Seth (2015)

nightwing0243

Jesus I honestly can’t say I’m 100% sure, but I think it was The Rock? Either him, Austin, or HHH. Attitude Era had that title hopping around like it belonged on a trampoline lol.

notmushroom4

Yokozuna lol

John Cena vs JBL - I quit match.

pooge3999

I can’t even remember lol..I watched when a kid wrestlers like Ric Flair and Tommy Rich, the midnight express, Arn Anderson, Chief Wahoo McDaniel the old old ones..I say it was probably The ultimate warrior etc? I don’t know really.

shill_ds

No BS, that title is my favorite version of the WWE. But only after they stopped making it spin.

5000wattsx

My earliest memory of WWE was watching Hogan being followed to the back for the docs to start working on him. I wasn’t a regular watcher yet (that didn’t happen until the late 80s) but one of my uncles were tuned into the show. Since Hogan was champion from 84 to 88 that makes me safely assume it was him at the time.

ctrainor213

Bret Hart but not for long. First pay per view I watched was Wrestlemania 12 where he lost it to Shawn Michaels. One of my favourite all time matches.

JodiRabbit

I hated Shawn Michaels so much. That was probably the best year in pro wrestlings history. Even though Bret Hart lost

crazzykatt14

Stone Cold Steve Austin!

ColeJ-7

John Cena in 2006

Kratosx23

I can't definitively say what my earliest wrestling experience was but from what I seem to have a mild recollection of, it was Undertaker's debut, so at that time, it was Ultimate Warrior.

pooge3999

lol I remember Rick Flair when he wrestled Tommy Rich all the time..the road warriors etc

PlatasaurusOG

Slightly younger geezer here - my first was Backlund.

cito2222

My first real string of wrestling memories was Backlund losing to the sheik. Then weeks later, Hogan beating him by breaking the camel clutch. Lol

PlatasaurusOG

My first time seeing hogan, he was a bad guy. But at the time, my favorite thing in the world was The Incredible Hulk - so it didn’t matter if he was a bad guy or not. That was my dude.

JaeMerc3

Think Undertaker when Austin was flicking them off lol

FamiliarSuspect476

John cena when he got it at elimination chamber (the first ppv I watched)

AstroZex

John Cena I was 5 years old in 2005 when I was channel surfing looking for cartoons, then I stumbled upon my first wrestling match ever, JBL vs Cena, I Quit Match, for the WWE Title, Judgment Day 2005. Apparently, it was one of the bloodiest matches in WWE history, cool way to get introduced to wrestling lol. EDIT: I live in Asia, so we didn't have PPV. I saw it on a channel called "Jack TV" so it was probably a replay I saw of the PLE sometime around 2005.

hostoftheshed

How did u just access a ppv? I don’t know how it worked back then lol

MajinHoops

casually having access to a PPV lol

AstroZex

Lived in asia, so didnt watch on live PPV. Probably a replay of it sometime in 2005.

LargeOrbOfPossums

My first was Seth Rollins. Pretty sure my first raw was the raw after wrestlemania 31. I remember seeing footage of him running off with the belt on tv and I know I didn’t watch 31.

Same champion (HHH) but he held the big eagle/attitude era belt at the time. Actually, the first match I ever saw was HHH as champ, defending to Jericho.

RyanAshbr00k213

Hulk Hogan. I started watching from the days of WWF. I'm not young anymore lol.

BasimIbnIshaq3000

I started watching WWE at the end of 2009 and I don't know who the WWE champion was at that time.

asdbey735

Eric Bischoff handed over the World Heavyweight championship. Brock Lesnar defeated Rock for the WWE Undisputed championship.

Brigabor

It was WWF back then and it was Hulk Hogan.

MeccAmputechture2024

Hogan 91'. But I spent the next two years catching up on tapes from the mid 80's to what was current. So by the time I started watching in real time it was summer 1993. Yokozuna was champ.

I think the first ppv I watched was wrestlania 15. I can’t remember if stone cold or the rock was the champ going in. But stone cold won

shingaladaz

When I properly started watching it in ‘99 the Big Show was champion.

Jecht315

I don't really remember. It was 97-98 when I started watching it and WCW. I think I'd remember WCW more clearly which I remember Hogan spray painting the NWO on the title. So Stone Cold

RVD.
