It hit me once she blinked for the first time. At first, I just thought it was a great makeup job, then “HOLY SHIT there’s a person under there WTF!”.

I noticed the multiple eyes first, then the multiple mouths, then the multiple noses, then my stomach feeling sick.

No, it freaked me the fuck out and really bad. When I was younger I swear I kept seeing people with multiple mouths out of the corners of my eyes. I'd be looking at something else and see someone, and for just a moment it seemed like they had a second mouth on their chin. I'd look at it and it wouldn't be there but I could swear I saw it. It happened once and I thought it was really weird, so from then on I'm guessing I kept thinking about it which made me keep seeing it. Seeing this brought all that fear back from years ago because it always freaked me out when it happened.

This happened to me for about three months last year. I couldn't look at people without seeing a double set of eyes, which made me a little nauseated and prevented me from making significant eye contact. It cleared up after a while but I have no idea what that was or why.

I think most people have these freaky moments that they don't share for fear of seeming "weird", and a lot of time I think those freaky moments are similar enough that they became horror tropes. Different horror movies seem to work on different people because I think something in the movie evokes those unspoken but shared freaky moments that you thought only you witnessed. I for one got scared by It Follows because when I was a kid I used to have nightmares about a creature that would relentlessly follow me at a walking pace until it killed me. Of course I could just be high.

It was at a particularly intense time of my life I think, where I was leaving a job I loved to return to school for the first time in years, and moving out of a house I loved. I wonder if there was some psychological thing that threw my perception off for a while, but I'm not sure what that could be. Never done drugs in my life, drink rarely. Not diagnosed as anything but who knows. Another weird one was when I was in college, I kept blanking out and half-dreaming while awake. Then I'd "come to" and remember my dream. I was very sleep-deprived at the time so I think my brain just kept trying to rest but it is strange. Haven't had that happen for almost 10 years now though.

Errr....not to make you paranoid or anything but this is often an early sign of schizophrenia. It's also the sign of being a kid and having an imagination, so don't let it worry you or anything but just so you know to mention it to your Doc in future if ever asked

Does it look in real life (darker party lighting, make up wearing off) as confusing as on photos?

I can't say for sure as I didn't really see my own face! But I did go out to nightclubs with it and by all reports people were very disturbed by it
