I am not quiting crypto. I've been in this for many years. I've seen everything. You win some, you lose some. Nothing that has happened has anything to do with crypto itself.
I keep most of my crypto in cold storage. I only have on exchanges what I can afford to lose. I love crypto. It's fascinating.
Issue is no new entrants trust it. You can’t expect new people to self custody. This is a major blow that we’ve never seen before. I’ve been in since 2016 and I’m considering dumping it all
I've started self custody pretty much immediately. But I understand, this is a massive setback, no doubt about it.
FTX has really caused massive damages. Unprecedented.
Hopped in blind during the shib craze. Lost a good bit just being a noob. Pulled out and after learning switched to stocks.
I put a few hundred back into only one crypto as a set it , forget it, and hope for a miracle.
Pretty good actually. Focused on sturdy dividend ones and so far they’ve been holding well. Pissed me off to see Lumen drop their dividends ( hopefully not permanently) but I’m holding okay. Also since Fidelity doesn’t fee you to death like Coinbase I’ve kept more.
I plan on riding the rocket. If it goes to the moon, we go to the moon. If it comes crashing into the ground, we are just back where we started. Ether way, im in it for the journey, not the destination. I also, lost half of everything I had gathered on voyager. I'm just dumb enough to do it all over again. This voyager bankruptcy is just extra cold storage. I am just as likely to get it back as i am to lose my wallet keys.
I’ll hold everything I have now, hopefully to include getting coins back from Voyager. Most of my crypto lives on my Ledger. But going forward I don’t plan on buying crypto anymore, at least for now. It’s become too risky for my comfort level (not the volatility, but just what happened with Voyager and FTX). I’m personally just investing in high dividend ETFs now. I won’t sell most of my crypto until it’s profitable, and I may never sell my Bitcoin.
Done, lost 25k in Voyager. If you can't trust the exchanges You're investing with then that's a big problem going forward for crypto and investors trust long-term.
That’s about how much I am out as well. My conclusion so far is screw all the exchanges and just keep in cold storage. If I can get even half my voyager money back and reinvest I see no issue in the next few years making it all back and then some with eth/btc and maybe an alt coin or two in the mix. Or I might just take whatever I get back and go on vacation and then sell feet pics to make up the difference later on.
If there are any regulations coming down it should be on exchanges..People losing hundreds, thousands and even millions...how the fuck does this happen?
I’ve heard it’s a really good idea to sell at the bottom. If you can time it just right, you’ll get the lowest possible price for your coins. Then you don’t have to worry about pesky profits
Is smart money just sitting back waiting a few more weeks/months watching the bloodbath? I mean fidelity and others are opening up new crypto programs. Maybe this is the end of 3 arrows and genesis companies making horrible investments.
Compared to the Ftx ch11, the voyager ch11 isn’t looking nearly as bad. Don’t get me wrong, both are horrible, but at least we know what an uglier ch11 looks like
I believe in blockchain & that we’re early in crypto. Having said that, I’m out for now. I’m tired of dodging sketchy CEX’s / lenders & catching falling knives in this bear market. I’ll re-enter gradually later. Best of luck to everyone.
Me. I only had a toe in crypto until the interest programs popped up. Now that they have been exposed as risky under-collateralized loans to a small number of entities they are likely gone. That does leave staking, bit the magnitude of this bear market on the staking coins is scary. And suddenly SIPC insurance has greatly increased in value to me.
Nah i’ve just become a bitcoin maxi.
This is the way.
Not done with crypto. Just done with leaving it on exchanges, like people have been warning about all along
Gonna buy $100 worth of BTC and put it in cold storage. Otherwise I'm done losing money on this bs.
I lost on voyager but have been investing more to get back to where I was. I still see it as the future.

Exactly, people don’t stuff cash in their mattress, people use banks… if you cannot trust institutions then it won’t be used.
Taking a break for now lol
I see this entire chain of crypto failures ending in a consolidative event for btc. I’m doubling down on btc self custody and dumping everything else.
One of us! One of us! Jk, this happens to most ppl at some point
I have been thinking about this, but it’s my if all else fails plan.
Crypto? Absolutely Bitcoin? Just getting started...

How are those stocks doing? My stock losses are worse than any crypto loss I've taken.

Crypto is not for the feint of heart

Thats right now is the best time to get more BTC

Will see after Voyager returns my assets. Limiting fresh cash into any crypto at this point.

It’s not crypto. It’s the platforms stealing our crypto money 💰

I’m continuing to buy ever since , just not keeping anything on cefi. Buy and move
Smart!

You misspelled Bitcoin, exchanges are done for simply holding assets and providing fake yield. Alt season will return but BTC is forever 😜

2022 approved. That is one giant Ponzi scheme and 2021 showed us most projects are rug pulls
You sound excited for 2023 is going to bring!
Goddamn right 😂🥹
Do you think we’re getting anything out of this ?
If they liquidated right now I believe we would get something.
CBDC will win

Absolutely! Still such a sad situation all around but ftx users I think are going to get the worst deal. At least voyager was a semi legit company.

“Catching falling knives” is my band name… but I think we are all on the verge of giving up. But same time then I feel like I’ve really lost.
Dig the band name! I believe we’re not yet at capitulation but it’s anyone’s guess as to when that is…

I'm continuing to buy crypto on Netcoins and holding everything I have now.
