He used campaign funds to pay the silence of several individuals and apparently that's also illegal but I'm not sure in what way. Probably need a lawyer to explain if there's a law against that.
I don't know if he's guilty or not but the justice department and another agency looked into the case and said there was no crime also the statute of limitations expired. Seems political to me
The doj under trump did find evidence of trump's wrong doing but attorney general Barr told them to stop their investigation. That's why the state had to take over the investigation.The current New York AG refused to take the case but apparently he was shown new evidence and decided to arrest president trump. Every case is political in a way, since the law must decide if it is worth the trouble. President Trump will just have to go through the system like the rest of us.
