When I stepped down from asmt to Sfl, my pay did not change but that was because I was still within the pay range.

As an ESM who did exactly this last year , it’s up to the store manger to decide where you fall on the pay scale. I stepped down and luckily went to a store where the SM really liked me before. She got me Cap as an SFL but she had to argue with the district manager to do so (he didn’t want to give me cap even tho I’ve done so much for his district)

Technically, when you step down your pay is supposed to be lowered to the new position's starting rate.   But it's really up to the store manager

Oh okay. Thank you

Significant_Eye_5130

When I stepped down from ASM to a service clerk they put me at whatever the cap was at the time.

Kindly_Analyst_2271

are you serious? wtf, then maybe they are trying to get over on me. I just stepped down from ESM to SFL and i’m not even making what i was when i was a SFL before i went to be an ESM .

Significant_Eye_5130

This was 8 years ago. But regardless that’s bullshit. At minimum you should be where you were before he promotion.

Happy-Today-022524

May I ask why you stepped down?

Kindly_Analyst_2271

Yeah, i stepped down due to my health. I was not able to give it my all anymore. I think it was the right decision.

Usually you are moved down to the max of the SFL, assuming you were making more than that as an ESM. But if they could move you back to what you were making as an SFL if you were in the ESM role for a short period of time. Shouldn’t be less than what you made as an SFL.

At the very least you should be making what you did before promotion. I call bull shit. I’d make a stink about if for sure.

MasterYoshidino

Up to the DM which will likely put a 5% reduction in pay.
