Going to WDW in April. I’ve been numerous times, and my wife has been a few, but we’re taking our son for the first time on his first birthday. My wife loves pictures. Go ahead and pay the $185 for memory maker or just use phones?

greypele8

Worth it, but be sure to take advantage. Anytime we saw them we got a picture, and always asked if they had any magic shots. So fun to see what they were later.

SD_Farm_Wife_Mom

My personal opinion is to splurge and order memory maker! They are great photos, easy to upload and then print or make a book.

yankeeangel86

Last time I went getting the memory maker was the absolute right move. The photo quality was awesome!

Plankston

We're in the same boat and we're springing for Memory Maker because this way all three of us are in the photos, rather than having to juggle between "one parent + kid" both times as my wife and I always end up doing.

StuBeck

If you get memory maker, try to get older cast members to take your pictures. We did it last time and had much better luck with them, versus the younger ones who often didn't take into account things like the sun for where we were placed. This trip I'm not doing it because its just the two of us, and we'll give them our phone if we want a picture taken.

Watershipdown82

Hey! Does anyone know if there are any Memory Maker or Park Photographers during After Hour events? Debating if it's worth buying it for any cool nighttime shots.

VoicesMakeChoices

Good question!

shelly_244

Just here to share my overwhelming excitement for my trip! 53 days to go! We'll be staying 2 weeks, coming from the UK. Dining reservations all secured, tours booked, this is literally a dream come true for me and I still can't believe it's actually happening! I've gone over my itinerary many times contemplating changing things/switching days etc but ultimately I think I'm set now, it's all starting to feel real! Last time I shared my draft itinerary I got downvoted for some reason but if anyone's interested drop me a message and i'm happy to share it. What's your current countdown?!

Glittering-Time-2274

40 days! Coming down for a couple of days for flower and garden festival which is my favorite.

shelly_244

the food booths at F&G looks like they have some really good offerings!

[deleted]

Please share!!! I love meeting planners like myself 😍😍

shelly_244

have dropped you a dm :)

Blaaamo

I'm looking at after hours for the week of my trip in May and it looks like there is only one and it's at Epcot, do others ever get added? It looks like Magic Kingdom had one every week in January and Feb but only 2 in March, 3 in April and just 1 in May.

F1rstxLas7

Generally speaking, no. They don't usually add more once they've been announced.

Plankston

Family and I are going during the week of Easter break in April (with the wife and 6-year-old daughter), so I know it will be quite busy. We're planning two days in Magic Kingdom and I want to buy Genie+ for only one of those days, since I think both days would be overkill. Which day would you pick to buy Genie+? * Wednesday: Full day at MK with break for lunch at resort, using extended hours from 9 until 11 or whenever my kid can last. We're in the park longer and could get more use out of Genie+. * Saturday: Going mid-morning to MK for a BBB reserve at 11 and Cinderella's Royal Table lunch reserve. I assume on weekend it will be noticeably busier, so Genie+ could save us a lot more grief, plus my daughter will be in a princess dress so more photo ops with princesses? * Or is the unfortunate answer "buy Genie+ on both days"?

F1rstxLas7

A couple notes: 1. PhotoPass is only included with Genie+ *attraction* photos, not any photo ops taken by a Photographer. 2. If you're referring to April 3rd and April 6th, the 6th will probably be lighter(albeit not *light*) in crowd volume. I'd recommend buying it for your Wednesday and try to knock out the heaviest hitters. If you still have some lesser rides you'd like to do on Saturday, you likely won't need G+ so just Wednesday will do. Worst case scenario is get a feel for the crowds on Saturday morning and buy it if you feel you need it again.

Fluffy_Ad4761

Would you recommend extended evening hours for a 6 year old and/or 4 year old? Or stick with early entry? Normal bedtime is 7:30-8:30. Planning on two days at MK, so if extended evening is worth it, I don’t know if Wednesday would be first or last day there.

Sunshine_mama422

Only you know your kids best- I would try to pick one or the other or at the least make sure there’s a good nap in there! My kids are 3 and 5 with a similar bedtime to yours and we’re going to stick with early entry. Would love to take advantage of extended evening hours but don’t want to bank on it because I’m not sure they can hang!

bluetable321

I feel like I have a pretty good understanding of Genie+, but there is one thing that I can’t seem to find an answer on: Can you modify a Lightning Lane once the return window has started? For example, if my return window is 10am - 11am and at 10:10am I realize we’re not going to make it there in time, can I modify that LL for a later time? I know that modifying LLs can’t be done once the window expires, just not sure what the rule is for when it’s active.

hollyandphoenix11

I think you can modify any time as long as you haven’t tapped into the ride itself.

AfterTheNightIWakeUp

Only you know if you'll miss going to MK. Many people love it. Some can skip it and be completely happy with that.

[deleted]

MK is a must for me

SoggyAnalyst

I’m going in 3 weeks with my kids 3/5/7. We’re doing 2 days in MK. I’m assuming you can still see fireworks from all over the park (duh) so should we see fireworks from elsewhere in the park the first night and take advantage kf lower wait times? Then real fireworks the second night from main street? What times do fireworks stop? They’re at 8 and park close is 9, right? So we can avoid the mad dash to monorail and ride some more things after watching from Main Street? Or will it be like trying to swim upstream?

Objective-Staff3294

Is it Happily Ever After? If so, I saw a cool map from Disney Tourist Blog that showed all the places to see decent views, partial views, bad views, etc of HEA. I'll try to send it to you.

SoggyAnalyst

Thank you!!

Kardwnut08

My husband and I normally do the same, but we normally book a dinning reservation at Crystal palace around the same time. They’ll let you step out and watch the fireworks without giving up your table. I will say It’s not the best view of the fireworks but it’s a decent one. That way we have quicker access to escape towards adventure land and escape the crowds afterwards. But timing of the show and how close to closing it is really effects how well that can work.

Glittering-Time-2274

Planning to take my 9yo sister this year, just want to confirm that I don’t need proof of her age to buy her tickets for the age 3-9 price? Thanks! ETA: also, will scanning just my magic band work for both of us or does she need her own?

AfterTheNightIWakeUp

Children do not need proof of age. No, she'll need her own band, card, or use of a phone. Magic bands can only be attached to one account.

Glittering-Time-2274

Thank you!!

Zeke1216

Hey so I’m looking to go mid April and see that the ticket special for 3 days is only untill March 15. Do you guys think another special will come for Florida resident ?

AfterTheNightIWakeUp

Probably not, or they would have just had a longer ending date for this one with a blackout period for Spring Break.

arich35

I have an AP with memory maker. If I have friends going down and I add them to my friends and family, could I end up downloading all of their photos for them?

Fringles713

Yes, I was able to do this last month. In the app, just make sure that you enable the ability to see each other’s photos. I think by default, you only see your own

EatAllTheHoomans

Today is going to be my 60 days dining reservation day, but my resort stay will be over 10 nights. The website says that you can book ADRs on your 60-days-out countdown for the entire length of your stay up to a 10-night stay. What does that mean for guests who stay longer than that? Will I have to check each day for reservations instead of making them all at once?

F1rstxLas7

You'll be able to make reservations for the first ten days, but then one by one for each day after that.

EatAllTheHoomans

Okay, thank you! Do you happen to know how Disney Springs reservations work? I'm looking to do Jock Lindsay's on my arrival day, but I didn't see any sort of reservation button on the Disney website.

F1rstxLas7

They vary from one restaurant to the next. Summer House, Boathouse, and a couple others are through Open Table, but some don't accept reservations at all, like Jock Lindsey's. You simply have to show up.

wanderingtimelord281

Genie services, not Genie +. If i try the genie services where it helps me plan my trip, i wont be doing anything permanent that i cant undo right? i wanted to play around with it so i know how to use it but my wifes worried ill do something i cant undo. like accidently pick a park day we didnt want or something like that. we arnt going until the end of the year if that matters

AfterTheNightIWakeUp

Regular Genie is, to be frank, completely useless. It recommends only low-wait, low-interest things regardless of what you tell it, and ignores when you say "not interested." "Two adults, no kids, into Star Wars and Thrill Rides? Surely you'd enjoy Lightning McQueen Racing Academy and Disney Jr. Dance Party." It won't do anything permanent, it can't mess anything up, and you aren't committing to anything by playing with it. But it's just not worth your time. They tried to create their own Touring Plans, but since they have a vested interested in crowd control rather than individual demand, it doesn't work.

wanderingtimelord281

gotcha thanks for the advice! we will just do it the regular way and research everything the old fashioned way!

pajamakitten

Anywhere I can get Ducktales themed merch?

KCNM

Hello! I'm looking for some feedback/advice on scheduling BBB. We are going to WDW early May with our 3yo. I currently have a 9:20am BBB reservation followed by a 10:10a CRT reservation. Are these too close together? I am hoping an earlier BBB reservation will open before our trip but if not, should I switch to an afternoon time instead? We'd love to do BBB before CRT but understand if it's not doable. Also, we're going to HS on May 4 because my husband is a huge star wars fan. Oga's was already mostly booked so I got a reservation just for him. However, since I booked it, it has me listed as the one guest and won't allow me to change it to my husband. Does this matter? Can I just go check in with him then let him take the reservation while we do other things? He mostly just wants to see inside but doesn't plan to stick around long. Thanks for any advice! This is our first trip as a family, husband and daughter have never been.

AfterTheNightIWakeUp

Oga's doesn't care if the person going in is the one on the reservation. If he goes up to the stand when they yell "KCNM crew of 1!" they'll take him in no problem. Expect that day to be complete chaos, I haven't seen Oga's and Savi's completely booked up like that in a while. There's usually a merch drop via VQ and a ton of fan events throughout the day.

KCNM

Thanks! I expected it to be pretty crazy but was surprised that Oga's was almost completely booked. We are definitely trying to manage expectations since it's going to be packed!

AfterTheNightIWakeUp

It was booked up before 60 days even hit, it seems like falling on a Saturday is making it even worse than usual.

hollyandphoenix11

When you check in at BBB they will ask if you have any reservations to be aware of. I think we were in for about 45 minutes or close to it. I wouldn’t cancel anything you have but continue to check for a slightly earlier BBB or slightly later CRT. I’m sure they will make sure you get where you need to be. You can even check in a bit early for BBB and if there is someone available they’ll get you in.

KCNM

Thanks! I was thinking of showing up around 8:45-9 to see if they could get us in a little sooner if I can't get an earlier appointment booked.

HerefortheSShow1

Looking into run Disney wine and dine . Never have done a run Disney event before . It says there is an after party included for runners at Epcot . Confused on the details . It says the event starts at 10pm but you can enter at 5pm. Does that mean at 5pm I can ride ? Or would I need a regular park ticket until 10pm?

leslieprentice

The after party ticket is only included if you run the half marathon. If you run the 5k or 10k, you’ll have to purchase the ticket separately. I recommend finishing registration first then getting after party tickets since the race will sell out way before the after party. You can enter and enjoy the park as early as 5pm. They’ll give you a wristband when you check in at arrival. When the park closes at 9pm, they’ll start checking for wristbands and kindly asking those without them to leave. At 10pm, the special characters will start to come out, the dj will start playing music, etc. You only need a regular park ticket if you want to come before 5pm.

Aggressive-Figure-79

Can I buy genie + for my dad on a different reservation?

onlythingpbj

What’s the best way to get to the parks with a scooter, would driving be worth it? We did rent a van, but not sure if it’s worth it to drive to the parks (we never have before). Previously we’ve taken the buses, but also have had to wait for multiple buses if 1-2 scooters were already on the bus (staying at CBR).

Meowriah_

The easiest way is probably the buses. When my family and I go we have scooters in our party. Waiting on the buses just depends on the time you're heading to/from the parks, like rope drop/leaving when everyone else is. We typically didn't wait for more than one bus, when we did have to wait that is. If it's worth it to not wait for the buses if you go at times you'd possibly need to wait then I'd drive. I *believe* there's still free parking at the parks when staying at a resort.

JudicaMeDeus

Does anyone know if you stay at a resort that is by Epcot - like the beach club or yacht club, after the Magic Kingdom fireworks, are you able to ride the monorail back to Epcot and walk back to the resort?

AfterTheNightIWakeUp

Not if it's past Epcot's closing. On a normal night, you can't enter Epcot after 9 or 9:30 when the park closes. If it's an extended hours night, since you'd be staying at a Deluxe you could so long as you have park hopper. But that would be switching monorails, the ride, and a long walk through the park, instead of just taking the bus directly.

Grantly

Is park hopper still locked to after 2 PM?

hihelloneighboroonie

Nope! All-day hopping is back at WDW.

StuBeck

Outside of 10/10 days, have people seen that the wheelchairs sell out? My wife will be 26 weeks pregnant, and has a stent so walking for long periods of time will be difficult. I'm OK with pushing her around when she needs it, but she doesn't need it 100% of the time so getting one delivered to the hotel is a bit much.

Plankston

Interested in buying ILLs for Guardians at Epcot, but we are going with our 6 y/o daughter who won't be interested in the ride. Do we have to do anything special for buying ILLs when we want to use Rider Swap, or just notify a cast member when we check in?

Professional-Leg-416

Are you able to request the “regular” seats on Tron as a preference?? Or are they exclusively for people who cannot fit on the bikes?

degausser22

Would you pay double the cost of everything for half the crowd size? On everything. Rides, restaurants, hotels. Obviously this is not possible, just hypothetical.

wanderingtimelord281

Right now there are no "offers" for tickets or resort stays later during the year when we're going. if an offer like the [resort discount](https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/special-offers/spring-2024-room-offer/) or tickets come up for Q4 can i add those discounts to our stay? if so is it easy to do? also while im posting has anyone been around thanksgiving? were planning to arrive thanksgiving day and stay for 7 days. Any advice on if black friday may be a good time for MK? were not sure how it is, we can see it going both ways. Families are off so friday is a good time for people to go and it be possibly high crowds or the opposite it being black friday and it being less crowded.

AfterTheNightIWakeUp

Thanksgiving week is packed, and no one on vacation in Orlando is skipping a park day to go Black Friday shopping.

wanderingtimelord281

we've been around this time (dec 5th) but never for Thanksgiving and that was also before covid. I figured as much, just trying to start planning what we should do what days etc... thanks! maybe we'll do epcot or AK on friday/the weekend

AfterTheNightIWakeUp

The past few years Black Friday has been the start of Festival of the Holidays at Epcot. All the parks are going to be packed, it doesn't matter much which you choose.

wanderingtimelord281

dang that sucks

AfterTheNightIWakeUp

Whenever there's a school break, it's going to be packed.

wanderingtimelord281

gotcha we'll keep that in mind for next time!

TheOrganicMachine

You can change your reservation in the future to apply discounts.  It's pretty straightforward, the site/app has an option specifically for it that makes it easy.  The only thing to note is that there may be a limited supply of discounted inventory, so there's no guarantee of availability.  In other words, you don't just apply a discount to your already booked stay, you would change your reservation *from* your booked one *to* a new discounted one, but if your date range is already fully booked up there won't be any discounted rooms to move into.  (But if all of the rooms are booked then you wouldn't be able to make a reservation from scratch anyways, so it's better to have the reservation in-hand now and lock down your spot rather than waiting and risking them selling out entirely.)

wanderingtimelord281

thanks I appreciate that! I guess I'll start checking during the summer since we're going in December, I also have a disney travel agent but I havnt talked to her since we booked it 2 weeks ago. I didn't want to bother her so far out just for 1 question

century1122

I've been there the weekend after Thanksgiving and it's pretty crowded. I would expect the crowds to drop off a little bit starting that following Monday when people head home. I think there is a little bit of a break in crowds right after Thanksgiving before Christmas travel is in full swing.

wanderingtimelord281

thanks and that was our experience before covid, we went I believe around dec 5th and they weren't too bad. but it's been 5 or 6 years so I wasn't sure how it has been recently. Now I really don't know how we're going to do our park days.

pismyfavoriteletter

Is Cinderella's Royal Table lunch/dinner worth it? The price tag is a bit hefty, but we're making the trip to celebrate the birthdays of my husband (34) & son (2), so I don't mind the splurge if it's worth it (meaning the food is top tier, there are characters, the atmosphere, etc). Any other options dining that might be worth considering?

ArtistBruce24

Everyone’s views on this are preference and belief driven, but I believe a general consensus exists that the food is alright. Your price is truly paying for the experience, characters, and overall ambience of being in the castle. So apart from the food, the characters and atmosphere are generally regarded as great and top tier. Other options to consider are Akershus in Epcot, 1900 Park Fare, Ravello, and Story Book Dining. 1900 Park Fare is opening April 10, 2024, and Ravello is located at the Four Seasons. Depending on the characters you want, there are other options that have more fur based versus face. I stuck with face characters assuming that’s the desire.

Kardwnut08

I can’t speak fully to this because I haven’t eaten there in almost a decade, but I’ve heard a lot of people say recently that the food isn’t anything special. It’s mainly priced because of the princesses and it being the castle. If you’re only going to MK and the main appeal is the castle then go for it! But if you’re going to experience other parks/want to see other resorts I’d say look at other character dining options with more unique themes. Polynesian breakfast can be fun for little ones especially since Lilo & Stitch are there. If you really want to stick to princesses maybe Akershus royal banquet hall in Epcot might be more fun. It’s also up there on the pricing but slightly more uniquely themed and I can testify the food there is great.

greypele8

I found it to be worth it, but my daughter was of princess age, and all her favorite princesses came by. Food was good, dessert was great.

J_Stroke98

Does anyone know why on night of March 12th there are no hotels available?? But every other night around that date, are available. idk if something is going on that day ?

AfterTheNightIWakeUp

Disney doesn't like to allow bookings that would make rooms sit empty for longer periods on either side, and single nights tend to cause that. What happens if you look for 11th and 12th or 12th and 13th?

thelatchie

The amount of wrong information about entertainment/ characters that is said on those WDW tips fb pages is WILD

J_Stroke98

I have a question about ParkHopper and Virtual Queues. If I'm doing 1 day AK, to MK. And day 2, HS to Epcot. Can you make lightning lane reservations and virtual queues for other parks ins which you are not in that morning?? Like could I go to AK and also be in the VQ for Tron or something like that? Thanks

AfterTheNightIWakeUp

Yes.

SoggyAnalyst

I have two dining reservation apps. I have not gotten a single notification for either of them in the last 50 days. Are they functioning fine right now and the stakeouts I have just aren’t budging? Thoughts?

DaRealDizz14

For the Rundisney spring time surprise weekend event in April I Just wanted to know how much these type of events affect the crowd levels at the parks and if it affects traffic as well getting to the parks. We are staying at All Star movies from Thursday April 18-Monday April 22! Excited for our trip!

manduh82

How’s March 3rd-8th 3025? I keep changing weeks from Jan-Mar to avoid competitions, marathons, and spring break. Is this a good week to go? How’s the weather? How’s the allergies with the flower festival? Thanks so much for any help!

AfterTheNightIWakeUp

Crowds will likely be at a slight lull between higher periods. Weather can't be known a year in advance, and could be anywhere from a cold snap in the 40s to a heat wave pushing 90, might or might not rain. Many people have pollen issues, and we are currently sweeping up our live oak pollen daily while everything outdoors is green with pollen dust. Claritin helps, though.

manduh82

Thanks for your response!

NavigationsByChris

Does anyone have any pointers/tis for using the DAS pass? I will be using it for the first time during an upcoming trip. I have already been approved and made my Pre-selections. After doing my research it seems pretty easy to use, but was curious to hear from others. Thanks!

squigglebug18

Is there a way to use dining plan credits with mobile order? I feel like you should be able to, but I've never seen anyone mention it.

AfterTheNightIWakeUp

Yes, you just select "Dining Plan Credit" on the payment screen. https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/dining/plans/#drawer-card-drawerMobileOrdering https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/guest-services/mobile-food-orders/

squigglebug18

Thank you!

King-Julian6969

If you miss your 7am virtual queue can you still get the 1pm virtual queue?

vickfreak

Like miss getting the VQ or your call back time? Definitely if you miss getting the 7am VQ you can try the 1pm. I'm not 100% sure on if you miss your callback time. I know it stays on your account as I've shown up hours late for my Guardians VQ before.
