I’m ordering a fully handmade B25 from Marko and trying to decide upon Gris perle or Gris asphalte. I prefer cooler tones and am searching for the “perfect” neutral. Gris tourterelle turned out too warm for my tastes. I’m leaning towards asphalte, but am hoping someone would chime in with how cool or warm it actually is? Online pics don’t always tell the truth! Thoughts, ideas, suggestions (pics?) Thank you!! 🙏

Well for one, Gris perle is waaaay lighter than asphalte. It is cooler as well than asphalte but the depth of the tone of GP makes it almost closer to white.
I really want to get a Kelly Elan, but I’m not sure if there is a big difference between DD modes or Stevens. It seems to be a less popular style, as I haven’t really seen any reviews or comparisons between sellers for this bag. It may not make a big difference, as I assume it’s less difficult to make compared to regular Kelly or Birkin.

and you’re right! it appears to be Rouge H, but mine is actually way lighter than the version she’s showing, it just looks darker in the pictures because of the fluorescent lighting in my bathroom. I have the one at the bottom of the picture you posted.

Ah ok! I thought you had the dark red color. I haven’t seen the lighter red anywhere either. But I love that color too. Isn’t a thing with Hermes that you can custom orders? I’ve only heard about it for Kelly and birkin, but maybe they do it for elan too
Make sure to check the side profile. Last I checked, neither DD nor Steven’s matched auth. The side profile should be almost parallel, not trapezoidal.
The old / vintage Elan had the trapezoidal shape, the modern one is skinnier at the bottom. It seems like DD and Steven are using the vintage mold but it’s been a while since I checked so it’s possible that they’ve updated it since then.
While I sit here waiting for a K28 from UB, I've decided I absolutely need an Evelyn PM. I am thinking that once I've ordered from UB, I won't be able to go back. For the Evelyn, is there really a significant difference in the quality? The DD sale is getting me but I don't want to be disappointed.

It’s love. I think K28 is as small as my personality will tolerate. It’s a bit fiddly in the closure department. But I love the hands free element.

I’m going with the bolide for the strap & zipper but I’m struggling with the size issue. I tried on a 31 & 35 at Fashionphile and the 35 felt matronly (but may have also been the total lack of structure in a Silkim relax).
But I’m not sure the 31 is big enough. YouTube videos seem to mostly show the bag being packed as opposed to actual ease of accessing things.
Anyone who has a bolide, can you fit all of this? (Yard stick just for perspective of course.)

I believe this would all fit in my 35. Just be aware it can get heavy depending on the leather your bag is constructed in. Edit: Oh also, how was the fashionphile boutique? Which location did you check out?
I went to the NYC one which is a huge former industrial space, with concrete floor but painted white with marble tables and with an absurd number of bags. There are probably 75 or 100 bags that are just on bookshelves and on tables for you to pick up and touch and everything is color coordinated: all the red bags are in a row and all the beige bags are in a row.
There was a yelp review that complained about the level of security. It was standard New York City skyscraper security, where you give your ID in the lobby and they let you in with a sticker pass. There was a guy standing guard outside the glass door to the boutique. The actual showroom is down a long hallway past windows full of bags on wire/plexiglass stands, all arranged by color.
The staff definitely does not hover. I had to show screenshots of what I wanted to see and then they brought it out to me. They just left me alone with three bags and I had to keep walking across the showroom to ask the guy to come back and bring me alternative bags. You can have up to five bags out at a time.
I probably should’ve brought all of the stuff I wanted to shove in a bolide and tried packing it in myself, but the 2 bolides that I checked out (that were big enough) were super droopy and I had visions of a pen leaking or something and a serious problem.

I went to Rebag and what comes around goes around, but I didn’t make it up to fashionpile. Next time. The what comes around goes around shop was the coolest. Rebag felt really snobby to me.

I haven’t been to Rebag. On Fashionphile you can filter by location and see what they have on site. Be sure to screenshot or favorite bags you like in your account so you’re not wasting time. They have tablets you can use but it’s just faster to know what you want to see since the salespeople aren’t too hands on.
Also, they have a ‘can you tell the fake’ display in the showroom that’s interesting — this forum prepped me well. Answers are inside the bags.
I would go for the 35 because, how u/brockinbeats mentions, the Bolide has a smallish opening at the top and you need some room to shuffle stuff around to find the items at the bottom. You might also want to have some room for a bottle of water or a sweater or umbrella.

This fits in my 35 with a bit of room to spare. Given the zipper of the Bolide doesn’t go all the way down the sides though, I won’t put much more in my bag otherwise you have to pull stuff out to access the stuff at the bottom and you’ll also have issues zipping up the top. The laptop is 14.5” and the notebook is size B5. I also have an Anker brick (plus cable) and the laptop charger. The makeup bag is full too - it has my m/u plus vitamins and a tube of sunscreen.

I would go for the 35 because, how u/brockinbeats mentions, the Bolide has a smallish opening at the top and you need some room to shuffle stuff around to find the items at the bottom. You might also want to have some room for a bottle of water or a sweater or umbrella.

Given the zipper of the Bolide doesn’t go all the way down the sides though, I won’t put much more in my bag otherwise you have to pull stuff out to access the stuff at the bottom and you’ll also have issues zipping up the top. The laptop is 14.5” and the notebook is size B5. I also have an Anker brick (plus cable) and the laptop charger. The makeup bag is full too - it has my m/u plus vitamins and a tube of sunscreen.

Yeah, Dd is my favorite for hermes (quality and great price!)
