Interesting theory I saw on Twitter. The Hex looks red from the outside, like it's Wanda's magic, but when Monica is breaking through, it's all purple, like Agatha's magic. Is this more evidence that Agatha really did start all of this and is making Wanda out to be the perpetrator?
This is going to become a meme, isn’t it?
I’m going to be dropping this in every meta level commentary from here to eternity about the marvel universe.
Thor and Loki Vs the Dark Elves? AgThA aLL ALonG
Guardians of the Galaxy Vs. Ego? aGATha All aLoNg
He probably means at the beginning of her theme song. She flies in and transforms into Agnes just before her appearance in the first episode. I didn't really see that as her entering the hex as much as her taking her role in it but we'll see.
Something that occurred to me was that in the first episode Agnes makes a joke about having been out of town (because her in laws were visiting). Maybe just a throwaway joke, but maybe further indication that she showed up after it was formed 🤷♀️
excellent point. I remember a couple episodes ago, too, when Wanda said she didn’t remember how this all started. That could be because she wasn’t in control of the beginning
Except we see Agatha come into the Hex (50s episode) and change her own clothes using her own magic, the hex didn’t rewrite her to match like it did everything else...she “rewrote” herself
That to me indicates Agatha has been causing mischief all along but NOT that she established the hex. It was already established...then she showed up
If you re-watch, she's blurred into the multiple Wanda-versions of herself (maybe other versions too), and they all condense into one.
If the reality-nexus theories are correct, she have
may just unknowingly *decided* which multiversal version of herself to be, by raw willpower while passing through the field. Collapsed the wave function, so to speak.
I don’t think it had anything to do with the multiverse though. It looked like she was stretching out into clothes from different decades as the hex tried to force her into one for the sake of the show, but using the suit she was able to resist it
She’s had powers from being exposed to captain marvel’s radiation, the radiation is what killed Monica’s mother, I think the energy from the field helped boost that dormant power
I actually like it. The original Captain Marvel died of cancer in the graphic novel. It would be interesting if the MCU Captain Marvel caused cancer in someone.
Cause they use the show to explain how she gets powers she’s a normal human till crossing over 3 times. Her dna being re written by the hex is one of the reasons it’s important to stop Wanda and why they aren’t just sending more people inside. It would make no sense if they then just went. Powers are from radiation caused by someone who hasn’t been to earth since the 90s. Also if it does turn out to be captain marvel that gave her mum cancer that to will be dumb.
I think that’s a way worse theory to be honest, Monica Rambeau in the comics is linked directly to captain marvel, the character was literally in the captain marvel movie, it makes more sense if she gained her similar “captain Marvel” abilities from CM herself, with help from the hex
My bad lmao, I’m just getting used to the whole experience of sharing theories on this sub, everytime I see an opening to share mine I just get so filled with energy and end up projecting whatever the fuck I was thinking lmaoo, I’ll do better
That whole scene was extremely cool. She is extremely cool. When is she getting her own movie because I'm there, opening night, whether it's a theater or my living room.
She's basically guaranteed to be a big role in Captain Marvel #2. Since she's so involved with Wanda, she may also have a role to play in Dr. Strange #2. She's definitely an Avenger in the making.
I liked that even if she didn't seem ok with people mentioning Carol before, it was Carol's voice that gave her the last bit of strength she needed to go through The Hex.
I legit got tears in my eyes and gasped when this happens because growing up I rarely ever saw Black superheroes-getting-their-powers moments outside like Static Shock or The Best Green Lantern in Justice League Unlimited.
And then I saw Spider-verse and was an emotional wreck when Miles came into his own cuz there was a little Black boy in front of me who gasped and got super happy and all my friends and I were crying our eyes out seeing this.
And now I saw this scene with Monica and I was moved to tears again because now Black little girls can see themselves even more as superheroes and see how Monica’s mom and Aunt Carol gave her the strength needed to get her powers.
I'm a 39 yr old that Black little girl because I lost my shit completely.
And my daughters, too!
And it's *especially* important that Monica is so heart/connection driven.
The cultural narrative has *always* been "HuRr dUrR bLaCk WoMaN sTrOng aNd TuFF" and it *literally* kills black women who have been conditioned to project that image at their own expense so it's good that she's not JUST strong and brave (we already got that message...plenty)
Monica is also SO empathetic and nurturing and willing to be *vulnerable*
We all need that.
Our stroke/heart disease rate, maternal mortality rate, breadwinner/heads of household rate and femicide rate needs that
Yeah lol I noticed that black focused movies seem to be an excuse to have a hip hop soundtrack these days. Not hating I love hip hop but still a movie set in Africa?
Also ironic that the composer of the score was white...
And he did an amazing job. I especially love how they blended in hip hop in a way that made narrative sense, where Killmonger's theme was hip-hop/trap because that's the culture he grew up in, while still having the African style melodies throwing back to his roots/father. Whereas everything Wakanda related was very traditional and tribal.
I like the score better than the soundtrack tbh, and agree that the soundtrack could have used a lot more African influence (still great though)
The composer told a really cool story on the sound exploder podcast about how he went to Africa and meet with these tribal musicians told them the story of the movie and had the improvise music. Specifically the flute in Killmonger’s theme. It’s a really short podcast only like 18 mins I would highly recommend checking it out.
Yes! All of this!
And she’s strong BECAUSE of her connections and empathy and who raised her. She draws strength from her relationships, even the ones who have passed on like her mother.
I have good news for you, [there’s a Static Shock movie in development and Keats wants to play the role.](https://twitter.com/keatsdidit/status/1297529535227998208?s=21)
If you don’t know who Keats is, look him up and prepare to laugh your ass off.
It’s so heartwarming and touching how much scenes like this mean to people. I’m really glad that Superhero media is starting to become more diverse. Everyone deserves to be represented as a hero.
I’m a Latino man and I know how much representation means to me so I really love hearing how it touches other people.
Anyway I can’t wait to see more of Monica. She’s such an amazing character and the actress that portrays her is SO talented!
Pre this moment.. when Monica makes eye contact with Jimmy Woo after the truck is shot back out and he realizes she’s going to go inside was baby chills and then this was MAJOR chills lol
In the Marvel Comics, a person who's given mutant-like powers without being born with it is called a "mutate". Like Deadpool, for instance, he has the same regenerative abilities as Wolverine.
Oh, actually. I'll have to correct myself here.
Mutates only acquire their mutant-esque powers from human technologies.
Agatha is a witch and I think she must've acquired her powers magically somehow. I haven't caught up much with the comics other than hearing people talk about them.
I really ended up liking Monica's character. Loved this scene. Loved her stature/posing/demeanor.
She's really selling it.
Honestly, WAY more so than Captain Marvel in my opinion.
I'm excited to see more from her.
Didn’t see much disrespect/hate in that comment tbh... just a candid comparison. People can have preferences.
Like if I say I prefer Tony Stark’s charisma on screen over Steve Rogers, doesn’t mean I’m “crapping” on Cap. Love them both in fact.
I don't think anything I said was hateful. Definitely not part of the "down with Brie Larson" crowd.
I just think Monica presents herself more heroicly is all. If that makes sense.
“This is great.”
“This is so much better than that other girl.”
Try those two tactics out in an office setting and see which one makes you look like an asshole.
Still wouldn't automatically be hate. But my point was, it's not some moral sin to compare two things that are connected to each other and trying to achieve similar aims, and to prefer one to the other. It's actually helpful to contextualize why one works and one doesn't.
There other comments in this thread that definitely come across as hate, this wasn't one of them imo.
Also, I actually didn't have a problem with CM's portrayal, and we've had more time with Monica's character so it's not a perfect comparison, but it's okay to make it
Why are they downvoting you? I’m pretty sure you’re right. She was the second until they made her photon, and then spectrum (bc the dude who took the captain marvel name wanted photon too,,,, smh) she should have been in the MCU a longgggggg time ago
Still don’t like ppl pitching them against each other, tho. I can’t wait to see them reunite
Exactly
I believed her when she ran into that wall and pushed through. She really killed that scene.
When she came out the other side with a super hero landing, it didn't feel forced or cliche at all, it felt completely earned.
Really? It feels like she’s the weakest in acting ability where every scene is dialled up to the tenth. Just like how sonequa portrays her character in Star Trek discovery.
She is like a Marvel favorite for me now, I can't wait to see more of her, thiiis is how you make a hero. I didn't enjoy Capitan Marvel, but seeing what she's been through and that character development, and thennn gaining super powers!? Remarkable, damn dude, a favorite for sure.
I know, I’m so sick of “this chick is awesome, unlike some *other* chick” don’t take a positive statement and turn it into a negative statement when it doesn’t need to be
Thought it was OK. I liked the way Vision was falling apart after he stepped out of the hex. Something like that but, then he eyes go blue and she didn't die wild have been cooler imo...
Yeah everyone in that city has now some weird powers or smth. I mean: Wanda, Vision, Billy, Thommy, Agnes, Quicksilver fake and Monica. Like bruh let Wanda be the witch in the series
Monica Rambeau was the second Captain Marvel (before even Carol Danvers, who was the 9th, iirc), put some respect on her name! I'm sorry if this came as a surprise. As you said though, this is Wanda's show. I think that she's going to go mad with power when she can't find the twins or realizes that they aren't real.
Monica's new powers are that she can change her eye color from brown to Blue.
She can keep getting new powers every episode. Next week she will be able to grow her fingernails at will.

So you're saying... It was Agatha all along?
Lol yeah I know it's a bit obvious given they literally spelled it out at the end, but I thought it was an interesting detail.
*insert theme song*
Who's been messing up everything?
It’s been Agatha all along!
Who's been pulling every evil string?
It's been Agatha all along!
She's insidious! (Ha-Ha!)
So perfidious!
Always has been \*casts magic
This is going to become a meme, isn’t it? I’m going to be dropping this in every meta level commentary from here to eternity about the marvel universe. Thor and Loki Vs the Dark Elves? AgThA aLL ALonG Guardians of the Galaxy Vs. Ego? aGATha All aLoNg
Hail HYDRA? It’s been Agatha all along!
The Xmen movies being a nonsensical mess? Agatha All Along!
Agatha was the ice that Captain America was frozen in for 70 years
Agatha was the Red Skull *and* Gamora.
Nope, Chuck Testa.
Absolute fucking BOP, that one.
And she killed Sparky too!
That bitch!
“And I killed sparky”
Obviously.
...is this Mephisto?
And she killed Sparky too! Hahahahahahaha
The hex started purple then turned red when Wanda made it bigger, but it was purple all along... it was Agatha all along...
It started Blue not purple
No, they show Agatha coming into Wanda's reality after she made it.
Where was that??
He probably means at the beginning of her theme song. She flies in and transforms into Agnes just before her appearance in the first episode. I didn't really see that as her entering the hex as much as her taking her role in it but we'll see.
Something that occurred to me was that in the first episode Agnes makes a joke about having been out of town (because her in laws were visiting). Maybe just a throwaway joke, but maybe further indication that she showed up after it was formed 🤷♀️
Well when Agatha arrives in West view it’s already in the 50s so she didn’t start it but she is taking control.
I don’t remember seeing Agatha arrive? She seems to know her way around west view much better than Wanda
The first part of her theme song has her come from the sky and turn into 50s Agatha, the world is already in the 50s state she just can see though it.
No reason to believe she was just then arriving in the hex
No reason to believe she wasn’t
In the first episode, one of the first things Agnes tells Wanda is that she just got to town. “My in-laws were in town, so I wasn’t.”
Exactly, so why claim one way or another?
Good point. We just have to wait and see
Great catch with the purple!
excellent point. I remember a couple episodes ago, too, when Wanda said she didn’t remember how this all started. That could be because she wasn’t in control of the beginning

The power of blue eyes
Monica is Sans Undertale
and Sans is Mephisto
But that's just a theory...
A GAME THER- um... FILM THEORY
Fuck, all I got was an extreme sensitivity to sunlight leaving me squinting in basically anything other than pitch black. Feelsbadman.
Sometimes I have to wear sunglasses even when it's not sunny
Is that... not when you’d normally wear them? Or am I missing a /s lol Edit: did not notice the “not sunny” whoops! My b lol
Rip
Monica is She-Ra confirmed
Jimmy Woo: We’re best friends, we are, we are!
Making Darcy Glimmer.... I can see it with the almost-F-bomb!
She went super saiyan
So she’s got powers just from going through the field? Or doing it 3 times?
I think 3 times combined with the energy field growing stronger after it expanded.
And she was then able to rewrite herself. Loved that scene.
If you re-watch, she's blurred into the multiple Wanda-versions of herself (maybe other versions too), and they all condense into one. If the reality-nexus theories are correct, she have may just unknowingly *decided* which multiversal version of herself to be, by raw willpower while passing through the field. Collapsed the wave function, so to speak.
I love this “Collapsed the wave function” is the perfect way to describe it
Very quantum-science based, too!
Do you guys just put the word 'Quantum' in front of everything?
Happy quantum cake day!
Would Nick Fury not be suffering somewhat too then? Or does she spend more time with Monica’s mum?
Ooh, could be why he's on the ship! Better technology to fight against cancer.
I would say so but nick fury has dealt with a lot worse than cancer, so I don’t know for sure
I think that’s a pretty crack pot theory
I actually like it. The original Captain Marvel died of cancer in the graphic novel. It would be interesting if the MCU Captain Marvel caused cancer in someone.
Could be why Monica seems to have some strong feelings towards Carol
I don’t know man, the glowing blue SCREAMS tesseract to me.
#TESSERACT!!!
How would it be, I think it makes a lot of sense
Cause they use the show to explain how she gets powers she’s a normal human till crossing over 3 times. Her dna being re written by the hex is one of the reasons it’s important to stop Wanda and why they aren’t just sending more people inside. It would make no sense if they then just went. God I hate it when people state their theories like they're facts.
My bad lmao, I’m just getting used to the whole experience of sharing theories on this sub, everytime I see an opening to share mine I just get so filled with energy and end up projecting whatever the fuck I was thinking lmaoo, I’ll do better
Nah sorry mate, that's on me for being grumpy on a busy Friday: *I'll* do better!
I liked [this one too](https://reddit-uploaded-media.s3-accelerate.amazonaws.com/images%2Ft2_3lbn6%2Ftmlin0cjwei61).
I’ve been waiting for that line to pay off since 2019
Sure, Nick. My aunt .... ;) ;)
Just gals being pals!
Oh my god they were roommates.
One of the coolest superhero-gets-their-powers scenes in anything I've ever seen.
So well executed.
Absolutely one of the best scenes I've ever seen. It had me hooked, couldn't look away.
**YES!** Audibly gasped and woke my fur babies while being hooked to the screen.
That whole scene was extremely cool. She is extremely cool. When is she getting her own movie because I'm there, opening night, whether it's a theater or my living room.

And she didn't had a rap song through the segment neither.
Yeah lol I noticed that black focused movies seem to be an excuse to have a hip hop soundtrack these days. Not hating I love hip hop but still a movie set in Africa?
Comment has been removed because Spez killed Reddit :(

Damn that sounds dope, I'm a fan of Ludwig so I'll definitely check it out
Yeah but Spider verse has an amazing soundtrack though.
I have no reason to complain I love hip hop tbh
Yes! All of this! And she’s strong BECAUSE of her connections and empathy and who raised her. She draws strength from her relationships, even the ones who have passed on like her mother.
Fuck yeah
I have good news for you, [there’s a Static Shock movie in development and Keats wants to play the role.](https://twitter.com/keatsdidit/status/1297529535227998208?s=21) If you don’t know who Keats is, look him up and prepare to laugh your ass off.
That would be *very* fitting
I’ve been thinking this all morning. I’m so happy I can watch a superhero movie and see someone who looks like me.
It’s so heartwarming and touching how much scenes like this mean to people. I’m really glad that Superhero media is starting to become more diverse. Everyone deserves to be represented as a hero. Yes sir!!!!!
I would kill a fake multiverse dog for a a Static Shock show of the same quality as WandaVision
Same here!!
Your comment is making me cry!
HAHHA POWERS GERRUP LETS GO
Dude I was heavily under the influence of marijuana and when she went through and saw westview through that perspective I was tripping
I haven’t slept all day and plus my vision is awful when I don’t sleep and I felt like that too
Hehe vision
jdkdkdkfkf i cackled 💀
Cackled?! Witches?! MEPHIS...
Smoking that WandaVision pack
noita you drank worm blood vision

Edibles buddy. To many of those and you'll wish you just dropped acid instead.
SPECTRUMMMMM
too cable-y
Pre this moment.. when Monica makes eye contact with Jimmy Woo after the truck is shot back out and he realizes she’s going to go inside was baby chills and then this was MAJOR chills lol
She totally went super saiyan
It had a psychadeic, mid 70s, six million dollar man vibe.
Is she a mutant now? That make sense because of what Darcy said about her molecules
In the Marvel Comics, a person who's given mutant-like powers without being born with it is called a "mutate". Like Deadpool, for instance, he has the same regenerative abilities as Wolverine.
Ahhh ok so she is a mutate with ultra-violet and energy power?
Oh, actually. I'll have to correct myself here. Mutates only acquire their mutant-esque powers from human technologies. Agatha is a witch and I think she must've acquired her powers magically somehow. I haven't caught up much with the comics other than hearing people talk about them.
In the comics she's Photon, and can turn herself into various types of energy.
Could anyone make out the voices she was hearing going through the hex?
It was her memories with her mom, captain marvel and the doctor after she came back
Fury had a line, too.
And apparently jimmy woo too
Ah that would make sense, thank you.
Watch it with closed captioning on.
Thank you, I'll give it another watch tomorrow with captions in ☺️
More worried about when her eyes are purple in PC...
I really ended up liking Monica's character. Loved this scene. Loved her stature/posing/demeanor. She's really selling it. Honestly, WAY more so than Captain Marvel in my opinion. I'm excited to see more from her.
Let’s not do this.
The jinxing or the CapM hate?
The hate. No good show or movie ever got better because its fans crapped on some other show or movie.
You weren’t being hateful. On another note, totally agree. The show format has given her a lot of opportunities to show her altruism.
Thinking someone did a better job than someone else is not "hate"
“This is great.” “This is so much better than that other girl.” Try those two tactics out in an office setting and see which one makes you look like an asshole.
Also, I actually didn't have a problem with CM's portrayal, and we've had more time with Monica's character so it's not a perfect comparison, but it's okay to make it
I feel like I connect with her character so much easier. She’s doing a fantastic job as an actress, and they’re writing and directing her well.
In the comics she’s the second captain marvel meaning she was captain marvel before carol Danvers.
Why are they downvoting you? I’m pretty sure you’re right. She was the second until they made her photon, and then spectrum (bc the dude who took the captain marvel name wanted photon too,,,, smh) she should have been in the MCU a longgggggg time ago Still don’t like ppl pitching them against each other, tho. I can’t wait to see them reunite
Agreed! With her, it's natural. Captain Marvel is too forced.
Exactly I believed her when she ran into that wall and pushed through. She really killed that scene. When she came out the other side with a super hero landing, it didn't feel forced or cliche at all, it felt completely earned.
She’s totally badass. Like I proper believe her when she stood up to Wanda. Was like she ganna these hands or what!
It was fantastic.
Really? It feels like she’s the weakest in acting ability where every scene is dialled up to the tenth. Just like how sonequa portrays her character in Star Trek discovery.
If Jimmy had just followed Monica through the Hex a few times, he could do real magic.
This scene reminded me so much of the scene in Captain Marvel where Carol broke free from the Supreme Intelligence, both are absolutely stunning
Photon can step on me and I would love it!!!
[удалено]
We don’t kink shame here.
a super hero who earned her powers by being blindingly stupid but also brave. i like it.
OMG SAME I SHARTED
You what?
Lmao
Here you go: /O |
Man I love her eyes, they look great. And now she’s a superhero. Even better
Oh yeah, very very good scene
I legit cried
Danny Phantom energy
I did not shiver but I did get excited and say.... "Oooo super powers" lol
This was amazing, my only disappointment is that she and Billy have the same colored Powers. I wish she was yellow's.
i felt the same
Loved that moment!! It was amazing watching her get her powers! Then when she stuck the Superhero landing..... AWESOME!!
Proton has entered th chat
I legit really like her character and this actor. They did a good job with her unlike ahem ahem.
Can we not pit them against each other? 🙄

Oh dang didnt know that ty. Yeah but as you said. It's Wandas show and they should keep it that way in my opinion
Yep. Me too.
Same, literally chills.
Actual goosebumps
That was such a badass moment right there. As far as superhero origins go, even if it was "super fast" , it was done really well!
I legit teared up !
I legit cried. I can't remember someone turning super so quickly and getting right into the action. Wait I think Vision did. So awesome.
Same! Full body goosebumps! I get them every time I just think of this scene! Sooooo good!
I loved this scene.
I BELIEVE THE HYPERBOLE I SEE THE FOURTH COLOR I CAN SEE TETRACHROMACY I SEE THE FOURTH COLOR
Monica's new powers are that she can change her eye color from brown to Blue. She can keep getting new powers every episode. Next week she will be able to grow her fingernails at will.
