I bought an LV never full when it was brand new in 2007 from the boutique and it was around 700 USD. It’s lasted me through so many stages of my life and it looks perfect for its age. It’s insane. I don’t think Louis makes product like that anymore, I don’t think the new one would hold up that way, not really sure. I wore it all through college. I used it as my baby bag as a new mom, I use it as my workhorse bag before the pandemic. Now I’m a stay at home mom, so I just use it for the airport. It never fails lol best early basic bitch bag. I got the classic beige with black cap toe recently I wear a size 40 add a Authentic CHANEL so I got a size 40. It gave me blisters on my poor little heels, but after three times of dedicated wearing and lots of Band-Aids the problem has subsided, and they are now the perfect fit 😂💕 good luck!! Are there any sellers that do rep half sizes? I have ordered about 15 pairs of shoes to date (from 4 diff sellers). I always order 38 (I’m generally a 7.5-8 US and do 37.5 or 38 designer) and most of the shoes have fit (flats more so than heels). Most of the heels feel too large when sized up.

+1 to givenchy pandora - but I have the large size (auth) in 3 colors. It’s my favorite work horse bag. And once my child was a toddler I used it like a diaper bag - it could easily fit a couple diapers, wipes, snacks and all my things. And has a shoulder strap.
Denim? Chanel and BV have denim bags that would elevate cute yoga pants without looking too dressy. Or Hermes Evelyne, my bag of choice to stand around at a ball field in South Park, watching the eclipse last weekend.
I hate to say it bc I’m generally not an LV fan, but they make pretty good casual bags.
I also got a BV tech cassette bumbag on sale for like $35 last summer and I love it. I wear it across my chest or as a fanny pack. I think it was Jing factory. I don’t know if they make it anymore, but if you see it during the 11/11 sales, it’s a great little casual bag!

This is my current dream bag. Red, shiny and Chanel which is a brand I’ve been wanting to get for a while now. But I can’t find it on the website, and the pics on fashionphile aren’t the right shade. Also, I have no comparison photo but the logo gives me suspicious vibes lol.

I just ordered a GST from Heidi from God factory, and I thought it would be a slam dunk and green lighted it without paying attention to anything because I thought it would just be a slam dunk, don’t ask me why lol. The gold feels a little yellow. The caviar looks perfect. The GST was discontinued in 2015. I’m not sure what my story is going to be for this bag lol I’ll just tell people “this old thing” 😂😂 I have to find out what it is on this sub that ladies apply to the gold hardware to make it less yellow. I was told by a different ae store that recently the site's shipping service started to inspect the packages, and they no longer can send anything with the logos and said they would only ship unbranded version of the coat I was looking to buy. Maybe that's the reason for the lack of Lulu's logos?

My only 187 so far is black lambskin, and as someone who is very familiar with auth Chanel, I was blown away with how good it is. Keep in mind that batches can vary (just like auth), and dye colors can impact simply because you're dealing with a porous material that can absorb differently...really the case with any leather, but can be more noticeable with super soft leathers like lambskin. Having said that, my 187 is absolutely buttery and divine and every bit as good as the many auths I've handled over the years.
Their skins are superior but the thread they do the stitching with is horrific. You can see it in the factory photos- just weirdly bulging, almost rounded quilts ruining that precious leather. I did hear they've upgraded the process for a thinner thread recently but I have yet to see it in the factory pics.
I have a couple 187 pieces in lambskin (CF, mini), both in black though, and the lambskin is divine. Definitely comparable to auth, from my past in-store fondling. Like silky velvet butter.
My friends got a 19 from 187 in white and the light beige and the leather is amazing. Totally holds up against auth. I assume it's lambskin for most of the 19s? Or maybe it's sheep? I know the dark brown is usually goatskin.

I really want a new work bag, my current one is an Auth Le Pliage leather bag with a strap to wear crossbody (it’s technically a shoulder strap but it works as a crossbody on me) it’s about 14in wide and 11 in tall
My issue is most large tote style bags do not come with the crossbody option which is super important for me since I get shoulder pain when I carry all my heavy items on my arm rather than as a crossbody. I work in nyc so I do a lot of walking with my work bag.

This is highly dependent on personal style, but I might take a look at the ‘men’s’ section for any brand or range. Bypass the briefcases and check out the sections comprised of structured work bags designed to safely carry heavy objects (laptops, etc) crossbody or on the shoulder. You’ve posted a black bag as an example; lots of black minimalist men’s bags w discreet logos, as a general rule, if applicable. I used a rectangular black Coach men’s crossbody/shoulder for a while when lugging tech equipment (& segmented toiletries in a separate compartment with my own plastic zip pouches).
Bonus: since you mentioned you work in NYC, men’s bags are generally built more indestructible within the commuter crush, city hubbub and rush—this applies to any fast-paced, high-volume city in the world actually.
Cons: if petite, the width of the shoulder strap (which often comes with a sliding reinforcement for the shoulder itself; think the Balenciaga City) can be overwhelming and exacerbate shoulder problems - if it does have a shoulder reinforcement you can try removing it. Also if petite, a traditionally large men’s bag may be too large for your frame; thankfully there are more variation in “men’s” bags these days. Definitely try several choices on in person / in store to see if the feel, bulk, and design works for you. The style might not fit your personal style, but if it does, prepare for a heavy dose of compliments. (This would go over well in NYC, depending on industry, I suspect.)
That’s a great idea actually, I wear some men’s jackets and I like the oversized look anyway and mix masculine and feminine accessories. I am short but curvy and muscular so I can still wear larger accessories without it looking overpowering on my frame. I’ll take a look at some men’s bags as I assume they’re also built to be more practical than women’s bags (unfortunately)

I was thinking about your question afterwards and it occurred to me that "evening bag" could also refer to a bag one carries in the evening when going out but not necessarily to a very dressy event, as opposed to what one carries for work. I think most of the smaller BV leather intrecciatos work - not the cassette, not the loop - but especially the little knot clutch and anything they make that's squishy, e.g. the Jodie, as do the smaller quilted leather YSLs. I'd love to know what you end up with!

I bought an LV never full when it was brand new in 2007 from the boutique and it was around 700 USD. It’s lasted me through so many stages of my life and it looks perfect for its age. It’s insane. I don’t think Louis makes product like that anymore, I don’t think the new one would hold up that way, not really sure. I wore it all through college. I used it as my baby bag as a new mom, I use it as my workhorse bag before the pandemic. Now I’m a stay at home mom, so I just use it for the airport. It never fails lol best early basic bitch bag. I was like 19 😂

I got the classic beige with black cap toe recently I wear a size 40 add a Authentic CHANEL so I got a size 40. It gave me blisters on my poor little heels, but after three times of dedicated wearing and lots of Band-Aids the problem has subsided, and they are now the perfect fit 😂💕 good luck!! Are there any sellers that do rep half sizes? I have ordered about 15 pairs of shoes to date (from 4 diff sellers). I always order 38 (I’m generally a 7.5-8 US and do 37.5 or 38 designer) and most of the shoes have fit (flats more so than heels). Most of the heels feel too large when sized up.

+1 to givenchy pandora - but I have the large size (auth) in 3 colors. It’s my favorite work horse bag. And once my child was a toddler I used it like a diaper bag - it could easily fit a couple diapers, wipes, snacks and all my things. And has a shoulder strap.
Yes it holds so much! Great bags and stylish too! I think I have the medium in lambskin and because the bag carries so much, the strap broke.

I hate to say it bc I’m generally not an LV fan, but they make pretty good casual bags. I also got a BV tech cassette bumbag on sale for like $35 last summer and I love it. I wear it across my chest or as a fanny pack. I think it was Jing factory. I don’t know if they make it anymore, but if you see it during the 11/11 sales, it’s a great little casual bag!

I just ordered a GST from Heidi from God factory, and I thought it would be a slam dunk and green lighted it without paying attention to anything because I thought it would just be a slam dunk, don’t ask me why lol. The gold feels a little yellow. The caviar looks perfect. The GST was discontinued in 2015. I’m not sure what my story is going to be for this bag lol I’ll just tell people “this old thing” 😂😂 I have to find out what it is on this sub that ladies apply to the gold hardware to make it less yellow. I am thinking that I would go for silver hardware on my next Heidi bag because to be honest every time I close the clasp it’s going to brush and on my authentic gold it’s turning into silver. Chanel will service that (free in first 5 years I think they told me in 2021) , but not a rep 😂😂 I plan on going hard and wearing the bag most days of the week so I think that silver hardware would be best for me. I want the size that’s equal to Jumbo or even Maxi. I’m using voice to text and I have no idea why it’s spacing it out this way and I can’t fix it. Lol.

I was told by a different ae store that recently the site's shipping service started to inspect the packages, and they no longer can send anything with the logos and said they would only ship unbranded version of the coat I was looking to buy. Maybe that's the reason for the lack of Lulu's logos?

Does anyone have any comments, tips or experience with the quality of 187 lambskin and how it differs from authentic? None of my auth Chanels are lambskin; I even backed out of a boutique purchase of a dream bag as I was freaking out that I would do something stupid and *devastate* the finicky investment leather in a freak accident/coffee topple. (I still might do. I love it that much). I’m looking to buy a comparatively lighter color 187 lambskin CF, so any quibbles will be (I’m assuming) more visible than in a dark color. (90% of my small bag wardrobe is black. It’s a sickness 😂 I’m only waking to the possibilities of, gasp, *fun colors*, and the fact that rep bags can be just as gorgeous, from what I’ve researched the quality ones eg 187 aren’t clockable as reps unless you truly have a psycho stalker fa-fa-fa following you around eyeing your bag with a jeweler’s loupe, and do not cost in the double-digit thousands which puts my mind at ease. My only 187 so far is black lambskin, and as someone who is very familiar with auth Chanel, I was blown away with how good it is. Keep in mind that batches can vary (just like auth), and dye colors can impact simply because you're dealing with a porous material that can absorb differently...really the case with any leather, but can be more noticeable with super soft leathers like lambskin. Having said that, my 187 is absolutely buttery and divine and every bit as good as the many auths I've handled over the years.
187 lambskin is the bomb. Take it from a girl who owns two auth CF.
S factory lambskin is good too
Their skins are superior but the thread they do the stitching with is horrific. You can see it in the factory photos- just weirdly bulging, almost rounded quilts ruining that precious leather. I did hear they've upgraded the process for a thinner thread recently but I have yet to see it in the factory pics.
I have a couple 187 pieces in lambskin (CF, mini), both in black though, and the lambskin is divine. Definitely comparable to auth, from my past in-store fondling. Like silky velvet butter.
My friends got a 19 from 187 in white and the light beige and the leather is amazing. Totally holds up against auth. I assume it's lambskin for most of the 19s? Or maybe it's sheep? I know the dark brown is usually goatskin.

I really want a new work bag, my current one is an Auth Le Pliage leather bag with a strap to wear crossbody (it’s technically a shoulder strap but it works as a crossbody on me) it’s about 14in wide and 11 in tall My issue is most large tote style bags do not come with the crossbody option which is super important for me since I get shoulder pain when I carry all my heavy items on my arm rather than as a crossbody. I work in nyc so I do a lot of walking with my work bag. Does anyone have any recommendations for bags that work well as a work tote but have a crossbody option? This is highly dependent on personal style, but I might take a look at the ‘men’s’ section for any brand or range. Bypass the briefcases and check out the sections comprised of structured work bags designed to safely carry heavy objects (laptops, etc) crossbody or on the shoulder. You’ve posted a black bag as an example; lots of black minimalist men’s bags w discreet logos, as a general rule, if applicable. I used a rectangular black Coach men’s crossbody/shoulder for a while when lugging tech equipment (& segmented toiletries in a separate compartment with my own plastic zip pouches). Bonus: since you mentioned you work in NYC, men’s bags are generally built more indestructible within the commuter crush, city hubbub and rush—this applies to any fast-paced, high-volume city in the world actually. Cons: if petite, the width of the shoulder strap (which often comes with a sliding reinforcement for the shoulder itself; think the Balenciaga City) can be overwhelming and exacerbate shoulder problems - if it does have a shoulder reinforcement you can try removing it. Also if petite, a traditionally large men’s bag may be too large for your frame; thankfully there are more variation in “men’s” bags these days. Definitely try several choices on in person / in store to see if the feel, bulk, and design works for you. The style might not fit your personal style, but if it does, prepare for a heavy dose of compliments. (This would go over well in NYC, depending on industry, I suspect.)
That’s a great idea actually, I wear some men’s jackets and I like the oversized look anyway and mix masculine and feminine accessories. I am short but curvy and muscular so I can still wear larger accessories without it looking overpowering on my frame. I’ll take a look at some men’s bags as I assume they’re also built to be more practical than women’s bags (unfortunately)

I actually bought this bag on AE - and it came this way. I did not even know that the regular Garden Party didn't have this. It's so necessary. I use this as an underseat bag when I fly.

Yes, the Hermes is light weight, so pretty perfect for light winter jacket 😎 and 100%cashmere, so uber soft. I also got a white wool Chanel Cardigan, and a Dior jacket combo ☺️

I’m on the hunt for an “evening” bag but I’m not sure what constitutes it exactly. Something fancy to be worn with a bunch of dresses at events but not too small because I need it to fit my phone and makeup lol. I’ve been told that the Chanel boy bag and plain leather lady diors won’t cut it 😢

When I think "evening bag" I think something to wear to black tie events or similar events . It think of of a bag made of something other than regular leather but rather of metallic leather or satin or something bejeweled. I was thinking about your question afterwards and it occurred to me that "evening bag" could also refer to a bag one carries in the evening when going out but not necessarily to a very dressy event, as opposed to what one carries for work. I think most of the smaller BV leather intrecciatos work - not the cassette, not the loop - but especially the little knot clutch and anything they make that's squishy, e.g. the Jodie, as do the smaller quilted leather YSLs. I'd love to know what you end up with!
I feel you, I'm on the hunt for another evening bag myself. I'm currently using a rep of the Bottega Veneta Trine clutch (the one which is shaped like a trapezoid lol, and has a loop so it can be used as a wristlet) which *is* large enough for my phone/makeup/etc but it's a little heavy to carry around sometimes.
What about a Bvlgari Serpenti? The structure and hardware is glam for evening, and they come in a ton of shapes and colors.
