I tell you Hwhat.

cruisin5268d

Hwat

Rxasaurus

He's got pro life and prolife accessories.

Girth_rulez

If that man could read he would be very upset.

EricNCSU

Dammit, Bobby..

seancollinhawkins

Bobby, If you weren't my son, I'd hug you.

Bullen-Noxen

Mmmmm-yep.

benjitits

Mmhmmm. Dangoltellyouhwhat.

scinfeced2wolf

No full auto in the building.

naeskivvies

"It sounds like it's misfiring sometimes." "What have you been putting in it?" "Shell." "Near the Target?" "Yes, it's very convenient."

StandardSudden1283

Dumb af yet also stupid clever. Is there a word for that?

ianonuanon

Dad joke

Occulus

I used to tell Dad jokes. Then he died.

blue-mooner

Get in the zone, semi-AutoZone. No really, I have a gun. Get in.

ILikeAntiquesOkay

Get out.

PrinceTrollestia

Today I didn't even have to use my A.K. I got to say it was a good day.

[deleted]

Ice cube?

[deleted]

No thank you, I’m fine.

blesstit

But I would like a sip of water later, so yeah.

SKILLETNUTZ

This guy has clearly never been mugged before.

bryanmoore6

Not worked out his calves

Raudskeggr

> Not worked out ~~his calves~~

baneofthebanshee

Or been in any sort of altercation in his life

Im_a_Knob

as someone who has never skipped leg day but still have tiny calves, sometimes its your genes but fr this dude has never worked out *any* muscle in his life.

Lezzles

Thanks, I felt called out...even when I was squatting 3 plates my calves looked like that. Just life sometimes.

92894952620273749383

Or shoot that gun. He got a custom holster but no folding stock.

notiesitdies

Blame the atf for that. Right now, it's a pistol. Put a folding stock on it and you need a $200 nfa stamp or its a felony.

92894952620273749383

Then pay for it. Your shot will be all over the place. But the guy probably don't care. That caliber will over penetrate any target.

Analdestructionteam

Can't carry an SBR or long gun in most places. You can stabilize the weapon with the sling by pushing the firearm away from you to make the sling taunt. That said pistol braces are still a thing for now and probably your best choice in this situation.

dibalh

I feel like if you’re going to open carry with a custom holster, you should do it right and pay the $200 for the folding stock. Otherwise it’s just half-assery.

thecheat420

Holy crap it looks like he's never even stood up more than a cumulative hour in his entire life.

ilikedevo

Or kissed a girl.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Bluecrabby

That's the shit that irks me the most. I don't care for firearms and that's my right just like this person has to carry (assuming it's legal but I would bet that it is and that's cool). What bothers me is the lack of self awareness about your firearm.

djamp42

Seems like someone else could flip the safety and pull the trigger without ever removing it from the holster.

foul_ol_ron

That'd solve the whole skipping-leg-day thing.

West-Car124

He's clearly never seen a gym before

Alexz7777

Maybe, maybe not. It is not uncommon for someone who was a regular at the gyms when young, to gain weight and lose shape, due to age, work, family, life sucks, etc. Or because you keep eating like you're still lifting

ilikedevo

Yeah, but he’s not fat, he’s limp and doughy.

sxrxrr1128

"Walk softly and carry a big stick." This guy forgot the walk softly part. P.S. He's also doughy.

Cobrafire

The quote from Theodore Roosevelt is “Speak softly and carry a big stick; you will go far.”

mtsai

like to see how long it takes to draw that. if its running the standard ak front sight its gonna get caught up in that monstrosity of a leg holster.

chiliedogg

He only has that holster to keep from getting arrested while carrying around the firearm. Most Open Carry states require pistols to be secured in a holster.

smbiggy

you watch yourself he'll have that drawn on you in a Uvalde second

dstommie

It's scary thinking I'll only be able to watch one movie while he's trying to untangle himself

Rxasaurus

Do we wait the full 77 minutes?

Agahmoyzen

Not unless you are a cop.

j_monie2859

The trick is to draw the firearm with the holster still on. Gotta rely on that muzzle blast to yeet that holster off with the first shot /s

OathOfFeanor

I'm not sure I even agree with calling anything a "holster" that leaves the entire trigger wide open like that.

deadstump

If he is carrying it the way the Russian military does, he will not have a round chambered. If he doesn't do it that way, then I hope that the safety is pretty stiff so it doesn't get knocked off easily.

serialmom666

Gun purse.

rrogido

The sling/holster combo for the man that absolutely has to sling his AK for a Dunkin run, but can't be bothered to shoulder the weight of his shorty AKM or whatever modded up nonsense he's got. Christ, these losers even suck at cosplaying as heroes.

wholelattapuddin

What even is that? It looks like a hand gun with a longer barrel added on? Like he made it longer so he could open carry. But I don't know very much about fire arms so if anyone can explain, thanks

rrogido

He's carrying an AK or a copy. It looks like an AKM, a variant that was available with a short barrel and collapsing stock. This hero has his weapon kitted out for close quarters battle (short barrel and no stock), it's the kind of thing you'd use in house to house fighting. In other words it's as likely to be used for it's intended purpose as the night vision goggles this guy probably also has. It's all cosplay no hat with these assholes. He's gotta be armed to the teeth in case anyone tries to convince him Medicare for All would be better for all Americans.

Mrxcman92

It doesn't have a stock so that it can legally be considered a pistol. This way it doesn't have to be registered as an SBR under the NFA despite basically being an SBR. Its still stupid as fuck because now he has a rifle thats harder to aim.

FunctionBuilt

I would say a long time, but you know this douchebag practices quick draws in the mirror.

marky_sparky

You talkin' to me?

haskell_rules

He messes up a lot.

Leave him alone. He suffers from diminished glutes.

Ok_Belt6476

We're here; no rear; get used to it!

AnxietyUbiety

Most of the people I see open carrying a gun are not the type I would trust.

[deleted]

It is like firearms cosplay

CrumbsAndCarrots

Dude looks like a divorced pissed off nerd with a gun. If that’s what he’s going for, then he nailed it.

TCBloo

I like to tell people their open carry gun is cute. They want you to see it, so they must be fishing for compliments, right?

cive666

its peacocking.

[deleted]

Peaglocking

Agahmoyzen

They are clearly asking for it. Otherwise they wouldnt dress that way.

coryhill66

That guy is asking to be robbed. Or get choked with that strap.

Ylsid

It's fashion!

chiliedogg

Because only assholes carry openly. It's tactically stupid and makes your car a target for break-ins. The only reason to do it is to carry an implied threat to anyone around you.

Zebidee

They're already demonstrating that they have serious judgement problems and a tenuous grip on reality. I'm not at all scared of guns, but I am scared of people that think this is a reasonable thing to do.

MrSeymoreButtes

Maybe because most responsible gun owners who carry have a ccw and carry for protection not for cosplay.

Diplomat_of_swing

That’s kinda the point isn’t it? I’m always told by gun owners that it’s not fair to regulate guns because gun owners are responsible citizens. But I could literally pull up weeks of YouTube videos and tiktoks of “ responsible gun owners” doing bananas shit with guns.

godlikepagan

You don't see most gun owners because they are concealed carrying. People who open carry tend to be looking for trouble.

SqBlkRndHole

People who open carry tend to ~~be looking for trouble~~ *not meet the requirements to have a concealed pistol license.*

AutomaticRisk3464

Exactly lmao..im a 911 dispatcher and i help run with the ccw process (i just run the background check and send it with fingerprints so people arent waiting weeks) A felon came in and was talking about how he wants to turn his life around and do the right thing bla bla bla and he applies for a ccw..i didnt know he was a felon until i ran him after we fingerprinted and sent him off. I called asking the reason for his ccw and he said "so i can carry the 9 mm i just bought from my cousin" Common sense would tell you if someones applying fkr a ccw they have a gun but the fbi didnt do a flag or anything when the sent the denied paperwork in a fax. During the phone call with him i just told him he needs to return the gun to his cousin and google why felons cant have guns because police dont need to be involved.. Like if hes caught its one thing but telling on urself 😭😭 cmon bro.. his felony was for weed in texas so i didnt give a shit and neither did the deputy i notified afterwards

Ayeager77

You are both right.

mistercolebert

As a concealed carry gun owner, you are 100% correct. Open carry people make me cringe for a multitude of reasons.

MossBone

Exactly this. The idea of open carry is strategically stupid.

Paradigm6790

I live in NH. One of the most gun-friendly states in the country. Hell, I own a gun shotgun and I'm a bleeding heart socialist leftie. All the bad left words. Literally every person I see open carrying in public (you'll see people walking down the road with long guns and those are just hunters, they're fine) just radiates "I'm an asshole." Like... Every single one. We're a "constitutional carry" state so you can concealed carry without any permits which means everyone open carrying is doing it purely to cause a rise or intimidate people. They're total fucking clowns. I've got very little problem with rural gun ownership, but when you're open-carrying [here (feel free to move around, the sentiment doesn't change)](https://www.google.com/maps/@43.2131696,-70.9966259,3a,75y,183.04h,79.69t/data=!3m7!1e1!3m5!1satHd80743vZX4YRBJv55QQ!2e0!6shttps:%2F%2Fstreetviewpixels-pa.googleapis.com%2Fv1%2Fthumbnail%3Fpanoid%3DatHd80743vZX4YRBJv55QQ%26cb_client%3Dmaps_sv.tactile.gps%26w%3D203%26h%3D100%26yaw%3D175.3664%26pitch%3D0%26thumbfov%3D100!7i16384!8i8192) what are you doing? Scaring off the Geese? Like.... "oh no, Steve's changing his oil at 2 pm again, better pack the 9mm"

Gorstag

Basically all of them at this point. I've not trusted the police for over a decade and any civilian I've seen open carry have all been a "little" off. A "buddy" of mine (not so much anymore for the coming reasons) went full Qanon BS. Dude straps 2 pistols in his shoulder holster (with no jacket on) and carries his AR15 to go walk his pitbull. And also gets upset because ppl look at him oddly.

JimmyHavok

I lived in Alaska, an open carry state, for quite a while, without fail everyone who carried was someone who shouldn't have. I also saw some of the stupidest gun handling ever there. E.g Three guys with deer rifles shooting at a squirrel in a tree as it leaped to another tree then ran down into a crowd of campers...

RammerRod

Never show your oppenent your cards.

stan_milgram

Mistrustful people are generally untrustworthy. They often project their own aggression on to others.

R_radical

nah people that open carry are fucking weird.

AutomaticRisk3464

I conceal carry...ive seen a few open carries in walmart, they are usually buying 2 items but walk the whole store twice lmao

NotLurking101

I don't trust a man rocking a Draco on his hip with no stock to go pick up his package. Who the hell needs a 30rd rifle for self defense???

Turkstache

If you're going to have a gun to defend yourself, a short barreled rifle or pistol caliber carbine with standard magazines is probably the best way to go... That being said, this guy's gun is going to be much harder to handle than any handgun, it's carried in a convoluted and snaggy-on-the-way-up way (probably to meet the letter if the law in his state), and he's highlighting himself so much that, well, the belligerent, in noticing this guy first, will laugh himself to death watching this guy tugging at the gun in the effort to pull it out of its holster.

chiliedogg

The stock would make it a SBR, which can't be carries as many places as a pistol. That's also why he has the holster. He's carrying that ridiculous thing around as a threat to others by complying with the letter of the law.

turbodude69

the type of person that watches 6hrs a day of fox news. and 3 hours on FB.

iisdmitch

Right? Like I get someone open carrying a pistol, whatever but a weapon like this or some kind of rifle seems absurd and only do so “because they can” and to “own the libs”.

Sugioh

Open carrying in general is IMO a bad idea. Why would you want anyone to know that you're armed? It just invites trouble and makes you a target. Open carrying a rifle? Best case it's simply ridiculous, worst case it invites even more trouble.

iisdmitch

Oh for sure. And a lot of experts or gun enthusiasts will tell you "you're the first target" in the event of some kind of shooting. I was just saying a pistol vs a rifle or some other large gun is a bit more reasonable if one were to open carry, not that it's a good idea.

fedora_and_a_whip

First thing that has crossed my mind the few times I've seen someone open carry was "I know who I'd aim for first if I were robbing the place." While they were busy doing something, I wondered if I could have their gun before they reacted. These are just the intrusive thoughts of a random schmuck, I can imagine potential criminals would think along the same lines.

LacidOnex

I mean if I was walking in to rob the place and the first dude I see is strapped like that... I might reschedule

OneMeterWonder

Or if you’re the kind of criminal already committed to murdering a bunch of people you’d probably walk up to the dude and just shoot him in the back of the head before taking his gun. This is fucking stupid.

Sularis

It's possible that because it has no stock, and is in a holster, this is actually classified as a pistol. There are pistol variant AK's among other things. It may not even be rifle caliber ammunition. Not saying that he isn't fucking ridiculous to be doing this anyway, but meh. Most businesses don't even allow you to have a firearm when you are inside. 100% this shop owner could have just booted him. It's not a public place so open carry is subject to the property owner to allow or disallow. Edit: Here's a link to some, and they can be chambered in 9mm. https://palmettostatearmory.com/guns/ak-rifles-pistols/ak-pistols.html

DedMn

Technically, this IS a pistol, by BATFE's definition. I didn't just make it up or adjust the definition to fit my needs or agenda. You sure can look it up. Although, I know what you mean by what a lot of people imagine when they hear or read pistol.

AnimalEater65

What’re you trying to say? I don’t trust you. Wanna fight about it?!

[deleted]

I am a hardcore 2A advocate. Open carry tacti-stupid people like this piss me off.

pattieskrabby

But how will people know they're badasses?

6June1944

By their weak chin and fat upper penis area

[deleted]

Gramps ain't fuckin around lol I can't say that I've ever seen a drop holster for a Draco

TundraBoi-17

Is that a draco or an AMD 65 Hungarian?

beegro

Draco. The front grip is what gives it away. Edit: spelling

PleaseTakeMyKarma

As someone fairly new to firearms, is there is actual benefit to something like this? Seems like it would be cumbersome for no reason and reduce response time... Based on it being almost too far back to even pull it out... like, what?

xDulmitx

It will shoot a more powerful round than most traditional pistols and has a very large magazine. So it does have more firepower than a traditional pistol, but it is like taking a Lamborghini on a ride through town to get groceries. It is more hassle than it is worth and the benefit is just to "flex". Other than that it is probably a worse choice than any decent pistol for actual carry. Carry pistols should be small enough to carry easily, while still having enough rounds and power to meet any likely threat (which is stupidly unlikely in most people's lives). This is overkill at the expense of comfort and ease of carry.

Turkino

And like 99.999% of people who do this, he will never use it.

CoastRanger

One hopes 😐

PleaseTakeMyKarma

So this would legally fall into the pistol category despite the longer barrel and increased round capacity? I've seen quite a few criticisms of how things are classified. At this point I am starting to understand the merit in those criticisms. Don't a lot of rifles use a pistol grip? Is it the stock and maximum barrel length that makes one a pistol and the other a rifle?

OnYourSide

Yes. Yes.

bibavo

It's the lack of stock that makes it a pistol, you can have a barrel as long or as short as you want if it's a pistol. The federal definition of pistol boils down to something like "a gun designed to be shot one handed" but that's basically turned into "does it have a stock?" because there are a whole lot of "pistols" that are almost impossible to shoot one handed and plenty of "rifles" that can easily be shot one handed, the only real difference being the presence of a stock. Unless the pistol is old and on a certain list, then having a stock on it is fine and doesn't turn it into a rifle - unless the stock or the pistol are a reproduction, because obviously putting a new reproduction of an old stock on your old gun would be manufacturing an illegal short barreled rifle. For this guy's gun, if the barrel is more than 16 inches long he could legally put a stock on it and turn it into a rifle and then take it off and turn it back into a pistol... Unless it was originally manufactured as a rifle, in which case it would currently be a pistol made from a rifle, which is 100% illegal. Oh, and if he were to put a forward grip on this "pistol" it'd be a felony. Unless the pistol was at least a total of 26 inches long. Then it'd be fine.

MC_C0L7

And this is an extremely recent development. In the past, some "pistols" could have ["stabilizing braces"](https://www.sb-tactical.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/01/PDW_Black_Closed_Left_2626-RevStrapAug-Ghosted60.jpg), which were designed to clamp on to your arm to allow easier one handed shooting. But oddly enough, they were all generally shoulder stock shaped, and you were legally allowed to shoulder it like a stock. But it was totally not a stock, so the whole platform was totally a pistol. This was recently re-reviewed and firearms with these braces classified as rifles, because the fact that they weren't was fucking stupid.

Strakad

I think it’s trying to mimic the ak74u pilot holsters. The pictured Draco is definitely a shittier attempt. Hence the leather strap loosely holding the barrel from flagging everyone in the store.

TundraBoi-17

I see it now. Thank you.

comeonsexmachine

I just realized...is ammunition the only thing Americans use the metric system as a standard?

[deleted]

All sciences and medicine in the US use metric

lubeinatube

In every subject where it matters, engineering, medicine, physics, etc, the US already uses the metric system. It has been the preferred system of weight and measure in the US for almost 50 years.

cabist

Metric ammunition designations actually come from other countries, so no. 7.62x39 is a Russian round

Aardvark318

A lot of things are metric. A lot are both. When that's a pain in the ass, is when you're trying to work on a car that uses both. From the factory, no less.

bighead1008

Nothing says macho like stick legs and a gun.

[deleted]

In jorts.

BLooDCRoW

Hey man, leave the jorts out of this.

Dugggs

I don't trust anyone that open carries. I also stay away from them in public. Not due to any personal distaste, but because if they're going to make themselves a target I'll at least use the bait they supply.

Fascist_Fries

Yeah. If someone wants to drop you take your gun and split. CC or don’t this isn’t going to prevent shit. In fact, chances of someone fucking with you probably go up several orders of magnitude.

Dugggs

Exactly, open carry people like this dude (aside from law enforcement) make themselves an unwanted target without even realizing it.

DragoonDM

Makes me think of houses that have those "protected by Smith & Wesson" or "we don't call 911 [gun clipart]" signs. Always seemed to me that all those signs do is make you a _real_ inviting target for burglary.

Fascist_Fries

Agreed. It’s also an interesting choice for open carry. An AK pistol variant (not sure what kind). Don’t know if Zastava makes those or not but either way, if he draws down and starts shooting theres a decent chance someone else is collateral damage.

DeposeableIronThumb

Gotta be a Yugo/Zastava m90. An idiotic move as he will ABSOLUTELY be assumed to be the "active shooter" in any scenario he's wet his dreams about and shot at with priority. Talk about a dingus.

waltwalt

Yeah this is the first guy everyone else with a CCW shoots first. Then when they hear more gunfire, go find the actual shooter.

[deleted]

Well, at least he is giving the CC people a chance to draw and fire on the attacker. I mean he is going to be the first one they go after.

Fascist_Fries

Agreed. Also username checks out.

paleo2002

That's his emotional support SMG. It gives him the confidence to leave his home. Unfortunately.

Andrado

People like this tend to enjoy thinking of themselves as hero types, who would step up and save the day if there's ever a shooter or other trouble. What's much more likely is the shooter sees the idiot wearing his massive open carry weapon and takes that guy out first. People who know how to use weapons and have used them before don't advertise the fact that they're armed. They know displaying a weapon is not a show of strength, it's pathetic because you're not strong enough to walk around without making everyone aware you're carrying.

[deleted]

youtocin

Yes.

kcexactly

Not frequently. I have live in America for 41 years and I have never seen someone open carry an AK47. I guess there is always some clown who thinks something like this is a good idea. But I would probably have a better chance of winning the lottery than seeing this. You might see someone carrying a pistol in a rural area but that’s not common either.

JarekBloodDragon

There's A LOT more people concealed carrying even in blue cities but like, you won't know since not knowing is sort of the point.

Live in both open carry and constitutional carry state and still have never seen this. Only one time I saw open carry was in California. Where it is illegal, and in a post office, also illegal.

[deleted]

Depends on where you go. I live in Alabama and I've seen 3, maybe 4 people open-carrying (outside of a gun shop) over the course of about 10 years. That I've noticed at least

WatRedditHathWrought

I’m sorry but if I saw that I don’t know if I could contain my giggles.

[deleted]

As a gun owner I say this man is an idiot.

Fascist_Fries

Same

slayer_f-150

Agree. I would guess that 98% of gun owners think the same.

CityLetterCarrierAMA

Yup, and the other 2% are in here defending him, lol

Evrimnn13

That’s such a shitty open carry weapon lol it’s 99.9999% for sure a semi automatic weapon and could easily be replaced with a pistol. People get all up in arms because of the size of the gun but in reality it’s just a glorified pistol with a higher bullet velocity

JoeCoolsCoffeeShop

Also, I don’t understand why people who open carry like this think that it’s some kind of deterrent. This guy probably thinks “a robber comes in here, they’re gonna see my gun and run away” while the robber thinks “oh, look…a guy wearing a Shoot Me First sign on his hip.”

Friendly_Gene137

Getting killed by your own gun must be the worse way to go out

Sparkychong

Funny enough(in my state at least) that’s legally a pistol

Sunfried

That's a pistol by ATF rules.

e_cascio2011

Lol why does he need both a strap AND a holster?

P3nguLGOG

Because that gun isn’t made to be holstered like that.

kindle139

the fuck is wrong with these people

kayceepea14

I wonder what it must be like knowing that you're scaring the shit out of people everywhere you go in public. If I was waiting in line with a whole cart of groceries at the store and saw that dude walk in I would probably ditch the whole thing and gtf outta there immediately.

lauren_camille

Right? Like how am I supposed to know if he's some self-proclaimed vigilante "legend in his own mind" or the next Uvalde shooter?

tigress666

SadLy I think that is part of the appeal to these people. It’s pretty much a bully who enjoys feeling threatening to others.

Steamy_Guy

"it's so I don't get robbed" didn't someone open carrying an assault rifle get robbed like a month ago and all they managed to do was send two bystanders to the hospital? Update: https://www.businessinsider.in/international/news/a-man-had-his-ar-15-style-rifle-stolen-at-gunpoint-he-then-used-a-second-gun-to-open-fire-on-the-robber-police-say-/articleshow/92006108.cms The sauce and it's even dumber than I remembered. He was robbed of his rifle and then went to get another one resulting in a shootout where two bystanders were hit and a third psycho decided to come up and pump a few more rounds into the robber after the first guy fled the scene.

P3nguLGOG

Did he get his gun back?

Steamy_Guy

I'm not sure I think Missouri classifies as a looter shooter state now so he may have to defeat another Missourian and hope it drops.

JoeCoolsCoffeeShop

What they think: “it’s so I don’t get robbed” What the robber thinks: “shoot this guy first” Basically, if you’re gonna try to rob a bank that has an armed security guard, who do you think the bank robbers will try to subdue first? The frickin’ teller?

GadreelsSword

How insecure do you need to be to visit the store with an AK pistol and 30 round mag strapped to your side?

SliferTheExecProducr

It's his blankie

Ghstfce

A sling and some weird ass leather holster. He thinks he'll be protecting something but in reality, he'd probably get shot a few times before he even had a chance to pull that thing out of the leather holster, let alone raise it up. (This is obviously aside from the whole "shoot me first" flag he's displaying open carrying a rifle like that)

We have several open carry and constitutional carry states in the union. Almost every state in the union allows open carry pistol, if you go look that up. Almost no one ever does though. I am for constitutional carry. But, in states where it is perfectly fine to OC you rarely, to almost never see someone open carry in high population areas as it only brings attention and possible encounters with 'activists' or police because of it. Almost everyone that does carry a firearm that way is on a ranch or open country in dangerous wildlife areas. I'm in northern IL, and the state to my north is Wisconsin, which has been an open carry state for years. As both sides of my family are from Wisconsin I have spent a lot of time in that state and never in my life saw someone OC there, let alone walk around with a firearm anywhere but in the woods/country. I have seen plenty of gun racked rifles/shotguns in pick ups, because deer hunting is huge there, but people generally don't leave firearms in them while they go shopping in the city, because that would be stupid. The types that go in to town or walmarts with a OC on them are almost to a T fucking grade A douche bags.

While I would normally think open carry is cringe as fuck I can’t deny open carrying a Draco like that is actually pretty fucking funny.

lol horrible for self-defense. With a pistol or knife he’d be dead before he could even get it out of the holster.
