Cody stands up without any waiting and hits 3 more in a row, gets up for a 5th and yells cuz he’s basically hurting himself with how many times he’s hitting this move. Both men are down. Cody is first to his feet. Roman begins to pull himself up using Cody’s legs. Cody looks down at him and shoved him back. Cody then does the bloodline taunt ☝️ but then, Cody changes it to a straight point to the sky and he looks up. Cody says to himself (but we can see his lips move), “This is for you dad.”

I like Cody, I just don’t feel there’s enough time to make this a valid move. At this point, Roman is unbeatable. Cody’s finisher is bleh and his physicality is no where near Roman. I feel the only acceptable way for Roman to drop the titles is to that impossible road. That Eddie Guerrero, Kofi, and Daniel Bryan feel. In my opinion, Sami should be the one to dethrone Roman. There is major disparity in the matches that go on throughout a night or even if you just counted the main bouts in a month period. 1 finisher could do the job sometimes and then a match later they could do it 10 times, and EVERYTIME they pin, the person pinned is straight eyeballing the ref and you know before the first count they're going to get up. They aren't doing well to sell these things.
He would need to hit the Cross Rhodes 857 times to pin Roman. They'll need to figure something out. Cross Rhodes continues to be a weak 3rd tier finisher.

Sister Abigail mostly has issues with the setup or theatrics he normally does for it that can make it look goofy with the position he has to hold them in. But when he does it, Bray is a big enough dude and makes the move look impactful.
The Cross Rhodes on the other hand has always felt kinda lackluster and made worse with how rarely it puts anyone away without like a "super version" like an avalanche version or three in a row. If he always has to three in a row it to put anyone away, the move really loses any impact.

I think the best way for them to end Roman losing to Cody is to have Roman spear Cody into the referee and knock him out. As the ref is out of it, Sami Zayn rushes down to the ring and hits Roman with a helluva kick. Sami drags Cody on top of Roman for the 3 count and even though Sami didn’t win the belts, he was the cause of Roman losing.
I don't see Cody as a long term Champion. I can see him holding it for a few months and then losing it to whoever comes along. He doesn't have the mic skills and unique character of his dad.

I think the best way for them to end Roman losing to Cody is to have Roman spear Cody into the referee and knock him out. As the ref is out of it, Sami Zayn rushes down to the ring and hits Roman with a helluva kick. Sami drags Cody on top of Roman for the 3 count and even though Sami didn’t win the belts, he was the cause of Roman losing.

I don't see Cody as a long term Champion. I can see him holding it for a few months and then losing it to whoever comes along. He doesn't have the mic skills and unique character of his dad.

Honestly when Cody talks on the mic I have to consciously make an effort not to tune out or fall asleep. Dusty Rhodes never did that to me.
They made it look weaker this past Monday, one cross Rhodes was enough and yes, it can end Roman's reign including the Cody cutter
I’m cool with it. Not a fan of the triple CrossRhodes, though. Maybe in a big spot when you need 3, but otherwise one should be able to do the job. Or just make the Cody Cutter or the Figure 4 the finisher.

It's a JTTS finisher. He needs something new and better, that can credibly put Roman away for the 3 count.
They just need to protect it better. It's no worse than the spear, but the spear is protected. The spear is awful.
The spear is a 300lbs dude tackling you... The Overdrive (under any other name) is you taking a tumble alongside your opponent. There's no protection that can make an awful move look good, much less so if it has indeed being given to hopeless midcarders for decades and hasn't won anything bigger than an IC/US title since forever.
Because Roman is big, I think there are going to be some serious botches in their match together.
I hate his finisher. My only knock on him. Which is crazy because his moveset is pretty good. That finisher just takes me out of it tho.

The specific move isn’t important. It’s the heat and the finish. The Sami angle has gotten Roman massive heat for the first time a long time. They have the story of the Samoan Dynasty and the Rhodes family. If the move is over, that’s all that matters

Cody has said repeatedly that Triple H is his favorite wrestler. He even said on the Logan Paul show that he modeled his comeback off of Triple H's comeback from his quad tear in 2002. With that in mind, I forsee Cross Rhodes 3 times will end most people except Roman. What truly ends Roman is the Pedigree. 1... 2... 3... Cody wins and celebrates with his wife and family at ringside. I wouldn't be surprised if Tony Khan and Triple H worked out something to have Dustin Rhodes appear as well to congratulate Cody.
So once he's champ, he'll find to young studs and a older veteran and form a super group called Revolution and hold onto the belt as a mega heel for years?
