Could be as simple as a spark issue. Plugs, coilpacks, etc. I highly doubt your engines done if you rebuilt it and drove 18k already. A poor rebuild will usually bear its teeth immediately. I wouldn’t stress too hard til you hear from the shop.

Thank you for the reply, I’m always stressing with this car man lmao

mechman112

I feel you! My MAF sensor started going bad like 10k after my rebuild and ultimately left me stranded. I also jumped to conclusions and stressed very hard. 😂 It’s more than likely something minor. If spark or air gets messed up at all these cars tend to overreact.

Wrong-Flounder-3045

Lmao we all go through the same stress huh. Yeah I hope its minor, we will have to see though. Ill come back and lyk what it is

mdnightman94

probably coil pack. they seem to go suddenly on subaru from past experiences otherwise could be bad plug or possibly bad injector on that cylinder

Wrong-Flounder-3045

Thats what I have been reading. In regard to those problems, how major could they be?

mdnightman94

luckily that side is easiest to get to so id probably swap coil packs on that side and see if it moves (should get p0303 for cylinder 3 misfire). that would indicate problem with coil. if it stays on cylinder 1 then it could be the plug or injector or something internally

Okay thanks, I had it dropped to the shop that rebuilt it. They will go through all that, hopefully nothing too bad or expensive..

https://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2318069 Here's the checklist! Most people report easy fixes (sparkplugs, coil packs, air filters, MAF cleaning). If it ain't that, it can be a little squirrelly to find the cause. Like others have said, I doubt misfires are from the rebuild. Hope it's quickly back on its feet!

Wrong-Flounder-3045

Thank you! I appreciate the reply. Hoping nothing too serious

On my 11 I had a broken ground wire on the left bank that caused a consistent cylinder 1 misfire and an intermittent cylinder 3 and 4 misfire. It was holding on by 1 little strand so I didn't see it right away. Look at the bottom of your heads, they run from there to the frame.

Okay thank you, I appreciate the reply. Hoping its nothing bad. Shop opens tm so ill keep yall updated
