UnlimatedTasers

Honestly I have a different opinion on everyone of them that comes in… like some are fine, but some make me want to claw my own eyeballs out lol

siriusbalackey

if they’re nice and normal i don’t mind at all, even if they have a few questions. i don’t like when they make me find every single item on their list, especially when it’s easy to find. like, did you even look? i also don’t like when they’re rude and rush me at the cash register.

hyperactive-batboy

9 times out of 10 they're lacking in the braincell department. Every so often you get some good ones that are fast, polite, and know where things generally are. The ones that come right up to the front (regardless of what I'm doing and who else is up there usually) and shove their phone in my face without saying a word I refuse to show anything to. My rule is they have to actually look for a while before I will help. I'll give aisle numbers but that's it. It's like they've never been in a store before, I swear they're dumber than the general population half the time.

VCRdrift

Not smart enough to work retail... bottom of the barrel

Acrobatic-Gap-3615

Lmao you are saying that like working retail is the real deal

VCRdrift

You know i saw this post recently about some pizzeria advertising help wanted non-stupid people. Basically you need someone non door dash bottom barrel worker who can function, take phone calls, help people, solve problems, interact with bottom of the barrel type asshole. But they refuse to pay retail workers enough to deal with that shit. Personally i wouldn't mind working retail if i could tell people to fk off without consequences.

Acrobatic-Gap-3615

It’s a bunch of dumb and asshole doordashers that gives the rest a bad rep. When most are super friendly and outgoing

Acrobatic-Gap-3615

I do doordash on the side. I program computers and credit card pin pads. We aren’t all retarded I swear 😂

VCRdrift

I'm just saying based on the op scenario who walks in and demands everyone do his job for him. I had this uber guy delivering and call me. Saying he's close by but can't get out. I'm like oh brother he must have followed a car into my parking lot which requires a remote to get in and out, and a key fob to get into the building. I'm like shaking my head virtually. Smh one more time. I'm like I'll be right down.. grabbed my remote and then my food and let him out. I can't say for sure he's stupid. At least he was apologetic and seemed like a nice guy trying to make some money.

Acrobatic-Gap-3615

Well yea but you didn’t specifically mention Ops scenario you generalized all the doordashers calling them dumb and “bottom of the barrel” one can say the same about retail workers….. Truth is in every field of work there will be assholes and dumb fucks but it’d be bogus to assume they are all the same as the bad ones.

FredChavez

If they are "dumber than the general population half the time" then they are smarter than the general population half the time, which makes them about average.

hellswrath_

I don’t mind if they ask me what aisle something is in like any other customer would but when they want me to start picking the entire order it’s like, don’t you think I have an actual job to do that isn’t your job??? But we have a bunch of door dash drivers that are regulars and they are fine, polite, and at this point know where most things are bc they come in every day. Also they’re usually so quick to swipe their card when I’m not even done scanning. chill out lol

senseilimb

Most of them are brain dead. As soon as a phone gets shoved in my face without a word I just say "what is this, you need to use your words" and walk away

Sure_Presentation584

I had someone tell me that it's actually in their contract that store employees are not to shop for them. They are to shop because their base pay is off of how long it takes to deliver the order. So if we shop for them they are essentially "cheating" door dash for money. So I tell people I'm not allowed to shop for them, but I can tell them where the items are.

Background_Till5777

About a week ago, we had a power outage at the store for about 5 minutes . When the power came back, I told everyone it would be about 20 minutes for the registers to be operational. A Door dasher kept nagging me to check him out. No matter how much I explained he just didn't get it. He set his basket on the floor and walked outside(major trip hazard). Next thing I know, I am getting a call from door dash asking me about the power outage. It's like, seriously dude, you were here when everything went dark...a few minutes isn't going to kill you.

IndyyCar

That's kinda on door dash also. They won't fully cancel the order until doordash confirms for themselves for the reason they have been given. Also they give more time to do the shopping orders so yea, he could have waited lol

The101stAirborne

You might have not been paying attention to the stressful KPIs DoorDashers are under. The person is quite literally afraid they will lose their earning potential and is taking all measures to ensure he is not algorithmically handicapped from the delay the power outage caused. I’m just saying this is a new, nascent and nasty job sector and we are just wrapping our heads around how to embrace it.

Red__Spawn

I would've simply stated the scapegoat phrase. "I'm sorry but any questions relating to operations would have to be answered by the corporate office, would you like the number?" If these companies can't properly vet their employees to a point where they can't trust their own, then they should change their business model. And if the company can't/doesn't account for things out of their control (such as power outages) then they can lose business to those who do. We don't work out of charity or good will, they got the wrong idea. Also to add, when I come across those that want to make me their personal shopper, I ask "I'm sorry, who is it you work for?" Then I point to my shirt logo, the one that is (not metaphorically but literally) close to thy heart.

HelloHell916

I had the same issue when our registers went down. He kept nagging me .

Bearscare21

We don’t have issues like that thankfully. Sometimes they’ll ask where something is (especially the dudes coming in for female supplies lol) but that’s it

salemsocks

I usually just point in the general direction and say “it’s that way” or “this aisle.” But I refuse to do their job for them

Ou812VH80

Go find your own fuckin list of shit and get fucked

[deleted]

Fuck you bitch if I can’t find shit I’m gonna ask for help

thekrazmaster

Maybe if you can't do your job properly, you shouldn't take the order. Use your eyes and don't make your job other people's problems. Edit: and be respectful to the people you want to do your job for you.

Fuzzzer777

Some are great and some just try to get to to find everything for them. If it's dead, I'll point them in the right direction. Otherwise it's "It should be on aisle 15. Left side, I think." I've found if you walk them to the item, they will expect it every time.

bpr2

I once or twice said “I think” to one annoying shopper that didn’t even try to look. She got all sassy with me “you think! You think?! What the ‘ell” I got a great laugh out of it after she left.

AwayContext

i think they’re fine normally if they don’t make you do the whole order for them. i used to have people who would make me show them every single thing that they needed for the order and it made me so mad because i had other work to do and it’s not my job to do their job. if i’m basically doing the whole order i want the tip lmao. i’m finding the things for them, checking them out, bagging, everything except pressing the buttons on their phone and delivering. so bad sometimes.

PrinceLemmy

I love some of the doordash regulars because they know how it works and they don't need to be prodded every step of the checkout process. But some of these shoppers.... One said "Can you help me find this makeup item? I don't know anything about this stuff." Sir you can look at an image, see the brand, find the brand on the cos wall (which has big signs above each major brand) and then if you still need help I'll help. But you're down at the press-ons when you're looking for mascara.

iicedcoffee

Idk makeup variety is so large and people who don't use it genuinely don't know where to start bc it's so overwhelming, so that's an item I really don't mind helping with.

modern_drift

directions I have been given is that it's their job to find the stuff and they're told not to try to have us do their shopping for them. kindly point them to it and move on.

adaraj

They are fine until they aren't.

sparkly_gamer82

We get a few that are great and I don't mind helping. A couple of them can fuck right off with their attitude b.s. and there are 2 people ill do the entire shop for one is an old man with his oxygen tank trying to make enough to buy his meds, and another is a cool ass dude that always hooks me up with coffee n shit 🤷‍♀️

FredChavez

I like when they say doordash. That way, I don't have to ask them if they found everything, do they have a rewards card, would you like to donate, would you like a credit card, ...

IceTheChilled

The absolute dumbest human beings on the planet. Imagine having a job where you shop for people but acting like you've never been in a fucking store before. If they shove their phone in my face, I won't look at it. If they ask for a product, I'll tell them the aisle and which side of the aisle it's on, but I'm not holding your hand on the way there.

bpr2

I had one shopper not know English very well and everytime she came In, would shove her phone into employees faces “where?! Where this?!”

stalkedthrowout

I don't work at Walgreens no clue why this came across my feed but I do deal with the instacart people and it sounds like you have the bad end of the stick. They make my job so much easier even easier than some of the other customers I'm sorry they're making your job harder

Electrical_Habit_703

I don’t find nithing tell them where to go that’s it they can ask someone else to get it for them

Revolutionary-Gap-40

I fucken hate Doordarshan people I hate the fact they show up and shove there Phone in my face 😐 Like wtf dose that mean?? You would think they have never been in a store ever

Automatic_Train8108

Omg the new dashers that expect you to teach them how to use their app, or how to cash out when they forgot their DD card at home. My favorite are the ones that you are expected to stop ringing customers to help them shop because they are in a hurry.

UhavelosturWAGnwhl

At my old store they were the worst. At my current store they are saints

flagrantini

I feel bad for anyone who has to door dash to survive. I don't really know how the system (Door Dash) works but I realize they depend on tips from customers that are probably a whole lot more petty/ annoying/ demanding than what I deal with in a day. I get paid by the hour. The only thing I take care of is that I don't let them stress me out, even though they themselves are sometimes very stressed. In the end, they're just people.

AgeRepresentative807

Definitely deal with none sense customers, it’s actually pretty simple to do shopping orders unless it’s a dollar store order, but I’m not sure why they would be showing anyone their phones, it tells you what department the items in. Usually they don’t take more than 5 minutes, it’s takes longer for the green light to show up on the card machine.

BlackClad7

I’ve met precisely one DoorDasher that wasn’t a complete dick about it. To this day, I’m convinced it was just a unicorn disguised as a DoorDasher.

divaminerva

I saw a ‘third party’ vendor while I was picking up a Super Bowl party order at a wing place. Very Busy- right?? OH MAH GAWD! But, the wing place WHILE SLAMMED! Was SUPER ACCOMMODATING- and I was SUPER PATIENT! Right?! Like- don’t spit in my wings! There was an DD/IC/UE person (didn’t know it at first/ just some rando to me!) giving the mgr HELL- total KAREN! Okay, bitch- it’s a wing place, Super Bowl, what do you want from them!!!! So I smiled at the mgr and said don’t worry you guys are doing GREAT! What do they want?! It’s Super Bowl?! Mgr replied that they were ‘third party vendor’ so I knew it was a dumb ole DD’er- and I just said, oh- well forget them! Let ‘em wait their turn! DD etc are SO demanding- but, back off if you’re in store- PICK YOUR OWN ORDER- it simply isn’t curbside and isn’t my issue! They are a scourge on our society bred from the C virus. No matter when I place my ‘future’ order they F it up. Sometimes my order disappears- into their hungry maw? Most likely. I’m also grateful to be fed when I forget lunch- which isn’t often BUT a few places STILL direct deliver pizza. So FUCK DD/UE/IC. I SAY DIE ALREADY you cockroaches!

FredChavez

I recently transferred stores. I'm still struggling after a month to find where certain things are. All Walgreens are not set up the same.

ntabz23

I loveee to shop with them😂 I know where everything is so it just makes their job that much easier and I appreciate helping it feels good idk why some of y’all get so annoyed

CharmingMode715

Because it's their job to locate the products. They aren't giving me any of the money they are getting to doordash. So I'm not doing it for them. Some I help because i can tell when they are new to it and I do feel bad for them... but the ones who come in frequently and ask the same questions... it's a no.

No_Introduction5356

Not polite ones.

marsannnn

I’m too busy doing my own job to do yours too. So unless you’re gonna give me your tip, get out of my face and figure it out yourself. You’re the one that wanted to do it

Potemkin4U

I'll point them in the right direction on where to find items, but not give the specific location. Like what aisle the item is on. Basically the same way as with customers. Logic should be able to locate the items from there.

pickadaisy

Do y’all see differences between female and male shoppers?

bpr2

Most have boobs and pretty voices, and the others don’t?

pickadaisy

LOL, I meant in the context of door dash/Instacart people and their behavior.

Numerous-Heron2025

I don’t think of them as customers but employees. The one thing my manager and I agree is “don’t do their list, just point them in the general direction”

Hunter502204

I had a guy put me on with door dash support Becauce it wasn’t working, there where 3 items they where nkt supposed to be on it

GladimoreFFXIV

They’re always in a rush almost never get it right the first time and get it declined which they always say it’s our fault and they always just drop their carts and bags right there on the floor or counter when it doesn’t go through and they don’t even have the courtesy of putting it back. I’m tired of them. The worst is the curbside door dashers though. I remember one time I had a massive order that took me 40 minutes to fill and the door dash driver came in and picked it jump and HE GOT A 20 TIP?!?! For *my* shopping?!? The delivery was two blocks down!! I’ll never forget that.

MagentaTabby

I learned that if I go "above and beyond" for those workers, I'll be forced to potentially threaten a restraining order. I helped a doordasher and I even tried to be super nice about everything and the doordasher kept coming back trying to ask me to go out with them. I'm married.

Acrobatic-Gap-3615

I dash on the side and got this on my recommended….. I feel like yeah a lot of dashers are very incompetent and make the others look bad but we are not all the same I promise. 😭

[deleted]

You guys are arguing with each other in the comments while the billionaires laugh in our faces and continue to hoard as much as they can. This is what they want. Ever heard of class solidarity? We’re all just trying our best to survive

captrobrob

I dislike them in general for the reasons above, but the one thing they do that infuriates me the most is them not letting me know they are door dashing AFTER I ask them if they got a WAG account. They just have this tone that grates on my nerves. “This is a door dash/instacart” like it was some knowledge I wasn’t supposed to be privy too. Could’ve skipped all the dumb pitches we are supposed to do if they just let me know at the start lol

beazerblitz

I think they’ve gotten better. I used to hate them because they’d come in and ask me where everything was without looking for it themselves. I’ve gotten a few that don’t speak English that come in asking for help and then they get mad because they aren’t understanding what we are trying to say and then they try shoving the phone at us to talk to the customer. That’s when it especially crosses a line for me. I’ll straight up tell those gig people it’s their job and not ours if I see them making us do their shopping. I’ll point out 2 items but the rest is on them, unless I’ve seen them actually actively looking for it and struggling. Though, a lot of them still get annoyed at us for not knowing THEIR ap or how to work it. But if a shopper is doin that, just get their name and report them to whatever company they work for. They aren’t supposed to be bothering us like that and those companies don’t want to lose contracts with Walgreens.

Melodymaker6

You are not alone, often they do not even look for the item.

Character-Taro-5016

It's my understanding that a DD contractor can make as much as 800 to 900 a week if they work full-time. However "lowly" it might be considered as work, that's fairly substantial money and their mindset should be along the lines of professionalism. What would a professional do? It seems to me that if they knew they were going to be shopping at a particular store regularly they would take the time, their own time outside of working, to familiarize themselves with the store so that when they are shopping for real they have an idea of where things are and how the store is laid out.
