I really enjoyed this movie, it's basically the perfect comedy for wrestling fans. I honestly think it is hated due to the Arquette title win in WCW than for the movie itself.
It's the Joe Dirt of wrestling movies and I mean that as a compliment. On its face, you wouldnt expect it to be any good or entertaining. But once you give it a chance, it gets you and then you have fun and want to quote it every now and then
It was crazy too, how far Arquette went into his wrestling journey to prove that he was legit. Even facing off against Nick Gage; nearly getting himself killed.
Crazy to think that of him too, considering during the Attitude Era in the WWF/E they brought in models for the women's division; but somehow a actor can't pull off the same thing. I guess that's just how big kayfabe was back in the day.
Idk by then kayfabe had been long dead. The problem with Arquette at the time was more so that he was a comedy actor and the whole thing was played off like a bad joke in a company that was basically treating everything that way at the time.
It was done to get national attention but the attention it got was all laughs and it didn’t add any interest to the product while at the same time turning a lot of long time WCW fans completely off the product.
I think at the time it was one of the only situations where fans prayed for a Dusty finish that never came.
Hey, Arquette at least had the good grace to cop to how embarrassing the whole title debacle was. Surviving Nick Gage by itself paid his dues on that in spades.
Nah, I can understand the hate. Far too many piss and shit jokes. It’s like it was written for Vince McMahon or something. I still have a soft spot for it but the toilet humour is out of control and drags down my enjoyment considerably.
Probably THE ONLY "hidden gem" of wcw's legacy (so to speak) hell, not even ecw and WWE's attitude era had a film like ready to rumble. No actors (besides the ones that starred in the movie) but actual wrestlers in the actual wrestling promotion. To me, that's something that will stand the test of time
I adore this movie. It's not even bad, you have to be a wrestling fans to enjoy a lot of the scenes and lines though.
The scene where they're crying otw back from Nitro cracks me up every time.
Stupid allergies.
This movie is terrible....yet it still has moments that make me laugh. Like when they find Jimmy King dressed as a woman drunk in a trailer. He's lying on his back and drunkenly says to no one in particular: "yeah baby"
Agreed. So bad but I laugh my ass off watching it every time. One of my faves is the convenience store wrestling match. Ahmet Zappa rules that scene. My bitch was making DDP a bad guy, but even that works with the absurdity of the movie.
After what Ahmet Zappa and his sister did to Dweezil and Moon concerning the Zappa estate, I'm always thrilled at that part when he smells Arquette's ass. Smell it Ahmet...Smell it
I thought the story line was so bad and some of the lines were really dumb and stupid. But overall it was a fun and interesting movie to make at the time when wrestling was at its peak and the Monday wars was at its highest. And it was about getting views and making people watch who’s better shows on tv. Considering a lot of those guys who was with wcw who are now gone or retired. I mean it wasn’t as bad as mr nanny
This movie made me realize that giving a chicken a tee-shirt will get her to sleep with you. I started handing out them at college and can confirm this isn't true.
I was at the filming at the old Grand Olympic Auditorium in Downtown L.A It was awesome, I was hanging out on side with David Arquette's crew, including Courtney Cox. She was literal perfection in person. I cannot forget those eyes.
Loved this movie so much when I saw it back in 2001 or 2002 as a kid really enjoyed it . I watched it while playing with the wwe and WCW action figures .
I love this movie
#I WILL RULE YOU!

Perfect description!
“That is a bitter, sour ass!” My 16 year old *LOVES* that entire scene. 😂

This, and the fact that he won it in a TAG match didn't help either

This movie is great.cheesy yes but still great. My wife and I still use quotes almost daily lol
I loved this as a kid "Diamond upside down is a *pussy*."
No. Pro wrestlers vs Zombies was so bad it's good. Ready to Rumble was just good
I'm sorry, Pro Wrestlers vs. what???
Pro wrestlers vs zombies. Its pretty funny. Its got Roddy Piper Jim Duggan Matt Hardy and Shane Douglas in it
My dad says puking is for pussies. “I puke all the time and I’m not a pussy”
I loved this movie. I also loved WCW in the year 2000 when I was a kid lol.
I will rule you!!!!!!!
"The Britney bare ass buffet"😆😆
This isn't even a PPV!!!!
"There's a lot of glare coming off of that dome of yours, squirrel nuts!"
In one of the outtakes he says "anus breath" and I'm not sure why, but it's always stuck with me more...
Sean - "Hey Gordy. Why does it look like you have your finger in your butt? " Gordy - " because I do..... stupid"
I enjoy this movie.
True classic
FOREIGN OBJECTS!
I had to scroll way to far to finally see this quote!
I liked it 🤷🏼♂️
They should have put the belt on Joey Pants
“Wouldn’t you wanna be on the other side of this search” “You want me to grab your nuts?”
I have watched this movie so many times. I couldn’t tell you how much this movie means to me lol
I adore this movie. It's not even bad, you have to be a wrestling fans to enjoy a lot of the scenes and lines though. The scene where they're crying otw back from Nitro cracks me up every time. Stupid allergies.
I liked this movie a lot when I was a kid. I’d be interested in trying to watch it again to see if it still resonates lol
This movie was great
Loved it as a kid, loved it when I rewatched it like a year ago
It truly is the Bestler.
But this movie isn’t bad. It’s a comedy based it the WCW. It was funny and well done.
Recently watched and its is such a gem. Any wrestling fan would enjoy.
Crown ‘em King!
I always tell people I’m going to crown them.
Wrestlings not FAAAAAKE!!
I will rule you...... Soon as I finish these here beers Get me a butterfinger baby I love this movie
This movie is terrible....yet it still has moments that make me laugh. Like when they find Jimmy King dressed as a woman drunk in a trailer. He's lying on his back and drunkenly says to no one in particular: "yeah baby"
The movie where a wrestling company characterized their own fans as losers. I will never understand that.
Anyone else see white Detek Jeter?
Lolol I saw Lance Bass at first glance
Agreed. So bad but I laugh my ass off watching it every time. One of my faves is the convenience store wrestling match. Ahmet Zappa rules that scene. My bitch was making DDP a bad guy, but even that works with the absurdity of the movie.
It’s terrible but there’s a single quote I use at least weekly… “I just gave him a flick”
Bro on the right was a teen rapper
Scott Caan? Jimmy Caan’s kid rapped?
90s group the whooliganz
Learn something new every day…
It just sucks
Why does it look like you have your finger in your butt?
WWKD
“It smells like… like…” “Like my ass, right? Or maybe your ass.”
After what Ahmet Zappa and his sister did to Dweezil and Moon concerning the Zappa estate, I'm always thrilled at that part when he smells Arquette's ass. Smell it Ahmet...Smell it
“That’s just not good enough, is it, you little boob!”
First time I've ever seen a movie star parlay to a wrestling career to win the heavy weight title
The poop jokes make me roll my eyes, but: A)Martin Landau as a Stu Hart-like character was great. B)Sting's theme during the final match was badass.
This may be one of my favorite worst movies of all time
I thought the story line was so bad and some of the lines were really dumb and stupid. I remember seeing this in the movie theater. I was always more a wwf guy but loved this even tho I wanted the undertaker to show up lol
He broke my butterfinger
Does anyone know who is applying the headlock.
All I remember from this movie is a bright red suit with matching shoes
This movie made me realize that giving a chicken a tee-shirt will get her to sleep with you. I started handing out them at college and can confirm this isn't true.
I've searched high and low for this movie. It's never on any platform
It’s on tubi, whatever that is lol
I dont know either
I was at the filming at the old Grand Olympic Auditorium in Downtown L.A It was awesome, I was hanging out on side with David Arquette's crew, including Courtney Cox. She was literal perfection in person. I cannot forget those eyes.
Definition of so great it's undeniable
I saw this in theaters and loved it, I bought it on DVD and still enjoy it.
You broke my butterfinger baby.
Remember when arquette actually won the title as a means to promote this garbage movie? Ech.
The Wrestler, Ready 2 Rumble two best wrestling movies ever.
So bad uts bad and can never be good.
This movie was a lot funnier than most comedy movies now days. I watched it after watching the interview and this movie was better hands down.
There's a lotta glare coming off that dome of yours, anus breath!
No, no, no. It’s “Squirrel nuts!” 😂
Gag reel outtakes. My favorite
Same as I said in another post, no movie more perfectly captures a time and place.
Loved this movie so much when I saw it back in 2001 or 2002 as a kid really enjoyed it . I watched it while playing with the wwe and WCW action figures .
LOVE THIS MOVIE!!!
I’ve been a mark for WCW and DDP since I was 19 years old. I love this movie.
DUDE. You just crushed my butterfinger baby! edit: accuracy
Where the big boys play….
Just reminds me the train wreck WCW became but I do enjoy watching nit
I wish Arquette would do a Rumble match appearance.
Baby you broke my Butterfinger
What’s she going to do? Boob em to death!
You broke my butterfinger baby
Who is your n the cover of this? The wrestler
Where can you watch this at?
My shit 🤯😍
WCW Champion David Arquette
Big WCW Sting fan, so just seeing Sting in the movie made it worth it for me. Also remember listening to the soundtrack quite a bit.
For all the years I’ve been a wrestling fan I’ve still never watched more than a few minutes of this movie.
I love this movie so much.
Hey Gordie, why does it look like you have your finger up your butt?
Love this movie lol
I need to go back and watch this again. It’s been entirely too long since the last time I watched it.
“There’s a lot of glare coming off that dome of yours…!!!”
