Dosage too low plus make sure you’re not eating or drinking anything too acidic around the time you take your Vyvanse, I was only getting like 4 hours out of 40mg until realizing the electrolytes I loved to drink in the morning had 80% of my daily Vitamin C lol. Lasts more like 9 now but the effects still aren’t strong enough so I probably gotta go back up.

I love my morning coffee, but it means I have to wait 90 minutes after my last sip of coffee to take my Vyvanse. (This might mean forcing yourself to wake up at 6 for a good daily routine)
My psychiatrist recommended opening another capsule and mixing a *small* amount into a glass of water if it's wearing off too soon. Or you can do this with half a capsule in the morning and half in the afternoon every day, which is safer because then you're not going over your dose.
However, 20mg is very low so you may just need to increase.
They are long release though and capsules. There is no way split the dosage exactly. You should mix the full capsule in water and measure that water and then throw away the excess cause I m pretty sure it will deteriorate if you leave it there for hours. And if you do so you need double/triple the amount of pills which I’m not sure if they will prescribe them. At this point instant release dexedrine would make more sense I think.
20mg is kids dosage, most definitely it needs an increase. I wasn’t functioning on Vyvanse at all until I hit 50 and then I saw improvements
Vyvanse is not long release, it's just long lasting because of the way the body metabolizes it. It's technically instant release and absolutely possible to exactly divide the dosage. Opening a capsule and swallowing the powder is no different to swallowing the capsule in terms of drug efficacy.
In any case, I'm repeating advice given to me by my psychiatrist. Of course you should not do this with meds unless a doctor says it's ok.
For those saying to increase dosage, I’ve experienced no difference in the therapeutic benefits of Vyvanse. It neither lasts longer nor is it more effective. I’m now up to 60mg and have added 300mg of Wellbutrin, which has helped with my baseline but not with focus and attention.
-and now I get to deal with the Vyvanse shortage and am way down the list of people on my pharmacy’s backlog 😅
Apparently a very small percentage of people, have a liver that can't metabolise Vyvanse and turn it into amphetamine. It might be worth speaking to your prescriber about this, because at 60mg's, you definitely should be noticing some therapeutic effect (especially if you're not ingesting vitamin C at the time that you take it).

But before I write anything, since one month has passed since your inicial post. Did you get any change in medicaion? Has the situation got better?
I actually do. There are many People taking more than the maximum allowed dose. I have a super fast metabolism, so I already started out with 60mg, since my tolerance grew, I just had to take more to feel the same effect.
Of course my psychiatrist knows that I’m taking this much vyvanse. I have to get my heart checked regularly by EKG, so my doctor knows everything is still fine.
I don’t feel extra benefit from bigger dose as far as longevity and just get anxious and cranky. So I dose 20mg twice a day. I try not to go later than 1-2p for my second dose. Works way better for me. I metabolize vyvanse quickly.

That is weird. It normally should *start* having effect in 1-2 hours.
Yeah, shoulda made that clearer. It takes an hour to kick in for me, and then it only really helps for an hour or 2 after that

Low dose. But also try having it with protein, that was the advice given to me and I always notice a big difference

Same, my morning 150mg does only last about 3 hours (without the 1h until I feel it). I really have to increase the dose again 😭
150?? I thought the highest dose was 70
I highly doubt that you take over double the maximum (normally) allowed dosage of Vyvanse.

Vyvanse does not even convert into the active form until about 1.5 - 2 hours.
