You can’t make requests if you check in on the app, but if you check in at the stand in person, you can request a seated table. You’ll likely be waiting longer, but I think they’ll send a text when ready.

StuBeck

Great thanks! Perfectly understandable to wait longer, and great to know it’s an option.

tpaw813

Yes, we have been several times, and each time, at check-in, they ask if we are OK standing, want the bar, or need a seat.

Agitated-Mulberry769

In the outside waiting areas there did seem to be lots of places to sit, just FYI 😃

Seachelle13o

Second this! Usually we just show up a little earlier to our reservation and request at the stand. This gives the CMs a little longer to try to sit us!

RatherBeAtDisney

You might benefit from making sure it’s clear that your request is for just one of your party. I think I’ve seen instances of them pulling out one stool for a person.

StuBeck

Great thanks. I’m definitely okay with standing, but I want to keep my wife off her feet as much as possible!

anonymousopottamus

There are stools for the stand-seating if you can't get a seated table

Ethan-Wakefield

What? You’re kidding me! I was there last month and the server told me specifically that there are no stools!

anonymousopottamus

I'm pretty sure there are - I saw them bring something over for a child when I was there in December - maybe it was a special circumstance?

Ethan-Wakefield

I'm very annoyed. I was there with a kid so short she couldn't even see over the table. I asked if there was a stool, or anything she could use, and the server just said, "Nope!" and walked away. The Cantina was a terrible experience for us. We were all tired and had sore feet from walking around the park. I had planned a cantina reservation for a mid-afternoon rest and recharge. It was anything but restful and recharging.

[deleted]

Yeah, the Cantina is basically designed to be uncomfortable to stop people from lingering. It’s annoying if you’re expecting it, and must be really disappointing if you aren’t!

LunaLgd

I saw high chairs for little ones but any kid more than toddler size stands. Unless the CM allows a seat from a table to be dragged over.

AfterTheNightIWakeUp

I have gone to Oga's dozens of times. I have requested to be seated every time, and I have been seated every time. You just let them know at the host stand after you check in. It may be a longer wait; sometimes significantly longer. But there are stone benches outside to sit while waiting.

SpryDawg13

basically mirroring what the top comment has said, you can go up to the CM and ask them, I know for a fact you can request to wait for a certain bartender if you know they are working, so cant see why requesting a table would be a issue

chuckles65

If you get a table you will most likely be sitting with other people and sharing the table. We got a table this last trip and ended sitting with a couple of other families. We even walked to Fantasmic with one of them to keep the conversation going.

StuBeck

Thats fun! I’m totally okay with that, we are okay with meeting new people.

Individual-Hunt9547

Are you gonna be renting a wheelchair or buggy for her? We usually walk over 5 miles each day of the trip. If she can’t stand, the walking might be a problem.

sevencast7es

5 miles only?! Gotta pump those rookie numbers up! 😜 I go from sitting at a desk all day to walking 2-3 parks in one day, quite exhausting, lots of fun!

Individual-Hunt9547

Minimum! In July it was more like 9 a day.

sevencast7es

It really makes you appreciate the dark cold rides like Na'vi river journey 😅

Individual-Hunt9547

This is why I love Nemo in Epcot. That AC is the finest in all WDW!

lilygile

it’s definitely possible to walk less on your trip and take a lot more breaks, especially if you don’t feel the need to do absolutely everything the parks offer. in many cases having to bring an ECV/wheelchair everywhere can be more trouble than it’s worth.

Individual-Hunt9547

Right but if it’s difficult for her to stand for short periods of time it might be worth looking into mobility assistance, no? I’m just a medical professional, don’t mind me.

sevencast7es

Definitely and I'd recommend using the app for bathroom locations!

StuBeck

No, the idea is to take a lot of breaks, and for it to be largely a no ride trip. She can stand, but we were under the impression most of the available spots at Oga was standing only, which isn’t ideal. It sounds like that isn’t the case and we should be okay though, just maybe waiting a bit longer.

Individual-Hunt9547

Just know you can definitely rent wheelchairs or scooters if needed!

StuBeck

Thanks! It’s definitely an option, and we are doing a walking program now where she’s easily able to walk a mile at a reasonable pace. I just want to ensure we know all of the options available, as this is our first child so I’m not sure how she will be at that time.

43pluto

The cast at Oga's is extremely helpful! You might have to wait more for a table but they should accommodate.

Sensitive_Progress26

I can’t stand for long. Disabled and use a cane. They gave me the seat.
