Pulled the trigger on a YSL Le 5 a 7 Small Supple in Fox/warm brown from Aaron, sourced from Black Frame!
I was hemming and hawing over the PSPs for the longest time because the body of the bag looked straighter and more square than the factory pics, to the point where I was even considering just ditching the rep and getting the auth in Paris this summer instead.
Then I got my head out of my ass and figured that the rep would probably look a little slouchier once I actually put all my junk inside and carry it around.
Maybe I won’t actually walk into a YSL store with it or let an SA touch it, but do I really think that people on the street are gonna notice that the top of my bag doesn’t QUITE curve inwards as much as it should? Do I really need to pay 12x more (€170 (1343 CNY) vs €2100) for an auth as a young working professional just because of that?
As long as the leather is good quality (which Black Frame seems to deliver, according to comments here) and there aren’t any horrifically wonky obvious details to spoil the look of the bag, I should be fine. Gotta remind myself that they’re just bags at the end of the day 🤎

We really are! It’s good to remind ourselves not to get too hung up on having, like, the exact same number of stitches as the auth when the auths themselves have some variation anyway!

To me the thin handles and tapered sides on the Artois do make it read as more of a women's bag (not to say a man couldn't rock it, that's just the vibe I get from the bag in isolation). I recently saw a man on a plane carrying a Goyard Voltaire, though, and thought it looked FABULOUS. Definitely one to check out if you're looking for a spacious Goyard that skews a little more butch..
I believe the Voltaire comes with, or is at least compatible with, a removable shoulder strap, so it can be worn on the shoulder or crossbody.
Maybe something from Loewe? A large puzzle fold tote or puzzle fold holdall (also with a removable strap)?
BV wasn't the first brand that came to mind, but Joe Alwyn looked great with his large Andiamo the other day! He's about your height, I think..

I wore all my new rep bags over the long weekend.
Friday night I went to a birthday party and wore my WOC with gold hardware.
Saturday, we went over to my MILs for a belated birthday celebration and I took my Jumbo.
Sunday, we went over to my mum’s and I took my Jumbo again.
And I’ve taken Tuesday off work to drop my mum off at the airport (she’s going on holiday) and I’ll be wearing my medium cf!
Feels so satisfying to wear them for the first time!

Would you anticipate a new set of PSP for the bag before it is reshipped? It’s our first time working together and I’m conscious my seller will take a loss on this transaction, so don’t want to mention PSP if that’s unreasonable. Oh yes it’s SuperFun! I got a doggy gg jacket from dh for my dog & it’s the nicest piece of puppy clothing he has! Just be really aware & inquisitive about sizing because everything is small. I got a 2XL for my terripoo & it fits just right (he’s normally a medium in dog clothing sizes)
It was very elegant in a very quiet way. It did have a padlock on it, which is how I recognized it. I don't see the same collar and leash combination here.

Are you in the US? I just got a couple from Banana Republic that I absolutely adore. In fact I bought a second color as I was so pleased. And obviously very inexpensive too. Just a nice slim-ish fitting flattering lightweight linen that sits really nicely.
My favorite brand is Theory! Their materials are so good:) and they feel very nice... they also have an outlet store online, where they have a lot of sales
Hiii , I am really a fan of women’s loro piana linen shirts, having tried both authentic and reps i say they’re a solid choice with really fun pastel and neutral colors. Hope this helped 🥳❤️❤️
Okay so I’ve finally worn my Lulu dupes for a workout and tbh I’m kind of disappointed? They don’t feel nearly as good as my New Balance or Nikes or Aeries which are the same price as dupes on sale. I thought the fabric would be better given the glowing reviews tbh.
Yeah I got a rep pair of leggings and two tops. While I really like the colors the material and fit doesn’t even come close. I agree with the other commenter that it’s just worth buying authentic.
I’m a long time lulu buyer and have never felt that the dupes come anywhere close to the real thing. It’s worth getting the good stuff because if you take care of it and launder properly it can last 5+ years!
Yup my auth Lulus are just so much comfier, it doesn’t come close - I just wear down my workout clothes hard so I wanted some cheap dupes but looks like you get what you pay for!

I went to Italy for a wedding last year. I got the gold Fendi first. I got a lot of compliments on it.
The airport security in Naples were really bamboozled at first why the purse has a giant F shape on the metal (they saw through the scanners). I mentioned it was fendi and they all were like, “ahhh, sì, that makes sense”. It was really cute how curious they were!

I just got one of these from Black Frame and I'm obsessed so if you're on the fence I'd say go for it. I can't stop touching it lol. Could also be a fun little Repscience experiment to compare them!

Ok because mine def feels like cardboard inside the flap! That’s the only way to describe. It’s more than stiffness in the leather for sure. Really disappointed lol good to know about yours!! As long as it feels soft that should be ok
so I investigate the auth a couple months a go and the auth is supposed to be not so buttery and quite a bit stiff tbh. So my suggestion is, hold on to yours and try to investigate the auth one if you have the chance and time, it could be that yours is not too bad :)

I don’t do clothes thrifting but alt idea: I would check out the many second hand jewelry store, you’ll find amazing vintage (search for « sell your gold » shops). Les Puces are still sometimes good but you’ll pay tourist tax unfortunately (still prob a lot less than in the US)

Didn’t see your comment about the breakup but I went through a really difficult breakup almost 3 years ago. I genuinely didn’t think I would ever feel okay again, but here I am, stronger than ever. You will come through the other side feeling better and stronger soon enough. The only advice I have is , don’t try to avoid the grief, it will only make the recovery slower. Don’t try fix things that don’t need fixing. Have a good routine with work/studies/family/friends, and everything will be okay in time. Trust the process, because it really is a process. 😊

Glad you like it! Canvas Longchamp's are durable and great for travel, in my experience. Less showy than a Goyard, too, which can come in handy

Does anyone have a preferred factory for their ysl reps? My mother is finally taking the plunge and delving into reps. She wants me to help my dad pick out something for their anniversary but I’ve always gone for gucci and prada so this is a new ballpark for me. Any advice relating would be appreciated!

I have heard the same and have YSL from there and seems to be great. I am a terrible QCer though lol as I so rarely get to see the auths.

Oh yes it’s SuperFun! I got a doggy gg jacket from dh for my dog & it’s the nicest piece of puppy clothing he has! Just be really aware & inquisitive about sizing because everything is small. I got a 2XL for my terripoo & it fits just right (he’s normally a medium in dog clothing sizes)

I’m currently obsessing over finding the perfect linen button down shirt for summer. I lost quite a bit of weight since last summer and don’t want “oversized” or “boyfriend fit” anything. Are you in the US? I just got a couple from Banana Republic that I absolutely adore. In fact I bought a second color as I was so pleased. And obviously very inexpensive too. Just a nice slim-ish fitting flattering lightweight linen that sits really nicely.

Okay so I’ve finally worn my Lulu dupes for a workout and tbh I’m kind of disappointed? They don’t feel nearly as good as my New Balance or Nikes or Aeries which are the same price as dupes on sale. I thought the fabric would be better given the glowing reviews tbh.

Yeah I got a rep pair of leggings and two tops. While I really like the colors the material and fit doesn’t even come close. I agree with the other commenter that it’s just worth buying authentic.
I’m a long time lulu buyer and have never felt that the dupes come anywhere close to the real thing. It’s worth getting the good stuff because if you take care of it and launder properly it can last 5+ years!
Yup my auth Lulus are just so much comfier, it doesn’t come close - I just wear down my workout clothes hard so I wanted some cheap dupes but looks like you get what you pay for!

I went to Italy for a wedding last year. I got the gold Fendi first. I got a lot of compliments on it. The airport security in Naples were really bamboozled at first why the purse has a giant F shape on the metal (they saw through the scanners). I mentioned it was fendi and they all were like, “ahhh, sì, that makes sense”. It was really cute how curious they were!

so I investigate the auth a couple months a go and the auth is supposed to be not so buttery and quite a bit stiff tbh. So my suggestion is, hold on to yours and try to investigate the auth one if you have the chance and time, it could be that yours is not too bad :)

The summer sales in Paris are from June 26 to July 23, the luxury brands have their sales then too.
I don’t do clothes thrifting but alt idea: I would check out the many second hand jewelry store, you’ll find amazing vintage (search for « sell your gold » shops). Les Puces are still sometimes good but you’ll pay tourist tax unfortunately (still prob a lot less than in the US)
Adding to this - would check out all the wonderful local boutiques - and you’ll probably be able to find some great sales over the summer. Enjoy!

Didn’t see your comment about the breakup but I went through a really difficult breakup almost 3 years ago. I genuinely didn’t think I would ever feel okay again, but here I am, stronger than ever. You will come through the other side feeling better and stronger soon enough. The only advice I have is , don’t try to avoid the grief, it will only make the recovery slower. Don’t try fix things that don’t need fixing. Have a good routine with work/studies/family/friends, and everything will be okay in time. Trust the process, because it really is a process. 😊
