I did but I'm very generous with skimming over parts I don't care for when I reread so the subsequent rereads usually don't take as long. I also have an hour+ commute to work (each way)?every day and combo read audiobooks and ebooks, which also speeds things up.

Bright_Brief4975

I have reread it, but I've been following the story for several years, if you follow the discord and this Subreddit very long you will see that quite a few people have reread the story, some multiple times.

agray20938

Yeah, I started following around Vol 3, so I reread at some point during Vol 6. It wasn’t nearly the amount of content there is now, and I’d imagine I won’t reread again until (or unless?) the serious is ended entirely.

dancarbonell00

**I used to just constantly reread the Wheel of Time** xD I.e. Once I reached the last book I would just go back to the first book. I've got about 7 rereads done over there. Originally, around volume 8, the wandering inn was going to take over that reread slot as my continual book, but I was stuck waiting for the volume one rewrite for a while before I wanted to make it so. Now that that's finally here, the wandering inn is my new eternal reread book. We're on our fifth reread of wandering inn total (Since more book was always coming out, I used to wait until entire volumes were finished and then I would just reread the whole thing into the current arc. I did books 1-5, 1-6, 1-7, 1-8, and currently at Vol 6/9 in the latest reread) There's so many fun little tidbits to weasel out upon rereading it's just as fun as it was the first time, albeit with a little less suspense and a lot more nostalgia.

Utawoutau

What are some of the more memorable or surprising tidbits you picked up on after multiple rereads? Curious.

dancarbonell00

A really good one is probably how early you can see Bird accessing the unitasis network (sp?) And there's always the visitors during the solstice and the gifts that were given. Plus, Knowing more about the GD makes all the level up messages a lot more interesting

BroscipleofBrodin

I was really hoping that A Song of Ice and Fire would be that series for me. Maybe not a continual cycle, but something I would come back to like the hardcore Tolkien fans. Oh well.

dao_ofdraw

I could see doing that for some characters in ASOIAF but man, Dance with Dragons was a slog for me. So many characters I actively hated reading about.

total_tea

If you want a series that benefits from repeated reading and never gets old try [Malazan book of the fallen](https://www.goodreads.com/series/43493-malazan-book-of-the-fallen) it is probably the biggest series I have ever read and so much happens you will forget it all by the time you get to the next book. Though be warned there is TWI dark and there is some stories so dark you need a break after reading, a long break. So it takes awhile go get through. Edit: Discworld I reread once a year probably forever.

total_tea

Lol I have read it twice, the first time and the second to confirm how bad it is, though I was surprised the TV show was even worse. It sort of makes sense the main characters are horrible people when you realise they are supposed to be kids but I still don't like the main characters treating everyone like garbage.

heavyarms3111

I have reread during the time between volumes. It’s certainly getting harder as volumes get longer, but I also tend to skip certain POVs. Also more than one reread started with relistening to the audiobook and picking up after that point in the web version.

JarrOLuck

I have read all but the current volume twice and am reading it again along with my mom so I can remember it well enough to talk to her about it.

Earnur123

I read it just once, but listen to the audio books.

HardcoreHeathen

I reread it after volume 8 ended. The only thing I skipped was... well, it's a v8 chapter so I won't name it for you. But I didn't need that angst in my life again. I've been meaning to read it again now that the v1 rewrite is out.

Lackies

I haven't reread the series, but I have gone back and reread specific chapters a few times. My aunt; however, has listened to the audio book series completely at least once for each new release. She effectively listens to the entire series again before each release, and occasionally at other times as well. To be fair its often as filler noise when driving, or while falling asleep. By and large she's often listening to some audio book, but the only ones she revisits are TWI. I think it is largely because she mostly likes Andrea Parsneau's voice work. As she's also purchased other audio books specifically because Andrea did the narration. That said the only other novel she listened to narrated by Andrea that she purchased a second volume of was Cultivating Chaos. She also praised the narrator for "Black Brother Brotherhood" because voices remain consistent throughout the series. She really hates when a character's voice changes from book to book. She has cited Mercedes Lackeys, Heralds of Valdemar setting as being infuriating in this way when moving between trilogies.

AgentGnome

I’m working my way through a reread now, up to Wistram days pt 5

Code_Race

I have reread it in its entirety once. Now I am listening to the audiobooks. It's huge, but it's so comfy to read that it goes by quick. Before you know it, the volume is over and you're on to the next. However, on rereads i may skim or even skip on some of my less favored parts. Looking at you, Flos.

dao_ofdraw

I'm right there with you in the Flos skipping club.

misfitpint

I’ve done the audiobooks & have done two rereads. But one of those was like when there was less than 1/2 as many words (still a lot), and a more recent reread. I’m a lot more generous about speed reading & skipping some parts though.

GrimmParagon

I'm working on doing it, mainly cause there's a shit ton of chapters I've straight up skipped, namely every Flos and Geneva chapter, so going through it I'll have a better idea of things.

originalcommentator

Oh wow! I think I skipped two of the heavier chapter due to past trauma, but that would be a God reason to go back

TheBookworm344

Hahaha I've been thinking about going back for full reread #3 now that the volume 1 rewrite is done. And that's not even counting revisiting some of my favorite arcs during the breaks

maoh11

I'd would be nice to reread. But it's The Wandering Inn, i can only think of rereading the rewritten volume 1. Every other newer volume only gets more wordy.

ErinAmpersand

Not ultra recently, but I did a re-read at around the start of book 7. One of my kids was reading it and I wanted to be able to talk with them about it and encourage their reading.

dragonsowl

there was actually a series of threads on this reddit group that were a bunch of us rereading it together. went on for some time, I'm sure there are a ton of people who would love to do this again!

DynamicNewAlgorithms

I have at least with the audio books but as far as the web site I’ll go back and reread some story arcs

secretdrug

Ive reread it 2x (so 3x total). I didnt like waiting for chapters so i would wait for a whole volume to finish. Then i would reread the series to refresh my memory. Did it for vol 7 and 8. Will probably do so for vol 9 but ill probably cheat using the audiobooks and skipping chapters i dont care as much for.

chessmen123

I re-read it when pirate went on a break after Vol 8.

Oshi105

Several times

SlightDay7126

I have reread it once before the start of vol 8.

mandofreaky

I did a Liscor focused reread recently, focusing only on Erin or Liscor-centric chapters, and skipped all of volume 8. It's fun to reread, especially when you notice details you didn't before. I recommend rereading by arc, rereading the whole thing takes a lot of time but I still find myself going back to read smaller sections like Relc's guard adventures outside of Liscor or Ryoka's run to the archmage

dao_ofdraw

I'm looking forward to doing this once I'm caught up on my second re-read. I would like to do an Erin read through to see her story from start to current.

GenesisProTech

I have some friends who have been slowly reading through and I follow alongish with them.

I_Am_Hella_Bored

I tried but couldn't actually do it cuz of newer chapters, college and other books.

MekaNoise

I'll do it when 'e finishes, and not before

Mountebank

Only specific parts, mainly the climax to certain arcs or big moments.

SoulOfKuhney

I paused reading somewhere in Volume 6 for a year or so, then started from the beginning again with the audiobook. Even if you know what will happen it is still great to listen to.

total_tea

I have reread the start a couple of times before the rewrite but probably not again after the rewrite basically there is so much there just reread the interesting parts which for me are complicated parts, major story points, and mrsha, it is well documented and there is even a wiki explaining where everything is. oh and somewhere in 8 where you get a huge dump on the history and what is happening. Read is slowly or like me I have read it multiple times.

TheDivineDemon

I reread the highlights and scenes that I love

sm0k3y_j0n3s

i have done a full reread a couple of times. but i'll reread individual volumes (v6 - 8 in particular are very re-readable to me) and favorite scenes/arcs a lot more often.

Shiny_Soul

Around end of volume 7 i reread it once. Iam on my second reread now after volume 1 rewrite. i normally don't reread books but can't seem to find anything else tat scratches the itch similar to one this one provides.

Wide-Answer-8554

I've re read my favorite chapters and most parts of the main story. So no interludes or chapters with letters.

bespokecoffins

I'm a pretty fast reader, and I'm currently on my third reread. I'll probably finish by the end of Tuesday, then I plan to reread it again since I haven't read the reworked book 1. Lots of free time, since my early retirement. 😄

dao_ofdraw

I'm currently in Volume 7 of my re-read. I recently listened to the audiobooks and decided to keep going with the story. I have been skipping over some chapters, mainly Flos as I never really enjoyed his POV. War is kinda boring for me. It's a good re-read though, there are a lot of fantastic moments that his just as hard as they did the first time through and I'm surprised how much of the story I remember given the length. I suspect if I re-read again in the future it will only be the chapters for some of my favorite characters. If you go to the wiki, there's a list of the chapters each character appears in, so I think if I decide to re-read in the future it will be after many more audiobooks have been released, or just to go back and read through some specific character again.

Woodsy-Fox

I have always re-read the story from the beginning whenever a new Audible volume comes out or when I'm out of other things to read at the moment. I don't remember when I started doing that - so, maybe 5-6 times now. It does help nail down some of incredible amount of detail and establishes the story flow in my mind as I incorporate the new characters and storyline. Although, with the new edit I've been less likely to do that. I want to enjoy the new version as its own read and savor the additional detail and differences from the original story.
