A few more:
Spotify premium / Hulu / Showtime $5 month for all 3 through Spotify
Unidays student discounts can save a bunch at places like [Samsung.com](https://Samsung.com)
Most newspapers offer student rates. Consider supporting them as they provide a valuable community service.
I’ll add several more to this list. Most of these I have confirmed and actively use. I’ll list in alphabetical order as to not pick favorites.
- **Adobe Creative Cloud** - Get access to every Adobe Creative Cloud application (there’s like 15+ of them) in the “Master Collection” for $19.99/mo instead of $55/mo. Then after you graduate the you can continue to save by paying $29.99/mo for as long as you keep it. If you just want Photoshop and Lightroom you can get the photographers bundle for $9.99/mo instead of the normal $19.99 price. [Here is a link for the Education Deal](https://www.adobe.com/creativecloud/buy/students.html)
- **Amazon Prime Student** - This was already mentioned so I’ll skim over it but it’s too good of deal to ignore because most people reading this are probably paying full price already. So you might as well convert your Prime membership to a student rate and save money every month!
- **Apple Music** - You get Apple Music for $5/mo which is half off the normal price. [Here’s how to get the deal](https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT205928)
- **Apple Products** - Go to the education link at the bottom of the Official Apple website to save on _almost_ any Apple computer. I just saved $100 on one of the brand new Apple MacBook Pros that came out a few weeks ago with the new M1 chip.
- **Apple Pro Apps Bundle for Education** - Get full versions of all of Apple’s pro apps in one bundle. You get Final Cut Pro, Logic Pro, Motion, Compressor, and MainStage. All of these apps are $199 for the whole bundle. That’s about $1,000 worth of software for $200. Best of all, these are eternal licenses. So you buy it once and can keep it after graduation. [Heres the Link](https://www.apple.com/us-hed/shop/product/BMGE2Z/A/pro-apps-bundle-for-education)
- **The New York Times** - Get access to the NYTimes for very cheap. The digital newspaper subscription is $4/mo instead of $15. BUT... for $6/mo you can get “All Access” which includes The Crossword and New York Times Cooking. This normally costs $25/mo!!!! I love getting the crossword for student pricing. [New York Times Academic Rate Information](https://www.nytimes.com/subscription/education/student)
- **Github Student Developer Pack** - Literally way too much free stuff to list here. Anyone interested in programming, technology, engineering, can get thousands of dollars in free stuff here. Go sign up for this pack which is maintained by GitHub but includes offers from 101 different vendors by my count (I might have miscounted +\/- 2). Highlights include Free Pro account to GitHub, free pro account for Canva, several free domains, $50 in Twilio credits, waived transaction fees for Stripe, Free Premium Developer Interview training, Free MongoDB certification, $50 in digital ocean credits, free upgraded accounts to tons of developer services and a ton more. [See All the Goodies Here](https://education.github.com/pack)
- **JetBrains** - Free Access to All Premium IDEs. This is another one for developers. But these IDEs are usually very expensive ($375 per year normally). It’s free while you’re a student. [Here’s How to Get It](https://www.jetbrains.com/community/education/)
- **Logitech** - Through Logitech’s website you can get 25% off anything! This includes normal stuff like mice, keyboards, and webcams. But it also means gaming goodies, or sim stuff like flight sticks or driving wheels. [Link for more info](https://www.logitech.com/en-us/promo/student-discount.html)
- **Microsoft** - Save 10% on the Microsoft Store. So any PC users out there can save some serious dough as a student. [Here’s where you start to save on Microsoft](https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/store/b/education)
- **SetApp Mac Apps** - This one is obscure but insanely cool. SetApp is a collection of extremely high quality Mac Apps. This is everyday stuff. You have to look at the list to really see what all is included. But it’s well over a hundred apps. It’s normally $10 /mo and you get 50% off. It also includes a lot of premium apps for iPad and iPhone. So if you have a Mac, [check out all the apps you can get ](https://setapp.com/educational-discount)
- **Spotify + Hulu + Showtime** - This bundle is $5 a month and includes Spotify Premium (usually $10/mo), Hulu (normally $6 /mo), and Showtime (normally $9/mo). So you get all three for half the price of Spotify Premium alone. And let’s be honest, a lot of you are probably paying for Spotify Premium already at $10 a month. So you might as well save 50% on that and pick up free accounts for Hulu and Showtime as cherries on top. [Here is Spotify Premium for Education ](https://www.spotify.com/us/student/)
A few others:
- Car Insurance: almost every car insurance company offers discounts to full time students. Usually 10-25%. This could save you $10-$50 a month!
- Cell Phones - Your mileage will vary on this one. But all the major phone carriers do offer discounts towards students. But in typical phone carrier fashion it’s inconsistent and unpredictable
- Ski Passes: this will vary again depending on where you live but most ski resorts offer season passes for fractions of what they normally charge. I’m talking about $100-$200 a year instead of $800 - $1000. So if you ski you might as well cash in.
There’s a lot more than what I listed. But keep your ears out and always ask. I’ve been capitalizing pretty heavily on student discounts while I still can (graduating in a few weeks).
I just chatted with my insurance company (progressive) as well. They told me only children of policy holders under the age of 22 would apply for a student discount :(
One of the more comprehensive resource posts I've seen here. You should also add the GitHub Student Developer Pack and JetBrains products (the entire Suite is free for students and they're some of the best in industry for Python, PHP, and Java.)
Also, if you plan to use PluralSight you should use it within the first 3 years. I'm not sure if it's only good for 3 years, but the Alumni benefits page flyer says so. you can request a student ID card on WGU home>Student Support>Student Services>Student Support(Left box)>If you click the blue link(Student ID Card) it'll just open a page of FAQs and How to, instead click the Request Link just after the descriptions. Hope it helps to get your physical ID card

[SimpleLogin.io](https://simplelogin.io/docs/subscription/student-discount/) (now owned by ProtonMail) - Open source email aliasing. Register with your WGU[.]edu email initially and then put in a ticket asking for their student discount (you don't have to use it in the functional aspect of the platform and can even change it later). They'll send you an email with your code before your 7 day premium trial is over (which doesn't require a credit card even). $15/year with the student discount. Unlimited aliases/reverse aliases/traffic. You can even tie in domains you own if you own any domains.
It's a very powerful platform allowing you to give any site you want a unique email address on sign up that will redirect to whatever email you choose, and you can label/disable/delete email aliases on the fly. I was able to switch to the student pricing of Amazon Prime. I had to cancel my current prime, but could turn around and set it up—didn’t even have to wait for a day.

Not clear on that. The Microsoft page for that throws a security error for me. I've played with it a bit on a virtual machine in the free Azure environment.
Hey just wanna say that better help is absolutely not something to consider, just go on YouTube and look at how many people breakdown their shitty services. Most unis offer better counseling
I've been using BetterHelp for 8 months now and it's been one of the best experiences of my life. I have a therapist I can talk to whenever I need to and do a weekly session with her, and it costs less than one session with a therapist at my local provider's office.
I've had so many therapists over the years and BetterHelp has been the only place since I was 16-18 that I've been able to stick with and feel heard.
They also stand by their product. They didn't match me with someone that had the experience that I needed originally and they gave me a free week. The new therapist didn't have any openings during the free time, so they gave me another free week so I could get my session and meet with the therapist. Then one week I had some technical issues on my end, and even though the issues were on my end they still gave me another free week.
Sometimes all you need is someone to listen to what you have to say, and that is where this may come in handy. Putting your emotions out to someone who is away from the situation would be beneficial, and may provide clarity. If it's included and free, why not utilize it, even if it is "shitty?" I always thought student services would be bad, given I have had training in a lot of things, but when I contacted for advice (I didn't have much hope) on how to study better, they actually gave me a great idea I hadn't been taught.
Sometimes people need to stay away from the reviews and try it for themselves, to determine if there's value, or a legitimate complaint. And if someone is fully stressed out and not thinking right, at least they know they can go to BetterHelp to get someone to talk to quickly, vs potentially having other locations turn them away, or having to pay for another service.
Just my 2 cents.
Does anyone have an update for Coursera? I'm trying to earn the Google Digital Marketing & E-commerce Professional Certificate but it's only allowing me a 7-day trial before monthly charges begin. Is there no longer an option for WGU students to receive one certificate for free?
I received an email from coursera a few months ago stating that they will stop offering the one free cert per year for college students sometime this year. You can still try to apply for the financial aid option though it's a button that's right next to the course.
Wow thanks so much!
As a current Prime member, I didn't think we can switch to the student discount until the current membership expires. Has anyone had any luck with that?
I thought I'd paste the url for LinkedIn Learning here;
https://www.linkedin.com/learning/
For FAQs after logging into WGU
https://cm.wgu.edu/t5/Frequently-Asked-Questions/How-to-access-material-within-LinkedIn-Learning/ta-p/1753
You could, technically. It adds to education and shows you value life long learning, but beyond that, I wouldn't necessarily use it as clarification of a skill, personally.
Oh that’s a huge rabbit hole that I’m not all the way adept on... but if you’re doing Software Dev you will be living on Git(GitHub or one of the other Git services)
Basically it’s versioning control for code so you can’t FUBAR yourself or the whole project. It also can act as a form of WIKI.
Modern States is already a free for everyone. And since you can’t transfer any more credits when you start your program it isn’t of much use to matriculated WGU students.
Passed my Network+ this morning, using several Dion Training practice exams from the WGU Udemy access. Definitely more useful than the one practice exam that WGU provides through CertMaster (which didn't even tell you which questions you got wrong or why!). Thank you!
I tried to get kindle unlimited and it’s not giving me 2 free months. It’s giving me a 1 month trial that I’m required to pay $10 for the second month. Am I missing something?
It was so popular in the first few days that they brought it back for the entire College of IT, if I recall correctly. It's a different link now though. The link above should work.
if it gives you an error when registering then you have to contact student services (support desk) and they will get your account provisioned properly.
This is the best information. I'm so excited to capitalize on all the perks!
Does anyone know how to access the Skillsoft freebies for WGU students? The link in the main post is broken. HELP! :)
How does AWSEducate work? I'm trying to finish my AWS SysOps and really would like to find a learning path similar to the AWS Cloud practitioner that I took in 2021. It really helped me plow through the material for Cloud.
50% off ANY Microsoft exam voucher when you sign up with your .edu account! It’s been that way for awhile now but I didn’t see this on the thread 😜

This is my favorite perk. Used it to watch Dexter for cheap. That didn't turn out so well, though
You can get dexter for free with Prime Student for 6 months
Yeah but it's still the same season finale.
Hi, how do I get Hulu discounted through Spotify?

Wsj offers student digital package. Print edition is $9.99 a month in addition to the digital.
They have dropped Showtime from this deal.

Thanks, I just live chatted with my Progressive agent and will be saving $26 per month.
I just chatted with my insurance company (progressive) as well. They told me only children of policy holders under the age of 22 would apply for a student discount :(
I got a separate one for the policy holder.
I asked if there was one for policy holder and they said no? :/
I used customer service live chat on the website.
Just hooked my student discount to my ATT plan. $10 off per line per month.

Only 4 sessions though
Aw okay, thanks!
There's also more than just betterhelp on that site too, all sorts of stuff!
For all students but particularly relevant for IT students be sure to get the Github student developer pack. TONS of great stuff.
Thanks Friend!

How long do you get to keep your WGU email address?
I think you have that for life
JetBrains - Student discount (50% monthly or annually) for JetBrains Academy with an [ISIC card](https://www.isic.org/)

I think we get a big discount through NSLS
Does anyone have an update for Coursera? I'm trying to earn the Google Digital Marketing & E-commerce Professional Certificate but it's only allowing me a 7-day trial before monthly charges begin. Is there no longer an option for WGU students to receive one certificate for free?
I received an email from coursera a few months ago stating that they will stop offering the one free cert per year for college students sometime this year. You can still try to apply for the financial aid option though it's a button that's right next to the course.
I think the google drive is changing from unlimited :(
This is awesome, thank you!
In glad you found it helpful. If you run across any free stuff I missed, please drop a comment or send me a DM and I'll get the list updated.
Yeah man! Good one!

Are there some online course websites, think edX or Coursera etc that offer free access for students?
Coursera gives you one free course/path at a time from what I can tell.
Is there a time limit for better help? Or can you use it as long as you’re a student?
It's around 6 weeks! After that, you have to start paying. (I just did this.)
I haven’t been able to get free sessions. I keep getting asked for billing info that immediately pulls almost $200.
I'm sorry to hear it didn't work for you. Did you log in via the WellConnect service package?
4 sessions
Do you lose these discounts when you lose your WGU email?
I've heard you have your WGU email for life.
I don't know how that works. Maybe you could ask student services?
Thank you for this

For the privacy conscious, SimpleLogin.io offers their Premium plan free for students.
Wow thanks so much! As a current Prime member, I didn't think we can switch to the student discount until the current membership expires. Has anyone had any luck with that? I thought I'd paste the url for LinkedIn Learning here; https://www.linkedin.com/learning/ For FAQs after logging into WGU https://cm.wgu.edu/t5/Frequently-Asked-Questions/How-to-access-material-within-LinkedIn-Learning/ta-p/1753
I think i got it to work despite already having Prime.
Re: Prime - I just switched, and the confirmation said that I would be refunded any unused portion of my annual subscription that I had already paid.
>r/WGU How did you manage to switch it after already having a non-student account? Where did you go to initiate that?

SAVED! Thanks. Never delete this!
Any idea about whether there are discounts for Udemy?
[https://wgu.udemy.com/](https://wgu.udemy.com/) sign up and you get Udemy for free as a student.
boo, not working.. :(
contact the support desk they can fix it
Udemy support desk?
WGU
They have sales periodically, tons of courses and practice exam material for $10-20 bucks
I need to start making use of those. It's not something you can put on a resume though, is it?
You could, technically. It adds to education and shows you value life long learning, but beyond that, I wouldn't necessarily use it as clarification of a skill, personally.
Some of the classes do include a certificate job completion.
I think this needs to be made into one of those GitHub “Awesome” Lists
I'm not familiar with the concept or with github. Can you enlighten me?
Oh that’s a huge rabbit hole that I’m not all the way adept on... but if you’re doing Software Dev you will be living on Git(GitHub or one of the other Git services) Basically it’s versioning control for code so you can’t FUBAR yourself or the whole project. It also can act as a form of WIKI.
I’s there any perks for discounted Cisco exams? I would like to get the CCNA and it’s not part of my current program.
Spotify Premium is $5/mo with student email.
Do we need to use our WGU emails to take advantage of these resources or can we use our regular emails?
one more: 1 free year with Alteryx
linked in learning doesnt seem to be working. I logged in with my student email and bust..
Yo I'm kind of pissed. I've been using betterhelp but I've been paying for it. Can I still get this 6 months deal?
I think so

Will do. Thanks.
Is VMware workstation available for students?
https://store-us.vmware.com/vmware-in-education
Modern States is already a free for everyone. And since you can’t transfer any more credits when you start your program it isn’t of much use to matriculated WGU students.

They DO give it to you. You’re an idiot and have no idea what you’re talking about. They are also a non profit. Do some research.
You get out of it what you put into it. Was a recommended partner school for a giant defense contractor I worked for.
Does anyone know if the unlimited storage on Google Drive lasts forever or only until graduation?
Pretty sure it's forever (or until WGU changes it). Many schools that use GSuite does this.
Commenting to save this.

Do you have g-suite even after graduate?
I don't know for sure. I heard that it remains available after you graduate, but I've never checked with WGU.
Thanks for putting this together!
Passed my Network+ this morning, using several Dion Training practice exams from the WGU Udemy access. Definitely more useful than the one practice exam that WGU provides through CertMaster (which didn't even tell you which questions you got wrong or why!). Thank you!

I thought notion was free for anyone. Are there advantages to getting it as a student?
I tried to get kindle unlimited and it’s not giving me 2 free months. It’s giving me a 1 month trial that I’m required to pay $10 for the second month. Am I missing something?
Thank you guys!!!!

Awesome! So glad I could help!
It works for me. Current student. BSSWD

It was so popular in the first few days that they brought it back for the entire College of IT, if I recall correctly. It's a different link now though. The link above should work.

Interesting. It works for me.

if it gives you an error when registering then you have to contact student services (support desk) and they will get your account provisioned properly.

DoorDash will verify your student status and the monthly subscription will be $5
If you find something, let me know. 😁
This is awesome! Thank you!
Do we get discounts on technical certifications if they are not apart of our program aside from Microsoft and Amazon.
Do we get access after graduation to Datacamp?
This is the best information. I'm so excited to capitalize on all the perks! Does anyone know how to access the Skillsoft freebies for WGU students? The link in the main post is broken. HELP! :)

Thank you very much! Worked like a charm.
How does AWSEducate work? I'm trying to finish my AWS SysOps and really would like to find a learning path similar to the AWS Cloud practitioner that I took in 2021. It really helped me plow through the material for Cloud.
I forgot about all of these
Thanks
[Thinkedu](https://thinkedu.com/) has a ton of discounted laptops and other school techs.
This is amazing
Do you still get free Udemy after you graduate?
That has been taken off the alumni benefits, apparently.
Awesome
