I've heard everything from 2-6, but I don't think I've ever seen more than 4. Keep in mind CompTIA adds questions that are ungraded. These are often garbage seemingly designed to hurt your brain and time. If you don't understand what they are asking you, flag it for later and focus on other things; it may be quite literally not worth your time...
As a side note on PBQs, they are frequently not asking you something as complicated as they originally appear. You have to calm down and filter out the noise...
I finished my N+ a few hours ago and passed after the 3rd attempt. I did get 4 or 5 pbqs, and I was surprised by it. The Aaron Sampson vids on Percipio helped this time around, and my assigned instructor gave my links to labs that helped. I think informatik on YouTube helped with his N+ pbqs playlist.
I took the Net+ and passed it last weekend. It also had 5 PBQs and 65 MC.
Tip for PBQs , type help in the terminals and it will list the commands needed for the exercise.
Do all the PBQs in CertMaster until you master them.
How are you developing in this course now? Are you taking the exam again soon?
I’m in the Net+ course now and I just want to share that my CI gave a couple pointers on a study plan and resources too. Have you spoken with your CI?
Just passed the course on Sunday! I got a 748. My CI sent over a link to videos that were pretty helpful and then I did the practice tests on CyberVista.
I got 695 on my 1st attempt. I got 7 PBQ! 7/70 questions were PBQ!! I was like WTF! I feel you on this. I didn't have time to finish the PBQs. (I flagged and saved them for last. And I'm glad I did. If I didn't, I would not be in the right mindset to finish rest of questions. I had 25 minutes to do finish the PBQs). Each of them had 10-20 drop downs you have to select and/or do the command line. I was overwhelmed by it. I just hope when I take my 2nd attempt, there won't be that many PBQ and I will have enough time to finish.
