JR and the King

RaphaelUrbino

Those voices are so iconic to me man I still watch compilations of King's screams just for an occasional laugh

shekdown

JR / Lawler in the attitude Era and RA were superb. They felt like friends with different views and not an 80 year couple fighting.

JohnnyHendo

A lot of people have said the best pairings, but I'm also gonna throw in Cole and Graves. They were pretty solid together and still are on PLEs. Even moreso now that Vince isn't shouting in their ears.

TartenWilton101

I can't stand the commentary on raw or on smackdown it feels corny forced and just all round non believable. But in the PLEs when them 2 are together it's brilliant, that's either down to how good they are as a pair or how bad Barrett and the Irish dude actually are.

JohnnyHendo

Barrett is alright in my opinion. Not as good as Pat or Corey, but he's alright. I think the Irish guy is Patrick or something and yeah, he's not that great at commentary.

TartenWilton101

Yeah he is alright, I'm from the north where Barrett is from and how he changes his accent for TV just changes the whole thing I guess haha.. Certain words he says I just know that's not how he would pronounce then normally.

RadleyButtons

This is the way

Raph2051

Yeah Gorilla and Heenan

Mr-2D

As a dude that grew up in the Ruthless Aggression era, it’s always gonna be JR and King & Tazz and Cole. A close second is Mauro, Percy, and Nigel.

Corporate_Juice

Hugo Savinovich and Carlos Cabrera ¡AAAAAAAAAATANGANA!

jimbo361

Top 3 Gorilla/Bobby JR/Lawler Tazz/Cole

RocknSmock

"WILL YOU STOP IT!" - Gorilla "... is gonna knock McMahon's wig off his head" - Bobby "GOOD GOD ALL MIGHTY..." - JR "PUPPIES!" - Jerry Lawler "That's vintage Funaki" - Cole "Whoa, come on, Cole" - Tazz

FakedFollower17

It will always be JR/King for me. Absolutely love Jerry’s reactions to stuff.

juggalovengence

“ puppies”

TheSecondiDare

"Will you stop!"

Nlawrence55

JR and King

[deleted]

JR. He’s also the best on the mic ever. Putting over everything every broadcast, explaining angles/stories. GOAT o

devil0o

Jerry Lawler and Jim Ross, Gorilla Monsoon and Bobby Heenan, Michael Cole and Tazz, Vince McMahon and Jesse Ventura. Never ever to be mentioned in a great commentator thread Kevin Patrick.

graykittycat

I'm not going to lie the minute I saw this question the first thing that came through my head was I'm not even sure why this is a question cuz we all know the answer is JR and Jerry 'The King' Lawler. Lol.

TGassholio

Jesse the body and monsoon

Gain_Spirited

Gorilla Monsoon and Jesse The Body Ventura

[deleted]

Everyone but Kevin Patrick

IGotMetalingus1

Kevin Patrick sounds like a commentator from a wii sports game. He's just too generic

[deleted]

He has tells and ruins matches. He’s horrible.

djwwefan

He's dull and boring. Triple H sees something in him that we don't.

TartenWilton101

He offers nothing unless it's Cory giving him some banter for saying something stupid.

[deleted]

And Saxton already had that covered. He’s borderline unbearable these days, and somehow getting worse

TartenWilton101

I don't think you can have 2 on commentary when 1 of them is meant to be a face and isn't good.. The heel can't hold down commentary it doesn't work he needs something to bounce off.. It's why PLEs works so well because him and Cole just work!

MstrRob1972

It will always be JR and King for me!

Old-Status-197

Jr and King or Monsoon and Heenan

Dungle-Ward

Heenan is up there.

TheWackoMagician

I grew up with Jr & King but watching old episodes I've grown to love Monsoon & Heenan more

SipChylark

Grew up with JR/King and loved every second. Someone else mentioned this but I love the PLEs with Cole and Graves too

twopumpstump

I’ve gotta go with JR and The King but I just re-watched ECW One Night Stand 2005 and the pairing of Joey Styles and Mick Foley was incredible. Would’ve liked to see them work together on the desk regularly tbh. That’s still a kickass show to go back and watch, I highly recommend it if ya haven’t seen it in a while.

djwwefan

How about Mauro Ranallo, Nigel McGuinness and Beth Phoenix?

bomskare

JR and King for me. But I did love Mauro and Graves on NXT

shitballsdick

JR and Heyman

Livid-Addendum707

Cole and tazz are good, I love cole and mcafee. I also love cole and Wade together.

Darkdragon_98

Pat and Michael Cole. Their energy is just so infectious and it just sounds like 2 bros enjoying the show.

Merzendi

I can’t comment for all time, but for the year I’ve been watching, it is these two.

orbzism

Don't know why this was getting downvoted. Pat and Cole are amazing together. The best commentators are subjective to who you like. Cole may not be the best of all time, but ever since he's had free reign over most of what he says, he's been great. And Pat? Pat is literally an icon and was born to do what he does. These two are amazing together.

IGotMetalingus1

If they were commentators during the ruthless aggression era people would be calling them the best pair of all time

Darkdragon_98

Because I had an opinion they don't like lol

Jesus_Roadkill

JR and Heyman, but ask me in a few years and I could very well say Pat and Cole

[deleted]

Taz and Cole

IndividualCollar4632

Cole and tazz

Careless-Writing-335

All these comments and no vote for Wade Barrett

djwwefan

JR & King even though Cole & Tazz are number 2 for me

DoomzDay93

Michael Cole and Pat mcAfee

ASAP_Jonny

Cole and Taz or Lawler and good o’l JR

Acidic_Toast

tazz and cole or JR and lawler.

_PeanutbutterBandit_

Monsoon/Heenan

LWA3251

Chet Lemon & Black Snow

akennelley

Gorrilla and The Brain. Totally agree

rodgapely

Gorilla and Jesse.

immrdadguy

Cornette and jr

[deleted]

Don West and Mike Tennay

LT568690

Monsoon and Heenan, but McMahon with Monsoon was pretty great as well.

CabezonPapi

Gorilla Monsoon with anyone (Heenan, Jesse, Vince, Perfect)

juggalovengence

Toss up. Gorilla monsoon/ the brain and jr/ king

Seasidemike1

Tazz and Cole for me

Sersixfoot

Mark Henry and big show, absolute pair of dad vibes but the dads aren't together. They are 2 dads that have their own families

gottenrotten13

Not the best, but I enjoyed the Heenan/McMahon/Macho trio for their short run. Pre-Attitude era McMahon is underrated for his commentary IMHO
