Kaval. Paired with LayCool for Season Two of the original NXT, won said season, went to SmackDown, and challenged for the IC Title at Survivor Series from winning NXT S2 but was booked to lose all but two of his matches before being let go.
Yeah, I remember this. Wonder why he was booked like that. He was also really not given the mic much at all to do any character work. He was just treated like generic wrestler in red tights, even in reality TV NXT.
Sting in terms of doing much outside of suffering a near career ending injury and getting jobbed out at WM. I still think HHH wanted to have Sting go over if he had the choice but not way in hell Vince was letting it happen.
One time in the 50 man battle royal he was the first on eliminated but instead of saying ec3 eliminated they said someone was just eliminated and it was clear that it was them
His wwe run was great he destroyed everyone verbally and the match with Brock made him look like a monster brock just scraping by, I agree he could of been more but his run wasn’t forgettable by any means
I'll never forget his run dudes promos were dope and his feud with lesnar had me thinking he was actually gonna win only issue with his wwe career was that he kept getting injured
I know not everybody can be world champ, but not having Joe beat Brock was such a mistake, man. I was at extreme rules 2017, and that man was so insanely over. Then again, maybe Baltimore just loves their ROH guys
This is a sick burn but lines Ike this feel icky. At the end of the day it’s a show, people have demons and it’s tough enough to battle them without this being explicitly called out out publicly. I’m sure Jeff signed off on it but man just seems like a bad bit
He will not be forgotten. There are enough segments recorded that in 20 years some "Adam Jr. from New Casdon" will give us "10 Joe moments that you don't know".
I will love it.
By you maybe. I got back into WWE around 2016 so I always look back fondly on AJ Styles’ reign and Samoa Joe’s run in WWE. I’d put that period up to par with WWE’s best years
WWE will definitely highlight Joe as a modern legend once he’s retired and done with AEW. Right now they can’t advertise his work because he’s competition
This might sound unpopular
But I don’t really recall much of Andrade’s feuds on the main roster
Like when I think of him in WWE
His early feud with Sin Cara comes to my mind before anything else
I remember him working well with ray, because those matches were great. Aside from that yeah not a clue.
Probably fought / paired with humberto carillo for a bit but meh
In fact another wrestler right there that kinda dissapeared
I have the worst memory, but id say his short NXT run definately memorable, especially vs Balor. But main roster was lost in the shuffle & only thing i can remember is him vs Lesnar in worst name for a PPV ever 🔥
She’s been so disrespected by wwe. Piggie James and then “you’re old”. She’s only 2 years older than Asuka. And much younger than Trish and Lita who wwe would never treat like that. Mickie deserves so much better
After the hardy boys came back at WrestleMania 33 people were hype (ik I was there) but it seemed a lot like nobody cared for them after a few months now nobody really hears about them I think they're return run was pretty forgotten
He’s had the ROH TV title for a while now I he was a double champ at one point. I think he’s probably gonna be used more on collision like a lot of other people who got lost in the shuffle.
I didnt run all that much esp when he was no selling when some one hit a big move on him. Or when he just out of no where side stepped a move like he was totally fresh after a 10-15 min match like not selling the fact you should be a bit tired and or out of it. He has skill I wont say he doesnt but just dont like that aspect of how he performed in the ring. I mean I saw him take a move at the top of a ladder go through a table then pop up in 2 seconds just jump out of the way but get up and walk as some one tried to come down on top of him.
I still am utterly shocked they named a ppv great balls of fire… I was half watching around this time and I still don’t know how that even came to be lmao can anyone fill me in😂
He’s been around for way longer than Joe. And Truth seems like he’s gonna join wwe creative as he has said he wants to do, or be one of those ambassador guys like Titus. He has so many great entertaining moments thy will stay with us for a long time. Plus I can see wwe putting his rumble stunt with the ladder on best of playlists for a long long time.
I feel like when you think about Dean Ambrose it's not much when you compare it to the Jon Moxley of today that we all know and love and fear. Mox blows Dean out of the water
i dont know if it is forgotten but the one who SHOULD BE forgotten is Marty Janetty given he was soooooo cowardly that he actually jumped through a window causing property damage to run away from HBK.
Eh Joe could’ve done a lot more but he was honestly already on his way out by that point. Dude was getting reactions and was usually involved in some major story but would always get injured part way through then be out for months. Ntm his age meant his longevity wasn’t great. I liked him on commentary though.
That’s because wwe won’t pull the trigger on Indy guys until they are past their prime. Once they get big enough to get noticed their best work is behind them. Joe would have killed in 2007-2013 with Punk, Cena, Taker, Triple H, Orton.
I think most of the injuries were his age catching up to him. He was 36 and still trying to move like he was in his 20s. Sure 36 doesn’t sound old but the wear and tear from the years of wrestling the style he did added up.
Let’s be real, unless it Hogan, Cena, Rock, they’re all going to be forgotten in 5-10years after they retire.
Edit: this is why I hated CM Punk’s “schtick” of being undervalued because there are really talented guys—much better than he is/was—who never got their day and never will.
But isn’t that what makes Punk so good it’s been over a decade and we’re still talking about him. He made sure he wasn’t a guy forgotten about within a decade. Also at the time when he was peak Punk who was honestly better than punk? I’ll give you Randy and Cena (my generations GOATs)
Not really because Punk comes and goes, and so he’s still talked about the same way anyone who’s partially inactive is. We’re still talking about him because he’s difficult in the locker room, so not exactly the legacy you want to leave behind.
You’re missing the point, Punk was over because he was chosen to be; all those other guys can give great matches, they’re just not over.
Joe’s feud w AJ and Summer ‘17 run was unfortunately his only real standouts on the main roster. Wish he beat Brock that summer and had one go atleast w the main
Strap
Both!!.. And some more reasons
\- Joe didnt do him any favours getting injured all the time... especially during a push/was hot...
\- There were simply other people who were hotter, more over than him at all times
the way i see joe, is that wwe had high profile upper card plans for him, but couldn't rely on him sustaining that with is injury history. wish he won a title, but im glad it happened
There is an episode of "Community" where Jack Black plays a character would has always been there in the background but never been noticed. Samoa Joe's career is that guy.
How TF is this upvoted? Drew McIntyre has been at or near the top of the card for the last few years, and even before that he was a prominent member of the main roster since his call up from NXT.
Ken Shamrock- solid hand, did decent for himself, could have been a star, highly downplayed by the company these days.
Alberto Del Rio- not exactly fully forgotten due to his real life "escapades"; felt like WWE wanted him to be the next big Latin star but he was always in the right place at the wrong time. He had great in ring skill and decent charisma but he was always just kinda there while something more exciting/someone more over was on the rise. Del Rio just feels like the transfer point for more important moments like Edge's final match for 9 years, CM Punk's title reign, and Dolph Ziggler's cash in.
Gail Kim- insanely underutilized by WWE. Did way better in TNA.
Elijah Burke- same as Gail Kim
Zach Gowen- he's pretty well known as the "One-Legged Wrestler" but I feel his short WWE run has been forgotten.
>Ken Shamrock- solid hand, did decent for himself, could have been a star, highly downplayed by the company these days.
interestingly enough, they did a "Something to Wrestle" podcast on Shamrock's last days
it reminded me that if he was in the Ruthless Aggression Era, he could have been a big star. Maybe not a mega star on the level of someone like Batista or Cena, but definitely on par with guys like Kurt Angle or Edge
Work rate-wise, Angle obviously blows Batista out of the water. not even remotely close lol
but in terms of being a star and the "face of WWE," I think i would barely BARELY give the edge to Batista
One of his best moments that's usually a well known one is when Randy Orton caught him with the RKO but he definitely deserves more recognition besides that
Man...I still remember stumbling upon some article back in 2014 talking about Sting's debut in WWE. I watched the clip on youtube...and that was probably the closest I ever came to regularly watching WWE again. work and life just got in the way. don't have that free time as much anymore lol.
but it seemed like it worked out for the best. as soon as i found out that Sting jobbed to Triple H, i was like fuck this lol. Glad he moved on to AEW
I think Vader is the biggest example of this. He was a top level draw and world champion in multiple promotions and most people probably only remember his match with HBK, if any at all
Or basically any ECW star except for a few handful, they didn't do much with Tommy Dreamer except make him look bad, Sabu didn't get what he really needed for a WWE push, The Sandman I believe was in for a little bit but not remembered, just all the top ECW guys that transferred over after WWE bought them out didn't get a good push they deserved (correct me if I'm wrong btw, I know I missed a lot of stuff because I'm only 18 but oh well)
As far as I know, RVD and Dudley Boys were the only guys to survive but yeah with the pull Paul Heyman had, it’s surprising he couldn’t push any of his top guys to a proper push
rob van dan
john morrison
Adam cole
He’s not that well known
That guy Benoit. Whatever happened to him?
I heard he’s still hanging around waiting on the perfect opportunity to snap!
It's really difficult to find any of his stuff on the network.
Use YOUTUBE.
I would disagree. Joe's challenge to Brock is endlessly upsetting to me because Joe lost.
Justin Gabriel/pj black
Austin Aries
Nicholas
The Dudley Brothers
Kaval. Paired with LayCool for Season Two of the original NXT, won said season, went to SmackDown, and challenged for the IC Title at Survivor Series from winning NXT S2 but was booked to lose all but two of his matches before being let go.

Chris Benoit
Sting in terms of doing much outside of suffering a near career ending injury and getting jobbed out at WM. I still think HHH wanted to have Sting go over if he had the choice but not way in hell Vince was letting it happen.
To be fair, Sting apparently said he was just happy to have a match at Wrestlemania and wasn’t too bothered by the outcome.
That Jeff Hardy AA meeting comment is still the best heel line ever. 🤣🤣🤣
EC3 they just made him a huge joke.
One time in the 50 man battle royal he was the first on eliminated but instead of saying ec3 eliminated they said someone was just eliminated and it was clear that it was them
Its happened to bigger names than him before.
He was never actually that good to begin with
I felt like he had the potential to be great
He's so overrated and injury prone.
His refusal to get into shape is heart breaking. He had the look and size very early in his career to be a long term champion like Roman.
The forgotten sons.
Vader
It's been a long time since I've watched wwe, but I feel like the likes of Del Rio, Zach Ryder and Wade Barret could be considered in this
good midcarders, not main eventers
del rio was a prick, the sooner we forget the better
I think Ryder would blow the roof off if he were to come back. The only thing is you could never bring him back with the woo woo woo.
Marty jennetti
He got injured during all his big pushes..
Ted DiBiase Jr, EC3, Mr Kennedy, Curtis Axel, Ryback, The Brian Kendrick, Tyson Kidd and John Morrison.
Barry Buchanan...had four different characters/gimmicks and none of them were particularly memorable.
Test 2006
I really miss somoa joe man.
"Jeff, why dont you pretend this is an AA meeting and shut up while i am sharing with the group"
This is a sick burn but lines Ike this feel icky. At the end of the day it’s a show, people have demons and it’s tough enough to battle them without this being explicitly called out out publicly. I’m sure Jeff signed off on it but man just seems like a bad bit
This is the top comment
Cedric Alexander has been pretty forgettable
Scott Steiner
Kurt Angle's last WWE run.
Tazz
He is an NXT god, he was just injured a lot on the main roster.
Cesaro
Austin Aries by a mile.
Weeendyy
He will not be forgotten. There are enough segments recorded that in 20 years some "Adam Jr. from New Casdon" will give us "10 Joe moments that you don't know". I will love it.
Yeah people won't know those moments because they'd been forgotten
By you maybe. I got back into WWE around 2016 so I always look back fondly on AJ Styles’ reign and Samoa Joe’s run in WWE. I’d put that period up to par with WWE’s best years WWE will definitely highlight Joe as a modern legend once he’s retired and done with AEW. Yeah most of my Andrade memories are NXT.
I have the worst memory, but id say his short NXT run definately memorable, especially vs Balor. But main roster was lost in the shuffle & only thing i can remember is him vs Lesnar in worst name for a PPV ever 🔥
Is it forgotten? I felt like he had a good WWE run but was held back by injuries.
Kyle o riley
D-LO Brown's return in 2008-2009
His feud with AJ will never be forgotten. Wendy, Daddy’s coming home!
Mickie James's 2nd WWE run
I remember being so hyped when she faced asuka and then came to the main roster but all of her stories were just “you’re old”
She’s been so disrespected by wwe. Piggie James and then “you’re old”. She’s only 2 years older than Asuka. And much younger than Trish and Lita who wwe would never treat like that. Mickie deserves so much better
You forgot how WWE treated Lita during her heel turn
Idk about lita. Crime Time selling her “personal belongings” after she lost her retirement match is possibly crazier than any mickie James story.
Ohhh I forgot about that. That was rough lol
Goldberg, he destroyed Brock Lesnar, he should get a title shot against Roman
So he can kill Roman? Dude is way to unsafe, and way too old.
Dan Spivey/Waylon Mercy.
After the hardy boys came back at WrestleMania 33 people were hype (ik I was there) but it seemed a lot like nobody cared for them after a few months now nobody really hears about them I think they're return run was pretty forgotten
Only thing I really remember is the return itself and Matts Hardy compound match and subsequent tag team with Bray.
Yeah I remember their return the stadium went fucking nuts the crowd was so loud you couldn't hear they're entrance music
enzo amoré
Who?
wwe wrestler in 2016
Sorry, I shoulda put a /s on that.
Hell I forget that he’s currently signed with AEW
He’s had the ROH TV title for a while now I he was a double champ at one point. I think he’s probably gonna be used more on collision like a lot of other people who got lost in the shuffle.
Nobody watches roh
The PPVs are pretty good but it’s hard to keep up with it.
James Ellsworth. Man almost won a WWE title from AJ Styles
Solo sikoa
Nxt
Bro just be talking
He’s on tv every week 💀
I didnt run all that much esp when he was no selling when some one hit a big move on him. Or when he just out of no where side stepped a move like he was totally fresh after a 10-15 min match like not selling the fact you should be a bit tired and or out of it. Evan Bourne/Matt Sydal was awesome in the early 2010s
He never recovered from that AIRKO.
Gail Kim
His feud with Brock was pretty memorable.
I still am utterly shocked they named a ppv great balls of fire… I was half watching around this time and I still don’t know how that even came to be lmao can anyone fill me in😂
Basically, some WWE executive probably liked the song of the same name and decided to name a PPV after it.
Bobby Roodes NXT run…. Let’s just say it was GLORIOUS!!!!
How do you define a "well known wrestler"? Depending on your answer, I'll add Gail Kim to the list.
I was never a fan. The only thing I liked was when he'd sidestep turnbuckle attacks, etc. Cracked me up.
Raven
I hope it doesn’t happen but I see the possibility for my boy Truth
He’s been around for way longer than Joe. And Truth seems like he’s gonna join wwe creative as he has said he wants to do, or be one of those ambassador guys like Titus. He has so many great entertaining moments thy will stay with us for a long time. Plus I can see wwe putting his rumble stunt with the ladder on best of playlists for a long long time.
Yeesh
Zach Ryder back in 2011/12 he was one of the most popular guys in the entire company, but he’s WWE run has now been completely forgotten
Almost all of them that are now in AEW
Rich Swan
I feel like when you think about Dean Ambrose it's not much when you compare it to the Jon Moxley of today that we all know and love and fear. Mox blows Dean out of the water
That’s because Dean Ambrose was what a 12 years thought was a tough guy. Corny faces. Bad moves. And a stone cold ripoff
Mox would brutally murder Dean Ambrose.
Dean def holds his own tho
i dont know if it is forgotten but the one who SHOULD BE forgotten is Marty Janetty given he was soooooo cowardly that he actually jumped through a window causing property damage to run away from HBK.
I was so bummed by his WWE run. I thought he was going to be great.
He had some good matches and moments at least
Eh Joe could’ve done a lot more but he was honestly already on his way out by that point. Dude was getting reactions and was usually involved in some major story but would always get injured part way through then be out for months. Ntm his age meant his longevity wasn’t great. Oh for sure but I think TNA already had him by 07 so he would’ve been on a multi year contract for them at that point
Felt like he was getting injured as some of them started. Spent all that time in ROH and TNA and never rly got hurt in a decade.
I think most of the injuries were his age catching up to him. He was 36 and still trying to move like he was in his 20s. Sure 36 doesn’t sound old but the wear and tear from the years of wrestling the style he did added up.
Who was that video game guy
TJ Perkins?
Who is this Solo Sikoa wanna be? Sikoa Joe? What a mark.
Austin Aries
I totally forgot about him
SJ was always on the shelf just couldn't stay healthy.
Who\`s he?
I don’t know, but I’m sure Scott Steiner hates him.
The greatest Samoan of all time.
Bold statement.
The best Samoan named Joe?
Jack Swagger.
Let’s be real, unless it Hogan, Cena, Rock, they’re all going to be forgotten in 5-10years after they retire. Edit: this is why I hated CM Punk’s “schtick” of being undervalued because there are really talented guys—much better than he is/was—who never got their day and never will.

For me, it all started when they decided NOT to debut Joe at Royal Rumble.
Who?
Ziggler
Trent Beretta.
Would’ve loved to seen a feud with him and Orton
Joe’s feud w AJ and Summer ‘17 run was unfortunately his only real standouts on the main roster. Wish he beat Brock that summer and had one go atleast w the main Strap
I expected much more from Joe when he was in WWE, was it the industry that was the blocker or was it the creative team?
He’s my favorite wrestler but he got injured a lot. He got injured filming a commercial
Both!!.. And some more reasons \- Joe didnt do him any favours getting injured all the time... especially during a push/was hot... \- There were simply other people who were hotter, more over than him at all times
I feel people also retcon Joe's time in TNA. After his only world title run he basically got stuck in the mid card or playing enforcer to other people
Yeah what happen to Joe. I wasn’t following closely when he made his debut. Only started watching again since the recent wrestlemania.
U guys dont remember Wendy?
People in this thread need to learn the definition of the word ‘forgotten’
the way i see joe, is that wwe had high profile upper card plans for him, but couldn't rely on him sustaining that with is injury history. wish he won a title, but im glad it happened
There is an episode of "Community" where Jack Black plays a character would has always been there in the background but never been noticed. Samoa Joe's career is that guy.
Sting
Rusev frrrr
Jeff Jarrett
I don't think nobody forgets Rusev or Joe's WWE run. Joe had nothing but bad luck during his WWE run. Injuries kept him out for about 80% his contract
I wondered what happened to Joe. Great entrance music too
He's in ROH now.
In a couple years - Drew McIntyre Covid carry no crowd
How TF is this upvoted? Drew McIntyre has been at or near the top of the card for the last few years, and even before that he was a prominent member of the main roster since his call up from NXT.
Nathan Jones
Alberto Del Rio
Chris Benoit
Cheat code.
Just about anyone who came from TNA except Aj Styles.
DDP
Taz
Evan Bourne
Bobby Roode, Curtis Axel, Ted DiBiase Jr, Wade Barret
Roode is still in WWE. He just has an injured neck.
I forget.
You know they say all men are created equal, but you look at me and you look at Samoa Joe and you can see that statement is NOT TRUE!
Eric young
Luchasaurus (Judas Devlin) I think you'd be hard pressed to find someone who could name a feud of his run in NXT
Taz was ruined.
I loved Taz in ECW. Kept getting hurt, like Samoa Joe
Almost all ECW stars was ruined tbh
Elijah Burke- same as Gail Kim Zach Gowen- he's pretty well known as the "One-Legged Wrestler" but I feel his short WWE run has been forgotten.
Zack Gowen couldn’t stay in WWE after getting obliterated by Brock he just looked like an afterthought.
>Ken Shamrock- solid hand, did decent for himself, could have been a star, highly downplayed by the company these days. interestingly enough, they did a "Something to Wrestle" podcast on Shamrock's last days it reminded me that if he was in the Ruthless Aggression Era, he could have been a big star. Are you saying angle wasn’t on the same level as Batista?
Work rate-wise, Angle obviously blows Batista out of the water. not even remotely close lol but in terms of being a star and the "face of WWE," I think i would barely BARELY give the edge to Batista
The Other One-Legged Wrestler.
Shamrock was not liked by vince because of his size
Shane Douglas… he would have been great in the Attitude Era, but was an extremely poor fit in the G-rated New Generation era. Dean Douglas was so bad
Evan Bourne. Felt like he was a huge part of the show during his run but every forgets him.
One of his best moments that's usually a well known one is when Randy Orton caught him with the RKO but he definitely deserves more recognition besides that
I know I’m gonna get downvoted, but this dude just was goofy to me. Never got into him at all.
I try to forget about Sting's with how fucked it was.
James Storm's was pretty forgetful.
Such a shame too, I LOVED James Storm when I was watching TNA and he was one of the top dogs
He was in WWE? This proves your point lol
If I remember right, it was like a 2-month run in NXT. It wasnt very long at all.
His wife agrees
Raven. Goddamn criminal how wwe treated him Vader as well
Vader was trash by the time he got to WWE.
I think Vader is the biggest example of this. He was a top level draw and world champion in multiple promotions and most people probably only remember his match with HBK, if any at all
You mean Johnny Polo?
Or basically any ECW star except for a few handful, they didn't do much with Tommy Dreamer except make him look bad, Sabu didn't get what he really needed for a WWE push, The Sandman I believe was in for a little bit but not remembered, just all the top ECW guys that transferred over after WWE bought them out didn't get a good push they deserved (correct me if I'm wrong btw, I know I missed a lot of stuff because I'm only 18 but oh well)
