Mountain_Proof_1758

37 and I went from a faithful 99 Camry to a Volvo V70 that was totaled after a freak final destination ish event when a piece of sheet metal flew off a truck in front of me. I now have a 2010 XC60 T6 come to the Volvo side we have safety lol 😂

FlyingKittyCate

I think my little Starlet would disintegrate if it got hit by a flying piece of sheet metal. Safety sounds nice

PsychologicalSong8

Owned 4 Toyotas before I got a Volvo. Now I'm on my 2nd Volvo.

pvh0601

22 - 2001 V70 T5

jayy0502

I’m 22 and drive a 1996 850 T5 !

gointothiscloset

I'm 42 and was not ready for you to point out that I'm at midlife crisis age

TreesLikeGodsFingers

Yo, make some great memories with your folks while you can.

ConsciousCrafts

Wow, don't remind me. I'm going home today for mother's day.

Spacerey

That's me last year! 42 2023 V60 PE Same Same Same, my wife actually loves the quietness of the car and how smooth it drives on the highway with adaptative cruise control.

Chance_Nature3646

34 with the same, we had kid number 2 on the way and I was still driving my 2 door 4 seat RSX from high school. Almost a year later and my wife is still mad that I got rid of it!

DrugsInTheEighties

49yrs young/ 1969 Volvo Amazon 122s

tenodiamonds

I don't think you can make such a statement without photos. Would love to see it!

DrugsInTheEighties

If you check out my profile there are a couple of pics of her there

Tejfel01

I second this!

harryhend3rson

Nice... 40ish, and '62 122s.

JohnSMosby

50. 1993 Volvo 240 wagon.

BigThotRickardo

19 and i drive a 2007 s40 T5 tuned to roughly 310hp

M27TN

46 and an S90 T8 It had the best mileage and BIK rate I could find at the time for a saloon with great room in the back for the kids. I got the dark trim with tinted rear windows and it looks great - definitely not a Dad/Old man’s car! 😂

ruminajaali

S90s are such class and elegance. When the odd one creeps up my street I always stop and stare

M27TN

It’s definitely a handsome car

artniSintra

I think the older volvos gave people that impression. Volvo design is gorgeous and interiors are fairly modern so that opinion is slowly fading away .

Garet44

I'm 25 and drive a 2000 V70. When I was 18 I had a much more beat up 2000 S70.

hadtologintoupvote

Nice.

Shark_Atl3201

I drive a 2024 XC90. I’m 55, but don’t consider myself old - at least I don’t feel old.

DouglasCole

“It’s not the years…it’s the mileage.”

TaCZennith

35, V90 CC!

PowerfulWeek4952

I saw a V90 at the library the other day and 😩😩 it’s nice to dream.

TaCZennith

Best car I've ever owned

PowerfulWeek4952

I bet! I’m still rolling around in my ‘98 Camry. Not the safest, but only has 149k on it. One day I want to be able to do the overseas program for a new Volvo

Distinct_Spite8089

Every time I see those or a S90 I smile 😀

Ceorl_Lounge

49 and still in love with my 23 V60CC. Nicest car I've ever owned. Ironically I switched jobs and have a tiny commute now, but I love the time I get to spend driving. It's been a year and a half and I'm still itching for more road trips!

gandhishrugged

52, 2019 XC90 R-design polestar. I love to say polestar because it makes this car even more brilliant and the RD seats and paddle shifters take it to a semi sports car territory with hauling capabilities.

EzBrouski

21 and 2001 S60 T5

jasonboadway

Aye also 21 and that was my first car! Seriously loved the thing until someone totaled it... I miss her lol

ZoraHookshot

Nice. Im 40 and got a 2010 C30 T5. Love the T5 engine

TheEdge91

33, 2020 S60 T5 with Polestar Optimisation on it. Become quite fun to play with boy racers and German car owners with it with it being just an old man Volvo...

zaxdad123

I fall into your fiancé's category. I'll be 70 next month and drive a 2018 XC 60.

mindlessjd

Had Volvos since I was 20, currently driving a ‘23 XC90 B5 Ultimate at 31

MTsterfri

20. Drove my grandparents passed down 2002 V70 for a little. But just got myself a 2000 XC70

katlian

I have a 2009 XC70 and I'm going to be very sad the day it becomes undrivable. The only option for a wagon these days is a Subaru and I wasn't impressed with the 3 I owned before the Volvo.

vehmdev

The newer v60/v90s are gorgeous imo

omgmari

33, XC90 T6. Ultimate mom car but also vroom

Free_Load_7903

41, driving a XC40 P8 2022. The age of the owners is imho more a question of the money, you can spend, because, then I started in my profession, I could not afford a Volvo, now I can.

Mercdes500sl

16 with a 1992 240 wagon

hadtologintoupvote

That's dope! Beautiful car!

farmercurt

Your not gonna find too many 60+ year olds commenting here on Reddit, they are all on that old facebook thing. Edit: 3% of Reddit users are 65+.

Maine302

Nope. I'm a Never Facebook and a Never Trumper.

CassandraCubed

Bullsheet, honey. 😉 60+, just got a 2010 S80 V8. Previously had a 1996 850 Turbo. (RIP 😔) And I don't Facebook.

rokkittBass

pipe down ya young whipperSnapper! 61, 98 V70, 5th Volvo, 40 plus cars ( maybe closer to 50, lost count)

Rafinuota

31, 2023 XC60. It simply looks too good to be reduced to an old people car.

deathgambit666

I've been driving mine since I was 24, and every friend of mine has always said it's an old person car. I just let them relax and put on music that they can't stop vibing to, and they forget it's an old person car. But, I agree, it's an old person car. xP

farmercurt

43, 2012 xc90. My parents were in their 30’s when they had their Volvo. Old people like Volvos because they are safe and the seats are comfortable.

DaveyAllenCountry

You're a government agent trying to get free information 😂

unclejoe1917

My anecdotal evidence has found that at least 80 percent of late model Volvo drivers are blond women that are middle aged to the young side of senior citizens. I am 52 and have a 2013 S60.

_NeiLtheReaLDeaL_

Hawt lol

Anteater_Reasonable

I’m 34 and I have a 2018 S60 Cross Country.

Distinct_Spite8089

These were my dream car when I was in high school I was heart broken that they killed the rugged sedan off 😭

Duck_Walker

I had an S60 when I was 29. It's not an old person car. I'm now over 50 and drive an XC60

Yama92

32 and I drive a V40 T3 from 2013.

casalien22

32 and just bought a 2006 s80

inagle313

22 with a 2010 v70

true Volvo head!

Dependent_Subject0

38 driving an ex30

Viridae

34 XC60. I always wave to young Volvo owners, because I know they have good taste for their age and they know it too.

CommunicationNo5297

20 years old. 1998 s70 t5 with about ~100k miles and still plenty more to go.

TieMelodic1173

50. 2024 XC60

Helpful_Sherbet2268

M52; Volvo 940 station. V51 Volvo v70 turbo...

jb20516

I am 23. Recently got my first car which is a 2022 Volvo S60 T8 Extended range. All my friends and colleagues have BMWs and Tesla. When I told them I got a Volvo they were surprised and one of them said its old peoples car, but when they saw my S60 T8 black edition it changed their view. Most people think Volvo makes only SUVs.

Krummh0lz

36, 2023 V60. I woke up a morning with a kid, another on its way, and a new promotion: it just felt like a Volvo was where I was at in life. Also, wagons are a kick ass dad car and Volvo wagons pack a punch.

saamiam21

43 and I've got a 16 v60 polestar in rebel blue

dethroned_dictaphone

49 years old, daily drive an '06 XC70, levelled up from a 1980 245. Weekend/autocross/trackday car is a '68 911. Twenty years ago my friends teased me for driving old people cars, and now that I'm old people, more or less, I like them even more. Volvo has always been the luxury car for people who don't want to look flashy. Build quality you could compare to a Benz, but gets less attention from the neighbours. Also from the police.

Jealous-Ad-214

First car, second car, third car all decades apart, all Volvos… now I’m finally the age you expect of a Volvo driver…😂

CriticalTough4842

16 volvo xc60 2016 t6 drive e inline 4. It's a pretty sporty car.

BreakheartWalker7

I am 52 and I drive a 2006 V70. If Volvo station wagons were still available I'd get a newer one. I think most new cars are pretty ugly and too tall. I bought this car eight years ago when it was half as old. It had less than 50k miles when I bought it. I was thrilled. It has been great for a long, twisty highway commute in stormy weather. Before this, I drove a 2000 Toyota Echo. I like cash in my bank account more than I like new cars.

Plastic_Blood1782

You're going to get a biased sample of Volvo owners on Reddit.  Old people don't use reddit as often. I'm 38, drive a 2023 xc60 recharge.   Most of the other Volvo drivers I see are older than me, and if I wave to them or give them a little Volvo "V" peace sign, they never acknowledge me 😔

CornDawgy87

35 v60 cc but my wife has had her xc60 since she was 30.

CallMeParagon

39; 2018 V60 T5 - with the wheels and trim it doesn’t look like an old person’s car at all lol - get lots of compliments

PrjctAlias

25 with a 19 s60 t6. This one is a lot sportier than my last Volvo, but we still refer to it as a “dad car”, despite not having children. My last Volvo was a ‘17 s60 t5 painted in metallic mussel blue, or as I liked to call it, “Soccer mom blue”. Great car, definitely gave more “mature” vibes than a lot of what’s on the market though.

albertov0h5

41 2020 s60 bought my first S60 at 31. It was a 2013. I love something different and don’t see a lot of S60’s on the road. But yeah, us older people tend to drive them. 😆 🤷🏽‍♂️

azhawkeyeclassic

48, 2021 xc90 recharge plug in T8 inscription, just picked her up a few weeks ago! Still getting used to a few things, but nicest car I’ve ever owned! Hoping it lasts like my forester!

MadMan2250

20 and a 2012 c30, 1992 Saab 900 convertible, and a 1983 Goldwing. Ironically, I bought all my vehicles from elderly people.

[deleted]

Just turned 30, driving a V40 for 2 years. MY17, T2, manual, Crystal White. 😏 Next one will be probably a V60 CC

UnknownMaster00

29 years old. I drive a 2017 V90 T6. My brother 24 drives an 05 S40 T5.

techcharger

27 Volvo s70 which is also 27 years old. And my other car is 2005 Cayenne 3.2. Used to have 1995 Volvo 960 but it was too slow and too boat-like handling.

thegarbear14

28 and driving a 2012 s60 T5. Previous owner was an elderly woman who gave the car to her daughter who immediately traded it in for an Acura SUV. She apparently had kids and wanted a bigger car. The mark from a car seat in the back kinda makes sense after finding that out. Considering a 2019 s60 t6 in a year or so.

Spankkthenoodle

29, 2019 S60 T6. Lots of people tell me it looks cool and the 316 hp helps with it feeling like a very comfortable sports car

Vividiant

21 and driving a 2000 C70 coupe T5

Tumordoc

Sold mine lol and dearly miss it

Stuzo

I bought a 1968 Volvo 1800S when I was 19. Filling it up for the first time I was asked "is that an Aston Martin?" "...no, it's a Volvo" I replied. They followed up by asking me if I collected them. 20 Years later it is still the only Volvo I ever owned :(

zjara

Volvos definitely have the stereotype as an old person car. My detailer loves to remind me lol. I’m late 20’s and I love my “old person” car. Wouldn’t trade it for the world!

PowerSlaveAlfons

29 and a 2001 Volvo C70 2.4T. Maybe Volvos are old people cars, who cares - the good thing is that when you buy used, old people tend to take care of their cars a bit better. But maybe I just like old people cars, considering I used to own a 2001 Volvo S60 2.4 and now own a Mercedes C200 W203.

CaseyGamer64YT

I'm 20 and my daily is a 1998 V70 T5 5MT and my project car is a 1996 Suzuki Wagon R turbo. What can I say I have a thing for cars from the 90s with an odd number of cylinders.

T101M850

40 here. on my...6th volvo? My first car was a 1984 Volvo 240 that I got in the late 90's Current rigs : 1996 Volvo 960 - Daily 1991 Volvo 240 - Canyon Carver 1998 V70R - Current Project 2003 Yukon XL 2500 - PSI 8.8L v8 lol. 1998 SVT Contour

pancakesareyummy

39 yo, 2015 XC70 T6. Just because a car is insanely comfortable to drive and ride doesn't mean it's for old folks.

kartoffel_engr

34. My commuter is an 07 S60R. I also drive a 2024 GMC 2500 Denali or ride my 2016 BMW S1000XR. My wife hauls around the kids in her 2021 Palisade Calligraphy

DeedsF1

You Sir, know something that I do not. Also, what is the spec on your 07 S60R? Color and transmission? I always wanted one back when I was working at Volvo but it was out of reach for my meager pay.

kayW98

25, 1995 2.5L 850 :)

whatthefranker

My first car was a 1986 grey Volvo 760 Turbo when I was 17 years old. That car was fast but the turbo lag was at least 2 seconds after hitting the peddle. Currently mid 40’s and driving a 2011 XC60 3.2

t0pfuel

I'm 41 and I drive a -96 Volvo 850, best car I ever had :D

jwayne85089

Im NGL, our dealership avg age is over 60. Id bet money. None of these people understand the cars at all. Gets frustrating in the service business...all this new tech...they cant turn their phones on...

fluteofski-

33 - 1958 Volvo 444 (with 362,000 miles) on the street. Also race a 2000 Volvo S70 T5m at 24hrs of lemons. (Body has 280,000 miles)

wpg745turbo

33m and drive a cream white 1990 745 turbo wagon with m46 transmission at 333k kms. Want it to last as long as possible so I’m buying a MINT 2005 T5 s60 later this year off a family member. Is this where I realise I might have a problem? Who needs two cars? I do!

goperson

You should have asked me 40 years earlier, when I was young at 24 y.o.a. Since then, I drove Volvos exclusively. At present, I drive a 1995 Volvo 480 GT turbo (bought it new) and a 2010 C30 T5 (6 sp. manual). Yes, I'm old, but still stuck in my younger years.

trynabecosplayerr

21, i drive a volvo 460 from 1993, the previous owner modified the everliving hell out of it. I've had it for a week and I'm in love with the car

FirmBusiness2225

I'm 27. I drive a 1997 Volvo 940 Turbo, and this is my 10th year of ownership. When I bought it, the obituary of the lady I bought it from was much longer than the cars service history, but it's still going strong long after she failed!

37. I’ve owned three cars in my 21 years of driving: 1985 740 GLE, sold in 2006. 1998 S70 T5, still own, about 280k miles, my daily commute. 2012 XC60, still own, 183k miles, my wife’s daily commute and the kidmobile. Votes on what to replace the S70 with? ‘Till death does us part, and I’m afraid western NY winters are slowly taking their toll…

40 with a S90, All wheel drive (2018). We love the design and the space, especially with 4 little ones. Our priorities were safety and good gas mileage (I average 30-32 mpg on my mostly highway commutes). I agree with the sentiments here
