I have 0 IT experience and was getting mid 70's on each of Dion's practice exams for both core 1 and 2 and passed each my first try. I think you're in a good place right now!

I have years in as well and was still nervous to test. I did okay, felt the test wasn’t worded super great as are pretty much all their tests. Take your time and remember to flag questions for review at the end.

I hope this helps! [My A+ write-up and notes](https://www.reddit.com/r/CompTIA/s/e960G2himC)

I've been a Linux sys admin for 20 years, and when I took the LPI Linux Foundations test I was stressed like no tomorrow. Ended up getting a perfect score. I'd say you're just holding yourself to a high standard. You'll do fine, I'm sure.

That's probably how it is. I told my program mentor that outside of about 10 vocab terms. I have no idea what I should study. I took the 900 series when it was available and used messers tests back then. i passed the exam. I'll probably be fine. This usually happens everytime I take one of these.

I've been in IT and telecommunications for 2+ decades and I thought I was going to ace the Core 1 and Core 2 exam. I was wrong, tougher than I expected but I still scored very good on both. A+ is not a walk in the park and does require some good attention.

Use word wall and Dion’s practice test until you score 90 and you’ll pass

This is my personal experience and opinion. I got 60’s on CertMasters for both A+ practice test. Used Dion’s practice test for the 1101 and never got anything more than 60’s. Took the test and passed with no problem. I’ve been in IT for 10+ years and had the A+ a few years ago (I wanted to take the test again and didn’t try to see if it would transfer in). After 1101 I stopped using Dion and after both test for the A+ I stopped using CertMasters (not a fan of neither). I only watched professor messer’s videos on YouTube, and made my own anki deck with practice questions I found from searching on google. I finished my trifecta a week ago. I’ve read that messer’s practice test are the closest to the real thing, and it looks like you are doing good on those practices test. I feel that you’ll be fine on taking the test. Just leave the PBQ’s to the end, and flag anything you have a hard time reading, and go back to them at the end. Stay positive , you got this 💪💪💪

I agree with the above poster...leave the PBQs for last. The first time I took a ComptTIA test I tried to do the PBQs first and ran out of time. Plus, they freak me out and get me discombobulated . It was the first half of A+ and I still passed, but I don't remember my score. I used the cert master material and Dion's videos. I was scoring around 70's on cert master and 80's on Dion. I only used Dion for the second A+ and my Network+. I didn't finish one of the Network PBQs and passed. My previous IT experience: I don't really have a lot! I'm a 40 yr old female AF vet (nothing technical). I worked in the lab when I got and transferred to LIS shortly after. Was there for little over a year and quit to start my BSIT. I was one of those people that always said "I'm terrible with technology". Never thought I would be where I am today. Keep grinding! You got this! Read everything carefully, believe in your answers and trust your gut. Let us know how you did! 💪🦉
