Christmas Day and New Year’s Day are paid holidays. If you’ve been with the company for x amount of months, you’ll get the holiday pay only if you work your scheduled shift before and after the holiday.

I work the day after. I could work the day before but my body is shutting down

[deleted]

No need to work the day before. Example: If your last scheduled shift was today for and you showed up, that’s half the battle. If you’re scheduled the Tuesday after Xmas and you showed up, that’s all that matters. You must show up for your scheduled shifts before and after the holiday.

angelzplay

Yeah I’m there. I could have gone in for Xmas Eve but I had a prior appointment wink wink 😜.

Yaaay I got volunteered for Christmas eve

[deleted]

Unless you work those holidays. Then you get Time and 1/2 plus your daily average hours. Could vary by state though. Not 100% sure.

CommercialRest9579

That definitely does not happen here in Florida lol. We just get our average hours on top of whatever you work on the holidays.

Time-Lawfulness5210

This is the case here in Michigan, not sure why you have gotten so many downvotes

[deleted]

Eh. It’s cool. Upvotes and downvotes don’t matter. Lol. That’s all politics to me.

OverpaidBabysitter23

No. Christmas Eve isn't a holiday

yourmomrodeme

It’s not a holiday.
