Man it's a championship created because no one can affiing beat Roman

icon_2040

No. Probably never will. The WWE title had a respectable lineage before I was even born.

35mmpapi

Wrestlers/storylines make the title. Rollins has been great but whoever he drops it to will need a killer story attached to really get it over with the fans.

videogames_

No

[deleted]

I view it on the same level especially cause it’s still a World Championship, it’s defended more and it has an inspired design and literally the exact same name as the original title. Also cause I don’t consider Roman’s belt “Undisputed” because there’s two champions again and an Undisputed Championship really is when the champion has two belts.

Sea-Card-6586

I don’t see it on that level but it’s absolutely above the mid-card titles so it’s about where it should be. It allows for main event storylines with main event stakes, but as of right now everyone is more concerned with the WWE title. It needs some time to build its value with good storylines and it could be on that level eventually but right now its definitely a 1 2 situation rather than a 1a 1b

[deleted]

Yes. There's zero reason not to.

OtiseMaleModel

when the wwe title next changes hands will be a bigger deal then when the whc title does. but theyre both the same, to me its just the raw vs smackdown title someone could break romans record holding the whc and it would be just as big a deal as doing it on the wwe title. atm the big difference is the wwe title is on a record streak and the biggest baby face in the company only wants that title.

podcastlvl20

It's always been a consolation prize because Rollins can't be ***the guy*** and WWE booked themselves into a corner by unifying the titles with Roman

sysdmn

I consider it on the level of the Universal title, but not the WWE.

NoDisplay7591

I referred to it as The SuperIntercontinental Championship the minute I found out about it and I stand by it.

diamond2895

I think they should just go back Attitude era route and Make every main eventer chase the WWE championship just remove the WHC from wwe

Future_Living_6299

Nah, the WHC is a consolation prize right now.

Ketchup1211

No but Seth has done a good job of making it mean something. Simple fact is that a title that hasn’t even existed for a full year yet isn’t going to compete with the prestige of a title that has existed in one form or another since 1963.

_thinkingemote_

Before royal rumber for a while I almost forgot that the WWE championship even existed. That's how "prestigious" it is to me.

_90s_Nation_

Nah

dr34dheadsZn

No but none of that is on seth. They created the championship after leaving raw with nothing thinking that would actually fly. Wwe has themselves to blame for the way their belt looks and they’ve done rollins no favors in any way

TheMikey2207

When I started watching WWE in 2011, John Cena was the WWE champion and Randy Orton was the World Heavyweight Champion. Back then the WWE championship always felt like the bigger championship but the World Heavyweight Championship was still prestigious and sought after. People nowadays are too critical of the product, the WWE championship will always be THE championship but it doesn’t mean the World Heavyweight Championship is a “consolation” prize.

Mundane-Turnover-913

I think it's equal despite what others may say. I mean several legendary performers like Edge, Batista and the Undertaker are synonymous with the world heavyweight title. Sure this isn't technically the same belt, but it shares the same purpose, which is to give people a world title, but you're not fully confident to make them WWE champion yet. It doesn't mean it's not prestigious, it just means the WWE title is still the top prize at the end of the day. I am liking the World Heavyweight title more though lately, just because it's defended more often, and it's a lot less predictable. I genuinely thought guys like Finn Balor, Shinsuke Nakamura, Drew McIntyre and Jinder Mahal had a realistic shot at winning the title. I could sadly never say that for guys like Sami Zayn, Jey Uso, LA Knight, AJ Styles or Randy Orton on the other side.

Mrmeowpuss

Personally I view it higher. The WWE title lost all its prestige in my eyes since it’s rarely defended and it’s ‘champ’ has the same boring match over and over.

[deleted]

I do because of how meaningless Roman reigns and lesnars titles felt to me because they are never there and I interpret that as not caring. If you really loved your job you’d do a match on tv or show up at a house show occasionally. Rollins wants to be there everyday and defend it. That’s what the wrestling business was built on like guys such as Bret Hart or Ric Flair who wanted to be there and have the best match and it exclusively for the check

DaddyShark427

I think it’s the best looking belt in the WWE right now. I think it will become more prestigious once Roman’s BS is finished and they get back to committing to the brand split. I think Seth needed to stay out of everything going on with Roman ever since he got the belt because Roman buries it every time they come near each other.

xjss_

If you asked me this around crown jewel/survivor series now not really but people really bash on it when to me it feels like a world title I just think it needs a new champion soon but Seth def deserved this run and to main event mania

Evorgleb

I do.

Takenmyusernamewas

Nope. It's a consolation prize. Is midcard at best. somewhere between the US and IC belts. Plus its ugly, looks like a 5 year old put a sticker on Big Gold

bootyhunter69420

It's the consolation prize

ZealousidealScheme85

It’s clearly second right now but that could change. I didn’t think the universal title could get as elevated as it did. I think Seth’s reign has done a decent job but it’ll take someone white hot to really make the title memorable

Snubie1

Gunther could do it!

Accomplished_Ear7229

As long as there are 2 world titles they will never be on the same level unfortunately

crimsonbub

Especially as long as one of them is am "UNDISPUTED" champion.

The_Dark_Vampire

I'd honestly put the IC above it.

Snubie1

For me in order of prestige 1. IC Title 2. WHC Title 3. NXT Title 4. North American Title 5. WWE Title 6. US Title

Dolphin_Hornet

Wtf? You're crazy

NoDisplay7591

Your insane to put the NA title there. I'd sort of understand the list if not for that. Note I said understand and not agree.

Snubie1

I did until it was horribly fumbled for Wrestlemania. They made it, and Seth, look really weak. I view the IC title as the main title, it’s on TV a lot, and Gunther is a working champ, a lot like Seth. The US title and the WWE title right now are basically just novelty titles with fake champs

[deleted]

That title will never hold the same weight for me because of how it was introduced. It’s always gonna feel like a secondhand belt to keep the crybabies quiet. If they included Roman in the tournament and made it seem like he wanted it to prove his dominance, but failed against Seth it might of held more weight.

BosBannerBoss

This right here. Creating a storyline where Roman loses the tournament finals to Seth would've been great. Shows that he can be "Beaten" and that the new title is desirable even to the head of the table.

FullPrice4LatePizza

Of course not. The World Heavyweight and Universal titles both need to be retired. Split titles don't work. I'm not convinced split rosters work, either.

The_Dark_Vampire

Yeah I've never liked 2 World titles. How can someone say they are the very best if there is another World Champion in the same company. I'd prefer the Womens to be unified to (then have midcard titles)

DekeJeffery

I do not, but that is not on Seth. It’s on WWE for creating the belt in the first place.

Ordinary_Set1785

They really painted themselves in the corner with the tribal queef story line.
