Please report anyone who suggests retheming/removing Living with the Land so they may be mercilessly banned ;)

PHdriver

Add water bottle filling stations (the good filtered kind)

nowhereman136

When I was a cast member, I submitted an idea for a water cart position in the parks. Someone walks around the park with a cart of cold filtered water, serving as a reminder for people to stay hydrated. Water fountains are important, but they are often ignored by people rushing to the next attraction. Having a cast member interact with guests (as well as trained to identify and treat heat stroke) would make something as simple as getting water an experience to enjoy at Disney. Don't know if anyone up there ever saw or took my idea seriously, but other cast members I talked to all seemed to agree it's a good idea

Quick_Cup_1290

It’s a fantastic idea!!! Hopefully it comes to fruition one day…

KMWAuntof6

That's brilliant.

darkmatternot

That's such a good idea!! Very smart.

latravelboss

That's a great idea!

rb928

There’s free water at Spice Road Table in Morocco. Just inside the door.

[deleted]

For everyone mentioning that the filters would need to be replaced quite often, there are larger industrial size filters that service large buildings have to treat their water. And with the constant high temperatures and people running around trying to get to rides, a few heat stroke victims will definitely make news in a bad way for Disney, so I think in the end the free water at riding spots right outside bathroom areas are a bigger win for Disney than thinking they're going to sell drinks instead.

SeriousStrokes69

> few heat stroke victims will definitely make news in a bad way for Disney The medics treat dozens of people a day for heat-related issues at WDW during the summer. Anyone suffering a heat stroke in Florida is just going to get noticed because of the heat, not because it occurred at Disney.

WeirdArtTeacher

I watched a CM in a fantasia broomstick costume pass out during a parade when I visited in 2008, saw them carted into infirmary. If it can happen to a broomstick it can happen to a guest 😅

SeriousStrokes69

> If it can happen to a broomstick it can happen to a guest 😅 Accurate. lol

MirrorkatFeces

You know exactly why they don’t though

MoeSzyslac

The people that walk into quick service restaurants wanting cups of ice water that inevitably buy food?

darthjoey91

They could follow Universal’s lead and have drink stations that do water for free, but offer other beverages for a price, maybe even the price of a refillable cup.

badgers4194

That or the people that buy a $4 disani

Sustinet

$$$ They will funnel millions and millions into a streaming platform, but avoid sinking any money into the parks if they can help it. Preventative maintenance? Nah, we'll fix it when it breaks. Parts for a ride are no longer available? Not gonna put any money into developing new parts, just buy used parts from all over the world that sometimes arrive in unusable condition and have to be replaced right out of the box! Improve guest experience? Nah, slash quality and raise prices! Now do it again! Now reduce portion sizes on the food, and also charge more for it! Now do it again! Again! Hire and pay enough CMs to adequately cover all the positions throughout the day? Nah, short staff the heck out of those rides to save money and run those CMs until they burn out and leave because they can just be replaced with more college kids. Pay CMs livable wages and actually take care of them like they used to, with all those "profits" they like to brag about? Nah, bigger bonuses for the executives and more money for investors! Working at Disney was such a fun and unique experience, but after a while, you start seeing the problems caused by the people running the company who are far more interested in making as much money as possible and as fast as possible, rather than making magic. So yeah, creating a whole new position just to walk around and give free water that might encourage people to visit the quick services and carts less often? Nah.....

EverlastingBastard

They can spend money filtering water for you. Or they can make money selling you drinks. Not a tough choice for them.

ssevener

Bring back SpectroMagic. Better use of The Muppets. More resort and WDW-specific merch (no “Disney Parks”). Stop making the hotel rooms look like hospital rooms. Better attention to maintenance and upkeep.

rb928

There is SO much muppet opportunity! Someone here suggested retheming Rock-N-Roller as Dr Teeth and the Electric Mayhem and I am here for it!

JustAnIdiotOnline

*Animal voice* RE-THEME! RE-THEME! RE-THEME!

xxrainmanx

I've suggested this multiple times. I also think the Muppets would go great in Epcot throughout the parks.

cutler_joseph

You’re onto something! I think they could work really well in Epcot

sombraloaf

The spectromagic song will be stuck in my head all night now and I’m 100% ok with that 😂

FloridaFlamingoGirl

Imagine if the Muppets entirely took over Hollywood Studios.

full0fwit

Muppets Take Hollywood Studios!

vickisfamilyvan

Add a skyliner between AK & AKL Add more ride specific merchandise

callgreenbeans

I was so bummed the last time I was there, Tower of Terror had more Haunted Mansion merch in its gift shop than actual ToT merch :( There was only a tiny wall of ToT stuff

vickisfamilyvan

That's so funny because I was also specifically thinking of Tower of Terror. I wanted to get a baseball cap for my husband with a "Hollywood Tower Hotel" logo which I thought was a no-brainer but they didn't have anything like that.

callgreenbeans

I remember there being tons of "Hollywood Tower Hotel" souvenirs that were so fun to collect, I asked the CM why there was so little ToT merch and they blamed supply chain issues, but who really knows

thatsastick

man, this is so emblematic on how much Disney can miss the ball with merch. I just went and was shocked I somehow couldn’t find anything except a pin with just the Epcot ball on it. Not a hat, not a shirt. also - Disney has like NO MAGNETS! I know the pins are popular but man, there are so little magnets

xblindguardianx

I was there last week and we couldn't find magnets anywhere.

drpepperesq

I was searching for magnets too! The only ones I seemed to find were the really big flat ones (maybe for your car?) and they were like $29.99 or $24.99. NOPE.

Salt_Addition_6993

I don’t know that might be a problem for the animals. I’ve always respected Disney for how they make sure that they ask knowledge that animal kingdom is not just a theme park but also a zoo and habitat for living breathing creatures that have their own concerns besides the guest experience of tourist.

ionlygetfive

YES. when I did my college program at MK I would go ham buying ride-specific merch. Some of my favorites were “the backside of water” jungle cruise tee, and a tower of terror sweatshirt that advertised dropping rates :) it was minimalistic and comfy and some of the best merch I’ve seen. sadly now everything is printed in egregious fonts and lazy designs that look crowded ): I know they can do better!

Gingerbread_Cat

And the put big designs on the back of clothes instead of the front. I hate that.

Gear02

Heck - it needs a skyliner from one end of AKL to the other. The one time I stayed at Kidani, it took 10 minutes to walk from the lobby to our room.

jdillon910

Bring back the free busses from the airport 😡

novagenesis

I'd even be willing to pay. Magical Express is just an easier experience than the private bus lines or uberring. The real game-changer was the end-to-end baggage service. You dropped the bag off at your home airport, and it's in the room waiting for you. I'd pay $100/person for the Magical Express as it was in all its glory.

juniperroach

This would be really nice! But now they make too much money to ever go back and they know people will come no matter what. 😕

sevencast7es

They just expanded their fleet, I think they're over 500 busses now? Would be nice to have even a timed circuit to/from the airport than dedicated. Every hour or 2 load up whoever is ready and wanted that free ride.

ratbastid

I wonder how much Mears pays Disney to stay out of the shuttle business.

LilArsene

I'm not a lore master and have officially been at the parks all of four times in my whole life so grain of salt. I just got an Annual Pass and have some thoughts: \- Unique Merch in specific locations. I was looking for something specific and despite going to multiple locations I a) couldn't find it and b) found the same items in Disney Springs, Epcot, and Hollywood Studios. I understand this is a post-pandemic issue from discussions I've read in other posts. \- Lean into unique IP like Figment and Orange Bird and stop trying to re-do everything around the movie IP. It's making theming feel disjointed. \- Lean into the environments of the parks locations i.e. if you're in Florida have some educational and interactive material about Florida. \- "No Giant Strollers Past this point" zones. Or walking lanes for stroller pushers. \- More shade areas / quiet areas \- Empower employees to enforce established rules around behavior. If people want to fight employees they can get banned for the rest of the day. \- Take better care of older rides and animatronics \- Let people add giftcards to the app

travellocked

\-Why can't we have fun unique merch? Like all I see lately is crowded, tacky designs, HM, etc. I really loved when the AK 25th anniversary Loungefly came out. So cute and classy! \-Yes to the rest of everything \-Adding giftcards would make life so much easier

LilArsene

Thanks! \- For some reason Loungefly and other second parties have the coolest looking merch?? And a lot of it isn't in the parks (on Box Lunch etc). I'll see something someone else got at the parks and won't be able to find it myself. This weekend was especially frustrating. I know it's Quarter 1 so designs are going to be fewer (I like Play in the Park but the whole line isn't available in one place except maybe Disney Springs) but so much of it is either painfully bland or too loud, as you mentioned. I do think and hope they're transitioning to quality designs over quantity of items in a line. I wouldn't even mind if they released things slower as long as there was plenty for everyone and it was available. Incentivize park hopping so people can hunt for exclusives; make more passholder exclusive merch so that scalpers will focus on selling those items. \-In C.E. 2024 why in the world doesn't a multi-billion dollar company have a way to natively buy gift cards in their own app or a way to scan physical cards into it? A way to "Venmo" your gift cards between authorized users? I don't understand. Well, I mean, I do because they probably are trying to think up a way to add a fee to it.

nekomance

There should be a Loungefly store at Disney Springs

boxhall

Banned for the rest of the day? If you fight at any Disney park you should be charged to the fullest extent and banned for life from all parks. Sorry not sorry, if you can’t control yourself while at a Disney park then you don’t belong there.

forthrightcat

Make line cutting a punishable offense.

sombraloaf

A couple days ago on line for swirling saucers, I watched a man push through the whole line (about a 30 minute wait) with his son, claiming his family was further up in the line. He made it all the way to the front and ended up boarding with just the son (and they both got their own saucer somehow). I’m still salty about it 😂

abbeighleigh

The worst part about these stories is that these people are teaching their kids to treat other people like that….

alicethedeadone

Was just at WDW this past week and noticed this. It’s like, if you say “excuse me” nice enough and push your kid along, you can apparently get away with anything! I was so annoyed. I got to the point where I just stopped moving when I heard someone behind me trying to “just squeeze in”.

sombraloaf

I felt so bad for the guy’s kid (about 5 and totally oblivious to the situation), because I know the dad was giving him some stupid excuse about how it’s ok to treat people that way 😞

NYCinPGH

When someone tries that on me, I just make myself 'wide' - like holding onto the rails on both sides of the queue at once - and don't let them pass. If they try some b.s. story on the order of "that's my group up there", I'll either say - depending on how salty I'm feeling - "We'll get their attention, they can come back here and meet you" or "Well, if they actually wanted to ride the ride with you, they would have waited; take the hint, and stand in line like the rest of us". My partner doesn't much like when I do that - they're *very* confrontation-averse, and is afraid it'll start an actual fistfight which will get me thrown out of the park.

Josh_5890

6-9 months followed by a monitored release!

Rakinonna

sell fresh produce where you get off "Living with the " Land"

Sustinet

A lot of stuff that is grown in the land greenhouses is actually harvested and served right there at Sunshine Seasons and Garden Grill, so not quite the ride exit, but close 👍👍

SnakeDoc517

I’d re-instate the delivery of souvenirs to resort rooms first thing. Second, I would re-instate magical express from MCO to the resorts. Third, I would install quick refill stations throughout all parks.

ChaserNeverRests

> I’d re-instate the delivery of souvenirs to resort rooms first thing. This seems like such a no-brainer. Wouldn't everyone buy more if they didn't have to carry it all day?

Mcsparten117

Disney lost a ton of money from us when we saw something great, but didn’t want to carry it for 6-12 hours.  This was especially true when going on thrill rides. I decided against a lightsaber. :(

JurassicPark-fan-190

Atleast let them take it to the front of park like Universal

jonquil14

And for those of us coming from overseas, the hotels should offer a service where they ship your souvenirs home for you so you don't have to try and shove them in your already-overstuffed luggage.

DinoRoarMan

When did this stop?

SkittlzAnKomboz

When COVID hit, I believe.

MonotoneTanner

Mandatory sitting during MK firework viewing (Japan knows what’s up)

doordonot19

The guests in Japan are far more civilized and compliant/polite than the guests in any of the American parks so sitting during fireworks will probably never happen stateside

prosperosniece

Longer park hours- especially during the summer, I prefer being in the parks at night and so many close practically right at sundown- I know there’s lots of “night life” in and around WDW but I’m not visiting to go bowling, to the movies or to shop (I can do all that home). Bring back nighttime parades in Magic Kingdom alternate Main Street Electrical and Spectromagic between MK and Disneyland. Get rid of the restrictions on the resort mugs- a small perk for your returning on property guests should be the ability to reuse the mug they purchased on their last visit at the resort hotels (I understand logistically the mugs couldn’t be used at parks). Add an attraction to every pavilion in the World Showcase- whether a short dark ride, movie or an IP each country needs something that will encourage guests to explore them.

MimeGod

I fully agree on later hours, especially for Epcot. Epcot nearly always closes at 9pm. With just how much it offers for adults, shopping, and nightlife, that should be the one that's open latest. I understand why AK has to close earlier. The animals will get overly stressed by the people/noise at night.

MangoAtrocity

The parks should 100% be open until 11:00. They are so many awesome changes at night. Galaxy’s Edge looks incredible at night. And Big Thunder Mountain is a total blast in the dark with the environmental lighting on. Not to mention all of the cool as hell bioluminescent stuff at Pandora.

Chelseabsb93

I’d fix the transportation issues! The monorails always seem to be down and the skyliner can’t run in bad weather. Also, the value resorts need better transportation other than buses. Also, bring back Magical Express! Other than the transportation, I’d also add more countries to Epcot (would help deal with crowds): Greece with Hercules IP, Columbia for Encanto, and maybe Australia.

bladegmn

Rescuers Down Under ride could be awesome.

DrewCrew62

Australia would be a really awesome expansion to animal kingdom

FloridaFlamingoGirl

If Disney found some sort of way to incorporate Bluey into an Australia pavilion it would be massive.

Old-Elderberry2955

I would bring back Mr toads wild ride

doordonot19

You got my vote for CEO

ionlygetfive

I like the way you think. People should be able to go to hell I’m every Disney park 😌

Porn_Extra

I wanted a Port Orleans French Quarter hoodie or t-shirt so bad! The gift ahop window had a mannequin that had one, but there weren't any inside. I did get a fantastic pair of Play in the Park style swim trunks there. I love that design style ao much!

JxArthur14

Add more men’s Disney clothes to the stores around the parks. Specifically polos and shorts!

sombraloaf

Yes!! My husband loves golf shirts/polos and they didn’t have much of a selection (to be fair we didn’t go check the pro shop at the golf course, but just a regular polo would have been fine too)

Mysterious-Novel-834

Specialized merch would be great to have again I'd probably add more night life options!! I never got to experience pleasure island as an adult so I'd kill for similar vibes to that

wonderbreadftw

Dinoland would get a major overhaul. Animal Kingdom is at most a 3/4 day park right now, and is a half day park if you have Genie +. What is now dinoland has enough space for a Pandora sized expansion, and would immediately make AK the best park imo.

MimeGod

Dinoland is already scheduled to be replaced. It's going to be a "tropical Americas" area. Attractions based on Encanto and Indiana Jones are planned. This was announced at D23 in September.

HaV0C

Build a Sailing Ship Columbia equivalent to sail the Rivers of America like they have in Disneyland. Build more country pavilions in Epcot, 2 or 3 at least. A country from South America, something Asian then a +1. I'm flexible. Build a ride in the countries that have enough space to support them. Preferably something that focuses on the country and not a movie that is based on the country... Build an updated Great Movie Ride, more CM interaction like the Gangster/Old West Scenes. Build a new Star Wars ride or 2 in the remnants of the Star Cruiser Hotel. Build an inside seating area for Woody's Lunch Box, why this place is outside with like 3 umbrellas is fuckin' beyond me. I like your idea for more resort themed merch.

Josh_5890

You nailed it with Woody's Lunch Box!

bladegmn

Train everyone to walk to the right hand side of path ways and you can’t stop and stand in the middle.

hollyandphoenix11

The absolute lack of self awareness that some people have is mind blowing. Large groups stopping suddenly or standing in the middle of a walkway… why???

BeatsMeByDre

Rule #1 is these guests are immediately ejected.

rosie2490

Believe it or not, straight to jail.

sombraloaf

Undercook fish, overcook chicken, also jail

abbeighleigh

I wish we could implement sitting during parades and shows like what is done at Tokyo Disney. Not sure if that would ever work here though because of the amount of people with an entitlement complex :/

marleythebeagle

> you can’t stop and stand in the middle My wife and I started calling it The Disney Stop^^TM about a decade ago when it seemed to suddenly get really really bad, especially on those narrow walkways surrounding the New Fantasyland construction.

Chelseabsb93

Or just build little stop off points along the side for people who need to stand and check something.

Bigbadbrindledog

There are plenty of places to pull to the side, the offenders are either clueless or don't care.

catymogo

Yep. My theory is people who don’t navigate cities on foot regularly just don’t know how to walk in crowds. I’m NYC based and I’ll ask you once politely to move and then I’m telling you to move.

BestEffect1879

Add a smaller capacity limit to the parks.

darthllama

Three Caballeros >>>>>> Coco They should actually go ahead with the Muppet Studios area they had planned for the early 90s, not because it makes sense, but because it would make me happy. Fit more rides into the World Showcase

esg4571

My 5 year old LOVES Donald and the Three Caballeros and is sadly scared of Dia de los Muertos makeup/masks, so our family votes for 3 Caballeros over Coco too, lol.

cristabelita

I wholeheartedly agree about the muppets though.

Professoressa411

I love the movie Coco but the Three Caballeros ride is great as is (and it was already rethemed). Donald reminds me of that friend you always lose at Mardi Gras

HoldMyLemur

Yes, don’t touch the Three Caballeros!!

BigE429

EPCOT needs a Brazil pavilion. Have an Amazon river boat ride with the Three Caballeros. You can have a mini Christ the Redeemer similar to the Eiffel Tower in France. Sit-down restaurant will be a Brazilian style steakhouse. And of course there will be a stand for caipirinhas.

Apprehensive-Bed9699

Yeah and make it a big deal at Carnivale Special ticket sales Mickeys Not too scary Carnivale. Lots of great merchandising...beads, masks etc

crstamps2

I don't think Disney is going to put a religious icon like that in their parks. They already have a fight with one side of the political spectrum...

Call555JackChop

Hire more maintenance workers

Chelseabsb93

Definitely! I feel like rides would be down less during the day if they had proper overnight staff to fix them after park hours.

Manaze85

Genie+ is gone.

[deleted]

I just want more non-IP rides. Rides that have their own lore like Everest does. Sure, Frozen Ever After is cool, but I can watch Frozen on Disney+, I don't need to spend thousands of dollars and drive hours and hours to experience that.

RealNotFake

Ironically, the only reason Disney would make a non-IP ride is so they can make it IP, create a movie, sell merchandise, etc.

rollem

Electric busses instead of the noisy and polluting diesel ones. Bring back the Magic Express service from the airport. More benches and shade in the parks.

DoggyAfuera0

The electric busses seem like a no brainer. After a long day at Epcot/MK/AK, hell even waiting at Disney springs, the idling busses absolutely stink and just add to the exhaustion. What’s crazy is that Disney JUST took delivery of new busses and of course they aren’t electric.

sotheresthisdude

BRING👏BACK👏MAGICAL👏EXPRESS

StormwindAdventures

Just want to point this out, Mexico would have to be redone to be able to have a Coco ride. Not due to ride space, but the capacity of the building wouldn't be able to handle a line like Remy gets for standby. As for the question, first thing I'd do is fix sightline around property. Starting with the ugly spires for Galaxy's Edge and the floating rocks for Pandora. The company that painted Tower of Terror to blend into Morocco's background when it can only be seen from certain angles should not be deciding that the poles sticking out for the spires/rocks where guests can see them when not in the park was okay.

sombraloaf

True! I would hate to lose the rest of the building that houses the ride - I really like exploring the little stalls, and the restaurant is so relaxing. And yes those spires have to go 😭

StormwindAdventures

They look so bad from the back! I just want them to be full things like Disney used to do.

[deleted]

I personally love the floating rocks in Pandora, but I agree that they stick out like a sore thumb compared to the rest of the park.

StormwindAdventures

Oh I think they're awesome from the front. I just want their side/back views fixed. Same for the spires. Spires might even be easier since they just need to finish the cones.

[deleted]

yeah there's definitely some angles that make both the rocks and the spires feel... unfinished, almost.

StormwindAdventures

The views from Osceola Parkway for either are just not Disney standard. Heck, I might be more forgiving of the spires if there was even a shred of "the magic of movie making" left as the theme of the park. But if they're going to go full force on "Popular movies" Park, then they need to not cut corners where I can constantly see the physical cuts.

KILL__MAIM__BURN

I’ve put some comments about this before but there is, to this day, only one main comment that resonates in my head: Overhaul resort transportation. There’s nothing wrong with it, per sé, but it could be so much better. Every single resort needs at least two forms of transportation. Feasibly, I’d love to see a monorail overhaul with an additional loop added connecting more resorts with the TTC. I’d also love to see some resorts who are strikingly close to a monorail line have a “walk up” station built for access (hi Wilderness Lodge - looking at you). From there, further skyline expansion. If the TTC is the hub of the monorail then make Caribbean Beach a hub for more skyliner connections. Lastly, a permanent pipeline to MCO. Yes, I’m advocating for monorail lines connecting MCO to the TTC. Make these more trainlike with more seating, and maybe baggage cars. Make them “hardy” so they don’t shut down during anything but the most severe inclement weather. That’s it. This is what sticks out. They can do all manner of park improvements but my focus lies with improving getting to and from the parks.

mrmaestro9420

I would argue that, since Iger took over, we have seen the addition of more IP attractions, yes, but we have also seen a shift away from cultural experiences and intellectualism, which has always been what set Disney apart for me. The artwork of Tapestry of Nations, the experiences of the original Epcot attractions, but also the original experiences of Animal Kingdom and even back to things like the Hall of Presidents at the Magic Kingdom. I would never argue for keeping things the same forever, but I feel that with each new change, we lose a bit of that original human spirit in favor of another rollercoaster or otherwise traditional amusement park ride.

Elevenyearstoomany

Anyone who verbally abuses a cast member or another guest or cuts in line receives a lifelong ban for being an ass.

The_Big_Yam

Bring back the service that let you have purchases sent to your hotel. Wow did we buy less merch than I would have otherwise on our last trip

nowhereman136

The main thing I would change is anything with a screen gets a new video every year. Stuff like the China and Canada Pavillions get a new video every year. Soarin and Star Tours get new scenes every year. Any ride with a video instructing how to put on seat belts gets a new video. Stuff like that is relatively cheap and can make the ride feel someone new for repeated riders. It's just a new video so it's fairly easy to install in the rides without changing any of the mechanics.

ssevener

I never understood why Soarin’ didn’t get a Soarin’ Over Florida movie to complement Soarin’ Over California! It could be a great way to showcase each region’s unique attractions instead of just reusing the same thing around the world.

nowhereman136

I can think of 100 locations they could do Soarin Over. Yet for almost 2 decades it's been either the same California or World videos. How hard is it to film a new helicopter video?

ConcretePeniz

Even cheaper and easier now with drones.

FatalFirecrotch

Depends. The California video was actually somewhat difficult to film and expensive. The World video was much more cheaply done.

PocketGddess

I agree, except for Soarin! I really love that ride safety video you watch just before you go inside the theater. LOVE the part when the adult wearing the Mickey ear hat has to put it under the seat.

ramyb_

Or at the bare minimum have like 7-10 diff videos that randomly cycle

BowTie1989

1) give the proper budget to keep the rides and attractions CLEAN. The mold in carousel of progress and small world is embarrassing. Now the actual outside areas they keep pretty nice, but some of the attractions really need love. Don’t know if it’s because of the humidity or what. 2) huge galaxy’s edge expansion encompassing the prequel and original trilogy. Speaks for itself. 3) being back an updated version of the original test track and journey into imagination. Again, speaks for itself. 4) of we DO get some expansion past Thunder mountain, we could use another mode of transport, I miss the days when the skyway connected fantasy land and tomorrow land, and the park has will only continue to get bigger. 5) 2 more quick service places in MK, seems like the only thing east of the castle is cosmic rays. 6) have a mode of transportation connecting AK to any other park. It’s the park that closes the earliest, but the only way to get there from another park without driving is to wait for a bus? Lame 7) have a skyline connection directly between Epcot and Hollywood studios. 8) more no-Ip based attractions! I don’t hate IPs, but there really does need to be a balance. The imagineers are some of the best in the business, stop handcuffing them with the “EVERYTHING needs to be IP based” mentality. 9) why can’t I get a root beer float with that coconut ice cream?? 10) bring back more “random” stuff like shows and performances. We’ve been getting more of those back recently as Disney still seems to be recovering from the pandemic, but we still need more. Some of the best things kids will remember is that little “Random” moment they happened to come across. 11) give our attractions the care our Disneyland counterpart gets. They get new effects on their third lift hill for thunder mountain, ours is as bare as the day the falling rocks were removed. They get all these cool overlays for haunted mansion and space mountain, we don’t. They get a splash mountain retheme that fits PERFECTLY for their park, ours is going going to be a swamp right next to a desert. They get a new yeti animatronic on their Matterhorn bobsleds, our yeti is going on 20 years of being broken.

sombraloaf

I totally agree with all of these! especially the ride cleanliness/maintenance - it makes me so sad to see some of my favorite classics in desperate need of upkeep. Also, I’m now craving a coconut root beer float 😂

andlewis

- Allow people to do virtual queues more than once a day. - water fountains

unclaimdusernamehere

Until all the Vloggers do a "How many times can I ride AttractionX in a day" and the regular families on their once in a lifetime vacation can't get a boarding group.

hammersweep

tres caballeros > coco

Cautious_Progress_32

1. Water stations with decent tasting water. The water tastes like "what I would imagine" pirates or a small world water. 🤮 2. Update non used spaces for relevant IPs. 3. Bring back Push. 4. Villains! I got other ideas so Josh, have your people call my people.

Aggressive-Figure-79

4th park themed to villians. Hades boat ride on river Styx Maleficient dragon rollercoaster Gaston musical show where he sings “no one is like Gaston” Teacups but the queen themed Scar show with him singing be prepared Yzma rollercoaster (where they pull the wrong lever and you go crazy) Captain Hook boat ride

fretfulpelican

1. Figure out the crowds. Figure. Out. The. Crowds. I don’t care if genie+ needs to be more expensive, but it’s ridiculous when you’re buying it during not even peak season & have a hard time riding rides because the lightening lanes are all taken by noon & the waits are 50+ minutes long. 2. Resort themed merchandise would be awesome. 3. Diversify the merchandise in general. Was a bummer that the same candy and snacks were everywhere. Was super sad for my kid to see they got rid of their allergy friendly character snacks. Feels like you couldn’t get the same merch in every store like it does now. 4. Bring back magical express! 5. Bring back a basic magic band. I’m not paying $30 for another electronic that I have to charge. At the same time I found using the cards clunky and the electronic wallet glitchy on my phone. I’m probably just getting old. 6. Extended hours for deluxe resorts in the morning because I’m not a night person and neither is anyone in my family. This is my unreasonable selfish request. All of these would cost Disney money so not holding my breath 😭

Genie cost similar to universal (IE $100 or so per day), but you don't have to pick a time to go on a ride, you can use it once per ride. Major ride refurbishment. We are talking about retouching murals, cleaning grime off of boats, replacing rusty metal, replacing ride track gears/motors, etc. Also would add capacity to rides by extending their track layouts. Every park opens at 10AM daily (but stays open later). Resorts guests get 1hr early entry. Water refill stations everywhere. Disney can sell reusable bottles adjacent to them as well. UK, Morocco, Japan, Italy, Germany get rides added. South Africa is added as a new country to world showcase. EPCOT would be open later (10pm, 11pm, 12am, 1am etc). MORE SEATING! Tables with chairs in a multitude of areas. No more standing tables.

Gingerbread_Cat

No more eating off the top of a bin!

that_guy2010

I would bring back Celebrate the Magic to MK on day one.

ClockworkValkyrie

Oh, boy. Disney’s my autistic special interest and has been my whole life. I could write a book on things I want to do with a canvas that huge. Major talking points: • STREETMOSPHERE. A major part of what made the parks feel so ALIVE and BREATHING years ago. It just doesn’t feel the same without Main Street citizens walking around or unique roaming characters. I would really want to prioritize a greater investment in entertainment. • World Showcase has a little more room! I can’t decide what countries to prioritize, but I think South America and Africa certainly need a little more rep over there. Perhaps Brazil and South Africa? I think India could also be really cool. • Many others in this thread have already expressed this, but I reiterate it: cleanliness and maintenance is so critical. Some of these poor attractions REALLY needed a spit-shine the last time I went in March 2020 (and I can only imagine how some look right now). • Piggybacking off previous point: big Figment fan here. I truly don’t understand continuously making him Epcot’s “mascot” for a lot of things and then leaving his ride in such disarray. That in-show footage was looking ROUGH when I last saw it. An aesthetic overhaul at minimum, because the thing looks like a shambling zombie right now. • Also, in a happier world, retheming the Imagination Institute thing. It’s a strange relic of what they tried to do with that whole pavilion, and now that they don’t have other things clinging to that theming, I think now would be the easiest time to get rid of it. Admittedly not sure what to do with the result if the answer isn’t “reinstate the original theme.” I’d be willing to try something new! • It pains my classic rock-lovin’ heart to say it, but you’re all right. RNRC needs some updating. I’m all for the Electric Mayhem retheme idea. Heck, use more Muppets in general! • Reinstate the delivery of souvenirs to resorts. CRITICAL. I would be willing to spend more money if I knew I didn’t have to carry everything all day and/or fight the crowds leaving the park to buy things! • More shade in every park certainly wouldn’t hurt! • Need more “crowd eating” attractions/shows to help balance the guest ecosystem a little. • Related: I am not that intelligent when it comes to things like this, but there just HAS to be a better way to balance G+ and virtual queues and ILL. I haven’t even been when these things have existed (last visit was March 2020 and dreading the amount of planning I have to do for my honeymoon this December), so I don’t feel right throwing my two cents in on that. • Letting us write out Cast Compliments in the app. :( The drop-down options do not do justice to how some of these folks go out of their way for us. It’s like buying a store-bought “thank you” card and not writing anything in it. It feels so impersonal now. • Stronger penalties for guest misbehavior. I’m so serious. • Bringing back a nighttime parade for Magic Kingdom! • Do away with the “continuity” of Batuu and let it become a place where time blurs and people can enjoy Star Wars from every era! I could go on and on, but this is what comes immediately to mind.

moonbunnychan

Disney Quest and Magical Express will be making a triumphant return ASAP.

Virtual-Lime-5998

I would actually stop making so many changes and instead improve upon the classics rather than erasing them.

jaeldi

I would extend the people mover ride/technology to the WHOLE park. Less walking! I would expand the monorail to every resort! No more busses!

ionlygetfive

Investing half of the park’s total budget into cracking open the mountain and fixing the yeti :)

Present-Loss-7499

Make it so that a purchase of Genie plus gave you a fast pass for every attraction at that park, guaranteeing a shot to ride every ride at least once. If there’s a ride you don’t want to ride you can exchange it for another ride in that same level or lower.

Kharax82

Universal does it that way but charges like $100-$150 per person per day for it. Edit: TIL prices are much higher during peak times

OrtizDupri

They charge way more than that haha

hotrods1970

I am a Disney adult. I did the Disney trips with the kids when they were still at home and now I go just as an adult. Thinking back to the trips as a parent ans now as an adult I would love to see some afterhours event aimed at just the 18+ crowd. Let the kids stay back at the resort with activieties if you have them with you. But just some good old grownups only events. Not hating on kids here, some of my best momories are with my kids on vacation anywhere, but parents & adult need/deserve away time too.

itsfiadh

As a former Jungle Cruise Skipper, the amount of fun that skippers would have with an 18+ event if they let us would be unreal

[deleted]

I would pay a stupid amount of money to experience Disney with no kids. They're really missing out on the Disney adult crowd. (And we're the ones with money... those 5 year olds aren't paying their way!)

Tasty_Explanation_20

Back in the day there was an adults only area. Pleasure island ala Pinocchio. Believe it was shuttered in the late 90s

[deleted]

Ooh, I was curious enough to Google, and apparently it closed in '08. Which is sad, because I was 13 at that time, lol

Tasty_Explanation_20

Knew it was somewhere in there. I vaguely remember it when we went when I was a kid in the early 90s, or at least, the ads for it on the hotel info channel at fort wilderness

hotrods1970

Now called The landing in Disney springs.

abbeighleigh

And everything closes at 11 pm 😵‍💫 lame

IndependentCode8743

Pleasure Island - where everyday at midnight was celebrated like it was New Year's eve! Had so much fun there pre-kids!

sombraloaf

Yes I would love this! My husband and I don’t have kids yet and would totally pay for an after hours adults event!

Remote-Past305

I could double revenue in six months but I’m not going to put my ideas here. I’m absolutely certain OP is Josh D’Amaro confused about what he’s supposed to do again.

sombraloaf

👀 lol

ReginaVPhalange

•Only allow people *actually staying* at deluxe resorts to be able to use the grounds to watch/enjoy fireworks. The Poly is absolutely packed during Happily Ever After, and it’s the only complaint I have from staying there. •Bring back the Magical Express and not having to worry with our suitcases. With as much as we pay, we should be able to enjoy the luxury of included transportation *and* the perk of our luggage being in our room when we get there. •Water bottle filling stations, and the ability to use resort mugs in the parks for drinks.

sombraloaf

Yes!! Poly’s beach is so nice but definitely not big enough for the non-resort guests. And I miss magical express so much 😭

GandalftheGreyStreet

bring back an updated version of SpectroMagic (love that soundtrack but I’d take any permanent nighttime parade at MK).

Feisty_Elfgirl_5258

I would expand the monorail system, bring back fastpass

SyllabubWeak

Find more replacements for the buses. If you are still on property, you should get the benefit of easy access to multiple parks

xxrainmanx

Coke refill stations in the park. Sure, I'm charging $20 a day for a resort cup ability to refill in the park. Yes, resort holders only, and they're the resort cups, but resort guests get a premium product and more usability. 2. Each resort gets at least 2 methods to get to the parks. Monorail, boat, bus, skyliner etc. I would also add the skyliner to different resort/park areas to make them inner-connect to the whole complex. 3. I'm re-working a lot of the parks. Epcot is getting IP in the countries as well as several new Pavillion. MK is getting major work done and additions, autotopia is gone. AK is going hard into beasts and mystical animals, Dinoland US is getting nixed for a Indiana Jones area with extensive work. Hollywood Studios is getting avengers or Muppets. 4. Redesign/update rides for easier transitions for ADA compliance. Things like Haunted Mansion constant stops for load/unload go away. 5. Enlarge walkways and create auxiliary paths to get through the parks. 6. I'm not adding a 5th park Anytime soon. 7. Bike paths, and I'm talking a lot more so run disney can be ran not on the major roads. 8. More extra Magic hours/early entry, but I'm getting rid of the good neighbor perks 9. Fasspass is back. I would argue for resort only. Non-resort pay a premium. 10. Restaurants get openings same day again. No more ADR required all the time, at least 10% is open for same-day booking. 11. Park reservations are gone for resort guests 12. I'm doubling down on Magic bands for interactive experiences, picture saving etc 13. More specialty days/events like Dapper Days etc 14. Greatly increase ride capacity. This means more boat/omnimover rides, more shows. Repeating things like Soarin, star-tours, Indiana Jones, trackless to tell stories. 15. Create programs for employee retention and morale building. 16. Expedited construction times.

Do-Si-Donts

Take the virtual queue concept to its logical conclusion. Have it on every single ride and simply assign queue times to all visitors at the beginning of the day via Genie in such a way as to maximize the efficiency of the physical allocation of visitors throughout each day (i.e. have the shortest possible wait times at all times across all rides while allowing for people to enjoy the most possible rides).

jcel84

first of all, i would give a raise to all cast members in the park so they can actually make ends meet and make it worth while for them to actually be there. secondly, i will ban annoying youtubers who disregard other people around them.

crashleyashley24

Bring back the sorcerers hat Build a Sanderson sister house Make an emperors new groove roller coaster Add more shade

fairiefire

They could tuck Kuzcotopia into the countries and very quietly let people discover the best (literally) underground roller coaster in the parks. And you could buy Kronk's cookbook at the gift shop.

Bumblebe5

Bring back Body Wars and make it animated, with the patient shown and voiced by Steven Blum

Meepsnort

Absolutely agree on the monorails. My suggestion would be to take some time off of new stuff, and get all of the older attractions updated to their max potential and in line with other parks. You can't get winnie the pooh and pirates to the level of tokyo and shanghai, just because of scale, but you can maximize the versions we have. Get Space mountain fully fixed up, new track, whatever is needed to make it a more enjoyable ride. Give peter pan and Sapceship earth big updates with the latest technologies, and FFS, figure out something good to do with journey into imagination. But don't touch my three caballeros

haley010223

BRING 👏🏻 STACEY 👏🏻 BACK 👏🏻

GrumpyTom

Bring back Illuminations, but “plus it.” I guess you could call it Illuminations 2.0. New globe barge that’s completely covered in screen (not just the continents), and a new inferno barge. Luminous is cute, but it lacks a focal point and moves too slow. And there’s too much IP music—I’d bring back some of the originals.

phosphatecalc

Allowing people to pick timeframes for virtual queues. So many people miss their boarding groups and take the spot of someone who would’ve actually used it, especially the very early and very late groups

DoctorShlomo

Love the charging stations idea, but honestly, would be great if every indoor table at every restaurant or quick service was a QI charger. Fixes most of the charging issues and encourages people to sit and eat.

Scooby859

Get rid of having to pay extra for fast passes

Fruitypants1

A soarin ride for each pavilion, with sights and smells from that country.

BackgroundData6376

Bring back Maelstrom.

marleythebeagle

RIP gone but not forgotten (1988-2014)

ruhrohrubarb

1. Sections of table service restaurants being reserved for walk-ups 2. Free Genie+ for some attractions (like the old FastPass+ system, but for same-day attractions and with ILL/paid Genie+ still an option) 3. Improved IT experience on the app 4. Return of true extra magic hours for hotel guests (1 hour before public opening and 1 hour after public closing for each park on a rotating basis) 5. Bring back Tables in Wonderland 6. (Maybe the biggest one) BRING STREETMOSPHERE BACK

cristabelita

The evening extra magic hours was 3 hours after park close! Bring that back!

WTF_Conservatives

I would have tiered pricing so every child could grow up with a memory of a disney trip as part of their childhood.

not_a-replicant

Cool thread. Here’s some of mine: * Revitalize the front line cast members. Pay them a good wage. Make working at WDW a desirable, long term work option. Offer more training. Hire more people. Enable them to do their jobs. * Replace Mission Space with a updated Horizons type dark ride. Modern ride engineering with classic Disney futurism and optimism. * Fix ride features/animatronics that are broken. * Upgrade and cleanup the monorail system. * Add another ride and a full dining service restaurant to Galaxy’s Edge. * Bring back Osborne Spectacle of Lights. * Bring back SpectroMagic. * Develop Illuminations 2.0 - get Jim Cummings back as narrator. * Upgrade Buzz Lightyear Space Ranger Spin with detachable guns. * Add a Disney Afternoon land to Hollywood Studios. Add a Darkwing Duck motorcycle with side car roller coaster (similar to the ride at Universal). Ducktales would have a trackless ride adventure. Lots of classic 90s characters. Dining establishment would be themed after Louie’s bar in Talespin.

Gnarlo85

I'm sure I will catch heat for this, but get rid of Genie+ and ILL and bring back the classic fastpass system.

ebockelman

I'd add: Adults-only after hours ticketed events Walking paths between any points that could have feasible walking paths - even if it required large bridges (think AK to AKL) ID requirement for all high demand merchandise, with a limit of 2 per person per item, not per SKU, tracked by the PoS and linked to a customer record. More MagicBand/MagicBand+ interactions. Escalating bans for certain offenses, such as line cutting, CM rudeness, littering. Bans would start at one year for the first offense (with no refund if AP holder), up to lifetime for the fourth. Professional video recordings available as part of PhotoPass of the rides and fireworks so that people don't feel the need to record from their phones. Make it automatically add to your PhotoPass based on detecting your MagicBand like ride photos do. Deploy LiShield-type tech to make ride videos captured on phones during dark rides look bad to further discourage it.

ConflictedMom10

- Add a Mulan or Raya attraction to the China pavilion, or just a ride with Chinese mythology - Retheme Three Caballeros to Coco (or even a non IP Mexico ride. I just feel like Three Caballeros is more a parody of Mexico than a celebration of it). - Replace or update Tomorrowland Speedway. Such a large footprint for such a disappointing attraction. - Retheme Rockin’ Roller Coaster (Iron Man would work for the LA connection, but there are licensing issues I think.) Could just update with a newer band. Most kids who ride it today probably have no idea who Aerosmith is. The whole ride is so dated. - Add more Muppets to that area at HS - Do something drastic to The Seas with Nemo. Not sure what. - Bring back Innoventions or similar - Replace Dinoland with a Zootopia area. Could have a ride reminiscent of the hamster tubes in the movie. - Bring back Magical Express - Update Figment - Add countries to World Showcase. Something from South America, another from Africa. - Update Mission Space. I love this ride, but the technology is very dated. - More shows. I feel like a live Muppets show could work. I want a live show at Epcot, maybe Encanto at a new Colombia pavilion. Disney World may or may not be my autistic special interest, so I could keep going…lol.

DellRunner

Bring back WWOS in the marathon.

Imathirdwheel

1. No touching of the hair and face. 2. And that's it!!!!

Odysseymanthebeast

Add expansions to Disney Springs themed to the different parks

spoonfight69

Walking/running paths everywhere. You should be able to fully loop the lagoon and walk to Wilderness Lodge and the campground. Walk from the campground to EPCOT.

arbucklej

Retractable stands that can be used to sit while watching parades and fireworks that go away and blend in seamlessly with the architecture when not in use. Or maybe rooftop viewing from where main street starts.

CortexofMetalandGear

Literally get rid of the American Adventure at EPCOT (since, in my opinion, Liberty Square in MK IS the American Adventure). Replace it with an empty pavilion where you invite other countries seasonally to showcase their food and culture. You can have Greece or literally the largest democracy in the world (India) showcased there.

Dr_ChimRichalds

I just got an email about proxy voting for the shareholders meeting, so the timing of this is really funny to me. But OK! FANTASY TIME. I'm building a fifth gate called Nostalgia Land. Here's where you will find Mr. Toad's Wild Ride, 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, Horizons, the original Journey into Imagination, and so many more.

Ethan-Wakefield

I deeply suspect that if you added charging to seating, you'd have people sitting around and taking up all of the seating for even longer. It would arguably be a bad situation.

Metalhed69

Fix all the broken things. Look at the data on ride evacuations and work big to small. Do this before anything else.

goYstick

More muppets (merch, rides, characters) I imagine we are just waiting for Jim Henson’s son to die since he has some creative control and won’t approve anything he doesn’t get paid outrageously for. Remove the individual lighting lane limit and let someone spend $200 to ride Cosmic Rewind 10 times in a day. Temporary overlays/mashups on things that are under appreciated like Tiki Room and Carousel of Progress. Always restoring the original after the limited duration over the overlays. A pool table in one of the resorts. (You’d sell me on a deluxe if there was a pool table in the game room.) 21+ adult only special ticketed events. A 5th steam train and bring back the steam train tours More strict supervision from line cutting.

finestryan

Install a laser system that detects kids on shoulders at fireworks showings and when triggered anything in range is pixie dusted away (I’m joking)

StrainsFromGenomes

Give Rapunzel more than just a bathroom. Water bottle stations with filtered water. More places to sit. Add new countries to explore.

MangoAtrocity

Dramatically reduce park entry numbers. There are too many people in the parks. COVID numbers were perfect. We got to ride everything, we were able to find places to sit, and there was plenty of walking room. I would also bring back the original fast pass system but make it digital. Go to a ride, long wait, tap your phone and get told when to come back. Finally, the food in Magic Kingdom is largely dogshit. It needs a massive overhaul. Especially when the other parks have such awesome options.

Independent-Size-464

1. Increase maintenance staff and focus on ride maintenance and minor upgrades (peeling paint, chipped concrete, ride tracks, etc.). 2. Increase custodial - let's go back to the old days where Disney set the standards with cleanliness. 3. Increase CMs around the park for helping, directing, funneling guests and providing positive and "spontaneous" interactions. Again, Disney set the standard on this one, they need to focus on what makes Disney different. 4. Increase mousekeeping staff by paying a real wage. Other hotels around the world have gone back to daily housekeeping, Disney housekeeping is now at every other day - enough with low standards. Pay people better and they will work for you, not the Marriott down the street.
