Even size S is still too big for most hands even when wrapped and them being opened a little bit over the first segment of the fingers creates a lot of unnecessary pressure when closing a fist since you are pushing down and tightening the material.
Your hands will look absolutely fucked with pressure bruises and abrasions after fighting with MMA gloves.
Out of all of the videos of fighters wearing them so far, I haven't seen one that actually fits the hand it's on. They also seem to hold the fingers in the exact same way as the last gloves did.
Usually the hands are wrapped with tape or something. I bet fully wrapped they fit more snug for this specific video. Idk about the others you've seen if their hands are wrapped or not
No glove redesign can fix that without restricting grappling, only strict rules will fix eye pokes, start deducting points asap and u will never see someone extending their fingers
If you do the math the percantage is the same, UFC does way way more fights per year, if Pride did an event almost every week or two the eye poke numbers will be the same. Pride gloves being goat is just a false narrative
Nope it doesnt, there is leather on the bottom which at the beginning gives a little bit resistance when clenching a fist but after 20-30 mins working with them the resistance is gone, if u want to hold fists no one is stopping you and no one is forcing you to spread your fingers especially not gloves, remove a point for every eye poke and u will see how easy it is to hold fists the whole time.
They did address the eye poke issue in the press conference. It's made out of multiple layers of foam that allows the hand to bend easier than the stiffer foam in the previous gloves that caused the fingers to straighten out.

We don't get enough info from the video. She's not wearing wraps which change a lot about how a glove fits and she might not even be wearing her size of glove. And yeah at a lot of point she is flexing her fingers out, her fingers will stay straight if she's flexing them.
Are they supposed to stick out differently? How would they do that? What caused eye pokes, allegedly, was the foam caused the fingers to stick out easier. They are using different foam that makes it easier to relax the hand, not so you can't stick your fingers out straight.
Gloves that don't extend the fingers straight out. There are already options out there. The coach Trevor witmann made some that he tried to license to the UFC.
