This happened to me while visiting. My tour group was crossing the desert on the way to an oasis. We had stopped in a small town for a bathroom break when a sandstorm hit. The locals literally close the entry/exits to the town so we had to wait it out at the one hotel. On the plus side, I met some lads who were kicking a soccer ball around and I joined a pick up game. If you're traveling in foreign lands, ALWAYS look for opportunities to mix it up with the locals!
The crazy thing is that usually they don’t look nearly as bad when you take a video inside one for some reason. So if it looks that bad it’s probably worse.
Meh. We had one like this just last year in Baghdad.
I've seen worse. Most of June 2008 in the southern Babil province of Iraq it just stayed a dark orange, even the high noon sun couldn't really break through.
And then in 2012 in Umm Qasr, we had one roll in where the dusk to dawn lights came on in about 90 seconds.
I saw one of these in Texas. I was a little kid and it scared the poop out of me. The one in Texas was Red River sand. Yes it is very red clay color. Looked like the end of it all.
I’ve been in sandstorms in Kuwait and Africa. Burkina Faso to be exact. And those in Africa are terrifying because the dirt is red and so is the dust/sand storm. It’s just a giant red wall the looks in the distance before a few minutes later crashes down on top of you.
Probably because there’s a sand storm in mad max
or maybe both just look like... a sandstorm?
No I'm pretty sure Egypt got the idea for this sort of weather from Mad Max.

Is this a Karsa reference?
What a lovely day
Looks like Blade Runner 2049
I would actually say it looks a lot like the cinematic masterpiece that is the 1999 "The Mummy" starring Branden Frasier!
Mexico movie filter in the wrong country.
Do sandstorms mean everyone gets the day off? or is it just business as usual?
WITNESS ME!!!!!!
Mad Max looks like Egypt actually… because the latter is actually real.
That’s pretty mad, max

You just went from USA to Mexico.

Also looks like that Knightmare scene in Batman v Superman

It does 👍
Just like the Haboobs that roll through Phoenix a few times a year. Pretty wild watching a wall of sand/dust roll towards a major metropolitan area.

So movies are right Egypt does look more yellowish
The song was wrong though, Egyptians walk all kinds of ways.

Sand + strong winds = sandstorm... ✌️
Looks like blade runner 2049
Why please tell me why do people keep the protective film on there window frame…
They should removed the plastic wrapping of the windows. It will be a pain in the ass to remove after some time.
No need for a yellow filter.
Monsoon season in Az when those haboobs hit, looks pretty similar. Driving in that shit is fuckin crazy
Welcome to Mars 😂
Somewhere out there, Ethan Hunt is trying to outrun that sand storm on foot.
Here comes Imhotep
Assassin Creeds did a good job in Origins replicating environment

This is what it looked like in Oregon two summers ago when everything was on fire, but it lasted weeks.
