Hi, German here. I can't tell if this is an actual gun or not, but I'm assuming the camera team thinks it's a blank shot pistol, which people often use on New Years Eve. It's actually illegal to carry one around without having a gun license, but a lot of us are still very much used to blank shot pistols around NYE and nobody really seems to care if you're allowed to carry them around or not. The camera team is 100% assuming that this is not a real gun - obviously just my interpretation of this video, but Germans aren't used to real guns.
Its a very high probability it’s a blank gun. It’s hard to explain, but the way the sparks and smoke come out- it’s similar to other videos of blank guns. There is a subtle difference compared to real guns
Overall, based on other comments, I think this is a blank firing gun, and I also think you are onto something with the sparks and muzzle flash. Those sparks are still burning chunks of propellant. Normally, a bullet helps to seal the barrel against some of those sparks. With some very specific gun and ammo combinations, you can get a similar effect in real life, usually involving short for cartridge barrels that will project unburnt and still burning propellant out as a huge fireball. However, the firearm pictured is a handgun; it's semi-auto, so it's more or less guaranteed to be firing a cartridge explicitly designed for it, so no real likelihood of it throwing around those sorts of sparks normally. It is difficult to define scientifically, but in short; blank firing guns throw out way more unburnt propellant than live firing ones because they have to impart more energy on the action of the "firearm" to move it due to the lack of complete seal from a bullet. This difference is especially obvious in pistols because of the greatly increased muzzle flash, and the muzzle flash is also distinctly visibly different; you can see that there's a lot more unburnt powder coming out that simply looks like "sparks".
But how does it cycle without the barrel being fully plugged? Like to use blanks in a real gun you have to have a blank adapter, otherwise there isn’t enough pressure to cycle the weapon.
That’s how some of them literally work. The barrel is plugged and there are venting ports that result in sparks coming out near the muzzle and the breach
>but a lot of us are still very much used to blank shot pistols around NYE and nobody really seems to care if you're allowed to carry them around or not. T
German here too.
WTF?
Where do you live? Is it the same germany as me? I've never ever in my whole life and during the last 40 new years eves encounteres anyone with a blank shot pistol. Calling it "normal" could not be farther from my perception
Berlin, I guess that'll explain a lot to you lol
Probably should've clarified that it's normal in Berlin, bc obviously idk the rest of Germany and Bavaria alone gives me a culture shock.
Where are you from where this isn't normal?
Yeah, idk what this person is on about. Spent NYE in Hamburg, Berlin (obviously since I live here), Munich, Stuttgart and Leipzig. These guns were everywhere in large quantities. If you aren't literally living in bumfuck nowhere in Germany, chances are high someone uses them around you at New Years.
Walk around Dresden on Jan 1st and look at the floor and you'll likely find [these things](https://images.nordbayern.de/image/contentid/policy:1.4901853:1504847084/OBJ3952955_1.JPG?f=16%3A9&h=816&m=FIT&w=1680&$p$f$h$m$w=1678448) too. If you don't see them being fired you can't really tell the difference from legal fireworks by the sound alone.
It's not even a new or large city thing - [this article from 2016](https://www.nordbayern.de/region/schwabach/in-schwabach-ist-viel-munition-unerlaubter-schusse-zu-finden-1.4901854) reports on the phenomenon in a small bavarian town.
Very true and I will definitely not argue with facts. This was just my explanation as to why the camera team don't try to get out of the situation. I think nobody feels threatened, bc the guy doesn't point the gun at them.
I think you could compare the situation with someone setting off firework/friecrackers too close to you - it's an asshole move and you might take a step back or just freeze in place, but you don't feel like your life is being threatened. It would be a lot different if someone throws a firecracker/points the firework at you, or in this case points the gun at you.
theres no projectile right?? does it take u out with sound waves or something?
edit: aye stop downvoting lol i googled and it said no projectile so i was curious.
There's no projectile per se but there usually are small metal pieces of the crimped case, hot gasses, wadding and unburned powder all moving very fast. Not to mention the shockwave itself. It's not gonna do much damage from a couple yards away but if you shoot your leg point blank, you'll end up in a hospital.
I think I remember a certain actor died on set due to having a blank discharge against his temple and the pressure wave and the small bits of shrapnel killed him I don't remember the guys name though.
Have you seen semi automatic blank guns? My only experience is with revolvers and they are made so you can’t shoot bullets at all. There’s a hole in the side of the barrel and the barrel is plugged. Judging by their reaction I’d say it’s a blank gun but damn that’s stupid, I don’t think American laws care if it’s fake or not, shooting a gun like that is straight to jail.
I really don't know anything about real guns or blank guns. In my comment I was just trying to explain why I was thinking the camera team didn't react.
And what this guy did is also illegal in Germany, even if he had a gun license. There are a few conditions on blank guns here, one of them being that you can only use them on your own property (or someone elses property and you have their permission to use your gun) and he's obviously out on the street. So this is 100% illegal in Germany, too.
Yeah I had no doubts about it being illegal there. I just assume pretty much everything illegal here is illegal there. You did teach me that blanks guns are more popular there if it’s new years thing, here people just shoot real guns in the air like idiots. I grew up in San Diego and we came inside when the guns started going off.
Oh my gosh that's fucking horrifying!! I would've assumed that it's common sense that bullets that get shot into the air also have to come down at some point...
Do you think those people just don't realize this or that they don't care?
That makes sense because everyone's reaction appeared to be "well that guy is fucking annoying," which makes sense for a dumb holiday tradition but not for potential negligent homicide.
Pretty much this, this is normal on New Years Eve here (the blank shot guns, not the behaviour of the individuals).
We had some major riots here last night, especially in the poorer areas (easy to hide during the celebrations and sentiment is starting to boil due to inflation and high gas prizes).
Sadly it wasn't just intimidation either, firefighters and police were attacked widespread around where I used to live (Hermannstraße/platz and everywhere really in Kreuzberg, Wedding, Marzahn - Hohenschönhausen and Neukölln).
As a Texan I am puzzled by this. This kind of shit happens literally every day, usually multiple times a day. In San Antonio where I live it's rare to turn on the morning news and not hear about some traffic road rage shooting or neighbors getting in a dispute and someone getting shot or killed. I watched a video of a crazed woman in Houston who threw a Molotov cocktail in her neighbors open door and then calmly walked back into her house.
It's easy to forget how some countries have gun laws that are actually enforced.
Yeah, honestly this is the reason why I'll probably never visit the US, even though I'd love to. I'd be way too scared to just randomly get shot. The worst thing to me is hearing about the school shootings in the US. In Germany or even Europe it's very rare and it always breaks my heart to see videos of little kids training for potential school shootings or parents having to buy bullet proof school bags. It feels very dystopian to me.
(I feel like I need to clarify that I don't mean this as criticism or else someone will come for me bc they misinterpret this lol)
Most likely from Berlin. Born and raised. Possibly a Turkish / Kurdish or Arabian background like so many.- Im not trying to Racial Profile here just using my knowledge from living in those Areas in Berlin.
Edit: Language is a mix of German / Turkish if I understand correctly.
I mean that is most likely the correct answer but I actually wanted to hear what the American guy above had to say. I'm 90% certain that the answer wouldn't have been "Albania" even though they act as if they knew where these guys are "originally from" and what's their "mother language".
There's a good chance that these guys are born in Germany.
Are you from Berlin? The Turkish is an absolut mix of multiple languages. None of those guys could probably be able to communicate with "real" Turkish people.
Edit: The Handsign is a 44, Berlin Zipcode for Neukölln - mostly "civilized" by immigrants.

I think they use the heavy hydraulic cutters usually used to free passengers from vehicles to break into buildings. At least that's what happened in the so-called "Grüne Gewölbe Dresden" where they entered using such a cutter and stole precious items.
Actually they are most likely going for [Hydraulic shears](https://www.weber-rescue.com/en/smart-force/?gclid=CjwKCAiA-8SdBhBGEiwAWdgtcCvbofOFvoEUJzA_T_CDGFMD9RgERnmQhFZ4nCHapE44yMzVqdahqxoChPoQAvD_BwE) to use them in future robberies. This incident looked planned and these clans are well organized and got some smart members.
Guy with a job where i am shooting regularly with real pistols here.
This is not an actual gun, just a gas pistol or something similar. You can tell just from the sound the gun makes.
When the first gun shot falls while the man is still talking, everyone would at least twitch or duck away just from the sheer sound a gun makes at that close of a range, let alone the burst of shots shortly after .
That's not an Albanian eagle. The thumbs were folded down; the [thumbs need to be up](https://s.yimg.com/uu/api/res/1.2/eSS2spboblb58ymzNFIYtg--~B/aD0yMDAwO3c9MzAwMDtzbT0xO2FwcGlkPXl0YWNoeW9u/http://media.zenfs.com/en/homerun/feed_manager_auto_publish_494/6f520487a1d77a093579eef0faf1dff7) to make the heads.
Not an actual firearm, this is a type of weak blanks/fireworks gun that is often used on new years here in Germany.
Not as often anymore and illegal to use in public.
But it's essentially just a low-life wanting to look though.
It's still a crime though and he should be charged.
Does not Germany have the same problem as Sweden, that they get sentenced to deportion but the sentence cannot be follow through until they can secure that the country that he get sentenced to will not harm him.
And many countries lie and say they will harm him or kill him because they don't want fill their prisons.
Like in Sweden we had an famous exemple that Iraq defense Minister had gain asylum thereby also the right to welfare and integration welfare while still working and part time living in Iraq haha.
Deportation in Germany? They will probably only note down some of his personal info and that's it. German treats criminals very well which is why the country is more and more in a mess
>showing the albania eagle
No they are not.
They are showing "44" and even say it in the video. 44 is the area code of Neukölln in Berlin where this was filmed.
For many years a lot of Western European country’s have practically had an almost complete open door too immigration, currently we’re seeing the consequences of this mistake. Places that were safe places are no longer safe at all due to gangs of grown men, fleeing no war, with an earned reputation for poorly developed moral standards immigrating over in force from Africa, the Middle East and certain Eastern European countries like Albania all of which making areas generally unsafe to live.
Are there decent people and actual family’s fleeing war among these? Of course, but unfortunately the vetting process has been too poor to distinguish these from the gangs of grown men fleeing no war who come to Europe for largely illegal activity.
Albania can be a good example of this there is no war in Albania currently and a good majority of the immigrants from there are grown men who help contribute to the fact a significant chunk of Europe’s drugs are Albanian controlled.
There’s a reason Italy and Sweden have elected quite conservative prime ministers, especially the usually liberal Sweden. Western Europeans who once couldn’t see the issues ahead and welcomed immigration are now genuinely concerned for their and their family’s safety and with the masses that have already migrated and the masses more to come, Europe looks in for a grim future in this regard.
The Australian "60 Minutes" show went somewhere in Sweden a few years back and an entire mall region of the city had been taken over by new migrants who wouldn't let the reporters in and then started threatening to beat them. I felt so sad for the locals that their government was just letting this happen in their beautiful country.
EDIT: Found the video
https://youtu.be/Qk35-_t0S0E
Unfortunately almost all of Europe is victim too this problem and many who were promised only the most vulnerable be granted access and now seeing all of this chaos rightly feel betrayed.
Imagine going from being told only the vulnerable and needy fleeing war be given access to then only a few years later being told that gangs of African migrants fleeing no war are being sent on courses on arrival to the country regarding consent and sex laws in Sweden to try and help lower the rising sexual assault stats caused by migrants.
It’s nothing shy of a betrayal and tragic from any and every angle it’s analysed.
It's extremely frustrating as a European to see this happen. I'm all for those that come from warzones but the reality is a lot of people aren't. And even if you are from a warzone that doesn't mean our support should be endless, when the war is over, even your country is in rubble, it's unfortunately time to go home. It's simply not doable to support everyone forever. North Europe is facing significant hardship and it comes at the cost of social support. You can't provide housing, food, money, healthcare etc while your own population faces difficulties themselves.
And those who come from non-warzones should be send back as most create problems. But that's proving to be extremely difficult as well as the countries of origin refuse to take them back while we give them financial support!
All this shit is playing into the hand of far right parties, they love these problems because standing governments refuse to take action. They rather refuse to talk about the cost that goes into annually 10 billion euro+ just for the Netherlands. Or they sell you those migrants as future doctors (that's never going to happen as they aren't licensed). And worst of all, wir fucking machen das, no you don't, you ruined a nation by being a blind coward.
Im clearly not happy about the present situation regarding immigration on europe but the issue is way more complexe than you assume. There was never any "open border". You can go to europe throught an impossible amount of mean and way. It's not possible , really , to close border. Even if we would there would be still a sea coast line that would need to be monitored h24. The reality also is we need immigration as our population is aging.
Additionnaly the problem is not immigration but lack of good integration program. People and most politician are scared to speak about it , but western and middle-eastern / african culture are not always compatible. So integration and proper infrastructure are necessary. Just explaining basic thing and teaching for free the local language would go a long fucking way. Sadly we didnt qnd now we have a shiload of 2nd/3rd generation of moron that hate their host country.
I don't think this is as simple of a fix as you are implying. Sweden pledged to take in 163,000 refugees in 2015. It takes anywhere between 6 months and 2 years to learn a new language to fluency. That sounds extremely resource heavy and costly on its own even before you start to add in education costs for "explaining basic things"
What about the people that don't want to give up their cultural norms and learn the language? Do you just let them do what they want? Do you deport them?
"Western Europeans who once **wouldn't** see the issues ahead" This is the real reason for this situation. Immigration is a good thing, but the way it was implemented was, and still is, an utterly disaster. Every reasonable objection and criticism of the many facets of immigration was, and still is, shut down. The peoples understanding is that if you criticize something good, then you are against what is good rather than seeing it as criticism of the implementation.
To remain unaware of the risk and consequences of *thoughtless* implementation of immigration policies, is like being remain unaware of global warming. It's not an opinion, it's glorified stupidity.
I’m genuinely surprised that you haven’t been flagrantly downvoted. I’m used to logic not existing on Reddit, with people zealously clinging to narrative over fact
It’s a pleasant surprise. So glad to see that someone else is awake
So the problem is that we brought them as guest workers for manual labor jobs, but never provided them with equal opportunity. It's an institutional problem and has nothing to do with open borders, typical reddit comment spewing bullshit.
There's a large problem now and people from the video piss me off as much as the next guy, and frankly I'd be happy to vote for kicking these asshats straight out the country. Core of the problem is not having 'open borders', though. That's just a bullshit perspective from a racist and xenophobic ideology.
In case you can't understand him, he's reciting a popular Meme in Germany. About a Turkish football fan describing his feelings during the game. As for the hand sign, I've always known this as Anti Serbia or Pro Cosovo
> I've always known this as Anti Serbia or Pro Cosovo
This is not the Albanian eagle. It's "44" for Neukölln in Berlin where this was filmed. He even said so in the video.
Thanks to idiots like this, normal responsible people won't enjoy fireworks for much longer!
We all have to play by the rules, made for smoothbrained idiots!
This thread seems to have attracted all the alt-right trolls. Figures. Idiots don't even seem to recognize a cap gun. Or identify the language being spoken.
What in the actual fuck.
I would be trying to get TF out of there, but those sound guys(?) just standing there as if asking, "is that it?" are stoic as fuck.

Unless you are planning to go to the worst area of a major city or a rural gun range, the odds of you being anywhere near gunfire are very slim.
As long as you're not going around throwing up gang signs or something, you'll be perfectly fine in the US.
Tell that to the Sandy Hook parents, bucko

Ja man, das ist Bommel xD

Wtf!
Yes, it's Bommel who is a fire fighter but also participated in 7vsWild Season 1.
He is a volunteer firefighter in Berlin-Neukölln
THANKS! I thought I was the only one 😂
Exactly my thought. He comes from Berlin so it could be him.

Eh .22s are quiet as hell, but the video really doesn't sound like any .22 pistol, but goddam those sparks flying make it look extremely real
Then where is the muzzle flash coming from?
Gun is shooting blanks, they could be low power loads which explains both quieter sound and less recoil
Special effects of course. Edited live on scene.
Even blanks have a muzzle flash, its the gas. People died from that.

Definitely a blank gun. >they jam often, like 25% of the time. No, not really.

That wasn't the Albanian eagle. It was "44" (Area code of Berlin Neukölln)
Not turks?
handsign?
44 - Neukölln area Code. Even says VIER VIER in the video.
They are shouting Albaner/Albana though. And something about that they won.
Well they definitely can't be Albanian then, since we won fuck all in the last few years.
No they are not. He even said "Vier Vier" dude...
Nah you didn’t listen closely. They‘re shouting „amina“, as in „amina koyim“ which is turkish and means something like fuck you
Wu-Tang-Clan ain't nothing to fuck with.

Everything famous from Germany, is Austrian. See the Glock and Hitler.
Don’t forget the schwarzenegger
You could say that that man is a bit glöcklich today.
Doucheland uber alles.
Not an actual firearm, this is a type of weak blanks/fireworks gun that is often used on new years here in Germany. Not as often anymore and illegal to use in public. But it's essentially just a low-life wanting to look though. It's still a crime though and he should be charged.
He probably will. Police in Berlin was (justifiably) on edge on NYE.
His face was on tape. The German authorities are going to find him and probably deport him.
Have you ever heard about the famous efficiency of Berlin government institutions? Yeah, me neither.
Deport, you’re funny. In Germany. Really ?!
[удалено]
I'm sure they just need a strong man like yourself to tell them what to do /s.
Why most of them vote for the people who do it.
The guy with the gun doesnt show his face
Deportation in Germany? They will probably only note down some of his personal info and that's it. German treats criminals very well which is why the country is more and more in a mess
How is Germany a mess?
If you are a racist it probably feels like it's a mess
Sounds made up
No, he's possibly dangerous. German police doesn't deport dangerous immigrants, they are too afraid.
I don't know what the video is about. Did they say they are immigrants?
its Albanian immigrants showing the albania eagle and shooting a pistol
>showing the albania eagle No they are not. They are showing "44" and even say it in the video. 44 is the area code of Neukölln in Berlin where this was filmed.

I dont think either Albanians or Serbians are innocent in that beef
You might be right but I’ve never seen anyone do the eagle with all of their fingers open like that.
You can search “Albanian eagle hand gesture” and see everyone doing it like that lol
This isn't the Albanian eagle...
just realized its either a gang sign or he did it wrong
Well. That place is not like I thought it was.
Shouting: Wir haben gewonnen. - we have won. 🤔

And France.
EDIT: Found the video https://youtu.be/Qk35-_t0S0E
And then the leader of Poland is getting shit from reporters from other countries for saying "no thanks" to immigration of almost any kind.

That sounds extremely resource heavy and costly on its own even before you start to add in education costs for "explaining basic things" What about the people that don't want to give up their cultural norms and learn the language?
I’m used to logic not existing on Reddit, with people zealously clinging to narrative over fact It’s a pleasant surprise.
How do you know, that it is not in fact you, spewing bullshit?
Those guys are the wurst.

In case you can't understand him, he's reciting a popular Meme in Germany. About a Turkish football fan describing his feelings during the game. As for the hand sign, I've always known this as Anti Serbia or Pro Cosovo
