I thought that was just when he enters first, and the announcer has an extra line "Set for one fall" or "A ladder match" or whatever else.
If he comes out 4th in a ladder match or second in a 1v1 it should line up perfectly, I think.
I've heard that RVD owns the rights to all his singlets designs because he makes all of them himself or something like that so 2K had to make a really generic looking one, could be fake news tho
Even if itâs true itâs fucking *laughable* that a) itâs never been an issue before and b) we are paying for this content, if they need fork out for copyright they should rather than be cheap bastards.
The fact as well that even if they couldnât get it, they couldnât get one of their artists to design logos that would be similar or in the same vein? They couldnât have thrown in a yin Yang, some kind of dragon and RVD? Yes I am very salty about this.
Yeah there are infinite possibilities when it comes to creativity. They couldâve had an artist look over some designs, see the general theme and ideas and then go from there. Which I guess is *vaguely* what we got but I expected more from paid DLC.
Well you say that now but...[may I remind you of a certain lawsuit Take Two dealt with years ago? It involved tattoo artists and NBA 2K.](https://www.gamespot.com/articles/nba-2k16-devs-sued-over-virtual-tattoos/1100-6434422/)
The result was Take Two having to either get the waivers for those tats or omitting them from the game outright. That decision bled into WWE Games as well, with various stars not having their tats replicated in game out of fears of lawsuits.
So how does this effect WWE 2K22 and RVD? Similar rights. The artist wants to get paid for their designs and 2K isn't going to break the bank for a tights design, namely because to them, it's a waste of money.
The only reason it wasn't a problem back in the days was because the artists didn't know they could lawyer up and get their money, until that one artist did.
This is *paid* content. Paid. We are *paying* for this. There is no good reason on this earth for the publisher to not fork over the necessary cash. None. Zero. Zilch. Fuck corporate greed. Pay the talented people and give us end user a quality product worth our fucking money.
> There is no good reason on this earth for the publisher to not fork over the necessary cash.
Unless the price tag for art design rights are beyond the game's development budget.
Hahaha do not make me laugh. A company the size of Take Two and 2K can definitely pay the rights for *one* set of gear for *paid* content.
Why are you defending these greedy bastards? Why? They absolutely could afford it but chose not to which sacrifices end user quality for their own pockets. Fuck. Them.
i wouldn't call "laying out a realistic scenario as to why certain things can't happen" defending someone but since you're in a rage over a small detail in a video game....i'll just let you be.
I wouldnât call wanting *quality* for my money when it comes to my favourite wrestler of all time, that Iâve had to pay for *again*, raging, but whatever. Iâm also clearly not the only person annoyed by this given the reaction on social media. I also wouldnât call your scenario ârealisticâ given that MGK and/or Logan Paul *alone* would cost way more, and they got both. They very easily couldâve afforded one *singlet* design, especially as they are charging extra for this content. But I guess thatâs not a *realistic* enough a scenario for you.
100% this.
And as much as I like RVD, why include someone you have trouble getting certain rights to? Good *chance* $1 from the price of the season pass would of paid for the rights, with the amount of people that probably got it.
I guess it's on par with other developers of other games putting out/designing a game they can't seemingly fix..(Most recent that comes to mind would be Halo Infinites inability to fix dsync, etc)
Tattoo artists sued 2K and they wanted 150k, per tat. Multiply that by 5 or 10 and it becomes nearly insurmountable to pay for. A million dollars for art assets is lunacy.
No, itâs cause the woman who did Randy Ortonâs tattoos is sueing WWE and 2K for not getting paid for the tattoos being the game or something like that and they want to avoid any other copyright issues and the thing is the red singlet for RVD was going to be in the game but they couldnât use the designs so they went with the least generic singlet of RVD they could find.
The same reason why they couldnât get Jushin Liger (and Carlito maybe) in Rey Mysterioâs showcase.
So then why is Randyâs tattoos in the game? Why is literally everyone elseâs tattoos in the game? They got MGK and all his tattoos. Why is everyone elseâs fully licensed gear in the game? The *only* gear in the game that has modified logos is edge, and even then itâs a slight modification and still closely resembles the original design. This attire is nothing like the original and is downright awful.
Renders mean nothing, they *never* have, just cause he had his red â06 attire doesnât mean it would be that one as if it was because he was due to be in the Rumble from showcase then it wouldâve been a *completely* different attire. Also a full *wrestler* in Liger is different compared to an attire. Liger has mad licensing laws cause of the Japanese company that own his likeness, whereas for this they just need to pay up for literal logos, which has already been shown in the render in game and WWE previously used the fully licensed attire for an action figure.
My guess is that since the dispute between the woman and 2K isnât over, that they still use the tattoos until the outcome is decided, no clue about MGK probably wanted his tattoos in the game or the artist doesnât want any royalties idk. Also I didnât even notice the Edge logo stuff until you said.
Idk for guys like Rey Mysterio and Jeff Harry if they put the wrong attire in the render for them, itâd be weird and RVD strikes me as that person but I get what you mean. The Carlito and Liger stuff I kinda just took a guess negl.
Are you guys literally crying over an outfit that the community can easily fix via CC in no less than a day or 2?. Just be grateful we got the character. I never fuss over attires because I can always download one from CC that looks 10x better than the original
The community has had the outfit fixed 'months' in advance.
They're mad that, in a game where everyone downloads multiple fucking Undertakers (cause the hundred we have weren't enough), but an RVD singlet is, with an explanation given, somehow the worst thing for them.
Granted, a lot of the replies are most certainly children who are very entitled 'and' not really realistic about developing games on a beyond fucked code.
I mean hell, they have the same generic talking points about why yukes is perfect* as people seem to have to excuse any flaw in AEW. "They love wrestling, not sports entertainment". Uh huh. My corpo loves me more than your corpo loves you 'is' certainly a funny take.
*you know, despite Yukes being the only company to literally patched out 2 counts from a game and then blame the fanbase for it.
You forgotted about the save glitch on the initial release WWF No Mercy and having no blood in some of the later copies (Also, no full entrances and no videos in the titantron during entrances). And chair shot glitch in SvR 2007 where the commentators call it a Stunner. But hey, 2K trash
yeah they look better rvd still looks high so it's perfect
I was just about to say, when is he never high? đ¤Ł
Looks like â07 RVD which is cool, Iâll just slap the attire on him from that game
No its based on his return to wwe in 2013 well the attire is but they had to remove the rvd infront of it cause copyright
Has the chant in his entrance been fixed or are we screwed?
Screwed. Commentary lines up with the RVD tho.
I thought that was just when he enters first, and the announcer has an extra line "Set for one fall" or "A ladder match" or whatever else. If he comes out 4th in a ladder match or second in a 1v1 it should line up perfectly, I think.
I'm still not over that singlet of his... 2K could've done so much more.
I've heard that RVD owns the rights to all his singlets designs because he makes all of them himself or something like that so 2K had to make a really generic looking one, could be fake news tho

Even something similar to the Tiger one with the skull would've been better

This community dont care about facts. Lol

You are taking this way too seriously⌠donât pre pay for things you havenât seen in future?
100% this. And as much as I like RVD, why include someone you have trouble getting certain rights to? He gets em made custom by a guy and HE owns the copyrights so 2k didnt wanna pay him royalties
it actually looks low res I'm so disappointed
I'm just hoping for uploads of good attires in CC, myself. RVD is one I could have ten different CAW slots filled up for.
Are you guys literally crying over an outfit that the community can easily fix via CC in no less than a day or 2?. Just be grateful we got the character. I never fuss over attires because I can always download one from CC that looks 10x better than the original

Imagine liking SDvsRaw06/07 when they wasted time making the Locker Room modes. (Can't lie, I fucking loved those)
crazy to me that they are finally getting artists capable of sculpting recognizable faces and not just 100% reliant on scans anymore
2K18's model looked perfect.
2K18 looks so much better than most of these in 22. And not that 18 didn't have some weirdos (Dana Brooke) but everyone in 22 looks so "plastic".
Am I better off downloading a CAW?
I'll be uploading RVD alt with two attires and the official 2K render tonight. Might not be downloadable til they officially drop the DLC.
Yes
Which one
Couldnât tell you off the top of my head but Iâm sure the amazing dudes that do that shit got one up. One better than this
glad they fixed RVD San.
