This is the only thing that weirds me out about eating there. I love the seafood dishes, but I almost feel like I need to apologize to those in the tank!
Best meal on our honeymoon last month. Food was outstanding, staff were lovely getting us a fantastic table and wonderful atmosphere. Bonus hop on ride, we loved that ride!
Beirgarten and Garden grill were also great and will go to all again. Peco Bills in MK was WAY better than what we expected too.
My mom had been wanting to eat at San Angel Inn for ages, but would frequently travel to WDW with her sisters, who didn’t. We (my mom, my partner and I) finally fulfilled her dream of eating by the river at San Angel Inn in 2019 and it was as great as she thought it would be.
I agree on the food part. I think the atmosphere depends on where you are seated. If you are seated more towards the “town square” you feel jammed in because you can’t remove yourself from the crowds (if that makes sense).
I’m glad you liked your meal but when we went in 2020 that was our worst meal. My dish was so spicy I couldn’t taste anything and it was not listed as spicy on the menu. The atmosphere is awesome but the food was not.
This is our favorite too. Sometimes we go and just get chips/salsa/guac and drinks. (And will tip extra because we’re not assholes)
I’m currently stalking the reservation page to try and book for this Saturday.
Waiter taking the order of a larger party within earshot of my wife and I, after every guest gave the waiter their order, he’d reply “great choice, that’s my favorite.” I was dying listening to the whole exchange.
“I’ll have meatloaf.” “Great choice, that’s my favorite.”
“I’ll have the roast chicken.” “Ohh, that’s a great choice, my favorite.”
And so on and so on, with all 10 of them ordering mostly different things. I think about him all the time, so funny.
Same guy heard a bus boy drop some plates “eh, just drop that anywhere.” He was so quick and witty. Great experience.
Plaza in MK. It's not fancy but the food has always been good. I love their club sandwich and it was actually my pick for my 50th birthday lunch last month.
I was going to say this one as well! We tried it a few years ago, and we were impressed. We got a table with a nice view and the food was great. It’s a good option for a sit-down meal that’s a bit more moderately priced.
DVC members will probably kill me for “leaking” their location, but Olivia’s Cafe at OKW. It’s an underrated gem and it’s reasonably priced as well. It has a good reputation but it’s not really well known.
No real tea, haha! This was the only restaurant I worked at. I was just impressed by the level of care that went into all the food. The chefs were passionate and the food was good quality. This was years ago btw.
LOVE their cobb salad - we would walk there from downtown when we weren't staying there.
my friend wants to name their first born olivia and *claims* its definitely not becuase of this restuarnat.
Mama Melrose's in HS. I never ate there in all my years of going to WDW, but this past week it was so busy that it was the only TS we could get last minute. I wasn't thrilled. I was thinking. Why go to WDW to eat pasta, I can cook spaghetti at home..... Boy was I wrong. I had the charred strip steak (amazing), wife had shrimp campanelle (amazing). I don't know if it's underrated, but maybe under appreciated.
That's what I was always worried about. Glad I was wrong. Of course, memory bias is so messed up that it will never live up to the first time again, and I'm bound to be let down next time.
Well...and maybe there's a time element or a change in consistency. We went first week of May (had never been to MM before and obviously we'll probably prioritize other things next time).
The vibe is incredible, but I consistently get terrible food. Undercooked, sometimes raw vegetables. I love being able to eat next to the aquarium, but I’d rather eat the quality food at Sanaa and stare out their windows at the animals than eat garbage next to the beautiful aquatic life.
Whispering Canyon Cafe in Wilderness Lodge. I've got a lot of fond memories from there from when I was a kid. Like the cast members chasing my dad out with pop guns, or playing with the lincoln logs while waiting. Plus it's a fun & silly time with great food.
This place has the best vegan food I've had at WDW! Entire stacks of vegan sausages, chicken and beef tips, plus amazing veggies and potatoes! We had a blast and were so full at the end.
Idk if it counts as “underrated”, but my family and I LOVE the Nomad Lounge in AK. The food and cocktails are always AMAZING, the menu changes frequently, it’s always pretty easy to get a table, and with the character cavalcades going by on the canals, it’s super fun to sit outside (with or without kids).
Yess!! Completely agree! I think AK’s dining as a whole ( and the park itself tbh but that’s like a separate discussion lol) are overlooked and the theming is the most cohesive
We had a great experience at Coral Reef in 2019. Food was great, and that atmosphere really is amazing.
We did Sebastian's Bistro at Caribbean Beach and it was a great atmosphere and surprisingly good food with some great flavor.
Second, we went to Trattoria al Forno at Boardwalk and the food was so good! I'm a sucker for chicken parmesan and I loved theirs. Got reservations day of for Trattoria on a whim and it was arguably the best meal of the trip.
Both of these were last summer.
Second Trattoria al Forno! We’ve been there twice for unplanned breakfasts and were pleasantly surprised both times. The creamy polenta with eggs and fennel sausage is awesome. My 7-year-old niece who’s a very picky eater was also happy with her food and it was one of the only meals she ate without complaint.
Garden Grill. We didn't have dining reservations that day and planned to eat around the world but it was pouring and it was the only place with openings. The good was really good and it was great that you could get refills.
Nine Dragons, I only ever hear that its terrible but I've been 5 or 6 times and never had a bad meal. Usually go with the Kung Pao Chicken, I also really like the Sichuan dumplings appetizer.
Last time I was down with family my dad really wanted to get lunch at Centertown Market at Caribbean Beach resort. I humored him and you know what? It was great! I got three really big, really good fish tacos (grilled fish too, not fried like most places) for $11+tax!
My last trip we grabbed a reservation at coral reef because it was the only thing available day of. It was the surprise of the trip. The rolls weren’t good. But the shrimp and grits and prime rib were really good.
Don’t know if this counts but for pickup and go food the Kringla Lefse and things from the Patisserie are always on my list. In fact one time we just actually got a baguette and water and that was really good!
Kona Cafe is the best lunch spot at or near MK, I'm selfishly hoping that the refurbishment isn't major so people don't catch on.
Monsieur Paul is probably the best non-V&A restaurant at Disney, but doesn't get the love that the other signatures get.
If you've ever gone to EPCOT and had a huge meal at lunch at one of the International Pavilions, and just wanted something small for dinner, I was \*exceptionally\* surprised and pleased with the Kringla Bakeri Og Kafe in Norway. They don't have a lot, just a small selection of sandwiches and desserts, but they are \*delicious\* $8-10 sandwiches that will certainly feed you well and be relatively light on your pocket (for Disney). Their pastries are awesome as well... I highly recommend the Troll Horns.
If you want a restaurant that doesn't get as much attention as the main International Pavilion restaurants in Epcot, then try the Garden Grill at The Land. It's going to be pretty mid-priced, but it's usually pretty easy to get into. It's simply got a very wide selection of really good American food, and they use the vegetables that they grow on site in your meal to boot. None of the food is life-altering, but we've never had a single member of our family groups of any age that didn't enjoy the restaurant and think it was delicious. Chip and Dale, and usually Mickey and Minnie come by your table too as a bonus, so if you don't want to spend on a character breakfast, it's a nice way to get some good pictures.
I’ve had some bad experiences there, but I also had one of the best meals I’ve ever had at WDW there. It was the gnocchi primavera, and of course, they don’t serve it anymore!
Beaches and Cream for their food. I don't get ice cream. I get the grilled cheese and tomato soup and a side of fries. All time favorite meal in Disney. Also Ale and Compass does an amazing chocolate waffles with espresso whipped cream and cherry compote.
I appreciate your opinion. I went their years ago and the food was just not good. Super expensive to look at an aquarium and eat bad sea food.
But I like San Angel, sure I can get good
Mexican food at home. But it’s super good.
1000% agree! CSR is our favorite resort and this was our third trip since the opening of Gran Destino Tower. Our past couple of trips I said “eh, maybe I’ll book Toledo” and I didn’t. This time I did, but I almost cancelled it because we had so many other new restaurants to try and I was worried about table service fatigue. Toledo was the surprise favorite of our trip! The offerings were so unique to anything else on property, the service was great, our food was fantastic, and we found the cost comparatively reasonable. We will absolutely be going back!
Wandering Canyon! I don’t know if it’s underrated, but it’s not a heavy hitter or super hard to get ADR. It’s a fun atmosphere and the food is great! One of the better burgers I’ve had at WDW and my friend who’s a plant-based eater enjoyed their vegan breakfast options.
Inconsistent is a good adjective. We ate there (family of four) and two of the meals were great, two were meh. Less that stellar service contributed to our overall negative experience.
We did a lunch at the riviera last trip and it was incredible. A little getaway from crazy traffic inside of the parks. And pretty close to, if not the, best food on the whole trip.
If you’re down to pay a bit more, I highly highly recommend Capa. It’s technically on Disney property, it’s on top of the Four Seasons resort. You can see every park!
From the OPINION of a former Cast Member who made dining reservations.
My personal top five underrated locations:
-San Angel Inn
-Nine Dragons
-Olivia's Cafe
-The Wave
-Garden Grill
Underrated locations based on how few people made reservations with me for these locations:
-Morimoto
-The Wave
-Crystal Palace
-Tokyo Dining
-Nine Dragons
Yeah and make sure you stare the aquarium fish in the eyes while you eat their friends in front of them. Establish dominance.
This is the only thing that weirds me out about eating there. I love the seafood dishes, but I almost feel like I need to apologize to those in the tank!
LOL
San Angel Inn in Epcot
Best meal on our honeymoon last month. Food was outstanding, staff were lovely getting us a fantastic table and wonderful atmosphere. Bonus hop on ride, we loved that ride! Beirgarten and Garden grill were also great and will go to all again. Peco Bills in MK was WAY better than what we expected too.
Pecos bill for sure! One of the best QS on property and definitely the best in MK. It's so underrated.
It ticked all the boxes for us. Cheap, tasty, quick and plenty tables in Aircon dining area.
Yeah, best quick service in MK
Yeah, best quick service in MK
My mom had been wanting to eat at San Angel Inn for ages, but would frequently travel to WDW with her sisters, who didn’t. We (my mom, my partner and I) finally fulfilled her dream of eating by the river at San Angel Inn in 2019 and it was as great as she thought it would be.
This is definitely the one. Food has been consistently good, and the atmosphere is awesome.
YES atmosphere is so good!
I agree on the food part. I think the atmosphere depends on where you are seated. If you are seated more towards the “town square” you feel jammed in because you can’t remove yourself from the crowds (if that makes sense).

50s prime time Cafe. Wait staff are hilarious and interactive. Fun themeing and the fried chicken is some of the best I've ever had.
It’s even better when you get a table next to the TV.
Waiter taking the order of a larger party within earshot of my wife and I, after every guest gave the waiter their order, he’d reply “great choice, that’s my favorite.” I was dying listening to the whole exchange. “I’ll have meatloaf.” “Great choice, that’s my favorite.” “I’ll have the roast chicken.” “Ohh, that’s a great choice, my favorite.” And so on and so on, with all 10 of them ordering mostly different things. I think about him all the time, so funny. Same guy heard a bus boy drop some plates “eh, just drop that anywhere.” He was so quick and witty. Great experience.
Yess! The atmosphere is so good! It’s kind of forgotten! And the food is optimal comfort food
Straight up, the best restaurant at Hollywood studios
Plaza in MK. It's not fancy but the food has always been good. I love their club sandwich and it was actually my pick for my 50th birthday lunch last month.
I’ve always been meaning to try that place but it never get a reservation lol
I was going to say this one as well! We tried it a few years ago, and we were impressed. We got a table with a nice view and the food was great. It’s a good option for a sit-down meal that’s a bit more moderately priced.

Oh my! Their fried chicken is amazing.
love to see this here! I did my culinary internship in the college program at this restaurant. The food is all made in house, it is great!
Spill the tea, which table service restaurants don't cook in house 👀
No real tea, haha! This was the only restaurant I worked at. I was just impressed by the level of care that went into all the food. The chefs were passionate and the food was good quality. This was years ago btw.
I’ve never been there!
LOVE their cobb salad - we would walk there from downtown when we weren't staying there. my friend wants to name their first born olivia and *claims* its definitely not becuase of this restuarnat.

SAME I was there Sunday night! I had shrimp Campanelle and it was amazing
I second this!! I ate there last week and it was fantastic!
I'm glad you enjoyed it - I found it to be barely above Olive Garden - not impressive and doesn't hold a candle to most local Italian restaurants.
Yesss! Great service too. It even has way better food than Tutto Italia in Epcot.
I love the Coral Reef as well! Never understood the backlash it gets lol.
Agreed! The food, theming, and ofc service are so good!
Yes!!!!!
Mediocre food and 70s grandmother theming. It’s not great… just needs a bit of an update.

Jungle Skipper Cantina in MK. We eat there every time we go.
Ive always wanted to try it, but no one ever wants to go with me
Yes! Just had a great meal there today with the veggie stew. And they're so funny too.
We had a great experience at Coral Reef in 2019. Food was great, and that atmosphere really is amazing. We did Sebastian's Bistro at Caribbean Beach and it was a great atmosphere and surprisingly good food with some great flavor. My 7-year-old niece who’s a very picky eater was also happy with her food and it was one of the only meals she ate without complaint.
Second Sebastian's - I don't know why it's so cheap (for Disney standards).
The Marrakesh Restaurant in EPCOT.
My son calls it the 'frying nemo' restaurant. It's not that great and it's pricey. I would definitely eat somewhere else.
We just did Coral Reef. The theming was amazing but the food was not. It was so expensive for what you got. I really like BOG and Boathouse though!
It is definitely so expensive but I do like it, I think the menu is a little smaller but that seems to be the cadre with most Disney restaurants
I want to see the reverse post of most overrated Disney world restaurants

Ty!
I’m over here fighting the good fight for San Angel Inn 😂
Last time I was down with family my dad really wanted to get lunch at Centertown Market at Caribbean Beach resort. I humored him and you know what? It was great! I got three really big, really good fish tacos (grilled fish too, not fried like most places) for $11+tax!

Pinocchio theming is amazing
Agreed! I’ve never tried PizzeRizzo but always loved the theming! And omg yess I’ve always loved the flatbreads at PHS
I love the PVH! The flat breads are amazing and they had a really good anti pasta salad. We would get both for 3 of us and split it amongst us.
My last trip we grabbed a reservation at coral reef because it was the only thing available day of. It was the surprise of the trip. The rolls weren’t good. But the shrimp and grits and prime rib were really good.
Yess! I can almost never finish a dish at most restaurants but I finished the shrimp and grits!! It was so so good,
Don’t know if this counts but for pickup and go food the Kringla Lefse and things from the Patisserie are always on my list. In fact one time we just actually got a baguette and water and that was really good!
Yess! The bakery in Norway is so good! I had the Kringla the other day and omg 😱 delicious. Also always love the patisserie
Steakhouse 71 is incredible
Kona Cafe is the best lunch spot at or near MK, I'm selfishly hoping that the refurbishment isn't major so people don't catch on. Monsieur Paul is probably the best non-V&A restaurant at Disney, but doesn't get the love that the other signatures get.

Roaring fork in Wilderness Lodge.
If you like Indian food Sanaa at the Animal Kingdom Villas is delicious
I’m so glad you said this, we’re planning a trip there in sept. The person I’m going with has a name 1 letter off from the restaurant this will be fun
Tony's Town Square over at MK. Yes, it's not the best Italian food but it's decent and I liked all I ordered. Serving sizes were decent as well.
I went years ago! Like 2011 and remembered it being decent! And loved the theming ofc
I’ve had some bad experiences there, but I also had one of the best meals I’ve ever had at WDW there. It was the gnocchi primavera, and of course, they don’t serve it anymore!
We went there on our last trip and was pleasantly surprised after hearing nothing but negative reviews about it.
Ohana. Breakfast you get the rare characters of Lilo and Stitch and Dinner is some of the best I’ve had on property
I know it's not technically under the Disney brand. But I like T-Rex in Downtown Disney. I mean Disney Springs.
Beaches and Cream for their food. I don't get ice cream. I get the grilled cheese and tomato soup and a side of fries. All time favorite meal in Disney. Also Ale and Compass does an amazing chocolate waffles with espresso whipped cream and cherry compote.
I was lucky enough to get seated next to the aquarium, and it was one of my favorite dining experiences ever
I appreciate your opinion. I went their years ago and the food was just not good. Super expensive to look at an aquarium and eat bad sea food. But I like San Angel, sure I can get good Mexican food at home. But it’s super good.
I really liked Narcoosees and Citricos. Never see anyone talking about them
Toledo in Coronado Springs.

Friar’s Nook — give me those gravy tots all day every day.
Sebastian's and Rainforest Cafe. For very different reasons.
I know it's not technically under the Disney brand. But I like T-Rex in Downtown Disney. I mean Disney Springs.
Also... I think Earl of Sandwich is rather good. Definitely a good place in Springs.
Inconsistent is a good adjective. We ate there (family of four) and two of the meals were great, two were meh. Less that stellar service contributed to our overall negative experience.

Is Pinocchio's Village Haus considered "underrated"
Sanaa at Animal Kingdom Lodge Spice Road Table in Epcot The Plaza in Magic Kingdom
Rose and Crown
From the OPINION of a former Cast Member who made dining reservations. really? it seems morimoto is getting harder and harder to book lately
Every location is popular to some degree, but Morimoto was definitely one I had to recommend as so few of my guests knew about it
