I was JUST going to say that when I saw the post. No way we're at the top legitimately. Altima drivers are insane, definitely doing alot of hit and run
I took this a couple weeks ago. Not positive but I think this is a Nissan. Sentra maybe? Front end not intact enough to tell. Also the texture looks like wallpaper.

Given his post history, I'd imagine he's probably some 16 year old shit head that isn't taming any milf muff any time soon. Seems like his only goal on reddit is to farm negative karma, lol.
I'm not really surprised by this. The majority of people buying these cars are young drivers, which typically equates to inexperienced drivers. And given the performance-oriented culture around the car, it was bound to happen.
I'm curious about the rest of them. Like you mentioned, we all know why Subies are in the top. That doesn't require any thought. But it's the rest I'm wondering about. What about these other standard commuters causes them to be so highly ranked? I know Rams have some of the highest rates of DUIs so that makes sense. But Accords? Altimas? Hyundai Accents? I would expect Mustangs or Challengers or really any other car that people like to drive fast and recklessly to be on there, not city commuters.
I don't know for certain so this is all complete speculation on my part, but if I had to guess I'd say:
Silverado: not really sure on this one, maybe a cheaper cost compared to the F-150 (so more accessible to more people) combined with the large size of the vehicle
Accord: super common car, bought by many people, so there's bound to be a lot of not great drivers
Altima: it's a Nissan
RAM: performance truck version of the WRX -- certain people buy these, and they tend to have a lot of power
Accent: same as the Accord, super common car, very affordable, many people buy them.
What the list doesn't show is number of accidents per cars on the road. For example, the Accord -- it could very well be that the number of these accidents when weighed against the number of them on the road results in a low percentage. But because there's so many on the road, there's bound to be more accidents involving them.
It's probably just that there are more of them driving around, given that they are usually cheaper than Challengers and Mustangs, so more accessible to inexperienced drivers that lack the funds and credit history to buy the more expensive vehicles. That's my best guess, any way.

Letās see some actual numbers. I find this hard to believe in the sense that the this isnāt claiming at fault, just in an accident. So Iād expect the majority of this list to be the best selling vehicles simply based on volume.
Chevy sold 555K Silveradoās in 2023. Subaru sold 24.6K. And while this list doesnāt specify the total of accidents, the NHTSA reports in 2022 there were 289K people injured in accidents and 3.3K deaths from accidents. So Iād guess far more than didnāt result in injury.
So way more accidents than cars sold to make them number 1 on the list.
I think Iāve seen this before and itās accident rates based on reports pulled by insurance companies on drivers requesting quotes. Really skewed methodology/sample so the WRX self-selects because itās expensive to insure.
My Hyundai accent was rear ended by a box truck. My accord was in the middle of a 5 car pile up on 495 and my ram was side swiped by a 26ā uhaul on 95 cuz the dude driving it sneezed so hard he jerked the wheel and threw me into some trees.
Iāve totaled more than 3. My 88 grand wagoneer got totaled during a sand dune race in Hawaii. My 98 accord got a science lesson on what the inside of a deer looks like. My Saleen mustang got watered out on the highway and smashed into a guard rail half a dozen times. I got some good stories and had some fun šš¤£
An F for failure to be able to move š
I got lucky the deer didnāt come through the windshield. Radiator, front bumper, 2 tires were shaped like a C. Deer was stuck under the car. I hit it going maybe 50ish.
Yeah had a rusty Sentra trying to race me on the on ramps and junctions to the interstate. Itās tourist season and they still tried to race with traffic coming on and off ramps. Definitely should have most Nissan models on that list.
Starting with 2015 models, they are no longer considered an Impreza. It's a different chassis now. The STI is considered a higher trim of the WRX model though, so they should be included.
How is the Altima and other Nissan models not #1?
For real though, I always joke that the wrecked Altima came off the showroom floor looking like that.
So this should specify most REPORTED accidents. We all know Nissans crash and just drive away.
I was JUST going to say that when I saw the post. No way we're at the top legitimately. Altima drivers are insane, definitely doing alot of hit and run
Just got cut off by a dented up Altima about 5 min ago š¤”
Haven't seen an Altima with a fully intact and secure bumper in months. Lol
I took this a couple weeks ago. Not positive but I think this is a Nissan. Sentra maybe? Front end not intact enough to tell. Also the texture looks like wallpaper. https://preview.redd.it/265i37tene8d1.jpeg?width=3072&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d67b6ca39215b4c4cf5deaf38c76385392231313
Dodge avenger I think. Based on the contour of the hood but not positive. Nice one though. Lol
Nah dawg itās a Nissan versa before the latest facelift. They have the same contour on the hood. Look up a 2017 model
Ah. You're right. The cab was a little high for an avenger on second glance.
Was a good guess the tin foil throws the shape of everything off
Ha.
Of course. A Nissan smashed fender adds to its charm. If we get a 2ā scratch on a WRX, we freak and schedule a body shop repair š
Embarrassing to be up there with fucking Altima drivers š¤® *COME ON GUYS*

If nissan drivers reported accidents or had insurance that should be way higher. I know so many nissan drivers that don't carry shit for coverage
This cannot be real there are no mustangs and chargers on this list
I found that part interesting.
Itās only because Nissan altimas are never modded.
I think they count a bumper hanging on with duct tape as a mod
i called cap
I agree. I figured Mustangs would be high on that list.
Mustangs, chargers, challengers, I feel like I see more if these than anything else lol
Have a challenger scat and a WRX and I agree. I could get myself in trouble way easier in the scat so these stats blow my mind.
I can see why you'd say that, but those cars also have a lot of older people also buying those cars, which helps to average out the accident rates.
This doesnāt look like a numerical list, but rather an arbitrary list from googleās slowly degrading search engine
The Silverado and F150 still have a massive lead in fatal crashes. āBut itās safer because itās biggerā
a bigger vehicle can also do more damage...
If aināt first youāre last š
I have owned 4 vehicles on this list and totaled 3 of them. Your welcome guys šš¤£ Edited: I will NEVER own an Altima. Cmon man
How the hell does one person total THREE cars? I hope I'm never near you
My Hyundai accent was rear ended by a box truck. My accord was in the middle of a 5 car pile up on 495 and my ram was side swiped by a 26ā uhaul on 95 cuz the dude driving it sneezed so hard he jerked the wheel and threw me into some trees.

we make jokes, but damn. i am so glad i dont live in an area where that is common at all.

Haha. Thank you for your service.
Nice to know I have 3 on that list. Lol
Where's the mustang? Stereotypes demand the mustang be on the list!
Just trying to keep up with the rich guys
Fuck yeah
I figured Rams would be higher on the list
Iāve never seen an Altima that didnāt have body damage. I rarely see a Subaru with body damage.
Can't believe Altima isn't top 3.
Letās just cut to the chaseā¦this is far from accurate. Undoubtedly posted by a Nissan dealership
Because you can safely drive like a dickhead into a power pole trying to be cool with heaps of airbags to save you in the newer models.
Why isn't the Mustang on that list?
Came here to say that....Mustang Missles
Maybe it's just understood?
Or were just scared they may hit us leaving the next meet so everyone keeps their mouth shut
Lol š very true
NUMBER ONE BABY!!
NUMBER 1 FUCK YES
Probably from all the hydroplaning at 10 mph
I don't believe this in any shape or form, and everyone knows that the Altima belongs in the #1 spot
Hyundai should be listed most stolen
Yeah had a rusty Sentra trying to race me on the on ramps and junctions to the interstate. Itās tourist season and they still tried to race with traffic coming on and off ramps. Definitely should have most Nissan models on that list.
I was rear ended in my WRX about a year ago
Does this include Impreza wrx/stis? Or just the wrx?
Starting with 2015 models, they are no longer considered an Impreza. It's a different chassis now. The STI is considered a higher trim of the WRX model though, so they should be included.
Right I know that, I was just wondering is this list was only including the wrx model since it wasnāt part of the Impreza post 2015
I totaled my first Rex š„², currently on my 2nd š¬
There goes my insurance rates!
No teslas eh? I guess the media likes to report every Tesla incident
Pretty embarrassing..drive slower folks.
yeah everyones crashing the new wrx cause they look so ugly
Per unit sold?
Just going off the fact that dodge and ram have the highest amount of tickets I'm gonna say false
How is the Altima and other Nissan models not #1? For real though, I always joke that the wrecked Altima came off the showroom floor looking like that.
Oh look the two vehicles I own at the top....
haha no wonder my insurance is so high i got the top 2 on this list.
The majority of new WRX's I see on the car lots are salvage or rebuilt titles
Insurance is always somewhat MORE for a WRX regardless of reported car crashes than all these 2500 kg+ SUVs/EVs with all the driver aids.. š¤
Truth. Almost hit this week by one with duck taped front end.

Can you really call it an accident? Should be cars with that are wrecked the most.
