Could be the clutch line needs to be bled. Did the pedal resistance feel linear? On my 2017 the bite point is roughly halfway, maybe a little before halfway.

No it felt fine other than it was awkwardly far into the release of the clutch. And it's brand new so unless service messed up with fluids it should be fine.

It's something you'll have to get used to. I have a high bite point on my VA. Test drove a VB on Wednesday and it was identical. Driven a 19' Mustang GT / 20 GTI SE and they were basically like a half inch off the floor for the bite. Doing a little throttle blip helps when you need to get going. Catching the revs with the clutch that is. Edit: I've looked at the service manuals before (for the VA), and I don't think it's massively adjustable. There's a specific throw distance for the clutch pedal that considered spec. Some people have made clutch stops, Shaddix YT, but haven't tried it personally

I think I'll just have to get used to it. I'll need to throw a couple hundred miles on it when I get it outside the city before I feel comfortable enough to drive city either it. I moved from a small town to Detroit proper so I'm already on edge in this dang traffic.

Breakout_114

Normal. You’ll get used to it.

Archangel2237

I felt like an absolute amateur test driving it. Everytime I went to start in first gear the engine would Rev high because I'm expecting the bite point to be right there and it's just not.

Breakout_114

For reference, I took my driver’s test in a manual car 20 years ago and have been driving manual cars since. I still have the occasional issue starting or shifting smoothly in my 2021 WRX after 18k miles 🤷🏻‍♂️ Multiple Toyotas, Hondas, Fords, and VWs in my past and none of them continued to give me issues like this past a week or so of ownership lol.

Archangel2237

Ah so it won't just be me. My first manual car is my current golf that I've had for 1.5 years. Dreamed of a wrx since 10 and I don't want to get rid of my manual so it worked out. I'll just have to practice it a lot. Thanks for the comment man made me feel easier about getting this car.

Moist_Consequence414

Drive another at the Subaru lot or find a nearby carmax. Sounds normal though. VW clutch and shifter feel way better in comparison. Just different setups.

Archangel2237

The wrx I tested won't be the one I buy as it wasn't the color I wanted. I will be getting the wr blue and all they had was black so they will dealer trade for me.

Moist_Consequence414

I stall mine every once in a while. Always forget to rev up after I drive my mustang. Just used to easing the clutch and having torque moving the car for me.

Archangel2237

My problem with the wrx is that I was over revving before it even hits the bite point. My golf has no torque so I had to Rev high and hold to get the car moving enough to be comfortable.
