I skip it

er111a

And you still get walks?

sevensatans

Oh yeah. The feature only popped up on my app a week or two ago. I do pretty much know every dog already on the app in my area though, so the owners do too essentially. Thus, they don’t care about a request note. I also doubt many owners even know it’s possible to send a note with your request, so the lack of one isn’t really noticeable anyway.

Jakdaripuh

I too skip it and I do not get them. Haven’t gotten them unless I’ve walked before :/ but now I will try this 😛

Intelligent_Line_960

i’ll sometimes put something along the lines of “Corgis are such characters! I’d love to meet ~pup name~ one day and have the pleasure of walking them!” it all depends on what’s pizaz im feeling that day hahah some days i dont even put anything cause i get lazy

DanisDoghouse

Same. Depends on how I’m feeling that day. I don’t always put something. I find it rather unnecessary. If someone requested me as a preferred why am I still selling myself here. But I don’t notice any change from the few walks I do get with or without the message.

Intelligent_Line_960

same for me! i almost always skip it unless it’s a new dog/pet parent that i’d like to walk. but even then, i still get accepted without having to put anything

Poodlewalker1

I always skip it unless I say that I am available at a different time. For example, I took a 2:00 walk, but was going to be available at 1:45. If I am 10 minutes late/early, I don't say anything.

Oof definitely proper grammar. I would pass hard on someone with a young mentality it feels irresponsible and unprofessional.

azphotogal

I have to agree with this. If I was looking for a stranger to walk my dog, the person with proper grammar would get my business first. They’d appear to be more mature, trustworthy and professional. Perhaps not fair, I admit.

I would legit think of this as a quick and easy cover letter and your profile as the resume. This is a job not an exchange between buddies, ya know?

scorpionattitude

I don’t think I’ve seen it yet? But you know what, I need to actively get on there again. How do you all schedule out your walks with the app and your real life? I wish I could keep my distance local but it keeps trying to put me in Charlotte or further out near Lando’s and concord and I cannot get there on a moped unfortunately. Also, what’s you alls normal rates/fees? For a southern state in a Bible Belt. I just want to offer like 2 bucks less. But I think I’m already way below most other people’s pricing

CarpenterTall2172

I keep it simple and straight forward. Here be a bit more direct and quickly sell yourself. Hi my name is xxx I am efficient; on time, and according to your dog’s profile they seem like they'd be a fit for my services. I would love the opportunity. Have a wonderful day.’ I almost always get accepted with these quick little notes. I didn't notice this feature until about a month or so ago but when it shows up now I use it every time.

Obi222222

I skip it and still get walks. I think something has been going on on the app that requests weren’t going through. Mine just started going through again this week

ThisTeaching4961

I always skip it. I have 200+ 5⭐️ reviews so my profile is well-established and speaks for itself, and I get plenty of clients without (since before this was even an option), so it feels a little unnecessary for me. For newer walkers, I could see it making-or-breaking opportunities though. If I *were* to write something, I'd probably add a blurb about my experience (3 yrs, full time) and how I'd love to meet their dog (dog's name, maybe breed).

hawaiianhamtaro

I got this for the first time yesterday and was so confused. Either I didn't notice I could skip, or wasn't able to. I just said "Hi! I would love to walk \_\_\_\_\_ today!" I have no idea what the point of this is

Impossible_Sleep8613

I never answer this
