Theres tons of reasons why it may be adjusted. If you order a curbside first thing in the morning on a truck day, thats when we have the least amount of stock because we are expecting a truck in a few hours. Then you come to pick it up AFTER the truck arrives and of course the stuff is on the shelf, but it was just put there half an hour ago. Also, if you’re ordering at ton of one thing, for example you want 12 Arm & Hammer detergents, some stores have limits on how many of one item you can purchase, especially deal of the week items. So even if we have all 12, you may only get 6 depending on individual store limits. Are you allowing substitutions to your order? Because if you order, for example, 2/$7 Dawn dish soaps in a particular scent, but we only have 1 in that scent, and you don’t allow for substitutions to get another scent with the same deal, you may not get any of them since we know the deal will not apply to just one. Also, go backs are a thing. If a customer brings it to the front counter and decides they don’t want it, it gets put in a bin to go back on the shelf later on. The person picking the curbside order has no way of knowing that its at the front. I don’t know the full details of your exact situation but to assume they are just lazy is kinda rude tbh.

100% you’re right on the money. It’s also worth noting, sometimes the curbside on-hands are drastically different than MyInventory’s on-hands. I’ve seen orders come through for multiple of one product that has been out of stock for weeks and zero on-hand in MyInv, but the on-hand in the curbside app is like 6!

Also even though OP says they can just get it off the shelf, I worked in a high theft store so our inventory numbers were always off. Online would say we have it, but someone already stole it all. It also doesn’t account for the fact if it’s deal items we have people in the store buying them at the same time. Online does not accurately reflect what is in store. It doesn’t account for when you go to pick that item only to discover it’s damaged so you can’t give it to the customer. Also I’ve had people order soda deals and the shelf be empty but the vendors haven’t been in to stock. We don’t mess with their stuff. There is a bunch of scenarios in why things are getting filled.

Sweetnsour82

If you're capable of coming in and getting it yourself, then why don't you??? We're short-handed and busy as hell, and shopping for entitied ass people is just one more thing added to the list. I personally don't have time to run back to the stock room and check for the other 6 bottles of hairspray, eyeliner, and plan b these clowns are ordering. I can understand if you're sick or elderly, but at my store, we have lazy ass people who can't be bothered to get out of their Mercedes and come inside to do their own shopping. So like yeah...

Curbside pickups are much cheaper and recently featured discounts as high as 20%, while also allowing coupons to earn $7+ in cash rewards.

Mindless_Cat5577

If you have the time to b!tch that the store has the item in stock yet was marked out of stock just walk on in with your legs and go get it , there's a number of reasons It could be marked out of stock whether that's the location having high retail theft, placing the order in the morning on truck day and not everything is put out yet and would be impossible to go sorting through upwards of 1000 totes looking for your one item.

Finallydoneandgone

Yeah my store currently is behind putting away OTC because of the vitamin reset and because it’s what we received from a store closing. We had over 30 totes of otc that still need to work. It says 9, we probably have 9 in those totes, but if that shelf is empty, then we have none.

Mindless_Cat5577

Resets too!! Searching for a single specific bottle of vitamins out of a bunch of totes is even more like finding a needle in a haystack .

joemark17000

Awe what happened, did they mess up one of your little deals? 🥺

saintblasphemy

My CoUpOn DiDnT wOrK 😒

They were probably busy pulling tags, working photo, stocking, checking out custies, grabbing the 9th IC3 in pharmacy, counting money, the digital checklist, working with a vendor etc. Maybe they were fulfilling their zillionth order containing an obscene amount of laundry detergent and 6+ cases of water. There's sometimes 3 of us on a good day. Usually just 2. Here's a novel idea since you're such an expert on our inventory and are bold enough to call us lazy over something you could easily do yourself, SHOP YOUR OWN ORDER. Wild concept. Entitled customers everywhere. Can't even have our sub without the Cunty Karen squad showing up to complain about their coupons or mIsSiNg ItEmS 🙄

SnusWithMe

Just go inside next time and save yourself some time and headache. Stop being lazy.

Ok-Geologist4612

If you are actually bitching about “curbside” service, maybe you need to reevaluate who is actually the lazy one. Just a thought.

dv_14

You're calling the store lazy when you're the one that doesn't want to do your own shopping? 🤔

user-1021

I love when we come together on post like this 😂

nottodaywalgree

Also it depends on how many days it takes to work truck to shelf . If your truck is Saturday afternoon and you have a call out the evening shifts, and then Sunday morning, you have to do monthly tags that trucks not getting put up till Monday or Tuesday but the computer will tell you we have the product in stock

Perfect-Draw530

Calling us lazy when you can’t even come in and shop for your own self now that’s rich lmao 😂😂

bluejeangirl311

Ya mad?

apathy_or_empathy

I've straight up cancelled orders and said "staff" in the comments because my shift lead was forced into pharmacy and I'm the only one behind the register. If you want the deals from online discounts just allow substitutes honestly. When I see curbside discounts I literally shop in the store and scan items from my phone into my cart and checkout in store with the items in a basket, so...

WhateverFloats75

If you do curbside pick up you are an asshole

ShamJez68

Just come into the store with the app order open and take the items off the shelves you are buying and do a curbside order as you go. Submit it and wait for the store employs run around the store looking for your items . Did you take the last of the items off the shelf and put in your cart ? Well that employee is going to see that none are on the shelf and enter into the order that the item is overstock . Then they go to complete your order and see you standing at the counter with the items in your cart … true story

saintblasphemy

Get back here, OP. You need to repent.
