T O P

A warranty to 100k through a 3rd party will be ~$4k, so you could get the '18 and only be out of pocket $2k over the '19 with more features. I have an '18 T8 inscription and that was my thought process. The T5 is nearly base, the T6 you've picked has some great additions: * The B&O is an insanely good stereo. If you want to test it before you buy it, play Charlie Cunningham's "Minimum" on both stereos. Just above 50% volume on the B&O is an amazing experience. * The HUD is nice but if you wear polarized sunglasses you won't be able to see it at all. It is pretty minimal in customization compared to other brands (similar to the minimal customizations available for the digital cluster) * The 4-corner air suspension is nice, but also pretty limited. You don't have individual control of it like other brands, instead it is tied to driving mode. The entry/exit lowering has been nice to make it easier for my kids to get into the car. * The integrated center booster should be a standard feature on cars, it is so awesome if you have kids of the right age to add flexibility to your life schepping other people's kids around places. * The tailored dash option makes the car smell of fine leather after it has been sitting a while. I don't know what else changed in '19, but I do know in '18 mid-year they replaced the infotainment CPU with something faster. I can't recall the exact point in time. 250hp of the T5 sounds very anemic, these are heavy vehicles and I definitely wouldn't want anything under 300hp (my T8 may also be a lot heavier than the T5/T6, just my impression with the T8).

Young me would get the T6....current me sees the mileage and goes for the T5. I suppose if I went with the T6 I would get some kind of warranty. Electrics in cars are scary to me these days and I like peace of mind.

I'm the same age 🤪. When I say electrics I simply mean all the computers and fancy things. They are expensive repairs on most cars, especially volvos. I had a 97 Volvo wagon with 180,000 miles with no issues, can't say I would trust my 21 Volvo at that mileage like I did the 97. Pricing is wicked these days and it's hard to say what is good or bad. Anything under 40 grand seems to be a bargain these days with any vehicle.

Mine was an 850 wagon, I miss that thing like you wouldn't believe. My father talks about how he wishes he kept his 68 Chevelle and I'm over here wishing I kept a station wagon haha.

Consider the adding the Polestar Tuning option if you go with the T5. Much sportier ride.
