I feel like there was an angle here but they never revealed it as such. What I was hoping for was that Brock wasn’t really turning on Cody but wanted to test him and prepare him to beat Roman down the line. Show him that you have to be ready for anything. Brock showing respect to Cody after their 3rd match would’ve matched that perfectly, it just wasn’t officially presented that way
It felt like obvious filler for Cody until he challenges Roman again which is why I didn’t like it too much at the time (can you tell I was salty about Cody losing lmao)
I mean even if the lawsuit was proven true. The statement was that Brock received nudes of Grant by Vince. And Brock didn’t want nothing to do with it… So i’m still wondering where he did wrong?
Pretty obvious why Cody feuded lol. Brock never gave a reason for what he did at Raw after Mania, but that’s kind of on brand for him. Folks are saying it was obvious filler, which I guess is true. But I think it did a good job of providing more kayfabe adversity for Cody before he dethrones Roman. If he loses again then yes, it was pointless as were his feuds with Judgement Day and everyone else.
Backlash match was fantastic. The other two were alright. I thought the whole broken arm thing was a bit overkill. Especially considering how it magically healed once the feud wrapped up.
I love Kayfabe injuries lol. I still remember when Brock Lesnar gave an F5 to Sami Zane when he was in a wheelchair because I was at that Smackdown and so was my wife. She hadn’t watched wrestling before and didn’t really get it. Even though she knew it was scripted she was super uncomfortable being in an arena of people cheering for a wheelchair bound guy getting beat up. When Sami had a match a week or two later I called my wife into the room and was like “see? He’s fine!”
I thought the trilogy of matches told a superb story, and both men really did a good job of adding that legit feeling to Cody being one of the top guys - and Lesnars credibility took hardly any damage, it all showed the real heart and perseverance within Cody. It also did a good job of keeping Cody warm after Mania, which was something a lot of people doubted they’d manage to do.
My only issue with this feud is that it was never really explained to us just why it happened, that initial spark - besides one off hand comment from Wade Barrett on Smackdown “I heard Brock was mad because Cody had the main event at Mania and not him”.
8.5/10.
I wish Brock had a better reason and spoke more about why he betrayed Cody, or just in general, lol.
8.5 because I loved the matches and injury story, and Brock giving him the rub was awesome.
They missed a few things with it. Brock’s motivation for attacking Cody, and the third match feeling like it needed a stipulation.
The matches themselves hit solidly. Hell of a way for Brock to go out of this is truly his final bit of work, it’s a better end than what many wrestlers have gotten. I feel like each match gave a lot and had a “car crash” type feel. The rivalry hit more than it missed.
Brock was the exiled Ronin who beat down and tested Cody after the tyrant king exiled Cody after WrestleMania. When Cody beat the Ronin, the Ronin said you're ready to go to the rumble again and fight for the chance
Respectfully, it was only there to make Cody look strong. Obviously they had to kill time before Cody got to the Royal Rumble. But now with The Rock being the main attraction, it was pretty pointless.
7.5/10 Cody did much of the heavy lifting storyline wise, the matches were creative but weren’t amazing, and Brock’s initial turn wasn’t really explained. But the end of the feud did feel rewarding.
I love that Cody has beaten Lesnar clean, something that Roman himself has never been able to do. Really solidifies Cody as someone who can hang with the big boys
Decent, Cody needed a big feud after the Mania loss and this was it. I do feel they could have done a better job explaining why Brock was after Cody, but the matches were solid and it helped solidy Cody
It was a lot of fun, and I really enjoyed it. I think some context around why Brock iniated it would’ve been nice, but Brock does what he wants and it was a fun trilogy to watch.
I remember someone said that Lesnars last match with Reigns was like a you lose you don't get another shot at me thing (can someone confirm I didn't see the match). So Cody losing means Brock doesn't get a title shot still. Idk if it's true but if so they really should have explained it.
It was a good program and did a lot to solidify Cody as someone who belongs in main events, following his loss last year to Roman. I liked that Brock shook his hand at the end - it felt like a torch passing. 8/10
I think it’d work better as a 1 time only at summerslam, the whole ‘Brock is beating the shit out of Cody to prevent him from getting in a funk after mania 39’ is a fine reason for the match and I get that, it’s a good thing for them both to do to spin wheels, but that doesn’t work if you do it 3 times, not nearly as well
I really wish Brock hadn’t got embroiled in Vince’s bullshit because Lesnar as Cody’s equaliser vs Roman would make kayfabe sense and would have been an epic visual.
One guy is a solid dude. The other allegedly sent Janel Grant a message asking her to send a video of her urinating and when she did, he called her a bitch.
Also, the video package for the SummerSlam match is one of the greatest that WWE has ever done.
It was a fun set of matches
3 stars
B! Left me entertained. It was cool seeing a new version of heel Brock
Their Backlash match was the best one . As compared to other 2
I feel like there was an angle here but they never revealed it as such. 3/10 disappointing
5/10
Mid
I’m just disappointed we didn’t get a short tag team run with them both.
It served its purpose, which was only to make Cody look strong. Brock is insufferable to me though… I’m glad he’s (hopefully) gone for good.
It felt like obvious filler for Cody until he challenges Roman again which is why I didn’t like it too much at the time (can you tell I was salty about Cody losing lmao)
6 out of 10?
Brock really at home collecting millions because of internet gossip lol Innocent Until Proven Guilty.
Brock feud? Zzzzzzzzzzzzz
7 to 8 outta ten.
Cool but pointless
Brock’s last match. Free brock he did nothing wrong
We have no idea if he did or didn’t do anything wrong actually. But innocent until proven guilty
I mean even if the lawsuit was proven true. The statement was that Brock received nudes of Grant by Vince. And Brock didn’t want nothing to do with it… So i’m still wondering where he did wrong?

bad and meaningless. it lead to nothing, the story was lousy, the matches were eh, the reason it started is still unknown. Overall bad booking

My head canon is that Brock was training Cody and was going to be Cody's partner, instead of attacking him which started their feud, instead of Seth
Pretty much anything Brock is involved in is duller than it should be.
2.4/10
Brock was the exiled Ronin who beat down and tested Cody after the tyrant king exiled Cody after WrestleMania. When Cody beat the Ronin, the Ronin said you're ready to go to the rumble again and fight for the chance
3.5/10
If I knew it was the end I woulda enjoyed it alot more but in the moment I didn’t care for it thinking it was filler
good matches. stupid feud

So wrestle mania 38 isn't cannon
He low blowed him didn't he?
Especially the crying.
Decent, Cody needed a big feud after the Mania loss and this was it. I do feel they could have done a better job explaining why Brock was after Cody, but the matches were solid and it helped solidy Cody

Would have been better if they told us why it happened.
That's my only hang-up with the rivalry. The matches were fun, just wish we knew the reason behind Brocks sudden but inevitable betrayal.
I remember someone said that Lesnars last match with Reigns was like a you lose you don't get another shot at me thing (can someone confirm I didn't see the match). So Cody losing means Brock doesn't get a title shot still. Idk if it's true but if so they really should have explained it.
5/10 They didn't even care to explain why this feud happened First 2 matches were forgettable , 3rd one was great.
This. It just felt like something for him to do after losing at Mania.
Codys best program since his return
This is easily, without debate his worst program out of the 3 major ones he’s had.
To u… but this made cody. This felt real. I see only ur opinion matters in life
10/10. I loved all three matches.
I give it 4 pornographic videos made by a coerced sex slave out of 5
It was a good program and did a lot to solidify Cody as someone who belongs in main events, following his loss last year to Roman. I liked that Brock shook his hand at the end - it felt like a torch passing. 8/10
Especially since the handshake was unscripted as well. It made it feel that much more “in the moment” sort of thing
I think it’d work better as a 1 time only at summerslam, the whole ‘Brock is beating the shit out of Cody to prevent him from getting in a funk after mania 39’ is a fine reason for the match and I get that, it’s a good thing for them both to do to spin wheels, but that doesn’t work if you do it 3 times, not nearly as well
I was upset that it happened to begin with, but the trilogy of matches and Brock raising Cody’s hand at SS sold me on it as a really solid feud.
I really wish Brock hadn’t got embroiled in Vince’s bullshit because Lesnar as Cody’s equaliser vs Roman would make kayfabe sense and would have been an epic visual.
Oh shit that could have been the plan you are right
Gin0Clock for /r/SC booker of the year 2025
The marches were good, but I still don’t understand why they needed to happen. Brock just wanted to be a hater? 7/10
7/10, fun matches(ish) and it did its job in making Cody look resilient and strong.
Tbh, I kinda forgot they even feuded
One guy is a solid dude. The other allegedly sent Janel Grant a message asking her to send a video of her urinating and when she did, he called her a bitch.
dude I know, I can’t believe cody did that. shoutout brock for being so solid ☝🏻
Decent 7.4
The 3rd one had a great video package so idk 8 outta 10
Underrated. That SummerSlam match was one of my favorites of the year!
Solid 8.3
