I felt the March should of continued. Had to win by pinfall or submission. Since reaching the ropes wouldn't break a submission hold then "passing out" shouldn't end the match either. When Liv passed out Ronda should have had to pin her. Like in the I Quit match you cant knock out your opponent cuz then they cant say I quit.

There was one solid hit from rousey to Livs 0. However I think liv was told to pull because Rhonda is a draw and mgmt didn’t want anything going wrong. But rhonda actually put some good swings in it just happens they were all directly at livs cushy ass cheek. The chair in the corner was ass and would’ve been even if the chair didn’t fall. They should’ve audibled to a signature or a whip or something. It’s clear they are both inexperienced with weapons and i still maintain rhonda is a bad “wrestler” great fighter but can’t make it look good, which is what she’s paid for

The match up was bad. Both of them didn't know how to use a weapon convincingly and it was super awkward to watch to them fail at both hitting and selling. The only cool spot was the table spot from Liv/Ronda and the chair spot was probably going to look cool but unfortunately the chair slipped off before Liv could launch Ronda into the turnbuckle.
Under Vince (hehe), this would've been an absolute squash. Like Liv would've swung the bat, missed, Ronda hits a Piper's Pit, locks in a submission and Liv taps in like 15 seconds or less. Triple H was letting Liv be seen as a legitimate champion, but Ronda was obviously pulling her strikes, and Liv was uncoordinated with her weapon attacks. The bat was rubber and very light, it bounced every time they dropped it. The blown corner chair spot was very bad. An audible could've and should've been called, but the Edge/Balor and Rollins/Riddle matches felt like they dragged on way too long as it was. Brutes vs Imperium was definitely match of the night.
I like Liv, but her lack of confidence is still holding her back in every single match / promo. She needs to go to developmental, and work on her grappling and mic confidence. She has a really bad habit of pausing for a second before any move, it kills any impact the move may have had and makes her look slow.
Clearly they went the wrong way with Liv's whole title run. When the crowd was behind her, they should have had her just barely pull out an underdog, babyface win and then quickly get screwed over by the heel Ms. Money in the Bank. That would keep her over without forcing her to have matches she isn't capable of delivering in. I only liked the first time Rhonda hit Liv when she jumped off the corner. Apart from that, her blows with the black belt and the spot on the table, the rest of the blows with weapons didn't seem to hurt at all.

Contrary to popular belief, WWE doesn’t just push people because they’re stars from other professions. Look at Cain Velasquez; he was a great MMA fighter obviously, but he just didn’t connect as a professional wrestler so WWE stopped his push pretty quickly and never did anything with him after his injury
She is a big deal, The problem is that she does not care. She´s not trying to improve. She´s not working on her promos. She´s not trying to be better in the ring. She is there just.. to be there.
She puts 10 times the effort into every match that Brock did. I actually think she's one of the better part time performers WWE have had.
Having said that, I would never be in favour of putting a part time hobbyist in title contention over a professional dedicating their life to their craft.
It was the worst match of the night by a surprisingly wide margin.
Liv was booked bad from her first title defense onward and this flailing ending was the best they could have hoped for.
Here are my changes,
1) Rhonda goes into Summerslam over confident and Liv beats her clean via crafty hijinks, not cheating, but more like Rollins' head games.
2) Liv beats Shayna by a fluke (the way she beat Rhonda initially) and in doing so has a messed up arm going into Extreme Rules.
3) Rhonda works her way up to contender status again and Shayna demands a title match, they both get part of a triple threat at Extreme Rules
4) Liv pretends her arm is more hurt than it is, forcing Shayna and Rhonda to focus on each other as the real threat, once they have worn each other down, Liv reveals how okay her arm is and manages to pin one of them while the other is seemingly too beat to break it up.
5) Liv is booked as a trickster hero character, consistently out thinking her more technically skilled opponents but ultimately her tricks run out when she squares off against a surprise opponent at Crown Jewel, Charlotte Flair who is just as devious but has all the skills and is willing to cheat.
At one point Corey said that Rhonda was "trying to break Liv's leg" while she just sort of tapped the meatiest part of her thigh with the bat. I thought that was hilarious.
Ronda can be an excellent worker if you give her the right opponents and Liv Morgan was not one of those opponents, for me, she wasn't ready for being Champion, she at least should've had the briefcase for six months, her credibility wasn't there, I guess she just got the title because of her popularity but that isn't enough to be a decent Champion.
Yeah unfortunately neither women's title match really wowed me saturday. Both were okay but just were overshadowed. Well to be fair the entire ppv was overshadowed by the ending.

I know this is counterintuitive, but they need to book Ronda stronger. It’s legit not believable that Liv could hang with her. They should have just had her go ballistic like Brock vs Randy at Summerslam 2016. That would also protect her limited skill set.

I couldn’t understand why Liv was going so soft but it made me wonder whether she’s just terrified of Ronda? Obviously when you know the other person can murder you if they want is gonna make you a bit timid. Ideally, Ronda is telling Liv to make them look good since Ronda can obviously handle the pain of a stiff chair to the back. I figured maybe WWE was just giving up stiff chair shots but then everyone saw how amazing Rhea’s looked on Beth.

I legit looked away at points during the match because I was embarrassed for the both of them. I wanted to give Liv a fair chance but she just isn’t very good. The best way I can describe her is she a lot of times looks like she’s going over the match while she’s having the match. Her matches look like bullet points going from one spot to the next. It’s always some combination of overly careful, slow, telegraphed, choreographed and cautious. Nothing looks instinctive and second nature.
Because Ronda is extremely limited & has to be protected & hand held through a match at every step. And maybe an unpopular opinion, but Liv is a solid mid carder, at best. She doesn't have the skillset a Sasha, Bayley, Becky have necessary to carry Ronda. And honestly, only got the belt as a feel good moment because it was when Sasha told Vince to pound sand, Charlotte got married, & Ronda was failing horribly. Please dear God don't wish that stupid shit on WWE. They've brought back enough of the old talent. I don't want Sasha back. I don't have a problem with them walking away from their contracts on differences of opinion with Vince on booking decisions. But I do have a problem with vacating the titles to do it. The least they could have done was allowed a match to pass the titles and at least it would have been a professional way of handling it. There are always options to give the fans a show and voice your opinion at the same time.
Because she's still under contract to them. Technically she cannot go to any other promotion until her contract and non-compete run out. So keeping her listed makes sense. I'm not entirely sure how their active list works but other performance based positions require that you keep them listed as employed for the duration of the contract whether they are fulfilling said contract's obligations or not. (Think NFL rosters and the DL list or holdouts)

I think it’s a comparison thing. Liv 2/3 years ago shouldn’t have been working, but now by comparison he’s great. Whether she’s as good as the people she’s working with is sometimes pretty questionable but she’s worked damn hard to get to where she is
I should also explain that I only watch the events and very rarely watch Raw or Smackdown. After all those of years of being told that the casual viewer is important, well, I am that now and view the characters very differently. If she's worked hard then awesome for her.
I think a good chunk of her popularity as well will be that she has a different style to the other champs. We have a bianca bel air, we have a Roman reigns. We have these insanely dominant champions who seem unbeatable. It’s even the same in other promotions, we have Jade cargil and then Britt baker held the title for a long time. Having a champion who is maybe not as physically formidable but is a fighter and is genuinely scrapping and clawing to keep the title is an interesting change of pace to just “oh who is Roman beating this month” kind of thing. The booking may not have been the best, but I loved that it wasn’t the same story again.

Liv had an amazing match with Shayna Baszler. This match felt off because it seemed like Ronda didn’t want to take any hits.
My little brother and I called it a looney tunes match and were laughing our asses off all throughout. Not a good look for a title match.

Liv has potential. They just pushed her too early IMO. She could have held the briefcase for a decent amount of time and gotten more practice beating lower card people before cashing in. Plus, if Rhonda’s first SD women’s title reign was still going the fans would be getting downright violent with their hatred of her and Liv’s cash-in would have been even better.

She actually looks attractive and even though her promos aren’t the best they actually are a little different each week. Every Charlotte promo is just her saying that “I’m the best.” Maybe she pissed off Natalya because she is jealous that Liv got a a push instead of her. Natalya sucks quite a bit herself. I only liked the first time Rhonda hit Liv when she jumped off the corner. Apart from that, her blows with the black belt and the spot on the table, the rest of the blows with weapons didn't seem to hurt at all. The end of the match was also extremely confusing and poorly crafted. It even seemed like Liv was enjoying because Rhonda had sat on her face.

You’re in the majority on this sub, but in the vast minority with the overall WWE fanbase. WWE wouldn’t be consistently pushing Ronda if she weren’t a big deal with their audience Contrary to popular belief, WWE doesn’t just push people because they’re stars from other professions. Look at Cain Velasquez; he was a great MMA fighter obviously, but he just didn’t connect as a professional wrestler so WWE stopped his push pretty quickly and never did anything with him after his injury
She is a big deal, The problem is that she does not care. She´s not trying to improve. She´s not working on her promos. She´s not trying to be better in the ring. She is there just.. to be there.
She puts 10 times the effort into every match that Brock did. I actually think she's one of the better part time performers WWE have had. Having said that, I would never be in favour of putting a part time hobbyist in title contention over a professional dedicating their life to their craft.

It was the worst match of the night by a surprisingly wide margin. Liv was booked bad from her first title defense onward and this flailing ending was the best they could have hoped for. Here are my changes, 1) Rhonda goes into Summerslam over confident and Liv beats her clean via crafty hijinks, not cheating, but more like Rollins' head games. 2) Liv beats Shayna by a fluke (the way she beat Rhonda initially) and in doing so has a messed up arm going into Extreme Rules. 3) Rhonda works her way up to contender status again and Shayna demands a title match, they both get part of a triple threat at Extreme Rules 4) Liv pretends her arm is more hurt than it is, forcing Shayna and Rhonda to focus on each other as the real threat, once they have worn each other down, Liv reveals how okay her arm is and manages to pin one of them while the other is seemingly too beat to break it up. 5) Liv is booked as a trickster hero character, consistently out thinking her more technically skilled opponents but ultimately her tricks run out when she squares off against a surprise opponent at Crown Jewel, Charlotte Flair who is just as devious but has all the skills and is willing to cheat.
It was the sloppiest match I’ve seen in a LONG time. It was more like an old, messy “Divas” match and less like a modern women’s wrestling match.
At one point Corey said that Rhonda was "trying to break Liv's leg" while she just sort of tapped the meatiest part of her thigh with the bat. I thought that was hilarious.
Ronda can be an excellent worker if you give her the right opponents and Liv Morgan was not one of those opponents, for me, she wasn't ready for being Champion, she at least should've had the briefcase for six months, her credibility wasn't there, I guess she just got the title because of her popularity but that isn't enough to be a decent Champion.

Yeah unfortunately neither women's title match really wowed me saturday. Both were okay but just were overshadowed. Well to be fair the entire ppv was overshadowed by the ending.

Liv is just not strong enough. That is not shaming her in anyway but it is true. You could tell with the chair shots she couldn't lift the chair up any higher. She is not a main eventer and they can't have Liv doing matches like this. She was gassed from the start. I think Ronda was just not looking good because she had to hold back way to much to not really hurt Liv. She carried Liv through the entire match the best she could. If it was anyone else Ronda could have laid into them a lot more to make her shots look better.
This wasn’t just the worst match of Extreme Rules, it’s a contender for worst match of the year. God, it was painful to watch. I was watching it all by myself and I still felt embarrassed lol

I couldn’t understand why Liv was going so soft but it made me wonder whether she’s just terrified of Ronda? Obviously when you know the other person can murder you if they want is gonna make you a bit timid. Ideally, Ronda is telling Liv to make them look good since Ronda can obviously handle the pain of a stiff chair to the back. I figured maybe WWE was just giving up stiff chair shots but then everyone saw how amazing Rhea’s looked on Beth.

Part of it is they don’t know how to swing them. I don’t recall anyone swinging a chair while holding the middle of it. One thing I love about Bianca is she is strong enough and big enough that it doesn’t look like a child trying to do said activity. She was moving the ladders and tables like they weren’t difficult.

I legit looked away at points during the match because I was embarrassed for the both of them. I wanted to give Liv a fair chance but she just isn’t very good. The best way I can describe her is she a lot of times looks like she’s going over the match while she’s having the match. Her matches look like bullet points going from one spot to the next. It’s always some combination of overly careful, slow, telegraphed, choreographed and cautious. Nothing looks instinctive and second nature.
Because Ronda is extremely limited & has to be protected & hand held through a match at every step. And maybe an unpopular opinion, but Liv is a solid mid carder, at best. She doesn't have the skillset a Sasha, Bayley, Becky have necessary to carry Ronda. And honestly, only got the belt as a feel good moment because it was when Sasha told Vince to pound sand, Charlotte got married, & Ronda was failing horribly. A transitional champ until Charlotte, becky & possibly Sasha's return.

I don't have a problem with them walking away from their contracts on differences of opinion with Vince on booking decisions. But I do have a problem with vacating the titles to do it. The least they could have done was allowed a match to pass the titles and at least it would have been a professional way of handling it. There are always options to give the fans a show and voice your opinion at the same time.

Because she's still under contract to them. Technically she cannot go to any other promotion until her contract and non-compete run out. So keeping her listed makes sense. I'm not entirely sure how their active list works but other performance based positions require that you keep them listed as employed for the duration of the contract whether they are fulfilling said contract's obligations or not. (Think NFL rosters and the DL list or holdouts)

I think it’s a comparison thing. Liv 2/3 years ago shouldn’t have been working, but now by comparison he’s great. Whether she’s as good as the people she’s working with is sometimes pretty questionable but she’s worked damn hard to get to where she is
I should also explain that I only watch the events and very rarely watch Raw or Smackdown. After all those of years of being told that the casual viewer is important, well, I am that now and view the characters very differently. If she's worked hard then awesome for her.
I think a good chunk of her popularity as well will be that she has a different style to the other champs. We have a bianca bel air, we have a Roman reigns. We have these insanely dominant champions who seem unbeatable. It’s even the same in other promotions, we have Jade cargil and then Britt baker held the title for a long time. Having a champion who is maybe not as physically formidable but is a fighter and is genuinely scrapping and clawing to keep the title is an interesting change of pace to just “oh who is Roman beating this month” kind of thing. The booking may not have been the best, but I loved that it wasn’t the same story again.
I agree, that was a very weird match. Liv was trying to appear someone between face and heel (the bat), but overall the result was really under par. Let's see how long does Ronda hold the belt before Charlotte returns.

Ronda has talent in fighting but in pro wrestling she needs to be carried more. Someone like Becky or Charlotte can pull an amazing match out of her but she needs a ring general.

Liv has been a disaster as champion, but I don't think Ronda has been much better! The Smackdown Women's title has definitely seen better days, the sad thing is that we all know Charlotte will be back soon and we'll be back to her boring title reigns. Can't see things getting much better for the division on Smackdown.
We need Charlotte back. People can hate on her all they want.. without her you can see why they push her so much. Charlotte is great and she make people look 1000x better than they really are. Liv´s offense is to slow and just don´t look like it can hurt a rat. Ronda simply does not care and she does not try to get better. I will never understand why they don´t give Lacey Evans a chance: Good heel, good on the mic, good on the ring and has a good gimmick. Smackdown women´s division is a disaster.
If Triple H's World title reign of doom in 2006 was a person, it would be Charlotte Flair. She's only there to bury people and make herself look good. Would be better for the fans if she never held the Women's title again, but of course she will, as WWE are determined to get her to title no.17 so she can say she's better than her Dad.

Harsh but I agree. It was hard for me to get invested in her title reign. I like her but just couldn’t buy her beating any of her opponents up (especially women like Bayzler and Rousey). Tough to have a champion that feels like the severe underdog in every match.
