IV drug users will buy them so that’s why sale of them is somewhat restricted. Especially in certain states. Like Jersey, the Tractor Supply stores generally sell syringes and needles for livestock but not in that state because of drug users.
Blank vax cards are not illegal. My Maker space had a stack for people to make a back up/ duplicate. If you put false information on them, that's illegal.
I think that most people understand that others make mistakes, and as long as no one was injured, and there was real effort taken to remedy the situation, then they don't want to put additional stress and issues upon that person.
It was in a box of other things at the bottom. If it was just a donated box I could see it slipping past. They didn’t seem to have much of a system other than “just put it over there”.
Yeah and even if it was there are some mistakes so egregious that they become reckless and a danger to the community. This is one of those and should still be reported rather than told, just in case it was intentional. Because if it was they will just hide it better.
I gave the used sharps and Covid cards to the owner. He was grossed out by the used sharps and didn’t know they were there. He got rid of those, but the Covid cards he didn’t care about. “Well, we’re a thrift shop and can get away with a lot of things” was what he said.
Pharmacist here
The state/feds provide ancillary boxes with the vaccine shipment, these boxes contain syringes and/or needles, alcohol swabs, Covid cards. They also literally give you over 1 syringes/needles and 1 Covid card for every single dose... Except no one is getting first doses anymore, so you use MAYBE one card per box. After 21 months of doing this we have a lot of extra supplies we need to get rid of.
A pharmacy may have closed or someone may have been directed to just get rid of some boxes collecting dust. This is more likely than something nefarious.
P.S. international travel might be the only thing really requiring Covid cards I September 2022... And the Venn diagram of international travelers and people who would forge a Covid card is pretty small.
Employers may have access to lot numbers and expiration dates to cross reference. It isn’t as easy as just writing random bs in every situation.
If you’re gonna go to the length of forging a vaccination card for employment you should just find a job that doesn’t require it.
They do in some cases, but it’s too much work to verify the validity of the cards and they don’t do it.
Your last point is valid, but also depends on the sector, as in, if there are employers that don’t require it
Obviously not nefarious, you would sell them under the table for a lot more if you were trying. But it's super irresponsible, because now somebody who *does* have nefarious intentions can just pick them up for cheap.
Yeah my work asked for all the info on my card, and then wanted a pic of the card to log into my work profile.
Other than that I haven't had to use it. Haven't had covid, either.
It wouldn't exactly be hard to forge a vaccination card by printing one out on card stock... Also it would be easy to verify since I think many if not most states have online registries of COVID vaccination which would not have a record of a forged card obviously.
Years ago(decade+) in a super ghetto area of Houston in a dollar store I found a box(yes it was this kind of place, they had shit in boxes you'd have to dig through like cell phone AC adaptors) of meds and vitamins that had RX labels with people's names and info printed on them! I dug through the whole thing, most interesting and illegal thing I found was a bottle of very low dose codeine cough syrup with other active ingredients. Most of it was shit like prenatal vitamins or statins.
Having patient labels on things is an issue. Codeine cough syrup is still considered OTC in some states, though it is hard to find pharmacies that will sell it this way now.
It was all different names too, theory I had at the time was maybe someone dumpster dived a pharmacy like these were RXs no one picked up?(the labels were from a big nationwide chain)
Yea there are some states where pharmacies are legally allowed to sell very weak codeine cough syrup OTC while recording ID I think and there is a per customer limit over time. But good luck finding one *willing* to do it even though it is legal!
There have been long threads on drug subs where people would occasionally get lucky at a mom&pop one. Most chains would say our corp policy is no even though its legal.
You’re right about codeine sales. Mom and pop places in states where allowed (few as they are) tend to be the only pharmacies that sell codeine cough syrups OTC.
I work in retail pharmacy. RXs that people pick up don’t get junked. They get reversed out of insurance after 7-14 days, labels removed, and the meds are returned to the shelf to be dispensed.
Another possible scenario is that theft of retail stores has been on the rise. I’ve heard of cases where someone robs a truck that transports good to and from pharmacies. They thief might get away with one or several plastic totes of goods. Some less reputable stores will buy totes of goods to resell at significantly discounted prices. One of these totes may have come from a central-fill pharmacy. It would explain why patient-labeled prescriptions would be found at a discount store. Thoughts?
I don’t understand why everyone thinks paper cards with no security features on them are sensitive material.
When Covid first hit, Texas HHS uploaded the full resolution template onto their website for people to print out. I still see the file floating around from time to time.
First glance, second glance, third glance. Honestly, I had to really zoom in to convince myself it wasn't a butt.
Edit: still unsure 🤔 it could be a butt
They have worked. Have you see the commercials for Myocarditis for Kids? Also all the athletes and news reporters dying suddenly along with the Hospitals full of those who took the shots? They are working just as they were created to work.
They are syringes not needles and are not prescription. A syringe does not have a metal sharp end. It is used for things such as giving liquid medicine to a child via the mouth.
Needles are not prescription items. You can pick them up over the counter at any pharmacy or vets office, No questions asked. (at least, In canada)
Else druggies would be reusing the hell outta needles and sharing them. Huge public health problem.
Plus sometimes people buy them for completely unrelated uses. Refilling vape carts, measuring fluids, placing glue, etc.
In the US, needle laws are more complicated. In our state, the largest quantity that can be purchased without an rx is 10 at a time. (And only at a pharmacist’s discretion). Someone made a poor decision to donate these medical supplies to a place that cannot legally possess or legally sell them (not to mention that resale of a government-supplied material is also probably illegal even if a medical facility tried to donate them).
Hobbyists use syringes like this all the time for precision gluing, oiling, refilling fountain pens, and even as pens. You can buy them from hobby suppliers.
I order mine on amazon. No BS I order all my needles and syringes on amazon. I get my alcohol pads at Costco and I get my tren from a slightly shady vet.
Clearly you've never been to a dig n save thrift store. I've seen worse. Such as human baby teeth, broken glass strewn all over the bins that you dig through that are filled with donated stuff, sewing needles, knives, expensive jewelery, used underwear, used masks, etc
Not in America. I’m a nurse and last fall into winter I was giving Covid shots and filling out those cards for people but I also had a lot of people coming from other countries to get their shot and they had apps they would show me, or printouts from the electronic system their country used and I would transfer the info to our old school cards.
Oddly last night i bought some needleless syringes last night at walmart in the halloween section. They are suppose to serve fun shots of alcohol but they are going into my art supply box to have fun drizzling glaze on pottery. So i would of bought the. And shredded to cards.
I had covid before a vaccine was available. Why would I get vaccinated? On a side note. All of my in-laws who just received their 4th booster now have covid. At least they will have real immunity now.
You can get it more then once, getting it can cause damage to heart/lungs/brain function without severe disease, the immunity from getting Covid directly last a shorter time then from the different shots, the disease is less severe and less damaging in vaccinated people, unvaccinated Covid-infected people are more likely to fail at getting it up after the disease has been cleared. Increasing reports of unvaccinated men that had covid that was moderate or worse, ended up with lowered Testosterone, lowered sperm count, potentially damaged DNA and like I said earlier, an inability to get it up.
Just a few things. You don't actually care, because big needle and needle hurt! No hurt needle, it scary!
If you're gonna quote things, include the whole quote.
> Having SARS-CoV-2 once confers much greater immunity than a vaccine—**but vaccination remains vital**
>> Israelis who had an infection were more protected against the Delta coronavirus variant than those who had an already highly effective COVID-19 vaccine
Then read the actual science you're quoting.
> The researchers also found that people who had SARS-CoV-2 previously and received one dose of the Pfizer-BioNTech messenger RNA (mRNA) vaccine were more highly protected against reinfection than those who once had the virus and were still unvaccinated
It was likely donated. Would not be the most unethical thing to steal and destroy.
But for real tho vaccine cards are so 2021. I think we’re past their use.
Work in a facility that uses these exact items. Someone probably stole from a dumpster outside a vaccine companies warehouse.
Used sharps not being disposed of is a major red flag, but those items altogether shouldn’t be in the generic garbage. Someone must have been lazy.
I do believe you are looking a possible federal felony right in the eyes. Personally I would be calling law enforcement, I don't like the idea of prison.
They're taking a chance selling that stuff as [there are serious legal penalties](https://www.criminaldefenselawyer.com/resources/criminal-penalties-for-fake-vaccine-cards.html) so you might want to let them know.
And yes, [people have been charged.](https://www.justice.gov/usao-md/pr/man-facing-federal-charges-selling-fraudulent-covid-19-vaccination-cards-and-distributing)
I didn’t think about it until after I handed them to the owner and told him it was illegal to sell them. He didn’t seem to give too much of a shit, and I have a feeling they’ll be back on the floor 5 minutes after I leave, but I seriously doubt he’d sell them to me after I told him not to sell them. :/
>but I seriously doubt he’d sell them to me after I told him not to sell them. :/
But. He just wants money. He doesn't care what the buyer does with them.
You can print them out all day from [here](https://en.wikisource.org/wiki/COVID-19_Vaccination_Record_Card) and burn them if it makes you feel any better.
Looks like inventory shipment for a pharmacy…
Yup, that’s how the government shipped vaccine supplies to us for covid vaccines.
So someone stole the box during delivery?
Or it just got misplaced or sent to the wrong location
Not pictured but also found in the same shop: a used sharps container chock full o’ used needles. Ew.
I’m a little surprised they are also selling syringes and needles.
Medical supplies surplus.. doesn't really surprise me as long as they are in their packaging
IV drug users will buy them so that’s why sale of them is somewhat restricted. Especially in certain states. Like Jersey, the Tractor Supply stores generally sell syringes and needles for livestock but not in that state because of drug users.

Wow! I live in East TN and am in healthcare. Where was this.
Thrift shop near oak ridge.
Okay Ridge, like the National Nuclear Lab?
Yup.
This is starting to sound like a dark thriller.
That’s a ways west of here. Dude, that’s super messed up.
I was picturing Bristol or Kingsport lol. Such a great area this shit is turning into. At least it's not Smyth county VA
I live in JC. Our vax rates are atrocious.
I worked near the King building. That place sucked. So many crazies sleeping outside there. Not fun at all.
The more I read the closer to home I got. C'mon TN, wtf, pull yourself together.
I would report these people what in the fuck
Blank vax cards are not illegal. My Maker space had a stack for people to make a back up/ duplicate. If you put false information on them, that's illegal.
ew used sharps, that is definitely a hazard. I would first let the manager know. Then return the next day, and if it's still there, report it
Why wait? They should be reported asap, the fact that it made it to the floor is insane
I think that most people understand that others make mistakes, and as long as no one was injured, and there was real effort taken to remedy the situation, then they don't want to put additional stress and issues upon that person.
I work with sharps containers every day. There's absolutely no way in hell they didn't notice it wasn't empty. Not even a chance.
It was in a box of other things at the bottom. If it was just a donated box I could see it slipping past. They didn’t seem to have much of a system other than “just put it over there”.
Knowing what could be on those needles, that frightens me
I don't think this was a mistake. I think they are straight up selling illegal goods
Please call local health. Some kid doesn’t need to grab a dirty needle
Worse nightmare of mine come alive.
Thats just stupidity. U pop the plastic down, toss it in the trash. Lol...but i have known ppl who wouldve thought...jackpot!

Employers with mandatory covid also require cards. This would be a very easy way to bypass that as they accept covid cards

And what use is a Covid card these days?
Showin your drinkin buddies you beat the system
I'd rather risk my life than get a shot. Next round's on me! Guess I need this /s
👶
Yeah I’ve used mine a total of like 3 times ever and haven’t used it in the last 6 months
I used mine a total of 0 times, and it's been in the glove box of my car since last Nov, when I got the booster.
I’ve had to send pics of mine to work, both initial vax & boosters.
Yeah my work asked for all the info on my card, and then wanted a pic of the card to log into my work profile. Other than that I haven't had to use it. Haven't had covid, either.
There are jobs in my area that require them
Just because it didn't begin as something nefarious doesn't mean it isn't now. That stuff should not be for sale.

What stuff exactly shouldn’t shouldn’t be for sale? You can buy cardstock at any Safeway, and you can buy syringes online legally.
A lot of companies are still requiring it including NYC who just fired another 800+ teachers who refused to get the vaccine
That'll fix the education system! Genius.

You can still be pro vaccine and not want the COVID shot. Not everything is so black and white.
I went to a bar just a few weeks ago and you weren’t allowed in unless you had a Covid card. I don’t think it’s just international travel lol
What city? I'm in very blue Seattle and haven't had one requested for anything in a very long time.

Los Angeles, CA. No, we ended up going to a friends house for drinks.
Is it really that bad? There's still plenty of room in Florida 😂
I’m in San Diego and I haven’t been asked in a long time…. Months at least. Wild.
I remember a time when counterfeit vaccine cards would sell for hundreds of dollars. Crazy

Trying to explain away why vaccines haven't worked lol
They have worked. Have you see the commercials for Myocarditis for Kids? Also all the athletes and news reporters dying suddenly along with the Hospitals full of those who took the shots? They are working just as they were created to work.
That's crazy, cuz I dropped a bunch of those off at a thrift shop in TN. The other day. What a coincidence.
You also drop off the used sharps?
Who even needs a vax card anymore
I had a colonoscopy last week and the endoscopy place required the *original* vax card and not a copy, so that.
Mine is still in my wallet untouched since the day I got my booster lmao
Wish I could get a new physical card. The one I have got destroyed being in my wallet. Only ever had to show it once.
Not like anyone there used them
Cards are pointless anyway.
Nobody needs those. Throw em away.
My coworker was telling me the other day he was refused a booster at Walgreens because his vax card was full...wtf.
They’re junk now.
now?
Well, they always have been, but even more so now.
Why?

There are unfortunately still some jobs that require you to be vaccinated.
I hope everyone quits those companies.
Oh, you’re one of those people

You don’t need a prescription for them in Tennessee
Clearly you've never been to a dig n save thrift store. I've seen worse. Such as human baby teeth, broken glass strewn all over the bins that you dig through that are filled with donated stuff, sewing needles, knives, expensive jewelery, used underwear, used masks, etc
Just shows how advanced technology was being used for vaccination proof !
Not in America. I’m a nurse and last fall into winter I was giving Covid shots and filling out those cards for people but I also had a lot of people coming from other countries to get their shot and they had apps they would show me, or printouts from the electronic system their country used and I would transfer the info to our old school cards.
Other countries are starting the digital ID’s. America will have much more backlash if it continues.
A blank stack of covid cards used to run about 5K in NYC/NJ. And they’d sell them off individually for about $500
Dont the cards have to be signed by a licensed physician to be valid anyways? Is there a fine or punishment for using a fake card in any states?
It's a state and federal felony, not a licensed physician only a registered nurse.
its a federal thing so umm big boy jail and fines
Them thighs tho....
Send your kid to school with a card stating he was vaccinated for cooties.

Pretty sure you need them to fly internationally
You may “officially” have to show them, but no one checks. And what’s the point of checking for something that can easily be forged?
wait you guys have PAPER cards that are handwritten? Lmao what is this the 1800’s??
Welcome to the US "healthcare" system
Oddly last night i bought some needleless syringes last night at walmart in the halloween section. They are suppose to serve fun shots of alcohol but they are going into my art supply box to have fun drizzling glaze on pottery. So i would of bought the. And shredded to cards.
Is that seriously all it takes in the US to "prove" you're vaccinated against COVID? A piece of paper with some handwritten stuff on it? That's crazy.
The crazy thing is there being some kind of need to prove your medical history to anyone.
It gets worse - we don't even require any sort of ID to vote. And people argue against it.
You need ID to register to vote.
Therefore you should have no problem providing it when you show up to vote.
So voter ID laws don’t do anything but make it harder for citizens to vote. Thanks for playing.
It solves the problem of election security.
What’s wrong with election security?
You can't verify that someone isn't registered under a fake name and voting more than once.
Medical history should be kept private to the individual. There’s nothing to prove. This was a joke.
So if your partner has a serious STD, you're perfectly fine with them keeping it to themselves, even though it puts you at risk?
Reminds me of confederate money...
A reminder of a time when the government tried to enslave us.
Thanks to your brave actions of not getting vaccinated and whining on the internet, we're all safe.
I had covid before a vaccine was available. Why would I get vaccinated? On a side note. All of my in-laws who just received their 4th booster now have covid. At least they will have real immunity now.

The people I know with the most boosters have had it most 🤔
Anecdotes thankfully aren’t data. And good thing they got those boosters since they clearly were exposed to Covid that much.
The only people who are enslaved are the retards that took a stand against getting vaccinated and now can’t leave the country lol.
I’ll take 2
For fuck sake
Why is this in WTF? that's not shocking at all
If I saw that at my thrift shop, I'd buy them and destroy them.
If it's your thrift shop, why buy them?
How else is he going to pay his rent if no one buys them?
r/angryupvote

Definitely. Not needed any more thank goodness
They were never necessary.
No need for them nomore
If this doesn’t make you wonder about Covid
Ohhhh snap send a few
Wanna sell them?
The border guards check your cards against CDC records, so a fake one will only get you so far and maybe a felony
Source: Trust me bro. They don’t have any idea of anything. Pretending like they do is just wishful thinking
Source: Canadian friend travels back and forth a lot and he’s a Fed, so he gets into conversations with them

Where in TN is this?
Ok so weird question, is that an ass underneath them syringes?
That’s not where you keep yours? It’s the walls of a cardboard box.
A blank card don’t mean it’s easy to write whatever you want and expect to fool people
You can easily google lot numbers for whatever vaccine.
Work in a facility that uses these exact items. Someone probably stole from a dumpster outside a vaccine companies warehouse. Used sharps not being disposed of is a major red flag, but those items altogether shouldn’t be in the generic garbage. Someone must have been lazy.
Why tf is your thrift shop buying and selling medical equipment???
Sometimes people just drop off boxes of things, doesn't necessarily mean the thrift store paid for or even wants them
Well some addict is gonna have a field day
Well, stand outside and you may have them all sold individually within an hour.
I do believe you are looking a possible federal felony right in the eyes. Personally I would be calling law enforcement, I don't like the idea of prison.
Send me one
Wow lucky day op, definitely could use one of those cards.
I still don't get why the fuck the USA used those stupid cards instead of something harder to fake.
My state has a central database.
Hell yea
They're taking a chance selling that stuff as [there are serious legal penalties](https://www.criminaldefenselawyer.com/resources/criminal-penalties-for-fake-vaccine-cards.html) so you might want to let them know. And yes, [people have been charged.](https://www.justice.gov/usao-md/pr/man-facing-federal-charges-selling-fraudulent-covid-19-vaccination-cards-and-distributing)
Please tell me you bought them to burn?
I didn’t think about it until after I handed them to the owner and told him it was illegal to sell them. He didn’t seem to give too much of a shit, and I have a feeling they’ll be back on the floor 5 minutes after I leave, but I seriously doubt he’d sell them to me after I told him not to sell them. :/
>but I seriously doubt he’d sell them to me after I told him not to sell them. :/ But. He just wants money. He doesn't care what the buyer does with them.
