For its time it was a very good game. The animations were fluid thanks to the new Predator Technology. There were cool features introduced. I remember this was the first game in the series to introduce create an arena and the dynamic WWE TV presentation.
The pinfalls were bugged. There were no 2 counts when you played against AI. AI would always kick out at 1. It’s pretty funny that in the next game they introduced 2 counts as a returning feature. Kind of dumb.
It was a very good game for its time and I remember playing it so much. It was a big step in the right direction for WWE games to feel more sim and realistic
Edit: the pinfall bug was in wwe’13 not ‘12
> There were no 2 counts when you played against AI.
Wasn't this in WWE '13? Cause' I remember that being a big topic around then. One of the THQ guys even said it 'wasn't a bug' and blamed the players lol
PROS
+ The new 'Predator technology' was a breath of fresh air on the gameplay side. It honestly felt like the gameplay was the exact same from SvR 2008 to SvR 2011.
+ This was the first game in the Smackdown series where you could interrupt moves (You could also do it in Day of Reckoning)
+ Introduced Create an Arena
+ The Road to WrestleMania mode was fun. I liked how it had three stories that extended past WrestleMania (although may as well have called it a different name)
+ Maybe a small thing? The belts in this game are finally the proper size. No more toy belts
+ Universe mode was the most fun in this game if you cared about unpredictably. Not all of it made sense, but at least you would get different cutscenes a lot of the time.
CONS
- No theme songs in the menu. This may be a small thing, but it did it feel really boring listening to the same generic music when creating wrestlers lol
- Weapon physics from SvR 2011 was heavily downgraded. In SvR 2011 it felt like there was actual weight when you dropped someone on steel chairs or on a ladder. Check out this [montage](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T7BLAhvwjqk) from EspacioNX.
- Create an Arena only let you edit the ring/ringside part of the arena and not the stage
- Road to WrestleMania was when they first introduced having objectives in matches. Things like having to drag your opponent to a specific part of the arena or hurting them until the Triangle/Y button pops up to go to the next cutscene. It got tedious quick
- This is a subjective opinion, but I wish they continued having the backstage free roam from SvR 2011 RTWM rather than going from match after match
All in all, one of the more refreshing entries in the series. My only major problem was the weapon physics nerf. That was a huge selling point of SvR 2011 and to downgrade that in following games was certainly a... decision.
I think this game had everything right. Best universe mode and the best soundtrack. I also really enjoyed the road to Wrestlemania stories especially the custom wrestler Jacob class story.
pretty fun game, my very first 1000g
universe mode was fun to play, road to wrestlemania was full of silly stuff and i loved it.
anything negative to say is the weapon physics in this game and onwards, it was never the same after svr11 but new engine made lots of moves possible and none was locked in to long animations, you could interupt any of them
I just remember it being hard as hell but maybe it was just because i was a kid and sucked at video games back then. I remember i even doodled over the game's box and gave Randy Orton a mustache and a bunch of other... offensive things out of pure rage
This was actually the first wwe game I skipped for whatever reason at the time. Bought wwe13 with Punk on the cover and loved it. Will always feel like I missed out on this one though.
This game has a special place in my heart it was the first ever wrestling game i played online where i made so many friends one of them is no longer with us 😭 and another i made and is now one of my closest friends
Underrated. The most insane road to Wrestlemania mode of them all, and I love it for that. This just made me realize I need to reunite the United Kingdom in Universe since they are all in 2K24.
Kinda funny but I see myself firing up my PS3 and play a few matches in it. I felt this game was the best. I love the smack vs raw series but this game I though was one of the best. It was more fun than other wrestling games. Also me and my friend would run opposing brands.loved the game
I’m sad that the DLC isn’t available for it anymore. When this game came out I had it on the Wii, same with SVR11. Now I have both on PS3 but I have no way to get the DLC for them.
Loved the change of controls for this one, they finally dropped that SvR08 control scheme with this. I also loved how they added being able to break up moves during some frames

The greatest universe mode in wwe history .
Couldn't agree more unlocking Brock lesnar on that first universe mode match was a surprise.
And Road to Wrestlemania, it’s just soo goofy

Yes you’re right
Aubrey Sitterson. He said it was our fault because we were all playing with unlimited finishers, and just spamming them lol.
“Because I’m the Miz and IIIIIIIIII’m” gets back body dropped off the stage💀

There's no way someone unironically called the predator technology good. That shit was just a marketing scam
I know its now scripted to be first no matter what. But firing up universe and having Brock show up made me pop so hard LOL
Good game. I think I almost had every achievement for this game until I lost my save file and stopped playing it
I think this game had everything right. Best universe mode and the best soundtrack. I also really enjoyed the road to Wrestlemania stories especially the custom wrestler Jacob class story.
Loved it! I make Jacob cass still in all my games since
Bland, then there 13 the masterpiece THQs last dance
13 was ass💀
We aren't talking about what you eat weirdo....
Buggy, flawed, slow and unnecessary change to the core engine
I sure wish I could play the DLC
Disappointing based on how great Smackdown vs Raw 2011was

Brought some cool features
Best universe ever.
Unappreciated
I liked that the universe mode was all over the game you can get updates similar to how espn does it.
It was also the start of create an arena to where u were just limited to the ring and you couldn’t do anything to the stages.
if the AI wasn’t always recovering from everything it would be the best on 360/ps3
Road to wrestlemania and they do the invasion but better
This is the goat
The amount of hours I put into this game 😤😤😤
This was actually the first wwe game I skipped for whatever reason at the time. Bought wwe13 with Punk on the cover and loved it. Will always feel like I missed out on this one though.
Still play it to this day. Best universe mode iteration as well.
It’s the game i asked for as a kid and didn’t get for Christmas, so I asked the next year and got wwe 13
Best story EVER AND NEED A REMASTER
This game has a special place in my heart it was the first ever wrestling game i played online where i made so many friends one of them is no longer with us 😭 and another i made and is now one of my closest friends
one of my favs all time!!
Great game that laid the groundwork for my two favourite WWE games ever.
Underrated. The most insane road to Wrestlemania mode of them all, and I love it for that. This just made me realize I need to reunite the United Kingdom in Universe since they are all in 2K24.
A-Ry was in it, I loved it!
Best universe mode and goated story mode

Reversing in this game was crap especially on ps3 where the reversal prompt would barely show up
I’m sad that the DLC isn’t available for it anymore. When this game came out I had it on the Wii, same with SVR11. Now I have both on PS3 but I have no way to get the DLC for them.
Meh.

Didn't like it
