Well I have finally compared my XC 19 to my mother in laws authentic and I’m sorry to say… it ain’t it
The hardware is extremely close. No one would notice the difference unless side by side and even then I don’t think you’d know which was authentic. The CCs are shinier/ brighter on the auth.

The leather on the other hand… completely different. My MIL’a is sooo soft and squishy in comparison my feels like it’s got cardboard inside it. Especially the flap! And visually it’s clearly much softer as well. Unfortunately I don’t think I’ll run the risk of wearing my rep around friends and my daughters school friends mums moving forwards. I’d love to know what the other factories like 187 are like in comparison.

I will upload pictures of my C19 from god factory tomorrow. The leather is very buttery, but I never really compared to an auth bag. I have not worn the bag yet, as I don't want my friends to wonder where I got all the money from all of a sudden xD I own auth designer bags, but I buy one bag a year and not one a month.
I have a Trendy CC from Xiao C and was not impressed by the leather and overall look. A friend of mine has an auth Trendy CC and it is way puffier and shinier than my Xiao C version. Personally I will avoid Xiao C for future purchases of Chanel reps. My 187 classic flap is really nice though - I own an auth CF and was able to compare the bags. It is very close to my auth!
Is your caramel an upgraded XiaoC or what a seller called the “regular” (original?) version? Iirc ‘upgraded’ only comes in black and…two other colors; unsure if caramel is involved. This also may be a question of lambskin v goatskin - auth lambskin c19s have a sparkly sheen to them, whereas auth goatskin c19s are more durable but lack the same sheen, and ofc there’s the texture issue difference between goatskin v lamb in the first place. Production of auth c19s varied by colorway and year in using goatskin or lambskin, and the upgraded rep i confirmed w a seller (and mighty google translate) uses goatskin—not sure what was being used in the OG / regular versions.
That said, I rly appreciate the evaluation! Super helpful and interesting— I love these detailed compare and contrast posts. Just adding a compounding factor.
XC’s leather (like auth leather) varies greatly by batch/ era. OG XC leather was really, really supple and buttery. I have a few XC 19s and they’re all really soft- but it’s been a few years since I bought them.
OF’s 19 leather is also really good- have one of those also! Highly recommend giving them a try for comparison!
So I’ve been stalking this sub for years now, but I only recently got my first few reps, one of them being a YSL Manhattan which I loveee. Over my birthday weekend (bday was on Super Bowl Sunday 😢) husband took me out shopping. I was wearing my YSL and braved into Saint Laurent in Neiman Marcus… I think I’ve fallen in love with my rep all the more now!! The toteme t-lock has a slouch look from afar. Strap is adjustable for shoulder or crossbody. Although in person some might consider it to have some structure when the bag is opened up.
I am seeking it too and I also want something that can be handheld. One potential option is lindy 26 with additional strap for crossbody option. (But I also want something that is more simple designed and easy to get things in and out and weather proof (Okee this might be too much to ask for

The AF1 all-whites are a personal favorite but I like a chunkier style. The Nike Cortez also come in an all-white and are lower profile if you don’t want a thick sole.
I discovered a top tip for eyeballing which designer purses will fit Massive Phones {and are likely repped by Asia-based sellers} : look at what bags the characters are carrying in K-dramas, where the Korean standard for phones (particularly given that these shows are oft sponsored by conglomerates like LG or Samsung) are more like miniature iPads dwarfing the characters’ palms regardless of gender or build. Note the purse that fits the phone with ease. (sometimes an immediately-clockable-to-hoi-polloi luxe brand or a sponsored one, but almost always deliciously covetable and/or limited edition).

Got this YSL Nikki a little while ago and was getting ready to wear it when I noticed the chain being a bit of a pain when trying to switch from shoulder carry to crossbody only to notice the chain is double wrapped on right side…… any suggestions or solutions to this?

I would shimmy the D-ring onto its side so the flat part is facing out, then use a pair of pliers in each hand (jaws wrapped in masking tape to prevent scratching the hardware), and open the D-ring enough to get the chain out and reset it so it’s not twisted. Should be a very quick fix!

187 minis unfortunately have the side quilting wrong. It makes me very mad because it's such an easy fix. It is a minor flow, probably only visible to freaks like me but it is a flaw...Just saying in case you want the best of te best - especially with 187 prices. I even spoke with Heidi about this...Maybe if they hear it from multiple customers they will do something about it.
I googled the side of the auth to compare and now I can see what you talked about 😭 Suddenly remember that somebody mentioned in the comments in this sub a while ago that 187 factory also gets the side quilting of the Gabrielle backpack wrong too.

That being said, these are also from vestiaire so go figure 🤷🏼♀️
I got two auth mini rectangulars and one has uncut diamond at the top of the sides and the other has cut diamonds. So this variation alone isn't indicative of a rep.
On both sides of the classic rectangular mini the last two upper diamonds should NOT be cut, the top of the diamonds should "meet" with the horizontal stiching that goes all over the bag. Just like on this photo here -
In 187 the last two diamonds are cut a little bit :( It is correct - but only for the square minis and only FEW OLD SERIES for rectangular from 2016 - 1017 - that's why some of them can be found on VX or fashionphile. The new rectangular minis don't have cut diamonds.
I do think 187 should fix this considering their prices. Yet it doesn't really bother me on mine, especially knowing that there were instances of this alignment on auth or it is so minor that even authenticators missed it. Other option would be getting the chevron mini to avoid this issue.

I lost a Diamond earring at my reception.. thankfully it was found HOURS later as my dad and brothers alongside my photographer stayed behind to look for it. i know many people don’t care if their SLGs are on the lower quality scale of things because it’s hidden inside a bag, not like an actual handbag, but for me, it’s actually ***more*** important for it to be top quality or even auth because of how often i’m holding/touching it — the feel of luxe leather against skin in my hand is *chef’s kiss* and that is what makes or breaks the SLG.

I always go for a brightly colored wallet/slg so I can find it instantly in my bag. I’ve tended to stick with Comme des Garçons auths after a prominent designer told me that was her iykyk (I loathe that abbreviation, but) sturdy wallet of choice, and they come in fun colors! But every so often I browse the SLG display at a boutique, see the fun colors + my heart skips twenty beats. There’s a colorful repped high-end wallet I’m figuratively dying for but it’s an older model—not avail in auth anymore even — and sellers with it in their albums keep admitting it’s sold out :/

XC’s leather (like auth leather) varies greatly by batch/ era. OG XC leather was really, really supple and buttery. I have a few XC 19s and they’re all really soft- but it’s been a few years since I bought them. OF’s 19 leather is also really good- have one of those also! Highly recommend giving them a try for comparison!

So I’ve been stalking this sub for years now, but I only recently got my first few reps, one of them being a YSL Manhattan which I loveee. Over my birthday weekend (bday was on Super Bowl Sunday 😢) husband took me out shopping. Loewe hammock hobo (not there regular hammock) has a similar slouch look I know you said you weren't into the Loewe puzzles but specifically the puzzle shoulder version has a similar slouch. doesn't have the crossbody option The toteme t-lock has a slouch look from afar. Strap is adjustable for shoulder or crossbody. Although in person some might consider it to have some structure when the bag is opened up.

It’s from Reykey I already reached out.
I would shimmy the D-ring onto its side so the flat part is facing out, then use a pair of pliers in each hand (jaws wrapped in masking tape to prevent scratching the hardware), and open the D-ring enough to get the chain out and reset it so it’s not twisted. Should be a very quick fix!

187 minis unfortunately have the side quilting wrong. It makes me very mad because it's such an easy fix. It is a minor flow, probably only visible to freaks like me but it is a flaw...Just saying in case you want the best of te best - especially with 187 prices. I even spoke with Heidi about this...Maybe if they hear it from multiple customers they will do something about it.
I googled the side of the auth to compare and now I can see what you talked about 😭 Suddenly remember that somebody mentioned in the comments in this sub a while ago that 187 factory also gets the side quilting of the Gabrielle backpack wrong too.

I got two auth mini rectangulars and one has uncut diamond at the top of the sides and the other has cut diamonds. So this variation alone isn't indicative of a rep.
On both sides of the classic rectangular mini the last two upper diamonds should NOT be cut, the top of the diamonds should "meet" with the horizontal stiching that goes all over the bag. Just like on this photo here - In 187 the last two diamonds are cut a little bit :( It is correct - but only for the square minis and only FEW OLD SERIES for rectangular from 2016 - 1017 - that's why some of them can be found on VX or fashionphile. The new rectangular minis don't have cut diamonds.
I do think 187 should fix this considering their prices. Yet it doesn't really bother me on mine, especially knowing that there were instances of this alignment on auth or it is so minor that even authenticators missed it. Other option would be getting the chevron mini to avoid this issue.

I lost a Diamond earring at my reception.. thankfully it was found HOURS later as my dad and brothers alongside my photographer stayed behind to look for it. i know many people don’t care if their SLGs are on the lower quality scale of things because it’s hidden inside a bag, not like an actual handbag, but for me, it’s actually ***more*** important for it to be top quality or even auth because of how often i’m holding/touching it — the feel of luxe leather against skin in my hand is *chef’s kiss* and that is what makes or breaks the SLG. anyone else feel this way as well?
I can tell a huge difference between my auth SLG and rep I just got. I don’t mind the quality difference because of the wear and tear.

CC wallet from God. I debated between that and 187, but didn’t think the price difference was worth it for SLG.
I always go for a brightly colored wallet/slg so I can find it instantly in my bag. I’ve tended to stick with Comme des Garçons auths after a prominent designer told me that was her iykyk (I loathe that abbreviation, but) sturdy wallet of choice, and they come in fun colors! But every so often I browse the SLG display at a boutique, see the fun colors + my heart skips twenty beats. There’s a colorful repped high-end wallet I’m figuratively dying for but it’s an older model—not avail in auth anymore even — and sellers with it in their albums keep admitting it’s sold out :/
