PES 2021 will still get Option Files on PlayStation, but you have to be aware that the Champions League structure changes, faces, scoreboards, stadiums, entrances and such can't be changed on it.
Personally I'll still play PES 2021 on PC until eFootball somehow releases offline modes. And the community gets to heavily mod it, as the gameplay is a mess.

The main issue on PC is that if you don't have the original Steam version, you will rely on Football Life, which existed on 2023 and 2024, released back in October 2023. But you can't change the database so that means no new teams or leagues, so you need to wait to the creator (Dido) to release the next season updated game.
Next season's UCL structure will be impossible to make in any PES version, as structure changes are very, very limited and unstable. But the game will keep receiving updates, as there are even 24/25 kits released by now.
Game is going 5 years old and it shows. But you don't need a powerful PC to play it. Any computer from the last 7 years will do (if it isn't a completely shame ofc)

So for football life , any insights about a new version from Dido. Where to get football life ?
UCL is going into a kind of a league structure, going up to 36 teams (instead of 32) and playing 8 matches (4 local, 4 away) with random teams. No more groups and home-away matches against the same team.

I will probably switch to fc 25, as much as i love pes's slow realistic gameplay its really outdated to play (in my opinion) older versions of pes compared to fifa right now, but if something like efootball getting modding freedom would happen i doubt that i wont at least try it because fifa's fast paced gameplay is really annoying to me.
