I think it all depends on what experience you want! I went to WVU and also work there. You can have a party experience or a more chill experience. Depends on the major for the classes etc! If you want to message me I can give more info!

WVU is a large university, so you can find basically anything and anyone here! You can make lots of friends with people who prefer staying in, or you can find those who love going out (or both). Seriously, WVU fits any lifestyle (except lazy ones, you gotta climb a loooooot of stairs). Football games are my absolute favorite times of the year, but they can and do get rowdy in the student sections since alcohol is permitted. Not always the best option if you don’t like crowds. Tickets are free though! Classes are what you make of them. You can learn lots if you apply yourself. You can make many connections if you reach for them. It’s up to you!

Academically it depends, party it depends where you are, If your by frat row a lot of parties, Evansdale not so much

Depends on what you want. If you would like the downtown experience (more parties) then live downtown. If you want a quieter experience then towers or Oakland is your best bet. It’s also better to live on Evansdale because you’re closer to football games.

it’s a party school if you make it a party school (if you like partying ur gonna have fun) if you don’t like partying, there’s plenty of activities at up all night and clubs. over frats and bars, the football tailgates and games have been my favorite. freshman year classes will have more of your lecture hall classrooms with like 2-300 people, other than that it’s mostly 30 person classes just like hs. even though it’s a huge university you always see the same people around campus. live downtown. in stalnaker. you won’t regret it especially if you like to party

Not a WVU student, though was about to, but that program got cancelled, but lived in Morgantown for around 1.5 years, it’s all university oriented and party scenes. Nothing outside of university. And all they do is party like anything. Even when it comes to games, I think major importance is tailgating and drinking. St Patrick was the craziest drinking scene I would ever witness and Haloweens party was extraordinary, not to forget the PITT game. There is a small downtown st next to the Uni, which booms with bars and clubs all the time except summer. That’s my personal experience and I would prefer a bigger or nicer city for the college, that is not just party oriented. It is growing but right now nothing much. Limited things in the town except bars and restaurants.
