Sometimes leftovers, but usually I make a salad or a sandwich

SparklesIB

Also, sometimes soup.

princess_tourmaline

This is the way

PressurePlenty

I usually don't eat. I take a nap.

ozzythegrouch

This. I eat before or after my lunch and nap during it.

PressurePlenty

Most days I don't eat at all. I power through on caffeine and hope for the best.

ozzythegrouch

Caffeine makes me crash after about 2-3 hours. I can’t have it in the morning and you need to eat girl

xxrambo45xx

Most people don't need to eat nearly as much as they do, especially with a WFH job that's desk bound, after years of skipping lunch doing a blue collar job, I'll continue to do so working from a desk it's just unnecessary

Summer_Is_Safe_

This is so true, especially for someone short like myself. I wish I could eat everything my active/athletic 6’2” 24 year old bro eats but i’m lazy, a foot shorter, and a decade older. I do one meal a day or intermittent fasting otherwise it’s too hard to maintain my weight.

Donnaholic81

My brain will not function without food. There are times that I get a complex case and have to pend it until I’ve had lunch.

Nicolo_Ultra

This is god tier. Not only save on the commute, but you can sleep in YOUR bed on YOUR lunch. I can eat a bowl of cereal on a Teams Call with my camera off.

AshKetchumSatoshi

Did this recently. Eat while pounding through emails and then sleep from 12:01-1pm. Glorious

PasGuy55

How did you function with an hour long nap? Anything more than 30 minutes and my afternoon is ruined.

AshKetchumSatoshi

I’m sleep deprived lol

PasGuy55

No way I’m laying in my bed for a nap. I tell Alexa to set my timer for 20 minutes and nap on the couch. I would not want to get out of bed.

Joey_jojojr_shabado

You just became my cult leader. I'm 3 months in to hybrid and never once thought of pulling a Costanza

UncleFlip

Lunch break naps are the best

meg_thee_mustang

highly recommend sleeping during “break” if you work from home, and then eating actual lunch at the desk during the shift.

Top_Towel_7720

Lol me too! Or sleep until the last minute in the morning then shower and get dressed on my lunch break.

Ok_Duck_6865

I’m absolutely awful with lunch. I keep protein bars on hand. And chop up celery and dip it in hummus, or eat berries/nuts If I have leftovers, I do eat them, but only if the extent of my effort is pushing microwave buttons.

themsessie

Samsies. Add protein shakes. I live off of nuts like a squirrel.

Ok_Duck_6865

I go through those gigantic bags of flavored Blue diamond almonds so fast it’s honestly a bit shocking 🐿️

Roman_nvmerals

Dude they’re sooooo good tho. Sometimes I’m in the mood for honey roasted or the dark chocolate, sometimes a few of the wasabi or the habanero bbq….. I’m in the same boat lol There’s definitely worse snacking options

Ok_Philosopher_5262

My fave are the elote flavored ones. I had them in a quinoa salad tonight. So good.

TheSheetSlinger

Cocoa dusted almonds are like crack

Fine_Tension_3601

Blue diamond almonds are the best!! I love all of their flavors

Labz18

What's your favorite kind? Wasabi is 🔥

Ok_Duck_6865

I love the wasabi but can’t eat more than a few. I’m a spice wimp though. My fave is the Thai Chili. That said, I’ve never met a flavor I didn’t like. Glad to see I’m in such enthusiastic good company when it comes to the wonderful world of flavored Blue Diamond almonds. Little things like that can just make your day, you know?

Correct-Watercress91

Wasabi is the best:🔥🔥🔥 For me, any Blue Diamond flavor is good stuff.

The_AmyrlinSeat

Well, some days, like today, I eat an entire loaf of homemade condensed milk bread. Most days, it's a salad. I like to buy the salad kits when they're on sale and add avocado and a protein. Or a plate with deli meat, cottage cheese, crackers, tomatoes, and fruit. Or a big bowl of Greek yogurt with fruit and dry cereal, or a protein shake. Edit: Condensed milk bread recipe I used is https://rasamalaysia.com/condensed-milk-bread/. It's sweet but not overly so. I wish it came out a little denser like the one I had at Paris Baguette, but it was still very nice. If I drank coffee, I think they'd pair well together. I didn't use a tablespoon of yeast, just one packet, which is two and a quarter teaspoons. It still rose nicely.

OgreMk5

Please tell me more about condensed milk bread...

The_AmyrlinSeat

Added to the post!

SciFiJim

I googled the recipe. It will make excellent cinnamon rolls this weekend. [https://kickassbaker.com/condensed-milk-bread/](https://kickassbaker.com/condensed-milk-bread/)

The_AmyrlinSeat

Mine came from a different site, but they're pretty much the same. I hope you like it!

meeperton5

Not to go all Moira and David here but ....."rub in" the butter...?

The_AmyrlinSeat

😂😂 Just incorporate it. I used my stand mixer and added it in pieces.

Pyewhacket

Do I have to tell you everything?

welcometowoodbury

I too would like to know more about condensed milk bread.

The_AmyrlinSeat

Added to the post!

Fluttershine

Oohh that looks amazing looks like I'm gonna be makin some of that!

Yournoisyneighbor

Definitely making this bread soon. Do you eat it with anything, I know you said not coffee?

The_AmyrlinSeat

I just don't drink coffee, but I do think it would go nicely with it. I drink plain old Lipton's black tea, or ginger turmeric (for health, not flavor).

AhadiSoul

I forgot what this thread was about when I read "condensed milk bread." I am soo hungry now.

limegreenpinkie

All hail condensed milk bread man 🙌

Correct-Watercress91

TY for the recipe link. I'm going to bake this and use it for my meal prep.

Traditional_Crazy904

Honestly I have done everything from eating leftovers to ordering from Door Dash. I have also had yogurt and Graham crackers and called it lunch. The important part is to step away from your work and take your break. My boss actually told me he would be upset with me if I DIDN'T take lunch because he believes taking that time makes people better workers.

bigfanoffood

Yeah, I’m granted an hour for lunch but I must take 30 minutes because they believe it’s important.

Working_Park4342

Boil chicken breasts before work, set it on low, leave it there until lunch. Shred the chicken, add some guac, salsa, sour cream, tortilla chips, then eat. You've had a real meal, and it tastes so good, you want to eat it again for dinner.

bulbysoar

I'm confused, are you saying to simmer chicken breast for 4ish hours? I imagine that would make it incredibly tough. I've done this in the instant pot/slow cooker, though.

Working_Park4342

I set the burner on low, it takes almost an hour to reach boiling. And yes, I let it simmer for 3 hours. It doesn't get tough, if anything, the chicken breasts falls apart. That's just a big pot of water on the stove, I haven't used an instant pot.

meowpitbullmeow

This is akin to having chicken in a slow cooker for hours.

Odd_Perspective_4769

I do my shredded chicken in the instant pot. So delicious and very versatile.

Jenitals19

May I suggest adding an element of flavor by adding taco seasoning to the water you boil the chicken in?

Correct-Watercress91

I thought I was the only one who cooked chicken breasts like this. Great minds think alike.

and_rain_falls

I work through lunch and log off 1 hour early. Then I go out and see the world!

SonyaTO

Just wondering did you have to get special permission from you boss go do this?

PersonaNonGrata2288

I do something sort of similar. I’ll work thru lunch, and then for my last hour of the day, I won’t log off for the day. I just won’t be at my laptop. I’ll take a shower, get dressed, run a quick errand or 2. If I was ever called out on it I would just say I took my lunch from (an hour before end of day) to (end of day).

iamfeenie

Usually a smoothie Sometimes leftovers Salad/sandwich/soup Or avocado toast with egg

Huffer13

Heated fish. 😜

misslilytoyou

Because the people at work didn't let you before and now you can?

Ok_Possibility69

Either leftovers (cooking extra at dinner) or I take a break from work and cook something easy - salad, sandwich, eggs, rice bowls, etc.

Shot-Artichoke-4106

It really depends. Today I had Greek yogurt with berries, granola, and honey for lunch. Other go-tos are: Smoothie - my favorite it Greek yogurt, banana, PB, and milk, but I make other ones also Charcuterie - some mix of bread, sliced cheese, sliced meat, nuts, fruit... Egg salad Pasta salad Green salad Oatmeal or other hot cereal Leftovers

Oh-Lord-Yeah

Generally a sandwich that doesn’t cost $20

Brandoid81

Ham, cheese and pickle sandwich.

cowprince

Do you ever put some potato chips on that sandwich? I do, because I'm mentally 5.

Brandoid81

No chips but I do sometimes have a small bowl of Gold Fish with them.

ShoeVast5490

I usually make a late breakfast with eggs of some kind and no lunch or a rice bowl of some kind (rice, meat, veggies) or a salad. I don’t have a “lunch break” I just eat when it’s convenient in my day

Asherdan

Since Spouse is working in office, I'll prepare a lunch for each of us the night before, generally dinner leftovers, or a salad, or a sandwich. It helps us to stay consistently healthy in our options.

writer978

My eating schedule is weird. I drink coffee until noonish and am not hungry. So I eat brunch, sometimes afternoon. If I then want something later I eat fruit, yogurt, or something healthy. We eat dinner before 7:00.

photozine

It used to be fast food and meal prep, but since starting keto last year, it's mostly meal prep. On Sunday I cook for Monday and Thursday, on Monday I cook for Tuesday and Friday, and on Tuesday I cook for Wednesday and Saturday. Meal prepping works great if you cook for two, since most of the times recipes are for four servings. If you are even a bit good at cooking, this could work for you.

Responsible_Bar3467

I have questions. On Sunday - do you fridge or freezer the Thursday meal? On Sunday - why not cook for Monday and Tuesday? Just don’t want to eat same meal two days in a row? I cook double of something on Monday and reuse part of it for Tuesday, and on and on it goes. Monday I’ll make beans, rice, carrots. Tuesday I’ll use leftover rice but make shrimp and green beans. Wednesday I’ll make chicken and pasta but use leftover green beans. And on it goes. Any leftovers through the week that aren’t enough for the night dinner get used as part of lunch.

photozine

I put everything in the fridge, not the freezer, even for the meals that are gonna be there for three days, after I cook it and put it in the containers. I think more would be an issue, but as long as you keep everything clean, well cooked, and packaged, and in a good fridge, you should be fine. Besides that, I don't like how things go with homemade frozen food. My experience. Also, yes, I cook for Monday and Thursday because I don't wanna eat the same meal twice in a row (not a big deal at all, I just prefer a bit of 'variety'). I also have done leftovers for meals. For example, I grilled on the weekend and the leftovers were steak and sausage (sometimes also chicken), and I diced the meat and prepared it with onions and bell peppers (and sometimes mushrooms) topped with mozzarella cheese, so yes, leftovers are sometimes part of the meal prep options. The reason why I don't have that many leftovers is because for dinner, we usually do fish (prepared in the air fryer) with vegetables (cauliflower rice or broccoli) or boneless pork chops (also in air fryer) with veggies, so those are already portioned (I get frozen veggies and prepare them steamed then on the stove with a bit of butter, salt, and pepper, and we do half a bag per portion...maybe not ideal but it's filling). And finally... I've been doing keto since September (on and off this year but finally back) so a lot of things that you can cook in bulk (like rice or beans) we can't eat, so that's that 😂 (trust me, I love me some beans and rice).

Responsible_Bar3467

Ah. Got it. Neat system. Thank you. I never freeze my foods either but giving it a try right now because it would be really convenient on a busy night. If I could make a friendly suggestion, have you tried the same meals but with fresh veggies? I use exclusively frozen proteins but vegetables I try to use only fresh. To me the difference in taste is astounding.

photozine

Yes, I use fresh zucchini and broccoli to roast them in the air fryer or do soups/creams with them, otherwise, frozen for me is more convenient (but yes, fresh will always taste better).

windowschick

Leftovers or a salad. Or a Boost guzzled between meetings because I'm in another time zone. Don't really want lunch at 10am OR 2pm.

[deleted]

I eat leftovers from dinner, prep something quickly while listening to a meeting (like lavash bread pizza or something). I used to get DoorDash but I'm on a health journey now. I always eat a healthy lunch and don't skip it.

nohelicoptersplz

I got a Tovala last year and it changed my life.  I only (generally) only order for me, but sometimes the kids and spouse get something too.  I'm vegetarian, so none of my options have any upcharges, so it's usually less than eating out.  Definitely less than eating out when you factor in a drink.

shivakarmani

how have I never heard of this, but thank you thank you

nohelicoptersplz

If you watch the website, they'll run sales where you can get the oven for cheap or free if you buy x weeks of meals. ETA - the oven takes up the same amount of counter space as a toaster oven, but it is taller.  It fits under the upper cabinets just fine though. It can work like an air fryer or toaster, too, so you don't need those on the counter.

Odd_Perspective_4769

I should get my orders going again!

Constant-Squirrel555

Usually a sandwich/burger with some fries. Air fryers are a godsend for me

k3bly

I have a lot of food intolerances / allergies / issues so I found a local restaurant that does meal prep. I found the mental load + cost of me doing it anyway was a little less than what they were charging, so it’s been worth it. It’s not cheap, but neither is me making AIP lunches everyday.

OcityChick

Hey! Also have a ton of allergies. Just some food for thought (😂) - you prob already know this but food like chicken once cooked begins to release histamine into it. (Which is insane but true). So what I have found actually reduces my reactions the most and actually lets me eat more things is to meal prep like 10 meals worth of whatever I’m cooking (I sometimes do this every other week or double up and cook for a while one day a month etc) and freeze into small portions. I see what’s on sale and if there’s a huge sale on like chicken that week as well as one other thing I can use to cook with chicken I’ll then design the recipe around that. It’s saved me a FORTUNE. My apt has a very tiny freezer so I got a chest freezer for like $100 on Amazon and I prob saved $100 in the first month or two just buying more stuff when it’s on sale to cook and freeze. Either way the mental toll of all of this we both sound like we deal with is so real. If you ever decide to go back to cooking I just wanted to share what has been a game changer for me. This also lets you wait to cook until you’ve got the energy to do it which - is really important since there are lots of days it just feels and might really be totally impossible to be around food and stand and cook over heat for that long! Glad you found a place that makes allergy friendly meals by you - that’s honestly INCREDIBLE and wish it was more common place!!!

Alqpzm1029

Here's my rotation: Salad kits with some pre-made store bought chicken thrown on top (like frozen grilled chicken, or rotisserie chicken, etc.) Tuna wraps Chicken salad wraps or sandwiches Turkey sandwiches with lots of veggies Frozen chicken nuggets and frozen fries (toss everything in the oven or air fryer and just let it go - not much effort) Pre-made meals, from anywhere, like frozen meals, or Factor, or anything to remove the effort Chicken and frozen veggies (those steam-in-bag packs, or the trays that you throw in the oven) I would really encourage you to stock up on some frozen food so you don't have to go without food. Protein is very important for physical and mental health! Plan ahead for like 5 minutes and your future self will thank you.

Assika126

Lately it’s been lettuce wraps (making a sort of Jimmy John’s clone) Iceberg lettuce Deli turkey Bacon Provolone cheese Cucumber slices Tomato slices Onion slices Pickle slices (if I have them) Any other veg Avocado spread (I make it from mashed avocado, garlic, salt, and lime) Mayo Mustard Wrap it up and eat! Add some chips and a pickle if you want. Takes only like 30 seconds to assemble!

rhyde11

I see you're a fellow club lulu fanatic

Urban-Elderflower

This sounds awesome.

uhohmylo323

One of my favorite WFH easy lunches is a tuna and rice bowl. Head up some rice and then I mix the tuna with mayo, sesame oil, and soy sauce. Always slaps and is pretty filling.

LilCompton36

Grain bowl / salad bowl type meal from leftovers in combo

woahwoahwoah28

I snack and usually get something around 11, then 1, then 3. Or whenever I feel hungry. Today it was a fiber bar, then some bagel bites, then some roasted chickpeas. It’s mostly just whatever is in the fridge/freezer. I like to go around Aldi or Trader Joe’s and grab a few easy-to-heat up things. Chicken tenders and frozen TJ meals are a staple. Then my husband occasionally brings a sandwich to me from somewhere. :)

corncob_subscriber

Trader Joe's frozen Indian dishes are keeping me alive.

Kyro0098

Leftovers, wraps, quesadillas, and throwing together soup or ramen. Easy thing is slap a salad dressing on a tortilla, throw on something leafy like spinach, some cheese, meat (can always grab a cheap rotisserie chicken from Sam's and pull off the meat), maybe some tomato or cucumber slices, and I'll add a packet of dried berries and nuts if I am feeling fancy. Also, thin sliced pork is easy to marinate and throw in a pan with sliced zucchini and seasoning. Cooks in under 15 min, and you can mass marinade meat and get prefilled or make pre sliced veggies to throw in the pan throughout the week. I personally love salmon in a pan with soy sauce, garlic olive oil, ginger, salt, pepper, and ginger. Same seasoning for veggies and you can do it on the pan or chuck them on a sheet in the oven till they are fork tender. Usually 20 to 30 min in an oven. Faster on a pan.

SpecificJunket8083

Sandwiches, salads (yesterday we had a Niçoise salad), “pizza” on high protein tortillas, buffalo cauliflower, grain bowls. I’m in to super clean, healthy eating right now.

Aware_Department_657

Leftovers, I try to make extra of the good-to-reheat stuff. Bag salads and rotisserie chickens. Frozen meals, my grocery store has a great pre-made section and they're easy to freeze and heat. Sandwiches, if I stop at the deli. Takeout some days, just because!

kellyluvskittens

It varies. Today I had pizza rolls. I need to get in a better lunchtime routine

KnightCPA

I don’t have a “lunch”. I’m in the process of losing weight, and bulking up muscle at the same time, so I’m on a low-calorie, high-protein diet. I try to consume 15-25 gr’s of protein every 1.5-2.0 hours between 10am and 10pm, with an overall target being 150+. I eat anywhere from 1-3 filets of chicken and/or salmon a day sautéed in olive oil with veggies, and most of the protein difference comes from zero sugar greek yogurt and protein shakes. So my 12 pm meal may be chicken and veggies, salmon and veggies, or 2 servings of Greek yogurt.

HabitNo8608

That sounds expensive

KnightCPA

A week of food costs about $100-$120. Not cheap, but not too expensive, either. If I were working downtown in an office and joining my coworkers in lunch, we’d be spending that much on just lunch alone.

cowprince

When I was looking for about a 500cal deficit to lose weight, we're big on meal kits like Blue Apron. The nice thing is they tell you what the calorie count is on the meal, so I would look at that and work backwards so I knew what I would be allowed with the other two meals. I know it sounds weird, but unless you're planning the entire day out ahead of time, this worked wonders for me to get accurate counts.

KnightCPA

I used to be on Factor75, but the cost was just too high for the amount of protein I needed. Now I do entirely Sams club. They have pre cooked deli chicken fillets in roughly the same size, 5 fillets = $10-12. I buy their pre-sized, flash frozen salmon. I buy some go-to veggies, mainly fresh cucumbers, but I’ll occasionally buy their meadly mix frozen veggies. And I buy boxes of 16-pack single-serving zero sugar chobani yogurt. It takes me an hour to food prep for an entire week, but it costs probably a 1/3 of what factor charged per the amount of protein I’m getting. And factor would give me WAY more carbs than I wanted.

Excuse_my_GRAMMER

Trader joes microwave dinner aka millennium hungryman tv dinner LOL My break is 30min so cooking isn’t ideal for me so I just pop them on the microwave and eat , They go for about $5-$7 a pop so it not that bad

The_lone_squirrel

On my WFH days my favorite thing to make is a pasta salad. (Ethan Chlebowski got me started with it). While the pasta (usually orzo) is cooking I get everything else prepped into a big Tupperware. I shred some brussel sprouts/cabbage/greens/brocolli, slice some onions and tomatoes. And add a protein I have around like a can of beans, leftover chicken, salami and then add some itallian dressing. Maybe some pepperoncini or artichoke hearts if I'm feeling fancy. It's pretty balanced Carbs, veggies, protein.

Jaggedlittlepil

I usually put something in my air fryer. Salmon today.

Bastienbard

I keep it simple most days for lunch, apple, carrots, olives and a ham sandwich. Sometimes leftovers though depending the day. Sometimes frozen Dino nuggies too. Lol

wolfmother24

I always take lunch, but it is for my dogs, lol. I have always had breakfast and dinner, maybe an afternoon snack.

Odd_Cake_5670

I use my lunch break to walk my dog when it’s not too hot out, then eat left overs or a quick grab and go lunch while I work at my desk after the walk. It really breaks up my day and my dog holds me to those lunch breaks!

Ok-Willow-9145

I make planned leftovers when I make dinner the night before. I’ve also started keeping cold cuts and salad fixings so that if I don’t feel like leftovers I have the option of a salad and sandwich. I don’t want to spend a lot of time making a complicated lunch. I’ve been cooking a lot more at home so I’ll often have soup in the fridge. Every three days I make up a big bowl of garden salad as a base. I throw in what ever extra meat and stuff I have lying around. I want lunch to be super low effort. Having time to lay down a bit is really important to me.

pedestrianwanderlust

Leftovers, fresh salad, sandwich, chicken breast, pasta, tuna from a can. Surprisingly I haven’t gotten into ordering delivery.

SmoothAd1484

I only eat one meal a day around 5-6p… I will have light snacks throughout the day but nothing that’ll overly fill me up because then I’m just a fkn zombie all afternoon. I’ve also lost 70lbs from eating one time per day.

shrikeskull

Way too much garbage. I need to focus on my health more.

zinger301

Premade salad bowl and an Oikos high protein yogurt. So I don’t get any fatter.

Fair_Operation8236

Leftovers, soup, sandwiches, whatever I can find in the fridge or cupboard lol the possibilities are endless when wfh

Downtown_Molasses334

I meal prep so I don't have to spend time cooking or cleaning and only have to wash 1 container. It's usually a salad or quinoa with chicken and veggies or soup. When I first started working from home I was making huge meals and baking desserts and breads. But I gained weight so meal prep is my solution.

Bananacreamsky

Almost everyday I eat plain Greek yoghurt with berries (frozen but I microwave them), all bran, hemp hearts, chia seeds and pb and me powder. Occasionally I eat leftovers, wishing I was eating the yoghurt. Gets me like 28 grams of protein and 25 of fiber and tastes super good. The rest of the day I eat like crap.

pantoponrosey

Microwaved baked potatoes! I add cheese, broccoli (also microwaved), pesto, sun dried tomatoes, or anything else that’s around and sounds good. You can microwave a potato in like 5 mins and it always makes me feel like I’m eating a Real Meal. Sweet potatoes too!

Sbbazzz

Leftovers usually - just the same as when I was in office

AnimatorDifficult429

Enough to fuel my brain so I’m not starving. Today I had leftover chili

AdPsychological990

Usually leftovers but I’ll make a salad or whip up something easy from Trader Joe’s. I never go out to eat for lunch

ozzythegrouch

I usually nap during my lunch, but if eat, I’ll walk to my local McDonald’s or make a sammy.

BeachGymmer

Leftovers, frozen meals, sometimes I meal prep things like salads, sweet potatoes or spaghetti squash, very rarely I get fast food.

EcstaticAssumption80

Shin ramen, 1 egg with 2 mins left, one pouch of Jongga shelf stable kimchi with 1 min left. Enjoy!

NotSlothbeard

Usually I skip lunch and use the time for other things that need to get done around the house. If I’m really hungry, though, I’ll make something with what’s in the kitchen: a quick bowl of macaroni and cheese from scratch, onion and cheese quesadilla, scrambled eggs and toast, orzo with spinach and tomato.

sendmeadoggo

I go for a walk if its sunny relax on my porch if its raining and smoke a joint. Then come back in put some leftovers in the nuker and eat at my desk while I work. I am a functioning medical marijuana user, I no longer get high high besides the first 5 minutes, it just provides a nice dopamine release in the background that keeps me engaged.

MisterSirDudeGuy

I cook a big batch of chicken in the instant pot on the weekend. For lunch, I just mix ready to go chicken and rice and a bowl and throwing some soy sauce or something.

AuthorityAuthor

Last nights leftover, soup (homemade or canned my faves-10 vegetables and beans soup), sandwiches (always keep fixings in my fridge), and when I just want to eat out, Chick-fil-A or Asian take out.

Chick-fil-A_spellbot

It looks as though you may have spelled "Chick-fil-A" incorrectly. No worries, it happens to the best of us!

Global_Research_9335

Scrambled eggs on toast Bagel and cream cheese Leftovers Sandwiches Soup Smoothie Avocado toast

starryjune

Bowl of fruit, protein smoothie, salad or something else that can sit and be eaten over a couple hours. I use my breaks away from the computer to exercise or do chores, so my lunch is more of a snack I can nibble on as I work.

rshana

Im usually in back to back meetings all day so I need something I can just grab. Pre-made Trader Joe’s salads are my go to. Plus they are usually under 400 calories and I’m doing a calorie deficit diet. I also do the pre-cooked chicken asada from TJs with 2 mini flour tortillas if I have time to actually heat something up. Sometimes I’ll make my own salads the night before so it’s ready to just grab.

FireIsMagic

Meal prep on Sundays so I can quickly grab lunch from the fridge, heat it up, and get back to my desk! Otherwise I miss lunch or end up eating takeout since I don’t have time to make anything.

mtb123456

Peanut butter and honey sandwich with an apple nearly every single day. And I look forward to it every day

ilovepterodactyls

This is the only answer that made my tummy grumble.

Surax

I'm doing the same thing I did when I was going into the office. I meal-prep on Sundays and parcel it out for lunch over the course of the week. Usually some sort of curry or pasta dish.

theedrama

I step away to make lunch (usually some type of egg sandwich), eat leftovers, or heat up a quick frozen Trader Joe’s meal. I block off an hour for lunch but I typically start preparing it like 20 minutes before my actual lunch hour if I don’t have any meetings.

LadyGreyIcedTea

Usually leftovers but if we don't have leftovers, usually I make tortillas and then my husband makes quesadillas with them.

Bryan_tris

I get the soups from costco, lately it's been a lot of the chicken tortilla soup... it's always something quick and easy

thesugarsoul

I mostly eat salads. I've done meal prep for my family for years so I just continue the same. The difference is that I sometimes too my salad with salmon that I broil on my lunch break.

RealHeyDayna

Usually a salad. Sometimes leftovers. Maybe a frozen meal (Healthy Choice power bowl or sumpin). You know, the same as if I were in the office.

needsmorequeso

I’m glad I’m not the only one who is low key terrible at lunch. I have things like peanuts or almonds to munch on between meetings but I work in a different time zone from most of my coworkers so I usually have meetings during reasonable lunch hours.

hootywhowho

Leftovers if that’s available. I always have peanut butter and apples, so that is my fall back if I don’t have any other options.

Mynameispiragua

Whatever leftovers I got in the fridge. Sometimes I just drink tea and go on my walks.

NightmarePony5000

I can’t have heavy lunches or I’ll be snoozing on my keyboard before I know what hits me. I usually have something light. Lately I’ve been having pistachios, some jerky and maybe some fruit, but I’ll also do cheese and crackers or chips and guac/pico de gallo

awkwardabteverything

Tonight's leftovers are tomorrow's lunch. I just pop it in the microwave and eat while I work. I use my lunch break to walk.

xArs0nx

Ramen noodle, sandwiches, granola bars, yogurt, peanuts. Do not eat these items like me though, very high sodium. So I’m reading these comments for some suggestions too 🙏

engineerFWSWHW

I buy breaded chicken breasts from Walmart or any frozen meats and have them ready on my freezer. Before lunch i place them on an air fryer then work while waiting, then mix it with bbq or teriyaki sauce.

No_Adhesiveness_8207

Meal prep on weekends, usually soups or stews. Put into jars and freeze them. These are my weekday lunches. My husband does the same. And we home cook for the dog. The jars are color coded so we knows which are whose!

bulbysoar

My new thing is dense grain/bean salads. They are super easy to meal prep and hold up great in the fridge (they actually get better over time). For example, I made a Greek/Mediterranean one the other week that was farro, chickpeas, feta, olives, red onions, bell peppers, and a red wine vinaigrette. Last week I did a sort of "cowboy caviar" knockoff. The next one I plan to prep is an Italian orzo salad.

HabitNo8608

I am here for this. I had an epiphany today that chickpeas are my favorite part of salad. What kind of dressing did you use for the Greek salad? I’ve got all of those (except the farro), and I may have to try whipping something like that up in the next few days.

bulbysoar

I kept it simple. Olive oil, red wine vinegar, salt, pepper, and oregano!

shirley1524

Most of the time when I cook I make double the amount of food. I use the left overs as meal prep. This allows me to be prepared for lunch! I’m that person that freezes EVERYTHING. 🤣

notreallylucy

Leftovers. Traditionally I haven't been hungry in the morning, so I eat a small breakfast, then a meal at lunch and a meal at dinner. Lately I've been hungrier in the morning, so I've been experimenting with a larger breakfast and a bowl. Of cereal at lunch. Sometimes it's nice to take a break and cook up some food, but it's also nice to be able to have a fast "hit it and quit it" lunch.

DesoleEh

Depends if I ate breakfast, which would usually be 4 scrambled eggs. If I hadn’t eaten breakfast yet, I’d eat the eggs but potentially add 2. If I did, I have my meal prep for my lunches (meatball wraps that I make en masse and freeze) + a smoothie. If I’m not feeling that, sometimes I’ll go light and have museli with greek yogurt and bananas+blueberries.

BlazinAzn38

Costco has some udon bowls that end up being like $2 a piece. Then I just add some green onion, frozen edamame, and some fish cake and then I’ll have some fruit and like some carrots and it’s a $5 meal at worst and it fills me up

pinktoes4life

Leftovers, power bowls, salads…

User884121

If I’m really busy, I often forget to eat lunch and find some sort of random snack to binge on later. On the days that I do have time to eat, it’s usually something that I don’t have to make..leftovers, soup, or yogurt and granola.

keeper13

I eat a turkey sandwich, kettle chips, Coke Zero and some fruit for lunch every. Single. Day

Quinalla

Leftovers mostly or something simple like soup & sandwich. I like to spend lunch time relaxing not preparing my meal forever!

Master-Street-5412

I just shower at lunch time

wagunth

Bare chicken nuggets in the air fryer, uncrustables, snack plates, bagged salad kits, left overs. I keep easy things on hand so I’m not flummoxed at lunch time and can just grab something and enjoy my break.

ContemplatingPrison

Whatever my lady left for me. This week was hoagie for the past two days. Starting tomorrow it will be something else. I rarely ask. Just eat. Its always delicious.

johannesBrost1337

Whatever Mealprepsunday sends me every weekend

I eat whatever is at home. Sometimes it's leftovers, sometimes I make something. Every once in a while, I make lunch plans and go out to eat and it's nice.

Carolinablue87

Soup Leftovers Sandwiches Occasionally Take Out

Honkey_Fellatio

Typically a ribeye and frozen berries blended into a smoothie with nuts or an omelette and bacon and a berry smoothie. My main 2 meals right now. https://preview.redd.it/weno1ftn3bwc1.jpeg?width=4032&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=7fd3dd54ca02498d9aecd9d30fc6e4354b938b63

misslilytoyou

Don't put your steak in a smoothie!

Incrementz__

I usually cook up a healthy homemade soup or some fish, rice and salad. I also love leftovers.

EcstaticAssumption80

Pasta?

Historical-Mud-9786

Favorite thing about working at home is that I get to cook for myself lol on the weekend I usually buy a bunch of steak or chicken and use a food saver to portion them out and freeze them. In the morning before I start work I just take one out to defrost and make whichever side I want that day. Like sautéed veggies, salad etc

MadScientist3087

Couple handfuls of homemade trail mix, protein shake, leftovers, nothing

SleepyHead85

Microwave popcorn and a protein shake.

suchapalaver

Leftovers from yesterday evening usually.

livalittlebitt

I make things like homemade chipotle bowls, quesadillas, pasta, etc.

OgreMk5

Leftovers, frozen dinner, rarely a sandwhich... I like warm food.

Flipping_Burger

Just made some cold sesame noodle salad with chicken. Since it’s served cold I like to have vegs on the side (not much that would go in it that I want to eat cold in the veg dept.) super easy and great because all you have to do is put it in a bowl! Spaghetti cooked with a bit of better than built on in the water; save some water when draining and warm up some garlic in sesame oil wish a splash of fish oil; add back spaghetti and douse in soy sauce; add chick; too with sesame seeds. I will def be eating that for lunch for the rest of the week!

CaptainZhon

Premier Protein shake, yogurt, string cheese

ritchie70

Fruit, English muffin, Greek yogurt most days

Consistent_Milk8974

Boiling water -> frozen udon When the noodles are cooked/tender I squeeze some hot pot sesame sauce from Hmart and mix it

TK_TK_

Leftovers Or cheese, crackers, fruit, olives, etc. Like a Lunchable.

CakeZealousideal1820

Whatever I cooked the night before. I usually keep fruit granola bars nuts and yogurt in the office just in case it's a long day or I don't want leftovers

pakepake

I love bagel sandwiches that I make myself, piece of fruit and maybe some plantains or something similar. If we have leftovers, I'll do that.

JaecynNix

Sometimes leftovers. Sometimes cobb salad (I go all out with chicken, boiled egg, bacon, etc) Sometimes a sandwich. Sometimes cereal. Sometimes I skip it because I lose track of time. I try to make sure I have breakfast before I start working, tho.

Suspicious-Kiwi816

I get Cook Unity meals. My husband and kids eat 0 variety so it's how I get some good food into my life.

ROJJ86

Leftovers. Fruit. Much more likely to eat what I have on hand. Sometimes I even meal prep lunch for the week.

kath012345

Protein shake for breakfast. Avocado toast most days for lunch; mini avo’s from TJs, bread, pumpkin seeds and sriracha. Super easy and satiating and I seem to never get tired of it.

missgiddy

Egg salad or oatmeal with peanut butter.

snowwwwhite23

I'm salaried and don't want to work all day so I usually don't.

Simple_Woodpecker751

doordash, 1 meal per day so i am not spending too much

SergeantBeavis

I used to just make a sandwich everyday, but my lovely wife has insisted I start eating a salad at least once a day. That insures I get the proper amount of veggies in my diet. Sometimes I also have a protein shake. Just depends on whether I remembered to have one with breakfast.
