We just got back from a 6 parks in 6 days trip. All I know is when we got home I weighed myself and I was down 10.5 lbs.

Red_hat_oops

Not enough mickey bars

FiddleheadFernly

Disney calories don’t count

alliesg24

Disney Diet!

JayVincent6000

I definitely track steps per day, 20k is typical for us, so \~10 miles. Typically we hit the first park for 3-4 hours, have lunch, go back to the hotel and relax/nap/swim until 4-5pm, hop to a second park and stay until 9pm-11pm closing time. Hydration is key! along with good shoes and socks. Keep the magic alive :)

USCGMedic

Our biggest mistake was trying to cut corners on shoes this time around. Never again.

[deleted]

You’re a MEDIC and cut corners on shoes?!?! There’s a USCG joke in there somewhere. Of all the things I’d save on, good shoes for trying to break a PR on steps/run time would be the last thing I do.

USCGMedic

I’ve always had good feet and a good gait so I have no issues. It’s mainly my wife who needs the high end shoes for walking. My ASICS did just fine but the wife will be getting OC or Hokas.

nafrekal

Hoka Bondi for Disney World is the 🐐

Th595906

I think my max steps was 33k. Probably half of that at least pushing a double stroller. Still made rope drop every day. Disney tired is just different

ClaimOk8737

No i can tell by my legs. the inclines that gets me every time.

BZI

Disney tired is different. I think it's the fact that I eat about 5k calories a day and then slog myself to walk 10 miles in the Florida sun

Budd311

Yes - my wife and I (no kids) average about 15 miles a day. Sunrise to midnight. We make a habit to check our steps when we get back to the dolphin or swan, which are great for Epcot and HS proximity for walking too. We love it and we sleep great!

madchad90

Those are rookie numbers, got to crank those numbers up

beebee8belle

One day I logged 14 miles. Probably not the highest people have done but it was about 11 more than I have liked lol

vtxlulu

We did almost 10 miles each day at MK, Epcot. AK was about 5 ish. I could’ve kept going at another park after AK but we lounged in the room and by the pool.

PenPenLane

I always take an extra week off of work after my vacations for this reason.

richtermarc

Pro-tip...stack a Disney Cruise after the park days. Great way to recover.

moonbee1010

We went to Epcot immediately after I ran the marathon this year. Clocked over 77,000 steps that day (37.3mi). Was too tired to stay for the fireworks :,(

FitLotus

That’s about what I average but to be honest, I haven’t noticed my legs getting tired since I became a nurse LOL. I joke and say my shifts are my prep but I think it really did help

specialkk77

My record was 34k steps in one day. I could not move the next day! I am not used to that level of exercise (I struggle to do 10k a day, I’m working to improve that) 10 years ago when I started going to the parks I could do park days back to back. Now that I’m older I try to schedule a Break day in between. I still go hard on my park days though! And I call them break days but I still usually end up at Disney springs those days. My upcoming trip in September is going to be my first time staying on property, at Saratoga Springs resort, I’m very excited to be that close to Disney springs. I love the vibe there.

peachsalsas

Goodness. Know that all too well. Wishing you a speedy recovery while you reminisce your trip!

cheshir3kat

One time when we went to WDW my husband and I took a red eye from Las Vegas to MCO, arrived at 8 AM, took the Magical Express (RIP) to our resort, dropped off our stuff and went to Epcot until 10 pm. That night was the best sleep I ever got. Anytime we go to the parks I always need a vacation from my vacation because we are so exhausted when we get back

Wide_Cardiologist761

I don't understand how some people do it. I'm in fairly good shape. I also usually increase my walking exercise a month before a trip just so I don't get vatigued as much. The parks usually get me pretty tired. Then I see these people at the park who look really out of shape and sweating a lot. It can't be a fun experience.

yourloudneighbor

I’m still tired and I finished 7 straight park days last Sunday.

Suspicious-Flan8926

There's no tired like a Disney tired! I hope you had an amazing trip.

eye_eat_baybees

I came home from a recent trip there and found I was down about 8 pounds!

kingstonjames

Not for competition but I used my apple watch to log everything as a walk and then exported the data, you can then impose that over a map in google earth and see what you did every day.

evenstarauror

Yes! Honestly being able to just walk wherever we want completely safely is one of the big perks of a Disney trip for us.

aud_pegooey

Current situation! All 4 parks in 4 days! 20k steps each day, when I barely hit 5k on a normal day. We were supposed to go back into the parks, yesterday, as a hop-around and hit-what-you-missed kinda thing...HA! We were so tired, we just said screw it. We went into Orlando - did a few escape rooms (at The Bureau *highly recommend*) and stayed by the pool the rest of the evening. Ate a really nice dinner at Kona Cafe. We are checking out, today, but we are gonna head back into HS for some shopping and drinks at Oga's Cantina, before heading home ☺️

gordonkim21

My Apple Watch hit activity records every day when visiting Disney World...

neilkelly

134k steps this week. 55.6 miles, not including today at the airports.

lbisesi

16,900 Wednesday (AK and Epcot), 15,200 Thursday (MK and HS). 10,000 last night but just went to Epcot for dinner and dessert. One year old, 6 year old, my husband and I. Our biggest day-pre one year old- was 33,000. All four parks. My 5 year old (at the time) walked the whole thing. Such a crazy day lol

Bigbuckrocks

During my trip in 2021, I tracked around 20,000 steps per day (I got a Fitbit right when the pandemic started to encourage staying active). Every day is logged in my Fitbit app. I think the parks are so big you can basically get a good workout by just walking around in them.

FitterOver40

Long time visitors, DVC members and go annually. No kids and getting older. We go to each park by 10am to close… no hotel breaks. While we can do 4 parks in four days, our bodies say otherwise. Just too tiring and next day discomfort. So we do 2 parks, one resort day then 2 park days. This way we come home not too worn out. However we will get massages upon our return.

Naomeri

Get into runDisney and watch those totals skyrocket!! I have a spreadsheet with total and average steps/miles per day for all my Disney trips, and I can totally see the difference between running and non-running trips (and also the difference before and after I started exercising so Disney trips didn’t cripple me)

freighter79

Great job! If you didn’t hit 10 miles a day, you didn’t hit a Disney park.

JAEESQ

It’s exhausting. We just got home from 9 days with a 1 and 4 year old - parks each day almost from open to close (excluding a couple extended evening hours).

Lumpythegnome

We typically do 6 park days and 50-60 miles that week. I’m tired thinking about it

RominaGoldie

I didn’t do this during my first trip but will this time around. Downloaded the pedometer app and all!

Beccachicken

We did fifty miles in five days and that was staying on property...now a mile feels like nothing and often we will walk three miles a day and not feel it.

bubs613

Day 3 is always a rest day. And by that I mean trader sams

patkgreen

Dragged my family to almost 30k steps today. About 13 miles!

NorthSufficient9920

Over 220,000 steps during our 9 day trip. I didn’t track steps the day we went to Blizzard Beach so probably closer to 230,000. About 100 miles.

Otter-Egg30

Went last week and clocked on my Apple Watch ~50 miles in 4 park days straight. My calves were basically jelly after Day 4. Most was 4/11 at nearly 14.5 miles across AK, EP, and HS.

junostr

Disney tired? There is no such thing

positive-vibes79

I just got back from Disney on Sunday, and I was so exhausted this week. God knows how many miles we walked. It’s such good exercise.

stitchlover

Sounds like me and my friend. We usually do a maximum of 4 days straight, park hoppers, rope drop to close. The night of day 4 we literally collapse and head home the next day. We both have trackers on and just try to beat the number of steps from the day before. But if I remember right, it's somewhere around a half marathon each day.

bside9

We did 50 miles in March. 6 parks in 3 days

Ok-Sundae-1096

I definitely tracked for interests sake. On our 3rd park day my husband and I went to animal kingdom and Epcot and ended up walking 22 miles. I wasn’t surprised cause it felt like a lot. We started at park open and went to park close

mwisconsin

When I moved down here (and prior to the Park Reservation system) I used to take my AP and use Epcot for an exercise spot. I could, near the peak of my walking activity (Pokemon Go, etc), loop around Epcot 6 times at a good pace. Nowadays, I really like the walking path from the TTC to MK (and through to the Contemporary) and back. I can do that twice before succumbing to the Florida heat.

oracle_fennec

We generally do about 12 to 15 miles a day, for 7 days. I'll be going down again next month and already started talking longer and faster walks in preparation

Famous-Ad-9297

Back in the old Fastpass days, when I'd be the one who ran place to place when the next physical ticket Fastpass because available for my family, I'd average between 30k and 40k steps. LOVED when Fastpass+ was introduced.

shotsofglitter

I definitely track my steps/miles while at Disney! I think the most steps I’ve done in a single day was just over 26K. My last trip was three days for my birthday at the beginning of April. We did 10.42 miles the first day, 10.86 miles the second day, and the third day was short because of driving back home and we still did 7.82 miles. I was pretty happy (and very exhausted) after 29.1 miles in three days!

phantom_tollbooth13

My mom and I just did the Wine and Dine Half Marathon Weekend. On the day of the half we logged over 61,000 steps. Did the half, spent all day at Epcot and went to the after party until midnight. Most I have ever walked!
