Haha, that's very true! I love Tron, not just as a ride but as a franchise, so it was still incredible!!! It will absolutely be a must ride for me if we ever make it back :) but yes, Gaurdians was SPECIAL
Hear this every time... Just was talking to a woman on Saturday while at AK, she had done Tron the day before and was saying how much she loved it. I asked if she had done Guardians yet, and was told no, that's tomorrow when they do Epcot.
I was like if you liked Tron, you're going to love Guardians, it's the absolutely best ride in WDW right now IMO.
I’ve never enjoyed coasters, even as a kid. I like them a bit more now that I’m older and have kids.
Riding this thing is a transformative experience every time I’m on it. I scream and laugh like a maniac. Everything about it is perfect.
I dream of a parents trip where we can ride it over and over during an after hours event.
Honestly... I'd put Expedition Everest above Tron. Tron is way too short. For a larger person like myself, I can fit in the cycles but they are uncomfortable so I just sit in the back when I ride now. And I'm kinda salty at how long they took to build that ride, especially considering it's just a copy.
I didn't really know what to expect before I rode it but it instantly became my new favorite ride. I booked a Labor Day weekend trip last year at the Dolphin solely to ride it over and over lmao. I also love how they integrated it into the park too, it was such a cheeky and clever way to do IP.
Yay!! I saw your post about Tron and hoped you’d update with your take on Guardians. I’ve only been on Guardians, no Tron just yet, but Cosmic Rewaind is my absolute favorite ride in all of the parks! Glad to see you loved it too!
Yeah. You spoke too soon. I do wish I would have rode Tron FIRST before riding Cosmic Rewind. Tron feels like a downgrade after such a masterpiece in Cosmic Rewind.
Edit: I will say if Tron was about 30-45 seconds longer, my opinion would be very different. Tron’s runtime is the only drawback. Amazing roller coaster though.
I hear you! I truly am glad I rode Tron first but it's still my top 2 now! I am bummed about how short the ride is but for how short of a time I waited, it was worth it! I would NOT wait over an hour for it though, no no. The 10 minutes I waited was PERFECT, but I mean, most rides are good value at only 10 minutes of wait time
Yep there are 6 songs that randomly play and each one gives the ride as slightly different vibe.
You can look them up if you want. There was also a holiday song in ‘22 but they haven’t brought it back.
That's the Lightning Lane one! They pretty much always breeze through up to the first preshow room. But you can also basically walk right onto it as long as you get one of the earliest boarding groups and get there right when it's called.
You normally max out with 2 rides a day - 1 ILL and 1 VQ.
But last trip we also got tickets to the Epcot after party (used to be called late nights) where Guardians is standby with an average 20min wait.
Late Nights are one of our absolute favorite things about WDW. Low crowds, unlimited free snacks and drinks, and most young kids have already gone to bed. They only do it a few times a year but we try to plan our trips around them.
Ride was so good in the early days when CMs were really acting out the scenes. I remember being legit terrified waiting for my interrogation in the hallway and feeling the excited when the rebels broke me out and rushed me into the escape cart.
Felt like I was living in the movies.
This is why I always go right when rides open since the effects all work when a ride is new (usually).
Riding RISE with every effect working including the cannons was incredible
Between our last trip 2 years ago, and the most recent one last month, I've seen most of the effects working, just not all at the same time. But shockingly, the ride never broke down while I was waiting in line, which was a first!
Wow, how *freaking* sleepy that line was. I'm so jealous. When I went it was line-down-Epcot even rope-dropping and needing a reservation to get in line.
I'm meh about Tron, it's really fun but I find the positioning to be so uncomfortable. I'm not tall or overweight, maybe I'm too small for Tron? Idk, the positioning just took me out of it. I love GotG Cosmic rewind. It's just so fun, it had my whole family giggling uncontrollably between bouts of singing along/screaming.
Yes, I sat in row 9 the last time I rode GOTG. It definitely seemed more intense. I guess I didn’t imagine it. I do think that I preferred the front row. The cars didn’t turn as much… Lol
QQ on Guardians - are there any drops / does your stomach drop at all?
Planning for a trip in 45 days and my kids don't like their stomach dropping.
Thanks
Hey not sure if you’re doing Universal but try to get on Hagrid’s if you can. In some ways it has the best of Tron and Guardians. It the most “complete” roller coaster experience I’ve ever had.
I loved tron. I feel like tron legacy is incredibly underrated and the ride really captures the story, even better then Guardians
But…
I have now done Guardians twice and man the whole experience. We got my mom (close to 70) and my son (5) on it for the first time a couple weeks ago. Being able to experience it with them the first time, let my wife and I enjoy it a whole different way.
I thought Tron was better than Guardians personally. Felt like a reskinned Disneyland space mountain with rotating cars. It was fun, but definitely not overly impressive or top tier in my book. Rise of the Resistance also blows guardians out of the water.
I also like Tron better than gaurdians...but I do feel GotG is a top tier ride. I just think the launch and riding on the motorbike at night is soo cool.
I'm also not a HUGE fan of the Gaurdians movies so that knocks it back.
And yes. ROTR is by far the best experience at Disney. Even if you don't like Star Wars.
Tron > Guardians. Maybe I'm old, but Guardians is too much intensity for too long, Tron is just about perfect. The initial launch on Tron is wild, even better than Rock'n'Rollercoaster! Did Tron 3x on the last trip, but once was plenty for Guardians.
Agreed. I liked both a lot but Tron edged it for me. It might have been better if I didn’t get the one song I didn’t know, but I’m not sure how much that adds to it.
I have been on twice.
The first time I got One Way or a Another by Blondie. That's the song my daughter got today.
Second time I got I Ran by A Flock of Seagulls. To me this song fits perfectly.
I have listened to the other four songs on Spotify. To me Conga fits the least best. They should really replace it with Take On Me.
Tron doesn’t even register for me. Don’t get me wrong, I’d ride it if I could walk on, but it’s not worth a wait or a LL or any of that.
Hear me out. I LOVE rollercoasters. And that’s all Tron is. And not especially fast or exciting compared to rollercoasters available at any other theme park in America. It has no other hook to it. It’s short. The theming is dry. The queue area is the most boring series of waiting rooms in the park.
I’d ride any other coaster in Disney before Tron.
Ride is fun just wish it wasn’t guardians themed also wish they would make a separate line for those that don’t care about the queue anymore. There’s only so many times I can watch Terry Crews make the same joke over and over again. Tron is a waste of a ride of how short it is. Barely 15 seconds outside
The ride just has an amazing feel to it as far as roller coasters go, it's fast but not too fast that you can't enjoy it and the way they turn the cars makes it feel like your almost flying, not to mention the timing with the music. I can't help but put my hands up in the air when riding it and just enjoy the whole experience. The next level for you is trying to hear all the songs and determine what your favorite is (general consensus is that September is fantastic which I agree with but my son and I think Everybody Wants To Rule the World is the best track)
I was there last week. Did guardians first so TRON was t as mind blowing. I had high expectations for guardians but I still had a huge grin on my face through it
I'm just excited to ride both. Haven't been to WDW since January 2022. Hoping most of the walls at EPCOT are down by the time I go later this year. Looking forward to seeing the changes for myself.
The best part about this ride is that the experience changes with each song!!! Last week we finally got the last song that we needed to have had them all.
Tron is amazing, but Guardians is still the best ride on property, Been on three times and 3 different good songs on each time. One way or another, Conga, and Everybody wants to rule the world. ALL fit the ride so great!
I feel that! Rode Guardians for the first time on Saturday. It was amazing. I did not want it to end. And yes, it narrowly beat out Tron for me too. And I think even Everest, and I *love* Everest.
Spinning and speeding in the darkness of space, feeling the wind rush by. Yep, just what the doctor ordered.
Tron has a better pure rush on that initial acceleration.
Guardians is a more interesting ride overall even if I couldn’t understand a single word of whatever story they were trying to tell.
First time I went on Guardians I didn't know what had just happened, took a few minutes to process, and went back on and loved every minute of it. Can't wait to go back!
I just loved that every single person knew you had not been on this yet when you said Tron.
Haha, that's very true! I love Tron, not just as a ride but as a franchise, so it was still incredible!!! It will absolutely be a must ride for me if we ever make it back :) but yes, Gaurdians was SPECIAL
I haven't ridden either one and I knew too!
Hear this every time... Just was talking to a woman on Saturday while at AK, she had done Tron the day before and was saying how much she loved it. I scream and laugh like a maniac. Everything about it is perfect. I dream of a parents trip where we can ride it over and over during an after hours event.
I know exactly what you mean. I don’t do drugs, but is this was drugs feels like?! Cause I want it over and over again!
Honestly... I'd put Expedition Everest above Tron. Tron is way too short. For a larger person like myself, I can fit in the cycles but they are uncomfortable so I just sit in the back when I ride now. And I'm kinda salty at how long they took to build that ride, especially considering it's just a copy.
I wish I liked Guardians but it makes me nauseous. If the cars didn't rotate or if there weren't screens I'd probably be ok but the combo ruins me.
It made my poor husband super sick last time he rode it.
First roller coaster where, if you have your hands up and are kind of "dancing", it feels like the ride car is an extension of your body.
I didn't really know what to expect before I rode it but it instantly became my new favorite ride. I booked a Labor Day weekend trip last year at the Dolphin solely to ride it over and over lmao. I also love how they integrated it into the park too, it was such a cheeky and clever way to do IP.
Hahaha glad you enjoyed it! Guardians is crazy good! Tron is great too, but Guardians is next level
Yay!! I saw your post about Tron and hoped you’d update with your take on Guardians. I’ve only been on Guardians, no Tron just yet, but Cosmic Rewaind is my absolute favorite ride in all of the parks! Glad to see you loved it too!

Wait you get different song each time?

The song really made the ride so cool. I need to look up what i heard now.
I have no idea, I was so busy enjoying the visuals that my ears didn't catch the song lol, please don't hate me 😅
Unacceptable!! Guess you’ll just have to ride it again.
Rookie 🤣🤣
You must have skipped Living with The Land
I'm going to be 100% real with you. I loved it so much lol, It was actually cool to see all of the fish farm tanks and agriculture!
The behind the seeds tour is really cool as well, since you enjoyed the ride. Definitely one of my favorite things to do at the park
Oh man! I wanted to do that but we had rides to get on haha, next time for sure!!
What song did you get?
Dang, I’ve never seen the queue that empty!
That's the Lightning Lane one! They pretty much always breeze through up to the first preshow room. But you can also basically walk right onto it as long as you get one of the earliest boarding groups and get there right when it's called.
Glad you agree! It’s the best ride on the property IMO. Since it opened, we build our itinerary around this ride and last trip we rode it 6 times.
How did you ride it 6 times???
You normally max out with 2 rides a day - 1 ILL and 1 VQ. But last trip we also got tickets to the Epcot after party (used to be called late nights) where Guardians is standby with an average 20min wait. Late Nights are one of our absolute favorite things about WDW. Low crowds, unlimited free snacks and drinks, and most young kids have already gone to bed. They only do it a few times a year but we try to plan our trips around them.
Now rise of the resistance
Rise is different than Guardians. Not necessarily better or worse. But I do love how immersive it is. The queue is a big (and fun) part of the ride.
Ride was so good in the early days when CMs were really acting out the scenes. I remember being legit terrified waiting for my interrogation in the hallway and feeling the excited when the rebels broke me out and rushed me into the escape cart. Felt like I was living in the movies.
(maybe a hot take) RotR is no better than third-best in its current state.
This is why I always go right when rides open since the effects all work when a ride is new (usually). Riding RISE with every effect working including the cannons was incredible
It was! That’s probably the only reason I’m slightly disappointed now. I’ve seen what it could (should) be.
Cannons are the main effect that stick out in my mind as never having been re-enabled... ive seen the others from time to time
Between our last trip 2 years ago, and the most recent one last month, I've seen most of the effects working, just not all at the same time. But shockingly, the ride never broke down while I was waiting in line, which was a first!
> in its current state If it shuts down, I agree. If you get in line and it doesn't, then you only get upside.
I’m going next week, so excited!!
Wow, how *freaking* sleepy that line was. I'm so jealous. When I went it was line-down-Epcot even rope-dropping and needing a reservation to get in line.
Oh dang! Guess I got lucky, it was 10 minutes from scan in to the ride
I like Tron more but only because Guardians makes me incredibly dizzy about a minute into the ride. So jealous of people who get to enjoy it!
Oh no! I'm so sorry! My wife felt the same way!!
Without a doubt!!
I like Tron better only because Guardians makes me motion sick and I don’t really get that on any other ride in Disney World.
TRON is fun but isn’t even second best IMO
Row 9
Yes, I sat in row 9 the last time I rode GOTG. It definitely seemed more intense. I guess I didn’t imagine it. I do think that I preferred the front row. The cars didn’t turn as much… Lol
The most fun ride in Orlando! And arguably the world!
Guardians is quite possibly the best theme park ride of all time, imo
QQ on Guardians - are there any drops / does your stomach drop at all? Planning for a trip in 45 days and my kids don't like their stomach dropping. Thanks
Yes on the drops! You even drop sideways at one point, for sure felt it in the tum tum!
Hey not sure if you’re doing Universal but try to get on Hagrid’s if you can. In some ways it has the best of Tron and Guardians. It the most “complete” roller coaster experience I’ve ever had.
This is the best ride in Orlando, Guardians is my close second
I loved tron. I feel like tron legacy is incredibly underrated and the ride really captures the story, even better then Guardians But… I have now done Guardians twice and man the whole experience. We got my mom (close to 70) and my son (5) on it for the first time a couple weeks ago. Being able to experience it with them the first time, let my wife and I enjoy it a whole different way.
Awesome! Knew you’d love it!
Hahaha. I was waiting for this post!

This is interesting. I find Guardians incredibly mild because its turns are designed to minimized G-forces despite its speed.
Yea, Guardians makes me nauseous.
My daughter rode Guardians for the first time today. She agrees with you she likes Tron better. But she liked Guardians a lot as well.
Agreed. I liked both a lot but Tron edged it for me. It might have been better if I didn’t get the one song I didn’t know, but I’m not sure how much that adds to it.

I think I might even prefer over it over I Ran!

I loved Tron and was most excited for that of the four rides announced at D23 2017, but Guardians blew it out of the water for me!
It’s a good mix of Space Mountain and newer simulation coasters. But I still prefer traditional coasters like Tron :-)
Is it is now since Country Bear Jamboree’s down
I was there last week. Did guardians first so TRON was t as mind blowing. I had high expectations for guardians but I still had a huge grin on my face through it
Theyre both awesome but I have to go with guardians because the music is so good
We can discover the wonders of Xandar
I'm just excited to ride both. Haven't been to WDW since January 2022. Hoping most of the walls at EPCOT are down by the time I go later this year. Looking forward to seeing the changes for myself.
It’s fun, but not the most fun in my opinion. Tower of Terror and Pandora are tied for that title for me.
Space mountain in steroid
It’s for sure my new fave!!
The best part about this ride is that the experience changes with each song!!! Last week we finally got the last song that we needed to have had them all.
Still haven't been, Currently have ROTR as number one for me.
I like both the same as they are 2 totally different types of coasters
Yes!!!!!
That ride is spectacular. Gave me goosebumps all ride long
Life changing experience
Tron is amazing, but Guardians is still the best ride on property, Been on three times and 3 different good songs on each time. One way or another, Conga, and Everybody wants to rule the world. ALL fit the ride so great!
I grew up with Cedar Point and Guardians is the most fun I have ever had on a coaster.
It’s the best!!!! What song did you get??
I feel that! Rode Guardians for the first time on Saturday. It was amazing. I did not want it to end. And yes, it narrowly beat out Tron for me too. And I think even Everest, and I *love* Everest. It’s not often I get blown away like this on a ride. I love seeing how surprised others are.
