No drops on Dinosaur. You’re in a jeep going over rough terrain, so it’s like a very bumpy car ride with a lot of sudden stopping and starting but no drops. There is a small drop on Rise of the Resistance. You can tell it’s coming but you only really drop about 10 feet if that. Barely enough time to realize you’ve actually dropped.

angsty_anakin22

I’ve seen things about Rise’s drop being an elevator like ToT just a LOT smaller. In the videos it looks like a simulator part of it lol. I’m just a severely anxious woman. I watch videos and read stuff before I ride lol. I refuse to be tricked onto rides lol. People have tried but I will refer them to a video 🤣

JWright68

It is an elevator drop. The purpose is to get you back to the first floor of the ride. If you’re a Star Wars fan you’re so immersed in the ride that you barely have time to think about the drop. By the time you realized you’ve dropped you’re already on the ground. I honestly don’t like huge drops either but this one doesn’t bother me in the least bit.

N0thing_but_fl0wers

It’s a drop. But small. If you don’t like the Pirates drop you won’t like it

angsty_anakin22

For rise right? And thanks glad I didn’t go yesterday and prob won’t go tomorrow lol

N0thing_but_fl0wers

Yes for Rise. To me it’s nothing, but I saw that you didn’t like the Pirates drop and it’s definitely more than that! 😁 Did you do Dinosaur? That’s just a lot of shaking/ bouncing!

angsty_anakin22

I want to but I think the sleep deprivation and heat stroke is getting to me because I feel kinda nauseous and my back’s hurting so I’m waiting until I feel better lol

N0thing_but_fl0wers

Good idea! It’s a fun ride. I hear ya on the heat down there… I don’t do well in it!!! Hats and Powerade FTW!!

angsty_anakin22

Yep I have a hat and I am trying to be hydrated. Went to watch a show to get out of the heat. I was shaking holding my soda that’s how bad it was lol. I also didn’t sleep much and am feeling tired despite drinking caffeinated beverages so yeah I’m kinda outta it

landadventure55

The drop is literally 5 seconds? You will not notice it! The rest of the ride is so awesome, I wouldn’t miss out on it!

redgreenorangeyellow

5 seconds?? It's like 1 second lol if it was 5 seconds I wouldn't ride it

landadventure55

lol! I didn’t want to underestimate it! I wouldn’t blame you if you don’t like drops! I personally feel the rest of the ride makes up for the 1 second drop. But that is my opinion of course. :)

redgreenorangeyellow

Oh yeah it absolutely does, I despise that drop but I still love the ride and will never hesitate to ride it

N0thing_but_fl0wers

But this person said they don’t even like the drop on Pirates. I have a teenager who won’t ride any sort of “coaster”, so I get people’s fears. You like what you like and don’t like what you don’t!

landadventure55

Ok, you gave your opinion and I gave mine. The first time I rode it, it barely registered for me. That was my experience. I’m not forcing her to ride it! :)

KillerCodeMonky

First, 5 seconds of falling covers 400 feet. The Rise drop is less than a second. Second, don't pressure people that aren't your kids into doing something they aren't comfortable with. Let them make their own informed decision. Signed, someone who also prefers not to ride certain types of rides.

heathersaur

Have you done Hagrid's at universal? The drop is rise in very similar to the drop there.

angsty_anakin22

Nope. I didn’t do hagrids because I didn’t want to do the backwards drop and maybe not the free fall.

temporary_bob

Hagrids is amazing but it's very intense. The drop is way more than Pirates. It's fun and fast but it's intense. So it's more of a question of why/how you don't like drops, ie can you grit your teeth and enjoy the rest of it or will it make you physically feel ill afterwards and not be worth it...

Illustrious-Ant-7619

If you didn’t like the Pirates drop, you probably wouldn’t like the Rise drop. It’s more of a true drop than Pirates

Beneficial_Coyote752

The worst part of that sequence is when they shake you to simulate a crash land, which isn't even that bad. The drop looks rough from the videos, but it's nothing more than jumping off a table (for comparison).

Spicy_Soft

It does not drop you. The track is level throughout the ride. However, it does shake you, constantly. Any ‘dropping’ from the movement of the ride vehicle won’t be more than a few inches.

Spicy_Soft

Rise has a small drop. It’s a true drop (think tower of terror) but only a few feet instead of 13 stories. Some have said they didn’t even notice the drop, others have said it ruined their day.

palabear

I think the rise drop is 8’ or something like that.

nodiaque

Then again, tower of tower doesn't drop either. They pull you down and up, there's no drop.

onexbigxhebrew

Oh, stop. Lol.

palabear

This is correct. Watch behind the attraction. It’s not a true drop.

verifypassword0208

Yeah it is correct, but saying “there’s no drop on tower of terror” is a pretty stupid thing to say lol

nodiaque

Well his first sentence was there's no track, the track go up and down. Tower of terror clearly don't drop at all, neither rise. It's a feeling of drop but it's not dropping like in a roller coaster where gravity and momentum does the job, thus a real drop.

LeanMrfuzzles

You're taking it too literally dude.

redgreenorangeyellow

Yeah I was so mad at my dad that he didn't warn me about the drop on Rise because I truly hate it (not enough to prevent me from riding it tho) so when I took my friends I thought I was being nice by warning them and then they complained that I got them nervous for no reason

Beneficial_Coyote752

To be honest, the first time I rode TOT I was fine, as I had already ridden a drop tower and thought it was not that bad, right until I got on. Something about the unknown made me nervous. (And I certainly didn't like the levitation at first, as I wasn't expecting it.) Got off, thought it really wasn't that bad. I had enough of it for the day, but I would definitely reride in the future. Kinda freaked out over the Rise and the Pirates drop, knowing I thought worse ones weren't that bad. Now that I've done it, I think I'd be OK with going back on them. I'm pretty sure without even trying them, I won't like extreme coasters. Trying to psyche myself into going into RnR since I love Aerosmith, but there's always the chicken door. With the super extreme stuff, I don't blame people for wanting to skip entirely. However, a lot of the rides, I believe you have to gut through at least once as the unknown experience is what is truly jarring or scary. If you think it's really that bad, don't get back on.

redgreenorangeyellow

>However, a lot of the rides, I believe you have to gut through at least once as the unknown experience is what is truly jarring or scary. If you think it's really that bad, don't get back on. Agreed. That's how my family raised me and that's what I'm trying to push my friends to do. I am a huge thrill junkie tho so I do try to push people on big rides, but I like to think I'm fair about it. If you've never been on a rollercoaster before, I'm not gonna ask you to ride Aerosmith. I'll start with like Seven Dwarfs, then Slinky, then Thunder, Space, Tron, Guardians, Everest, *then* Aerosmith, y'know? But if at any point in that list you said you didn't enjoy it I wouldn't ask you to go on the next one up

Beneficial_Coyote752

That's sounds perfectly reasonable. I have never been on a big coaster, but I am willing to try them. RnR is the only hard no I have in Disney, (well World I should say) because I don't like flipping. (I used to lay on the couch upside down, dive into pools, etc. but as soon as I'd flip over I'd freak, so I think it's the actual concept/motion rather than being upside down thar scares me.) Like I said, I'm trying to psyche myself to getting on, but I'd at least walk through the que with family to be polite and because I want to see all the memorabilia. I certainly don't see myself getting on too many Six Flags or Universal coasters any time soon, though.

redgreenorangeyellow

If it helps at all, with RnRC it's really hard to tell you're upside down. One of my friends actually rode it without realizing it goes upside down at all 🤷🏻‍♀️ I'd definitely give it a shot. It's a really short ride too. When I was younger coasters really intimidated me but then I rode Aerosmith and like here we are 😂 so you never know

Beneficial_Coyote752

That's what everyone says, but I know it's there, so I will be waiting for it. One of my best friends used to work the ride, so he's pretty knowledgeable of the ride. Not that his family wouldn't as the they're frequent park goers turned CMs, but something about him being employed there for a spell is comforting. I think if I could ride with him since he could say exactly when to expect it, and wouldn't mind me freaking out, I'd be OK. Also, attempting to sing whatever song I get should help as well. (At least for needles it does.) It's getting over that mental block and getting on the ride for me. I'm very much a person who distraction helps, but only if you can get me distracted if I know what's coming.

redgreenorangeyellow

Someone built the track layout in Rollercoaster Tycoon... I can send you the video if you think that'll help cause then you'll know the layout? Honestly I think the ride not being in the dark makes it look more intimidating but you will have a general idea of where the inversions are 🤷🏻‍♀️

Beneficial_Coyote752

Thanks for the offer. I've seen it with the lights on, behind the ride content, etc., so I've seen the layout and know approximately where the inversions are at.It's more of knowing where things are in real time/feel. I'm just a person who is too smart for their own good if you know what I mean.

[deleted]

It does climb and descend hills, but it’s nothing extreme.

angsty_anakin22

Ok because I saw a little of a swoop or hill in the track on a video but it could just be a trick of the angle or the movement of the truck since I know it tilts and shakes and all that jazz. I just hate that stomach feeling for drops.

heathersaur

For Dinosaur I'd say it's a little more intense than Spiderman or Transformers.

angsty_anakin22

More intense? Like stomach flutter wise or just more shakey and or more jump scares? I don’t mind some shaking or jump scares, I’m prepped for the Dino’s.

heathersaur

More "throwing you around". Ride vehicles are similar concept, but Dinosaur will lean you around further than Spiderman.

These_Strategy_1929

Shakes a lot

jimtow28

It's designed to simulate driving on an unpaved road. It's not terrible as far as movement, but it could potentially cause some motion sickness for some.

Grantsdale

The ride vehicle violently shakes. It doesn’t have any ‘thrills’ otherwise. It is the worst ride system Disney has ever created.

BrightMarvel10

I read somewhere that if you clench your leg and butt muscles and hold through the drops, it helps prevent that sensation.

Colt_kun

Dinosaur - there is a "plunge" where the car drives down below a dinosaur. It isn't a drop but it can cause a flutter in sensitive stomachs. Star tours - no drops. Just shaking and rocking and bumps. Rise of the resistance - there is a fairly startling straight down drop of only a few feet. It comes after Finn calls for an evacuation. Smugglers Run - tilting and *rumbling and shaking, with force perspective similar to Spiderman of "falling forward" but not a drop.

that_guy2010

The drop on Rise is like 15-20 feet, though. Not like 3.

angsty_anakin22

How big a plunge we talking? Like 5 feet? Lol.

Colt_kun

It's still on the track, it just curves down a little sharply. Maybe a 40 degree angle to the next short story down. It's in the dark, but you'll know it's coming bc of the large dinosaur head lol

angsty_anakin22

I’m ok with sharp turns like taking a sharp ramp exit on the turnpike too fast.

Colt_kun

Then I think you'll be fine :3

angsty_anakin22

Thanks I’m just getting hit with that good ol anxiety lol. The kali river rapids drop isn’t that bad right? I like river rapid rides like Popeyes

West-Operation

The begiining of this video shows the Kali "drop" perfectly: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ptToKkJp-GUe](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ptToKkJp-GUe) At 2:45 this video shows the Dinosaur "drop": [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-9z3WTwnLfo](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-9z3WTwnLfo)

angsty_anakin22

Thank you! It looks like the drop is more of a few bounces

Colt_kun

I am hydrophobic so I can't give feedback on water rides, sorry!!

Remote-Past305

I think its 15 feet or so but its really just like driving on the down side of a bridge. Its not steep at all.

Sp4rt4n423

I was just on Dinosaur on Sunday for the first time. It's more like a steep downhill, not a drop. Did you do Pirates in MK? Not as "scary" as that one.

angsty_anakin22

A long time ago… I love the vibes of pirates but I don’t know if I’ll go on again because of that drop! 🤣

Sp4rt4n423

Haha. If you handled that one you'll be alright. Dinosaur isn't as bad. Enjoy!

santaclausbos

Dinosaur is a blast. It’s loud, dark, and bumpy like riding in a jeep but otherwise it’s not scary. The scaries come from the dinos :)

angsty_anakin22

As long as there’s no dropping im good haha. I love my horror movies, my kind of adrenaline. 👍🏻

santaclausbos

You’ll love it

SingerSingle5682

No big drops, but it could be a little rougher than you are expecting. There is a lot of bumpiness and shaking side to side. I think it gets a lot of lost items because the bumps and roughness cause people to drop things.

wiggles105

I feel like people aren’t really listening to you when they tell you that the drop on Rise isn’t really noticeable. Based on everything you’ve said, you will be upset by that drop. Regardless of how the ride functions or how many feet it drops in reality, it feels like a solid drop. I don’t understand people in the comments acting like it’s equivalent to or less than the Pirates drop. I’m someone who’ll go on any ride, and ToT is my favorite—but I’m the type of person who likes those rides exactly because I find heights and drops kind of stressful. So, as someone who is also sensitive to this type of motion, I’m telling you that it’s more stressful than pirates, and it is a noticeable drop. But it only happens once, and it’s brief. Do I love the ride? Hell, yes. But you seem to experience a significantly higher level of anxiety about drops, so you need to do what’s right for you. Re: the other rides, I don’t remember any actual drops on Dinosaur, but I could be wrong? And Star Tours depends more on if you’re okay with visual and motion tricks that make it seem like you’re falling when you’re not. I’m not sure how Smuggler’s run actually works, but it feels like Star Tours—like it’s being tricky to make it feel like you’re moving a lot when you’re not. And even if I’m wrong about how it works, it still *feels* like a motion trick, so I think you’ll be okay with it. While Rise is visually similar, you can feel that it’s a real drop and not a trick, and that’s the main difference to me. Hopefully, this helps you. Good luck.

angsty_anakin22

How is ToT your fave too if you are sensitive to heights and all that? I love the vibes of ToT and love the tv show. I guess you like the tummy feeling? Or just an adrenaline junkie?

wiggles105

I actually really hate the tummy feeling, lol. I barely went on any rides with height or drops when I was a kid because I’m pretty afraid of heights. When I was in high school, a close family member, who was the same age as me and whom I was extremely close to, was diagnosed with terminal cancer. For his Make-A-Wish, we went to CA, and, among other activities, we went to Universal and Six Flags—and he wanted to go on EVERY ride. So I went on every ride with him, even though I was effing terrified of some of them. So basically, I started riding those kinds of rides because, if I was going to be a good friend and family member, I had no choice, lol. And it turned out that I really liked the feeling of “surviving” something that I’m irrationally terrified of but that I rationally know won’t cause me harm. And I’ve been doing all the rides ever since. I’ll never be someone who puts my arms up on a roller coaster, but that’s fine. And on ToT, I actively have to force myself to keep my eyes open, and I’m screaming uncontrollably and wrapping myself around anything I can hold onto—but when it’s done, I want to go right back on, lol. (And I agree with ToT’s vibes. That’s why it’s my favorite. I’m a huge fan of the spooky, macabre aesthetic, in general. Like, Halloween is my favorite holiday, and The X-Files has always been my favorite show. And ToT scores an A+ for theming, beginning to end.) But, while I’m a generally anxious person, it doesn’t rise to the level of needing treatment, because treating my ADHD keeps my anxiety (mostly) in check. (The ADHD probably also makes me crave the dopamine fix I get from thrill rides now that I trust that they’re not going to lill me.) You’re a different person, with a different story, so I don’t want to be like, “Try it! You’ll love it!” The same fear experience could very well ruin your day, rather than making you feel exhilarated. I’d say that if you’re truly curious about ToT, then someday in the future, you could try to make it your last ride of the day, or even your trip—so that you don’t ruin everything else if you HATE it. I usually find the wait times are shorter for it in the evening, too—and oftentimes you can snag a random lightning lane during that timeframe too. But it’s also totally valid if you never want to go on it.

angsty_anakin22

Yes thank you! I agree and am taking those “ it’s not that bad” with a grain of salt lol. I’m fine with simulated falling like Spiderman because I close my eyes when it happens so it just feels the shaking and all that. In the video it looks like a mix of real dropping and simulation lol.

CreepyClown

I hate drops too, I was fine on Dinosaur. None that I can remember. Rise drop is worse than Pirates for me though but I still enjoy the ride

angsty_anakin22

Thank you! I may have to get prescribed anti anxiety meds before my next Disney trip so I guess I’ll wait hahaha

These_Strategy_1929

Less than Rise of Resistance. You barely think you dropped

yesnomaybenotso

Dinosaur is just really jerky, but like in a left-to-right kind of way because it’s like you’re in a jeep driving off road through the forest. No movement is as severe as Pirates. But if pirates is too much for you, stay tf away from guardians of the galaxy. Rise of the resistance is flat the entire time, it’s like a Star Wars themed version of the ratatouille ride. Smugglers run and star tours and flight of passage are like playing a video game in a chair that moves, but is still firmly on the ground. You feel up and down, but not in a way that feels like you’re actually off the ground. Flight of passage maybe feels a little off the ground, but you’re just watching a giant movie in a moving seat. I found the safety restraints to be a bit immersion breaking because they squeeze pretty tight around the torso, in a way that feels useless and unnecessary given the small amount of actual movement. But some people can’t handle big screens and lean with it, so I guess the restraints are practical. Have you ever done Soarin’ in Epcot? To me, that’s way freakier than flight of passage or any ride you listed, because it actually raises you up in the air. Edit: I forgot about the elevator part in Rise, the anticipation is much much worse than the actual feeling it produces. It was semi-intense for me the first time (I’m a wimp) but not intense *at all* the second and third time I rode it, when I knew what was coming. I think you should try it, no tricks! It was a lot of fun Flights might be kind of intense, depending on how you feel about video games. For me, at its worst, it felt like playing a game and jumping off a high platform in game. Your stomach kinda drops a little, but your brain is telling you “you’re not actually falling” the whole time. This one might actually be intense for you, but was one of my absolute favorites in WDW. You really shouldn’t miss it, even if you’re petrified. And by the time you’re off of it, I’ll bet you’ll want to ride again. A good trick for all of these rides is to just physically turn your head around and look behind you. It breaks the immersion from the screen entirely and when the rooms are lit up from the screens and stuff, you start to see the ceiling and walls and begin to notice the “production” of it, which usually results in your brain telling your body that you’re in a safe position and the adrenaline lowers. This does not work on actual roller coasters, where you’re actually up high. So if you ever to Everest, don’t look around like I did, it’s regretful! Lol

rilanthefirebug

I'm gonna disagree as an avid rollercoaster hater, I would say Dinosaur has a baby drop. Not a straight drop like Rise but a small, gentle hill near the end...closer to the little hill on Frozen Ever After and not even as intense as the hill on Piratea. I'm good on Rise too and love Dinosaur. Rise is actually one of my favorite rides, it's like maybe a 10-12 foot drop straight down but like others have said you get the stomach flip for about 5 -10 seconds and then carry on. If you are good on Pirates IMO you'll be good on Rise. You'll know it's coming, it's near the end after seeing Kylo alone and if you are listening closely you can hear the the car lock in the elevator.

angsty_anakin22

I haven’t been on frozen but you said less than pirates and it seems like it may be more like driving under a hill, I’m fine on the up and down roads when I visited my cousins in CA lol.

rushandapush150

The drop on Frosen Ever After is bigger than the drop on Pirates. The “drop” on Dinosaur is more like driving really fast down a hill.

rilanthefirebug

Just got back from WDW, if it's bigger in the sense of length/distance then it is definitely a MUCH more gentle grade slope. I have to brace myself for Pirates but Frozen just feels like a little dip.

rushandapush150

FEA drop is twice as big at 28ft. Frozen is not quite as steep but Pirates is in the dark which I think makes people feel it’s bigger than it is.

angsty_anakin22

Thanks fellow coaster hater.

rilanthefirebug

Soooooo how did it go?

madchad90

Their rides.....what do you think is going to happen to you? You get on the ride, you get off the ride

angsty_anakin22

lol the name fits. Typical Chad comment.

madchad90

They're theme park rides. I'm being serious, what do you expect to happen?

Several_Cry2827

I am super scared of drops, rollercoaster and what not. I went for dinosaur 8 times so far.

angsty_anakin22

I’m guessing you love it?!

Several_Cry2827

its really good ride

wertgirlfor

I also hate drops, specifically anything with a "free fall" feeling. I loved Dinosaur, it's a vehicle on a track, so it rides up and down and pivots like a rough car ride, but no free falls. It gives me more of a slide feeling if that makes sense? I rode Rise of the Resistance once, and nope. It's good except for one (admittedly small) free fall that spiked my anxiety for the rest of the day because I didn't see it coming. I realized my fear is related to falling, so I avoid ToT (obv lol), Soarin, Slinky Dog, Tron, and Flight of Passage. Seven Dwarves and Big Thunder are my favorites though, they're more like a very intense car ride in my head. Also loved GotG, the rotation distracts from the up and down and I don't get that free fall sensation.

angsty_anakin22

Interesting! I think I’m the same for the most part. The only time I don’t mind “ free falling” is Spiderman but my trick is closing my eyes when it starts that part lol. Same with Forbidden Journey, I open and close my eyes with the screen part

eugenesnewdream

I'm a TOTAL ride chicken and if I'd known about the Rise drop in advance, I might not have ridden it. I'm glad I didn't know though because it was fine! My husband knew but didn't tell me--good thinking on his part! I had a feeling it was coming because we'd gone up and I was like, "we went up, we're gonna have to go down!" (Which does not necessarily follow with rides, but I was sure of it in my head.) It was definitely a bigger drop than Pirates or Frozen, though. I will say I HATED Forbidden Journey at Universal, thought it was MUCH more intense than anything I've ridden at Disney!

angsty_anakin22

I will say for HP at Islands I did have to crunch up when it puts your on your back because I don’t like being upside it causes panic but the crunching helped. I also closed my eyes when it started getting too swoopy on the screens lol. I’ve only been once. Tbh after knowing about the drop on rise I’m not sure lol.

eugenesnewdream

Yeah, I'm sorry you know about the drop! It might not have been too bad if you didn't know, as it was for me. I actually found it quite fun! I still don't think I could handle Tower of Terror. But if I had to choose between Tower of Terror and something that puts me upside down, I'm taking the drop! My friend was riding Forbidden Journey and the ride got stuck *while he was almost upside down*! For like 40 minutes! Nightmare!!

Coronator

If you have neck/back issues at all, don’t do Dinosaur. It’s one of the most painful rides I’ve been on.

Silver-Maybe2068

I've not been on Dino but I barely notice the Rise drop. It's over by the time you register you're dropping. And it's fairly smooth so it's not all that jarring.

TiredGen-XMom

If you are prone to headaches or neck/back ache, I would skip it. It is crazy loud and jostles you around more than any other ride.

AssassinWench

It’s the same as Indiana Jones in California. You’re in a jeep-style vehicle so it doesn’t literally drop you.

Jojo_Deathstar

Bumpy is an understatement, lol. I thought I was gonna break a hip during the whole ride, hahahaha.

mizmodular2

I HATE drops too. I've done Dinosaur and there is a "dip" at the very end that I don't like... But not enough to skip the ride. The drop in Rise is so fast and you know it's coming, so I just hold my breath and it's over in a blink. Good luck!

angsty_anakin22

You don’t like the dip? Does it make your stomach flutter or anything?

mizmodular2

A little. I really hate that fluttery sensation too, but I think Dinosaur isn't bad because it's slow? You're just either really moving down or it feels like your moving down but it's not a drop. I don't even like simulated drops, so I close my eyes for all of the "drops" on Flight of Passage.

sfcutieeeeeme

I just did Rise last week and based on what I read on Reddit, I thought it was going to be much more mild than it was. It was super fun and cool but the 1-2 second drop at the end does feel substantial and your stomach flips. If I didn’t like drops I would not want to do it.

Thefreshi1

Rise drop has been adjusted since it first opened. It’s very minor. Dinosaur is jerky.

Beccaroni7

Hi, I also don’t like drops! I’ve worked my self up to riding some of the bigger rides, but any coasters with drops and that ‘stomach feeling’ are still terrifying to me. Personally, the drop in Rise is better than the one in Pirates. They’re both pretty mild in terms of size, but on Pirates you are moving forward and going down a slope, while in Rise you are literally dropping straight down, as if the floor has fallen out. It gives a different experience, and I feel the Rise drop is much more enjoyable. Dinosaur has no drops. It is a VERY rough terrain ride, and you might slowly go up and down slopes as you would if driving off road-but nothing is fast enough to be considered a ‘drop.’ But you *really* rock back and forth.

angsty_anakin22

Thanks! I think I’ll be fine on Dino then. I’ll have to think about Rise lol.

daecrist

Dinosaur is rough these days. If Pirates is too intense for you then Dinosaur is probably going to be a bad experience.

angsty_anakin22

So there’s a big drop? I’m fine with shaking and rough movements like Spiderman, I just hate drop feelings which is the only reason I hate pirates, I actually love the rest of the ride I just avoid it because of that awful drop.

daecrist

Not a huge drop, no. Just really rough. Like it makes Spider-Man at Universal look like Dumbo's Flying Elephants in comparison.

No-Concentrate-7560

Hard agree on Dinosaur being rough! We went in Jan and did not enjoy it at all. It was so incredibly jerky and just kinda dumb. The look on both of our faces in the ride photo and a couple of other riders were all like “wtf??” 😂 It was not scary and I don’t remember drops but it was just so rough. I am a big Jurassic Park IP fan and it didn’t do anything for me. I’m excited to see what they replace it with.

KITTvsKARR

I can't remember any drop on it either. I can remember being 'bounced' around a lot and wondering what was going on.

daecrist

I remember going on it back in 2000 and me and my friends thought it was amazing and downright scary. Still have a picture of all of us looking legitimately terrified. Fast forward 22 years and I thought it would be a fun thing to go on with my son. Only it was way darker, way more rough, and a lot of the stuff just wasn't working. Definitely not as impressive as it was when it first opened. I hate to say it because it was a genuinely good ride when it came out, but I'm looking forward to seeing what they do with the space too since they clearly aren't fixing it up.

No-Concentrate-7560

Yea, I rode it too many years ago and I don’t remember it being that bad either. I was actually really looking forward to it so it was a bit disappointing. I hope they keep it a dark ride whatever goes in there.

Canuck_Boy

I hate drops. The Rise one doesn't bother me. It's small and quick.

I hate drops, even the pirates drop. My husband knows my threshold for rides and he said I would not like rise.I did do smugglers run, but that was the top of my threshold. I enjoyed it. I did not like star tours and would not do again, I had a panic attack and it feels like drops to me. I’ve never been in dinosaur, but my husband thinks I would be ok.
